Loved this spicy monster romance!
It follows on from the events in Red (a spicy red riding hood retelling) and the main couple Julia and Alex.
They are now a bonded pair as fated mates, as well as King and Queen, but that doesn't mean they are away from danger and threats.
As Alex grows more protective of his mate, Julia is struggling with her new life and lack of purpose, whilst constantly craving Alex's presence thanks to her increased heat.
This is packed full of spice and kinky content (primal, biting, breeding, somno...), but I also loved the worldbuilding and the increased focus on the world of paranormal creatures.
It's got action, drama, a grumpy gargoyle bodyguard who doesn't understand boundaries, and a found family bunch of sarcastic monsters who will do anything for each other.
I loved the elements of ancient supernaturals too including Lucifer and Lillith, and all the hints it's dropping of events to come.
This is a fab monster romance series and gives Alex and Julia their moment to shine. Can't wait for more of the other characters journeys.

omg 👀👀👀 i was addicted to this book from start to finish ! Julia so funny , she's an an amazing heroine , although she might seem tad worrisome while Alex is on a mission , i think its purely because she's new to the mating bond and what happens at one point along the way , it wasn't a usual occurrence and it was only normal for her to worry like that.
Alex ,is strong fierce , powerful, will never give up in in the face of danger , Julia , will do any thing to help him or her friends and will risk anything to help them
this book is full of amazing , strong , powerful and funny characters , one of them reminds me of some one i know 😂
as well as humour , it also has quite amazing plot and omg the spice 👀👀🤯🤯🤯🥵🥵, i didn't want it to end , i cant wait to read Riley's next book !

While i personally loved the first book in this series i know many did not. But the suthor took all those other reviews into consideration while writing this one and it shows! She did a wonderful job of captivating readers with alex and julias world, expanding on the details of who they are and what is going on. The plot is better flushed out but still plenty of spice that keeps the whole castle up. I am excited to see what else this author comes up with

The second book in a duology for the Everdark Tales series, this book was even better than the first, and I'm glad that I waited. Following Red, this book goes into better detail of what's going on. You get a better sense of everything. I loved the world building, the friends that Red makes, and how you read her growth throughout it versus the first one.
Riley C. Smith did a phenomenal job bringing her world to words that are captivating, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with. Consider me a forever reader and fan.

I absolutely love these two, this book was fantastic! I fell in love with Red & Wolf was just as perfect. I’m pretty obsessed with this monster romance.

Alex is just swoon worthy, he’s so intense, possessive and oh so protective of Julia. Julia is a great fmc, she really just wants to fit in with everyone and she loves her man. The friendships were beautiful, ahh I loved this book so much!

Was excited to see the next book from this author and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the second book with that deserved so much and had much to overcome. :D This was a lot more fleshed out and a gripping read for me. Loved Julia and Alex, these two characters and a longer with more happening in this book. Their ending was just perfect and as the author has hinted in her credits, we should hear more from them, especially some good news for the couple! :D

Oh my god. This book was even better than the first one! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book. And I have only one word: DAMN.
The spice was good. The storyline was even better. Perfect contrast of spice and storyline. I loved this so much. I highly recommend reading into the trigger warnings, but apart from that I would recommend this book definetly 🥰

This is a continuation of book 1 "red" and the conclusion to julia and alex..
Julia and alex are now mated and julia is struggling with her new life and trying to make head ways on how to adjust to it all,but alex is protective so much of his mare and i mean he is just 🥵🥵.

After reading Red, who wouldn’t want to know what happens in the Julia and the Big Bad Daddy Wolf!!! This book could be devoured as a quick read but also enjoyed at your leisure! I loved this newest story for Alex and Julia, getting to know the family and new friends, and now seeing Alex’s world. I’d definitely say this story has a good 50/50 on plot and spicy, and the spice is out of this world y’all!!!! I can’t wait to see what and who Riley has for the future of this series, I know the King and Queen will obviously make their return but I’m so excited to see what awaits us! Riley you have truly done it again and oh so better this go around!

Once again a masterpiece😚🤌🏻. I absolutely loved the first book of the series, I was really worried that the second book wouldn't be like the first but OH MY GOD Riley ATE 🙌🏻The book is a must read. I love the writing style, the story, the characters, how everything is detailed and of course the spice🔥. Oh god the spice🔥🔥Alex and his dirty mouth 🥵. Hats off really the book had me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to read the next Books.

I loved Red, the 1st book but The Wolf is so much more.
Julia and Alex's story is an explosive tale brimming with smut(beware of a heatstroke ,that's how hot it is)weaved into a complex and multilayered plot , captivating characters and a good world building.
I liked specifically how the author masterfully gave a twist in beliefs,religions and lore to add depth to the story.
Can't wait to see what she's going to throw into a certain gargoyle 's path....

3.5🌟 ilk kitabı bi tık daha çok sevmiştim diyebilirim. Daha heyecan vericiydi olaylar. Burda ilk kitabın sonundan devam ediyoruz. Kadın karakterimiz yeni yaşam şekline ayak uydurmaya çalışırken bir yandan da Alex’le olan ilişkilerini mutlu mesut sürdürür. Bi yandan da Alex’in krallık görevleri bastırırır. Yani açıkçası anlattığı hikaye, o avcılarla ya da Lilith’le olan savaş çok merak uyandırmadı bende. Ama yine de güzel bir kitaptı. Kesinlikle smut baya iyiydi. Bu kitapta tanıştığımız bazı karakterlerin hikayelerini merak ettim. Okumaya devam edeceğim. Bi de ilk kitabı daha çok sevmemin nedeni tanışmaları, işte bir sürü güzel işlenmiş trope yazılmış, arada tansiyon var ne olacak diyosun sonra nasıl bir araya gelecekler diyosun bunları okurken bir çırpıda bitti. I loved getting to see Alex and Julia's story continue and going through their bonding and journey together!
There are many more characters and species introduced that I am very excited to see more of! I think I'm especially excited for the Gargoyle! I really hope he will have a much bigger role!
I would say my favorite part of both books so far were the action filled fight scenes! I could definitely go with having more of that added to it.
It is obvious that Riley took the notes and reviews from Red to grow The Wolf and make it stronger. I see a stronger story with a lot of potential for even more later!

The Wolf is the sequel to Red, and if you are looking for a Little Red Riding Hood Retelling where the big bad wolf gets the girl of his dreams. Then this wonderful read is for you.
I loved the prequel Red, and this book picks up where the 1st one ends and DOES NOT leave you disappointed and waiting. It's the perfect blend of plot and spice and has so much more.
This is an amazing red and is a lot darker and spicier than the original, so be sure to check your TW lists, but you WILL NOT be disappointed.

This was one hell of a ride! The Wolf picks up right where Red left off, with Julia, Alex, and the others in The Veil. Here we meet all types of characters (aka “monsters”) in this safe haven. The human hunters are still out there trying to find, create, and modify these monsters to fit their needs. To control them and gain power. It is up to Alex as the King to prevent the humans from doing this, all while protecting those fellow beings in The Veil, and his future queen, Julia.
Julia though carrier of the wolf gene, is still human. She’s been through a lot, and it takes her some time to get comfortable in The Veil. But eventually she feels at home with her new family, though not everything is sunshine and daisies. Threats are out there, out to cause harm and panic, and some of that gets a bit too close to their new home.
Alex and Julia want to help as many beings as they are able to and this book takes us on that journey. We meet so many new characters, some of whom are wickedly enjoyable. I really liked getting to know more about this world and the beings in it, especially Lucifer and Vernox. This story, with TONS OF SPICE, had a lot more meat to the story than Red. I felt invested in the story once I got into it, especially with the more character connections and the action that the author infused into the story. I was on the edge of my seat reading about the underground battle!
I believe that readers will really enjoy the depth that went into this story. The history of Lilith, Lucifer, the Pagan traditions, all of it, were very interesting to read. Smith also set the readers up for future stories that I’m sure are going to be great reads. I’m intrigued with the backgrounds and futures of a few of the characters we met in this story! I want to thank Riley C. Smith for allowing me to ARC this second story in the Everdark Tales. I look forward to continuing on this reading journey!

Settling on a rating for this was a bit of a struggle.. I decided to be generous.🤔
As far as wolf smut this was good 🥵
The storyline, although it tried, wasn’t great and I just didn’t care about it. The fighting scenes in both books were meh.
The writing definitely left something to be desired.. there were many incorrect sayings and it bothered me a lot “Like a good girl she is” “You’re getting so lucky tonight” are a couple examples.
The characters were okay, I didn’t love either of them but there were some good moments.
Overall I read this for the spice so I wasn’t disappointed 🫠

The writing definitely left something to be desired.. there were many incorrect sayings and it bothered me a lot “Like a good girl she is” “You’re getting so lucky tonight” are a couple examples.
The characters were okay, I didn’t love either of them but there were some good moments.
Overall I read this for the spice so I wasn’t disappointed 🫠

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done reviews.
I wanted to give this a 2 star, but given that I gave the prequel a 2 star and this one improved, I couldn’t. Therefore, it sits neutral at a 3. I didn’t love it but I didn’t want to light it on fire either.
There were significant changes to the writing style, and huge improvements in editing that ultimately landed this a 3 star versus a 2. BIG round of applause to the author for the work she’s done in this book, in comparison.
I did enjoy the world building, and the introduction to new characters, BUT it was a lot to only be a duology and seemed very 2D. I don’t think there was much in the way of relationship development with the main characters, and honestly the smut wasn’t as smutty was I anticipated (I’m a plot girl, but it stands to be noted).
There’s a lot of action happening in this book and if that’s your jam, then you’re in luck. I skimmed like all of that part because it was confusing with the number of people+powers involved.
I get wanting to add *more* to this story but I feel like I left with more questions than answers, and this series has drifted from monster romance to fantasy novel. Aside from the new characters, we also got a huge new storyline and all of these difficulties seem to be resolved too easily without much growth for any of the characters.
That’s not a bad thing, but if you read Red and were anticipating more of that style of story, you’ll be disappointed.
More than anything though, this FMC is completely insufferable.
Like, girl. Get it together.
And as a last mention, the word “oh” is used 103 times. 😵💫

I’m in my monster romance era and I am loving it! This is the 2nd installment of the Everdark Rales which is the little red riding hood reimagining will have you howling at the moon. If you have a tendency to root (see what I did there, pun intended) for the underdog? In this series, the Wolf is the unapologetic master of this fairytale in all of his glory in this dark gothic paranormal romance. Equal parts scorching hot spice and riveting plot, with fiercely protective, strong and witty characters, fated mates and found family.
This part of the story picks up where Alex and Julia are now King and Queen, a bonded mated pair, in the Veil, a safe haven for creatures seeking refuge from those hunters who are looking to use these monsters for their own gain. As Julia struggles with adjusting to life in the veil after all she has been through, she looks for the joy she once knew. Alex will do anything to ensure that his Queen and all those in the Veil from the chaos and malice that is looming.
I love the way that Riely C. Smith writes, the additional characters ranging from gargoyle bodyguard to Lucifer and Lillith leap of the page and her world building is some of my favorite to date. The fantastical realm that has been created is brilliantly done with complexities and beautiful wild ride of adventure, romance and kink. The mythological backstories given to these characters is some of my favorite elements.

Ohhh! This was something, all right! The spiceee... got me sweating over here! It really has everything you can ask in this genre, great world-building, likable characters, an easy to follow plot, humor, and of course werewolf form smut. The found family trope was so well done that I felt like part of their family while reading :) I'm obsessed with the author's writing style, and I especially loved the biblical references and mythology. I've never seen it done this way before, how everything is interconnected in a way that's surprising but makes perfect sense how it's presented. I must say, I can't wait for Satan's book, not only because of the Dragon form smex, but I also want to learn more about his backstory, the demon realm, and the elites. But I know the Gargoyle and Minotaur's books will be fantastic as well. This series took a turn I didn't expect and I love everything about it. Huge applause to the author for doing something new and risky in this genre. I highly recommend this series to everyone as it has elements of cozy monster romance and dark romance mixed in with action, thriller, and humor.

This sequel definitely didn't disappoint. We get a closer look at Alex's world and his supernatural family now. I loved to see the various representations and how it was done in such a gentle and respectful way. I also loved the backgrounds of each character, which made this world very lived-in. Great job! Both Alex and Julia are consistent with the first book in their personalities and chemistry. The spice was off the charts spicy. I had to take breaks to compose myself lol But it wasn't overwhelming because there was a great plot mixed in with action scenes, and I loved to see that. The fighting scenes were very well put together and I liked the pacing of switching between Alex and Julia's POV. There was also dark humor and many comedic relief moments that made me laugh out loud. Overall, amazing read. This series won't be to everyone's taste as it is quite unique, but to me, it's in my top monster romance series.

Julia was once being *followed* by a wolf in the night. Now, that wolf has told Julia about their fated mate bond, and she's agreed to follow him back to his world where he is the king of his people. Alex is quickly realizing that Julia does not want to do as he tells her. It's for her protection, but she'd rather face the odds. I love how everything that's happened hasn't diminished her light. She's a sassy and brave redhead with the strength to help lead their people at his side. They have a dynamic where they are equals, but in the bedroom, Alex is her king. Boy's got three different shifter forms, and he's not afraid to use them all. He's super in tune with her needs and wants and is completely at her mercy for it. Theres some fun new faces and some familiar ones, and some hints towards future adventures. Overall, it's a spice-packed read that's sure to knock your socks off!

THE WOLF is an even darker and steamier continuation of RED—for the best enjoyment, the first book should be read before. Book 2 in Everdark Tales series. Wow, this is amazing and thrilling. There is plot twist, funny banter, character development and world build. The spice is well written and executed. There is a lot going on but it mixes well and it keeps your attention, I finished this in one day. It is a perfect mix of spice and plot. I loved that they also show the meaning of honor, biblical references (non-offensive) I so wanted a unicorn. By far a top monster romance book, I need book 3 asap.

This was so good! I loved how fun and easy Red was, but The Wolf took this series to an entirely new level! The author's writing improved so much between these two releases. The spice was spicing so hard... that full moon scene OMFG! All the side characters were so great, and we got some glimpses into Alex's past and the whole lore behind the supernatural. Um, Satan, hello? Can't wait for THAT book! Of course, I'm so sad it's the end of Julia and Alex's POV. But right now, I'm impatiently waiting for Gargoyle and Esmeralda's story! I just know it's going to break my heart! 🖤
