Adam
Finding out my visa expired days after being traded to a new professional football team?Worst two weeks of my life

Now my agent tells me my sole option, if I want to keep playing and not end up deported, is to get married.

There's only one problem. I’m not dating anyone.

But there is someone I’m interested in...

Susie
I’m a best-selling author with a deadline looming and a bad case of writer’s block torn between two men.

Chase, I’ve only talked to online, and Adam is my brother’s teammate which makes him completely off-limits.

But then out of the blue, Chase presents me with a proposal I can’t refuse.

Will this romance author finally find the love she’s been writing about or will her writer’s block get in the way?

This is a sweet, kisses only, marriage of convenience, off-limits, slow burn, cinnamon roll, he falls first, lots of sizzle no spice romance with a happily ever after. Let yourself get swept up with Adam and Susie. I hope you fall in love with the two of them and are left wanting more of the Accidentally In Sports Series! I received an ARC copy of this book. I really enjoyed Adam and Susie's story. It was a fun twist on a fake marriage. It was also really fun to see Josh and Brie's story from another angle. I like when a series isn't one after the other, but like they happened simultaneously, so you get to revisit moments you loved in a previous book. The only negative for me is one instance of inconsistency from the prior book, Adam told Josh that he and his twin Steve went to different colleges, but then in this book Adam says when he is traded that this is the first time he played without his brother. But even so this book is definitely one I will reread, I love the story and all the characters!!

It was 3 stars, but then the epilogue dog story came and pushed it a bit to far in the cheesy department

I absolutely love the dynamic these two had. I felt like they instantly connected and built a great friendship so it made a marriage of convenience like the cherry on top! Susie was just the perfect match for Adam and I’m glad they had the push to get their relationship rolling because I don’t think with one would have made that leap otherwise.

This is a dual pov, clean romance. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone novel.

"Married first and then dating… another possible trope that I never thought about."

"Luckily for me, I’m an author. I may not be kissing my husband in real life, but my characters have been kissing a lot."

"I’m officially dating my husband; official dating can include kissing, right? Yeah, we’re going to have a conversation about that, and soon. "

Such a sweet story! The moment I was able to read it, I just hopped right in! If you like: a cinnamon roll mmc, off limits, marriage of convenience, secret identity ,she wears his jersey, football player, he falls first, and bookish themes... THIS is the book for you!

I absolutely adore Abbys books. They are wonderful and this one was really great as well! In this story, Adam a professional football player, has been traded to a new team and is taking a little time to get settled. That is until he meets his teammates sister Susie. They hit it off right away. So when he finds out his visa is expired... he decides a marriage of convenience is the answer and who better than Susie. But she is off limits, and the last thing they want is the press catching wind of their marriage on paper, when they aren't ready to tell everyone. So what happens when you start falling for your fake wife? Can a marriage of convenience work? How long can it last?

Sweet, sweet story! Susie and Adam had so much chemistry, and I love how they were around each other. And I love it when the man falls first. ♥️

I received the book for free during a promotion about two weeks ago and was really happy about it, since I had discovered it a few months ago and already wanted to read it because it features a bunch of my favorite tropes (marriage of convenience, hidden/dual identity, online relationship/pen pals) and also has a high rating. Frankly, I'm not sure how it got that rating. I read to 8%, skimmed to 12%, and couldn't justify spending my time on any more.

The characters weren't fleshed out, and by the third chapter I disliked both of the leads, who felt dramatic and whiny about their jobs. (Rant in spoilers, since it's tangential.) Establishing the main characters' inner conflicts is important, sure, but when both characters start off complaining before we learn anything else at all about them, it is difficult to be sympathetic or even to see their struggles as an inner conflict rather than immaturity. Even apart from the two leads, though, I had problems with the characters. Throughout the four chapters I read, every action and every bit of dialogue felt forced, unnaturally scripted to make the plot move forward. I kept going, "Would an actual human say/do/think that right now, though?" There was a lot of exposition in both the dialogue and the thoughts/first-person narration, too.

The prose was suboptimal. The descriptions (both of the environment and the action) were this weird blend of overly detailed (unnecessary and distracting play-by-plays or things a character wouldn't naturally be noticing) and under-described — it lacked immersion and often felt like the characters weren't really existing in space. On a surface level, the text could have used a tighter edit to catch things like typos, erroneous capitalizations, punctuation errors, and obvious homophones (timbre and timber are not the same thing). And the things that were supposed to be jokes in-world... just weren't funny.

The issues here were systemic, not a possible result of the plot that might be avoided in other books, so I won't be reading anything else by this author. (Which is a shame, because she has several books focused on marriage of convenience. I was hopeful that I'd discovered a seam of ore to mine.)

Edited to add:
A week after dropping the book and writing this review, I ended up skimming through the rest of the book after I'd finished another one with similar tropes by a different author. I had liked that other book quite a lot, so I decided to give this one another try, getting past the opening and seeing if it got better later on. It didn't really, although there wasn't as much whininess later. The characters' actions continued to feel unnatural, and the emotional development was much more switch-flipping than actual development. I'm leaving my star rating unchanged, since I simply didn't like the book.

I'm so sorry I'm late life was pretty crazy. I was able to ARC for @ again and this absolutely adorable story has released so you should go read it now! Seriously I giggled and laughed so much.

This is Book 2 in her interconnected Accidentally Sports Romance series. (Book 1 review is accidentally in love with my best friends brother)

Susie
She is the little sister to Josh Owen's (book 1) and a romance writer with a pen name (Amelia Adams). She is having massive writers block and is falling hard for a random guy she talks to about football on an app and her brother's new teammate. Little does she know they are the same person. He inspires her for her new story and she learns that love is truly something you can't expect. She has a heart of gold and loves sports more than anyone.

Adam
Adam is Candian who came to the USA for Football. Adam and his twin have played together their whole lives until he gets a call from his agent saying he's being traded. His whole life feels like it's being flipped upside-down until he runs into a beautiful girl who turns out to be his teammates off-limits sister. He's kind, caring, hardworking and loves a good romance book. How perfect can he possibly be?

This story was absolutely cute and had me laughing nonstop. Her reactions reminded me so much of myself. I am a massive sports fan and do random weird things, like hiding under a table 😉 there were sooo many cute parts.
I loved how they handled the twins bday cake, to the easter eggs from her other books she's written.

I love how the time period is the same as book 1. I get to chuckle every time Brie and Josh deny how they feel knowing exactly what happened in book 1 (Not necessary to read first but it's great so you should read it)

The ending was so absolutely sweet I wanted to cry. I. Glad there was no unnecessary drama and that they just got to fall in love with eachother. This story was written perfectly for this couple. Plus Ryder was absolutely a perfect addition and I couldn't stop the giggle I had at the end.

Abby always writes the cutest short stories and you should absolutely read them. I'll read anything she has written.

So if marriage to date, cute meet, no drama falling in love is your cup of tea then you should go read this story now.

Oh, I absolutely loved this book! It’s a fake marriage/hidden identity with a handsome football player and an international best-selling romance author romcom that is written in a most original way with lots of sweet romantic moments and some very hilarious moments too. Susie Owens, sister to Josh Owens of the NFL Mavericks, is the romance author but she “secretly” writes under the name of Amelia Adams and she is also known as NotJOsSis in a chat group called the Blitz Brigade where she often chats with PullTheLine who knows her as Amelia (but not as the author) and she knows him as Chase but he is really Adam Daniels the NFL player that has just been traded from the Jaguars to the Mavericks. You’ve got that, right? If not, don’t worry you will once you get captivated by the storyline. Ok, so we have Amelia and Chase chatting with each other mainly about football and we have Susie and Adam meeting and having an instant attraction but Adam has to honor the bro-code (no getting involved with teammates’ sisters) but they can be friends, right? One other thing I must mention, Adam is Canadian and is in the U.S. on a VISA…unfortunately his manager’s assistant failed to renew it and now the only way Adam can stay in the U.S. is to marry a citizen. Hmmm…and now the story begins to really become a page-turner.
“The scene with her under the table—I laughed so hard I cried. It’s hilarious!” And I couldn’t agree more! A quote from the book but I had actually written the exact same words down in my notes chapters before this quote was written in the book. Honestly, I shook my head in awe that the author knew how her readers were going to react when they read the table scene and trust me…you will laugh. I’ve never seen this in any other book I’ve read…creatively original. There are so many romance books to read and I’ve read quite a few but this was one of those that just hit all the right things for me without needing anything spicier than kisses.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Susie was an international best -selling author ,she loved to go to write her novels in her Town’s library or on a cafeteria.
She changed her name because she doesn’t want people to know about her success.
One day while she was writing her mind went blank ,she couldn’t write and she was frustrated.
She sent a massage to a guy she was chatting in a chat group they gave each other a false name.
Adam is a football player he was a twin,he and his brother were always playing on the same team but he was traded to Mavericks on Pleasant Hollow.
When he arrived in town he felt alone because all his life he was with his twin brother, before he went to practice he went for coffee there he met Susie while she was with her friend, she introduced herself and said that her brother is Josh that plays in his team.
He liked her already because she’s funny and he knew already that she’s off limits if he’s going to be friends with her brother.
Every month he ,his sister and sister in law have a video book chat ,they were fans of an author called Amelia.
Susie was confused because she likes both guys, but she didn’t know chase in person only in chat and the Adam is off limits.
But when she’s is writing her books and she was blank she just think of them and her mind works.
One day she asked chase to meet he didn’t answered immediately but to her surprise he accepted.

Woow this book gives you the goosebumps.
The story makes you to live the whole story in person.
I highly recommend it to who loves reading romance.

Plot: When Susie meets Adam for the first time, she is smitten. Like rambling forever, hide under the table, doesn’t-know-when-to-shut-up smitten. Adam also finds her just as beautiful. When their online personas decide to meet, they are both shocked to learn that they already know each other. When Adam proposes a marriage of convenience, they both are forced to acknowledge their feelings. What will happen if Susie agrees? Can they be happy? What will their families think? Will her secret get out?

What I liked: I liked that Adam and Susie had such a natural connection. It was fun to read their story and know the details of Brie and Josh at the same time. It was great to learn how well Adam treated Susie and how much they longed to be with one another. The way they admitted their feelings for one another was so sweet.

What I didn’t like: I didn’t like that the librarian outed her secret to Adam, but I don’t think it was a super big deal, considering they didn’t gossip about it either.

Swearing: none

Physical intimacy level: closed door, swoony kisses

Star rating: 4 stars

Trope: sports romance, forced proximity, strangers to lovers, marriage of convenience, fake dating, hidden identity, online dating (kinda)

Rating: 4.5

Overview: When pro football player Adam learns his visa has expired, his only shot at staying in the country is a fake marriage. But when Chase offers her a marriage of convenience, things get complicated fast. With secrets, sparks, and one very real connection, Susie must decide if love is worth risking everything.

Our Thoughts: Adam and Susie are a fun couple who instantly connected and built a great friendship, which led to their relationship! It was fun to see Josh and Brie's story from another angle as they happened simultaneously. We love a sweet sport romance and you will find it wil this book! The cherry on top is that Adam fell first!

Problem Solving is Never Easy . . .

Susie Owens, aka international best-selling author Amelia Adams, enjoys doing her writing at the Pleasant Hollow Library, but today it isn’t helping her. Her deadline is approaching but the continuous writers’ block has still not lifted. As she continues staring at the blank screen in front of her, dropping her head in her hands, everything feels hopeless. So she decides to head home for now. She feels a buzz from her phone and reads a general notification from a football chat group she is in, commenting about Josh Owens (her older brother) not having a good season. That wasn’t exactly true, but she did know something was bothering him. Even their dad noticed. Then she sends a message to Chase, but he hasn’t been responding lately.

Adam Daniels gets a call to tell him the Jaguars are trading him to the Mavericks. His agent, Finn Mitchell, assures him this will help his career. But it will be the first time he hasn’t played football with his twin, Steve, and it has shaken him up, along with the uncertainty, rejection, fear, and disliking change of any kind. So he flew to the Bahamas to clear his head and stopped answering his phone. Fortunately, Finn would not give up until Adam answered then told him to call his brother who was worried about him. Finn also ignored Adam’s wanting an apartment far away from the stadium and players. Instead, he bought him a farmhouse close to the stadium, knowing Adam had loved his grandparents’ farm and might be willing to move in and give it a try. He texted Adam a picture and the place was perfect! When “Chase” saw the message from “NotJOsSis” (he knows as Amelia), “PullTheLine” finally told her that he’s had a rough few days. He told her team changes were coming, but Susie’s brother Josh had already told her that the Mavericks would be getting the awesome Adam Daniels on their team, “the best offensive lineman in the league” -- and his cheeks warmed at her comment. She still doesn’t know Adam and Chase are the same person; and he doesn’t know this is Susie. But she did notice this chat was not like their usual chats and she was sure something had upset him; but she let it go. Meeting with Brie Woodbury the next day at the coffee shop, Susie saw Adam Daniels walk in and is stunned how handsome he is in person! And Brie had an identical reaction! When Adam talked to Finn as he drove to the stadium, he told him he met Josh Owen’s little sister at the coffee shop; and Finn immediately responded that Adam and Josh are going to get along just fine -- as long as he didn’t try to marry Josh’s sister...

Finally settling in with the new team, Adam, who is still a Canadian citizen, can’t believe that his visa has expired because Finn’s old assistant “may not have sent in the
paperwork”. Now his only recourse is to get married or deported. There is only one woman who comes to mind who might save him (since Josh made it clear that Susie was off-limits), so “Chase” messages her and asks if they can meet in person. This may be the cure to her writer’s block when Susie/Amelia finds out who he really is, especially since she has feelings for both “Chase” AND Adam and those feelings have caused her writer’s block to come back! Adam catches on first, walks up to Susie, and says “Hi, Amelia – I’m Chase” as she stares at him in shock. Does this mean the “marriage of convenience” plan is ruined? Could they convince Josh to go along with it? And did Josh and Brie really just walk into the coffee shop as Susie dives under the table to hide???? (How many readers are still hoping that they might actually get their HEA? Stop laughing, grab your copy, and find out where this will end up!)

This book combines 2 things I really love - romance books and football. The FMC, Susie, is a secret romance author who is having difficulty writing. Since she loves football (her brother plays professionally), she gets on a forum an strikes up a conversation with a random guy about the sport. She has no idea he's her brother's teammate, who she secretly likes.

Adam has moved from Canada to play football and has just been traded to a new team. He feels a bit lost since he typically plays with his twin. But then he meets Susie and falls for her. When he finds out his work visa has expired, he is inspired to ask Susie to be his "wife"

This is a cute story and it was so nice catching up with characters from previous books.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This story’s plot, while leaning on beloved romance tropes like “fake relationship” and “best friend’s sibling,” stands out with its engaging execution and delightful twists.

The slow burn between the protagonists is well-paced, offering plenty of moments that are both touching and funny.

The characters are the novel’s strongest asset.

Susie Owens shines as the protagonist, grappling with her creative block and feelings for the charismatic yet reserved Adam Daniels.

Their chemistry feels authentic, enriched by sharp dialogue and heartfelt interactions.

However, at times, the exposition can feel heavy-handed, and the narrative over-explains character motivations.

Overall, Accidentally Falling For My Fake Wife is a delightful read that delivers laughs, romance, and emotional resonance, leaving readers turning pages until the end.

I'm telling you right now Abby is one of my favorite authors. Her writing style draws you into the story.
I really enjoyed this read. Adam and Susie's story. Adam is traded to the Maverick's football team in America, he's a Canadian. He's not happy about being separated from his twin, but soon finds a reason to stay. Susie is an author and thinks no one knows her secret. However, the whole town has known for 4 years. She's surprised. Adam's Visa runs out so he and Susie decided to get married. Neither know how much they are into each other until later. I encourage you to read this book/series.

Adam is having a rough couple of weeks, first getting traded to another pro football team, then finding out his visa is expired. Susie, a best-selling author with a bad case of writers block and conflicted between two men that she likes.

I really enjoyed the instant connection and chemistry between Adam and Susie. The banter between them as their friendship grows into something more is great. The family bond and relationship that both Adam and Susie have is sweet.

This was a cute short clean read with kisses only.

This is book two in the Accidentally in Sports series.

Loved it

I loved Susie and Adam. Their chemistry is great and parts of the book had me laughing pretty hard. Adam feels like his world is ending when he's traded to a different football team without his twin. To make matters worse, he also finds out that his visa has expired. He decides to ask his online friend Amelia to be his fake wife. Once he arrives at the designated meeting place, he's surprised to find out who Amelia really is. He's even more surprised when she agrees to his idea. This book has some wonderful characters and I really liked the ending, especially Ryder.

Read Dec. 2024 and again today. I loved how Susie hides herself as an author from alonst everyone. Then Adam comes to town after having played with his twin Steve on anothe hockey team. He now plays for the Mavericks and when he first meets Susie in the cafe it is love at first sight for both. What I loved about Adam was how he was reading romance books by her and hiding them from her not knowing who she was! Josh, Susie's brother, also played on the Mavericks and told him he could not date his sister! Good luck with that!

“Accidentally Falling for My Fake Wife” by Abby Greyson
-A sweet and humorous spin on the fake marriage trope. I received a free copy of this book from the author. The story follows Adam, a football player facing visa issues, and Susie, a secret romance author battling writer’s block, as they navigate their arranged marriage with surprising chemistry and sweet moments. Overall, it’s a clean, slow-burn romance that offers plenty of laughs and swoon-worthy moments. This is my honest opinion, freely shared.

This is book 2 in the series was way better what I expected!! Adam and Susie are side characters in book 1 but the main characters in this one. I love the concept of this book’s plot because it is taking place at the exact same time as book 1! There are clear moments when something happens in this book that was in book 1, and you get to see Adam and Susie’s side of it! Their love story is very quick and fast paced. I almost wish it took longer because it is so good. BUT it was really nice to see the fake relationship turning real and Adam and Susie didn’t avoid or deny their feelings.

Accidentally Falling for My Fake Wife

This is a cute marriage of convenience story. Adam plays football and has been traded to a new team only to find out his visa has expired. Susie is an author with writer’s block. She is also an avid sports fan. Susie has connected with Chase in an online sports thread but has never met him and knows absolutely nothing about him. Then she meets Adam. There seems to be chemistry between them but he is off-limits because he is one of her brother’s team mates. Be sure to check this book out for a fun read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 🌶️

I love Abby’s writing! Even more? I love Abby writing sports romance. This interconnected series began earlier this year with Josh and Brie. We met Adam and Susie, even got a glimpse of their future, in this book and I am so happy they got their own story! I think I even messaged Abby asking her if she had plans for them. They needed their own story and Abby wrote them such a good one. I loved getting to see past characters and the ability to get to know Susie and Adam deeper.

What we didn’t find out in the first book of the series is Adam is playing pro football, but on a visa. So when he is traded to a new football team, but his visa is about to expire, he is open to any idea on how he can stay and continue to play. As we do see in book 1 is he and Susie hitting it off and a definite attraction between the two of them. Adam is beyond sweet and far gone for Susie. I loved seeing him fall for Susie and navigating his team and her brother.

Susie is a secret best selling author. Not many people know, but now she has a looming deadline and a severe case of writer’s block. A dash of drama is thrown our way by Abby when we discover that Susie is interested in two men in this story! Adam holds her thoughts, but as her brother’s teammate, he’s off limits. Until he isn’t anymore. I loved Susie’s sass in this story and seeing her and Brie back together. Their friendship is amazing.

I will always rave about Abby’s books as she had figured out how to deliver sizzle, but keep it kissing only. As an avid romance reader, one would think no spice would mean boring. Nope! Abby draws her readers in with flirting, heated glances, scalding chemistry, and kisses that make your toes curl. I always know I will enjoy reading her work, but am always amazed by how much I enjoy each story! I hope to see more in this sports world and for Abby to spread out into other sports.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

Of the many editing and structural issues here, it's not truly stand alone, because it absolutely assumes you've read the first one. With zero explanation it starts talking about her best friend and brother fake dating, which is the plot of the first one. I can forgive a lot of things, but I literally had to go back and make sure I didn't accidentally skip a chapter. I didn't. It's just confusing.

Incredibly Sweet

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I only picked it up because it was on sale for free. However I feel like I got the better deal because it was a wonderful book that was not only humorous, but sweet, and romantic too. And while it is a “sports” story, it didn’t get too bogged down in game details. Overall, if you’re looking for a clean romance (kissing only), I think you should check this book out.

Sweet, contemporary romance

Romance, sweet, contemporary, sports, football; series but stand alone read
Susie and Adam’s story started out as an attraction until they realized they knew each other. Adam’s visa snafu ramped up their relationship status, that they both realized was more than a surface attraction.
Lovely sweet, fall, more of a 3.5 for me as a reader, but rounded up for the two honest hearts, one of my favorite character tropes.

This is book 2 in the accidentally in sports series. You do not need to read the first book but it makes it fun to see that this book is actually happening simultaneously. I actually didn’t realize it until I was over half way through this book. So for those who know Briosh it’s fun as you get to say their story again from the outside. Adam and Susie are the cutest. There is still brothers best friend trope as with other books by this author butI like the twist of marriage of convenience. I don’t want to ruin it but the friendship, longing and sweet romance that happens between these two are so good!

I loved everything about this! It's a swoony kisses-only, secret pen pals, fantasy football/ football superstar, small town, brothers teammate and so much more. This story happens at the same time ans her other book, "Accidentally in Love with My Best Friend's Brother." The way she has the characters intertwined and their stories playing out made this so so good. I’m a big fan of this author and have read all of her books. I can’t wait for the next one!

Never trust a book cover

As a writer, I thought it was a great behind the scenes look at a writer's uncalloused surprise at the real time affects of being love smacked by a real life situation. His series of misfortunes invaded her well oiled mundanity of life and they simply made the best of it in the best way.

What a fun story! The chemistry between Susie and Adam was palpable, and I loved the element of the secret identity. Abby always has such great depth of character and her supporting cast is tremendous!

Wonderful, second book in the series, but it can certainly stand alone. You should definitely check this one out!
