A selection of Buddhist poems that look at vegetarianism as compassion for animals - much to think about even for those who do not follow this way of life.
I picked up this sweet little book at the city of 10,000 Buddhas in Ukiah on my last visit. It's very short in English and Chinese with illustrations that are darling. The little poems are very thoughtful and this makes a nice memento of the Dharma Realm Buddhist philosophy.
Unique and touching book. I greatly enjoyed the poems. Compassion for animals and choosing a gentler way of life has deep roots in world traditions--it isn't a new trend at all.
