A blind sculptor. A satyr bodyguard. A dangerous plan to expose a criminal empire.

Aceon doesn’t care for holidays—or humans. As a satyr bodyguard, his job is to keep his clients alive and his emotions out of the equation. But Satin, a blind sculptor with a biting wit and a deadly secret, isn’t like any client he’s ever had.

She’s stolen a list that could expose the corrupt empire that destroyed her family, and now assassins are closing in. From Moscow’s glittering Winter Galas to high-stakes casinos in Morocco, Aceon and Satin must outsmart and outfight a relentless enemy while navigating a connection that’s as dangerous as it is undeniable.

Their mission is protect the list, expose the truth, and stay alive long enough to see Christmas.

I’ve really come to enjoy this author’s works and Guarded by the Krampus was no different. I love the whole world she has built around the Monster Security Agency, and how characters from previous stories appear here and there to interact in whatever story is current.

I enjoyed the dynamic between Aceron and Satin in this one. One of my favorite things is the monster MMC’s point of view in these stories, and getting an inside look at Aceron’s thoughts in this one had me chuckling at how much of a horn dog he was for Satin.

Although I enjoy the certainty the character’s experience when they find/detect their mate, I guess I was just expecting a little more story to this one. This was a little shorter than some of the other stories so maybe that’s why things felt a little rushed, but I suppose I was expecting there to be more interaction and building of tension between the MMC and FMC before they got physical. That’s something that I’ve enjoyed in previous MSA stories that was slightly lacking in this one. But make no mistake— this was still really good and I would love to see more of these characters!

I received an ARC of this from the author and it was great timing because I had just finished what I had been reading, so I could jump right into this. And I have to say. Considering that she literally knocked this book out in a handful of days, it was really good. Yes, it was definitely short. And yes, it did have missing words here or there. But I have read books before that desperately needed more editing or just better writing in general that took WAY longer to be written. So, gold star to her.

Did I like this book? Yes. Did I love it? No. Maybe because it was short, I felt like it was missing some important details. But the characters were pretty solid, the action believable, and the smexy times were fun. It was a little unrealistic that these two fall in love as fast as they do, but given the genre, it's not unexpected at all. And I absolutely loved how Sylas makes an appearance at the end like he does. His blatant disregard for human life is always great to read about.

Our client this time around is world famous blind sculptor named Satin. But I was thrilled to learn her real name was Sarah because the name Satin just bugged the crap out of me for some reason. She comes to the agency looking for a bodyguard more or less. She has some seriously damning information that she must get leaked to various news sources before Christmas and this has a super powerful group of people after her life. Here's the first thing that was missing. What was this information?? If we were told, I completely missed that paragraph, and that's my bad. I feel like it had something to do with her father's murder but I just don't remember being told exactly what it was. So basically she needs someone to protect her as she travels the globe in her private jet making her information drops.

Ace is the one currently on shift at the agency when she walks in. He hates the Christmas season because he's a satyr and that comes with all sorts of assumptions that people make. Though some are true. As it goes, he's immediately taken with her and blows off Royce and his regulations to follow Sarah.

Like I said, the action here was mostly believable and it kept the story going well. These two get ambushed at the first two drops, leaving only one more chance. But they need to change their plans if they're going to be successful. And that's where Sylas comes in. Honestly, the last 20% of the book was the best. And I did just love Ace's last comment about how he's going to show up at the company party next year.

All in all, this was a fun short read.

“You know what they say.” “No—what’s that?” “Uh…monsters are a roar—and never a bore.” She laughed, and then she pushed me. “No one says that.” I laughed back. “You’re right. I just didn’t expect you to call me out. I panicked.”

Aceon, Ace, is Satyr and he’s so lonely. He can’t help how large he is or how scared humans are of him. He loves his job but wishes for a family of his own. Enter the mysterious sculptor known as Satin who needs a bodyguard for a secret spy mission.

These stories are so silly and very fast reads. It’s all about these monster finding their HEA and having lots of sex in the process of confessing their love. This one was especially crazy during the sexy times since he’s a satyr. Hahaha.

3.5 stars: This s was a cute short story and I have to say that discovering more about each of the species is an enjoyable experience. Satin is a blind sculpture, who hires Aceton, a satyr, to keep her safe. These two come together quite nicely and although things develop fast, they both are open to the opportunity to have something more meaningful in their life. The slight Christmas vibes add to the entire idea of getting a little miracle surprise for the holidays and Aceton finds exactly what he has been missing in this life, a partner to cherish.
This is not a complex, emotionally charged book, but it is a fun one to read and I do appreciate a hassle free story every now and again.

What’s better than monster romance? Holiday monster romance of course! This one was less Christmas specific- though it’s talked about, but it’s truly more seasonal with the MMC being Krampus.

I ended up really enjoying this book much to my surprise. I found that the modern storyline paired really well with the monster MMC to bring a unique world into play. Readers end up getting a decent thriller plot and some pretty hot scenes. The world building isn’t the greatest but for this genre I’m really not too focused on that. For the page amount we get I think this is a solid story that allows for more exploration with later books.

The spice was nothing wildly inhuman, enough to scratch the itch per se but remains mild enough for readers who aren’t totally into monster romance (yet). I’d be more than willing to read additional books and learn more about the agency!

Disappointing despite some fun moments. Note that he’s technically a satyr, not a Krampus.

What’s good: the banter early on is fun and snappy, and his chain solution is hilarious, brilliant, and sexy AF.

Disappointments?
The book felt rushed. I want back story! What kinds of corruption? How did she gather the data? How did she become a spy? Who was the mole in her organization? What’s Aceon’s past?

My biggest problem is that the chemistry is off. It’s so instalove/instalust that you don’t get to know either Satin or Aceon very well. I don’t, as a reader, understand why she’s attracted to him, or why he’s so blindsided by her.

It’s weird that the title is Krampus and not Guarded by the Satyr. There’s very little Krampus-ness for it to be featured in the title.

"I've never felt anything so right before, in my entire life. She was soft, she was warm, and I knew she was meant for me."~Aceon

What a great holiday surprise from Cassie Alexander.🙆🏻‍♀️ She wrote this cute, quirky, funny novella in a matter of days. That alone deserves some appreciation.🥳🎉🥳🎉👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Wow!!🎄🎄🎄

Monster Security Agency is on another mission. This time we have a satyr named Ace who looks scary, he's this big, and I mean huge, dark intimidating being that gets a lot of stares and well, it weighs on him. He wears a kilt. A chain is hidden somewhere but I will not tell you where.🙊 But even though he looks a certain way, this guy is incredibly sweet and thoughtful. He just tends to keep to himself. Wants to be alone. Which is understandable. Never judge a book by its cover, right? When he meets famous artist Satin, she's vision impaired and needs a bodyguard, this guy forgot all about his plans and accepted the job immediately. Ace to the rescue. He's very overprotective, a little self-conscious but unapologetically himself.

There's a lot of action, some drama, twists, and don't forget the steam and spice.🔥🔥🔥 It's here on overload. Size difference played a huge role and it was not overlooked or afraid to be shared. This story is only told from the POV of Ace. So like him, us readers have no idea what Satin is feeling or what she'll do next. Unless she tells you. And Satin, for some reason I wanted to call her satan,😂😂 her real name is Sarah btw, there's some surprises with her and that sash she wears across her eyes. I won't spoil it. She's very independent and takes no prisoners with anyone or anything. She's direct. She's on a mission and will get it done despite the threats from her enemies. Sometimes she's snappy with Ace but I think if Ace had to set it straight, he would. Their funny banter cracked me up.🤣🤣

"I'm an international spy. I think I can handle a big d***."~Satin aka Sarah

We know the answer to that, don't we Sarah.😝 Busy with her d*** math.bahaha I think there was more to the story that didn't get revealed but was implied. Like that quote I shared. There are some questions but I think it might play out in another future book.🤞🏻 There's not a cliffhanger or anything here. This is a story that's fun, different, OTT with love b/c Ace is madly, crazy in love. He has a big heart and isn't afraid to share his feelings. I liked him. Sarah's okay. I didn't get the impression that she felt as strongly as Ace did. And we get to see Nightmare himself, Sylas.🤩 He's hilarious and such a devoted Dad. No worries Sylas, your secret is safe from Mina.🤫🤭 I really enjoyed this book. It doesn't take itself too seriously. And love, well, that comes in every shape, color, size for a human or a monster. Read it for yourself. Cassie's books are not to be missed. Great book cover!! Happy reading.🖤💙🖤💙

😈🕵🏼‍♀️Thank you to Ms Alexander and Bookfunnel for an early book. The opinions shared here are my own. Come meet Ace and Sarah.🕵🏼‍♀️😈

I wanted to pick this up for the disability rep. The heroine Satin a famous sculptor, is blind and wear a blindfold. She is famous in many circles especially the wealthy ones. The hero, a Krampus (he calls himself a satyr), Aceon "Ace" works at the Monster Security Agency and does not like the holiday season. He is sick of women fetishising him.

He decides unexpectedly to take on a mission to help Satin as she wants to release information on dangerous people as revenge for the death of her father, a diplomat. She lost her sight being exposed to magnesium flares. They jet around the world and she secretly tries to leave information for sources to publish but the danger element is the her enemies task hit man to kill them which is where Aceon comes in to protect her.

This was pretty instalovey and he felt she was his mate very soon after meeting her. She comes across as perfect and confident initially though she seems more down to earth as they spend more time together , the reader later learns that she has metal eye balls to help her discern what is around her. There was steamy and dirty scenes as Krampus are supposed to be inhumanly big and have a big sexual appetite. I think they were okay as a couple, it was very fast though she seems to be into what he is into which is important. They navigate how a lack of sight can affect the way they interact with each other like he has to learn that she cannot see his expressions of gestures and has to think to other ways to help her read him, taking her hand, touching him and him talking to her.

Tropes: Fated mates, body guard romance, forced proximity

Representation:
- Heroine is blind
- Heroine uses mobility aids eg cane, heat sensors in her phone and metal eyes

So, of course this book was amazing…it’s Cassie Alexander!!!
Monsters (with monster body parts😉), and Christmas, and spies… oh my!!! And of course, sweet sweet love!!!

Aceon, a Satyr, works for Monster Security Agency, it’s Christmas time, which he doesn’t enjoy, and he’s itching to get off his last shift before his vacation where he can go be alone, work out and play Call of Duty. With a few minutes left on his shift a woman bursts into the MSA office needing protection…and everything changes for Ace.
Satin is in need of protection from multiple assassins…And she’s blind, and she’s a world famous sculptor…And to Ace…she’s immediately special. It turns out Satin is a spy, and she’s trying to disseminate info on a network of high profile crooks and bad guy’s, to be simultaneously broadcast from 3 different continents at the same time all before Christmas Eve, in order to avenge the death of her father (the same incident that caused her blindness). She enlists the help of Ace in her quest, but the first two drops do not go well…and they realize they’ve been infiltrated…how will they get the info out in time? Will they both survive? Can Ace convince Satin that she’s his mate at the same time?

Of course this is a Cassie Alexander book so the sexy times are pretty spicy…and”monstery” If you get what I mean. Ace turns out to be incredibly sweet, a little unsure of himself and his own worth as a mate…there’s a ton of action and suspense in this one, and of course a HEA. Satin Is strong, very smart, and pretty sassy. There’s a lot of humor between them too which was really cute. Overall an awesome book. 🥰🥰🥰.

Blind sculptor and her Satyr bodyguard

Cassie Alexander has written another brilliant monster romance story, with a Christmas theme, which has great humor and spice ❤️‍🔥.

Aceon is a Satyr and dislikes Christmas. He's looking forward to his shift ending and taking holiday but when a blind sculptor enters the office looking for protection, he surprises everyone (including himself) when he won't let anyone else take the job.

"She got here at six-twenty-nine … either she's my next job and you get paid, or I'm on vacation and going freelancing"

Satin has got information on a dangerous organisation who had her father killed when she was five. She'd been blind ever since and is used to being treated as an invalid, though Ace sees past that and just wants to help her achieve her goal. She's trying to get the information made public to take them down and assassins after her so needs the MSA's help and protection.

But the more time he spends with her, the stronger the connection Ace feels towards Satin, and he knows he'll do anything to protect her.

A great story told completely from Ace's POV, with some really dark, giant but caring MCs that you'll love and some great twists. There are plenty of troupes covered: monster/human romance, security, plenty of spice 🌶, a touch of kink, cinnamon roll, and more. The main characters have great chemistry and I loved the humor that Royce, Sirena, Nex and Sylas (Guarded by the Nightmare) added; I particularly loved Nex in this, he seemed to have a great personality.

Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 (rounded up for rating)
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Cassie’s monster romances are some of my favorites and this next installment in the Monster Security Agency did not disappoint! Do I now want an incredibly endearing Satyr who is slightly bashful when it comes to having real feelings to: meet me, recognize me as his mate and want to do everything in his power to make me happy and give me a little something special? Yes. Yes, I do.

This cozy little novella takes you on a fast-paced, action-packed ride that will have you smiling, blushing because the spice is spicing, and laughing at the things that come out of Ace’s mouth.

🎄Monster Romance
❄️Cinnamon Roll Bodyguard
🎄She Wants Justice
❄️He Protects Her At All Costs
🎄Touch Her & ☠️
❄️Undeniable Chemistry 🔥
🎄Sizeable 🤭 Pierced 🍆

What happens when a famous, blind sculptor walks into the MSA headquarters looking for a bodyguard right before Christmas? Aceon, a satyr who dislikes the holidays, immediately takes the job with zero vetting.

Turns out, Satin is being hunted by assassins because of the dangerous plan she concocted to expose a criminal empire responsible for the death of her family. Upon meeting his client with a scathing sense of humor and quick wit, Ace is determined to find out what lies beneath Satin’s well-practiced exterior she presents to others.

While on their mission, Ace and Satin must outsmart a formidable enemy, while determining what they are to one another. Sparks not only fly on the battlefield, but between the bodyguard and his principal, and the risk of losing one another ratchets up at each leg of their journey.

4.5 stars. Ace(on), the male satyr bodyguard lead, has nearly finished his hated available-to-walk-in- queries duty shift when “Satin”, the female human lead, enters. Curious about the blindfold she has around her head and attention unreasonably drawn to her, Ace jumps at the chance to take her request for protection and assistance.

Satin needs to drop duplicated information in several international locations so that corrupt people can be exposed on television and their corruption can’t be masked by powerful others. Those people are obviously determined not to be exposed and Ace needs to keep Satin safe. He also needs to keep his attraction response in check…

This novella is male lead POV, well written and edited, and a funny, fast-paced, action focused, contemporary fantasy, Christmas romance. I enjoyed Ace’s shock at his instinctive response to Satin, and his willingness to take risks to see where it went. I enjoyed that Satin’s disability was not Ace’s focus (or the story’s), and that she was an empowered, active character with agency and a very deliberate plan. I enjoyed the building intimacy between the characters, and was amused at the required physical adjustments. I enjoyed the secondary characters and the banter. I enjoyed the ending.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Guarded by the Krampus is a new Monster Security Agency story that focuses on Satin and Ace.

She is a blind sculptor and Ace is a Satyr, but both are more than that. I loved how there is practically an instant connection between these two. Ace bypasses all business procedure when taking the job Satin offers.

I loved getting to see some previous Monster Security Agency characters, especially Sylas and Serena.

As the danger escalates the steam between these two does as well. While it seems like they could not be any different, they start to get closer and reveal more of themselves to the other.

I enjoyed the story being told from Ace's perspective. It provided nuances to how his life is different from humans with him being a Satyr. Having to always take into account the damage his horns and hooves can do would get old. Helps understand why he has isolated himself. Satin makes him want to move closer, not away.

I enjoyed that while Satin is blind, she is far from helpless. Being underestimated is one of the weapons she uses alongside her smarts to see her mission to the end.

This is another monster couple I would love to see more of!

So happy to spend time with them for the holidays!.

This book was so over the top bonkers, and not in the way I like at all. I've read most of the MSA series - I'm usually HERE for this shit. This, however, was wild.

Pro or con depending on your monsterfucker preferences, but our MMC has a 14" dick that he has to keep chained to his thigh at all times so it doesn't get away from him. Sometimes that would be enough for me with these books, but unfortunately the storyline was a mess. She's being chased, and needs protection? And is trying to deliver data to the world for some reason? What the data is...why it needs to be released...who the people following her are...? It's a mystery. It has to be delivered by Christmas for…reasons??? The reason being this is trying it's hardest to be a Christmas book I think.

Honestly the worst offense is the barnyard references. Look, he's half goat I GET IT. I should have gotten it. What is wrong with me? Our MMC wears "Barn Fresh, for Men” cologne after the FMC states that he smells like a barn. He also describes her taste as "fresh hay eaten under clear stars on a warm night."

Trigger warnings:
Not much honestly beyond the violent attacks and some very mild ableist comments that were misunderstandings.

Just when I thought the Krampus craze had overstayed its welcome, Cassie Alexander swoops in and delivers a laugh-out-loud, utterly irreverent masterpiece that had me glued from page one. Guarded by the Krampus is no cookie-cutter holiday romp—it's a deliciously dark and sexy thrill ride, narrated entirely from the monster’s POV. And let’s be clear: Aceon isn’t even really a Krampus; he’s a Satyr. A leather-kilt-wearing, commando-going, impossibly irresistible Satyr.

Alexander’s signature style shines through in her sharp humor, unapologetically bold characters, and anti-hero charm. Satin (aka Sarah) and Aceon’s chemistry practically crackles off the page, with moments so steamy they’d make even the boldest blush. And yes, there’s a certain detail about what’s tied under that kilt that I’ll let you discover for yourself.

Packed with action, paranormal intrigue, and a hefty dose of spice, this book doesn’t take itself too seriously—and that’s exactly the point. With Sylas making a cameo to top it all off, Guarded by the Krampus is a wickedly funny, dark twist on the typical holiday tale. Think Hallmark, but make it feral. If you love Alexander’s work (and who doesn’t?), this one’s a must-read.

The author decided to write a Christmas story and popped this out 5 days later. It's quite impressive since it didn't go through the editing process or rewrites that a normal novel would.

I always like Cassie's stuff, and love the Monster Security Agency books. This one is no exception.

Aceon is a satyr that's a bit sick of being fetishized and plopped onto every woman's bucket list, and being mistaken for Krampus. Satin is a blind sculptor that's world renown and rich as can be. You'd imagine it'll be a simple case of bad boy monster and sweet girl falling in love while he guards her. Nope. She's a bad girl doing naughty things for revenge, and he's the cinnamon roll monster keeping her alive through it.

The spice is nice, maybe twice as nice with the ridiculous size difference. I especially like that they worked around the size problems without doing the physically impossible like a lot of books will do for fated mates.

The book is much shorter than most MSA entries, but that's okay. It had a plot, action, spice, and fleshed out characters. It also had a cameo from Sylas and his child from one of the previous books.

Fun quick Holiday tale🔥🌟💖

As always this series never fails to entertain ! A new case showed up in the hallowed halls of the MSA and the guard on duty a sayter named Ace. Christmas is not his favorite time of year he looks to much like Krampus for many to accept him and most of his family is gone leaving him alone for the holiday. That is until an extremely elegant and beautiful woman walk through the doors and changed his life forever. "Satin" is a world renowned sculptor. A horrible childhood trauma left her blind and filled with a need for vengeance. now the time for her master loan is at hand, but there are many who would see her fail and will go to extreme lengths to make sure she does.. Ace takes one look at her and something primal runs though him he knows he'll do what ever he must to keep her safe even giving her his heart. Can Ace help Satin fulfill her plan, keep her safe and win her heart? You'll need to read and fin out! Truly a fun read 💖🌟🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥🌟🔥💖💖🌟🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥

The Biggy and the sMall :)
Well my my still crushing on this whole series and adore this author's writing. (the title and the monster kinda threw me but bleh)
Monsters protecting and all that, even though they're rarely rcv'd well by the human race. Still a job is a job yeah.
His job is to protect a well-known renowned artist. As soon as they meet the chem was popping. Even with his boss not happy he goes on his next mission.
She's out to get the bad ones, it won't be easy because she's being followed and they are set on making her just another statical number. Only she has a big bad of her own that's her shadow.
then with them being in close quarters they get to check out if size matters is a real thing. *winks* in the midst of the story a real threat is revealed. It will take a great mind and quick instincts for them both to get out on the upside of a dirt pile.
Good old smexy action. Her story her reason. His feels very much worth the read and we get a little bit of Art lesson. Have fun and Enjoy.

This is my first read from Cassie Alexander, and before I finished I'd already been sneaking off to acquire more in this series!

I wasn't expecting much from this going in - it looked like just a silly seasonal smut tale. I was happily surprised to find myself tearing through the pages, absolutely caught up in the story and committed to our heroes succeeding in their adventure!

The writing is fantastic, with immensely loveable characters (especially the monsters!), and while the plot is pretty basic, it's tremendous fun. The spice is well done too, which is a pleasure in a market that can often seem saturated by monster fiction from authors who don't really care about their protagonists. This is a writer who 100% does, and it shows.

The novella length is perfect, with the pace maintained well but not outstaying its welcome.

Ultimately this was the perfect little surprise in my stocking (Kindle), and I'm so glad there's more to catch up on and look out for.

I was kindly sent an early copy of this book by the author, but the above opinions are entirely my own.

Satin & Aceon

Well that just happened!

I am not going to lie, I read this because it's the eve before Christmas Eve and I thought it would be a joke read. Uhmmmm what I did not expect was, a bit of action/spy adventure, very spicy and funny. Keep in mind this is a short read, but it has a lot in it. And I have to say, I really enjoyed the book...like really enjoyed it!

"Aceon doesn’t care for holidays—or humans.

Their mission is protect the list, expose the truth, and stay alive long enough to see Christmas."

Guarded by the Krampus is an entertaining entry in the Monster Security Agency series by author Cassie Alexander.
MFC Satin is a renowned sculptor and being unable to see hasn’t hindered her artistic talents.
Now the target of international assassins for information she has that can take down members of the international community for accepting bribes from a criminal organization, Satin has turned to the MSA for a bodyguard, and Satyr Aceon takes the mission.
Loved this story which takes place days before the Christmas holiday and is all the time Ace has to assist Satin in retrieving the names of those members from three secured locations.
Lots of action, emotion, adventure, intrigue, humor, suspense, and passion moves through a well written, imaginative story told from Aceon’s POV, and sets the reader down center stage in a wildly engaging read.

Honestly a great Krampus read for the holidays. I am in love with this series, so I may be bias, but this book is probably my top Krampus read this season.

I loved both the characters, and this definitely had a lot of mystery in the book on why the FMC needed protection. Some of the books in the series, you knew right away the details, but the details were revealed at the end. No plot twist, but definitely a sense of conclusion to the story.

Also, can we get a round of applause for a realistic scene when a true monster 🍆 is involved with a human sized body?! 👏👏👏👏👏 Well done!

A very short read for a quick Krampus book, and may even get you hooked on the Monster Security Agency series.

Well the cover is HOT and looks kinda BDSM-ish😂
In reality the FMC is blind and wears the blindfold to hide her eyes instead of glasses, etc. Also slightly less kinky is the fact that MMC is NOT Krampus but a Satyr.
Anyway the story was sort of goofy with them flying around the world being chased by assassins when there had to be a much easier less dangerous way to do things. Anyway, the FMC needed a bodyguard and Ace the Satyr volunteered. I wasn’t really feeling their soul-deep connection mostly because it just felt like they were hooking up between danger. In the end I guess they were in love and had a HEA (not much epilogue).
I’m a monster romance fan and while this wasn’t fantastic, it felt like a good addition to the Monster Security Agency Series. I’m definitely going to grab more from this series, especially the Nightmare, who appeared a lot in this story.

Guarded by the Krampus: Monster Security Agency is a suspenseful and definitely a page turning paranormal romance. This book is beautifully written, well balanced and perfectly executed by Cassie Alexander. Cassie Alexander continues to prove to me what a brilliant author she is with each book that I have read by her so far. I’m looking forward to reading more amazing romances from this author in the future. The characters are well developed and beautifully executed throughout the story. This book follows the story of Ace and Sarah whom I found to be fascinating and intriguing at the same time. This book is one that I would give as a recommendation for anyone who is looking for a suspenseful holiday paranormal romance to read.
