Cold Cases Solved 11…
The discovery of DNA and how it can be used to solve crimes is nothing short of remarkable. The 18 cases in this volume are almost all solved decades later by the evolution of the use of DNA. Testing has come a very long way from that original case in England.
The 18 cases in this volume are completely unknown to me, which is unusual. The ID channel and Forensic Files series have covered a lot of unknown cases. ID also has had cold case programs. For a while, I watched a lot of that channel and those programs.
In this volume there are a few female violence victims that are a result of having “rejected” a coworker. This is so disturbing because you never know how someone will react. And unfortunately these women became victims of these nut jobs.
As usual, the cases are told as succinctly as possible. This author can churn out these stories fairly quickly.
Recommended for those who want their true crime stories told in a nutshell.

The cases are compelling…
But someone desperately needs to do some additional proofreading. As a true crime reader, I’ve read a lot of this author’s books. Overall, they’re interesting, fascinating cases, but the books contain a myriad of proofreading mistakes…wrong names, misspelling of names, mathematical errors relating to ages and dates, and other mistakes. Given that true crime is a detail-oriented genre, these mistakes are distracting.
Also - again having read a lot of books by this author who is incredibly prolific (which may be the reason for the aforementioned proofreading errors), and has written a number of book series, I think it would be interesting to see this author do a series on people who were wrongfully convicted and exonerated by the DNA and other modern investigative techniques. Not everyone who is convicted of a crime is actually guilty of that crime and many “monsters” have turned out to be innocent.

why Do We as a Society show Compassion for these Monsters?
It is a sad commentary on our society that all most all these victims are women. There has to be greater protections for women and the perpetrators should be harshly punished.

Absolutely love his style of writing....... Concise and informative yet still on a personal level with the victims....definitely an excellent read!
