Luke Brothers #2

Unexpected Second Chances

Rate this book
Ebo Luke is fresh off a devastating divorce and feeling like love is no longer an option, however he quickly learns that sometimes no matter what you want or believe, the universe has a different plan for you.

For most, love is simply a fairytale. Those who truly want and deserve to have their hearts protected always seem to come up short. That has been Simira’s experience and for that reason her focus is on the only person who has ever loved her unconditionally, her son.

Ebo and Simira have given up all hope but that is when things begin to turn in their favor. When you stop looking for and expecting love, it occasionally finds its way to you.

This was a great book that needed a happy ending with everything that happened with the eldest Luke Brother. See most men have an aversion to getting married welp, that’s not EBO (Ighbo’s) story. He didn’t have that issue…it was something else. When he finally found that person, she came with some hurdles as well (not gonna spoil it).
Anyway, it was good to see how it started, how it was going and how it ENDED.

This was about a guy named Ebo who got divorced from a cheating wife. He offered his beach house to a young lady he met and they fall in love.

I love second chance love stories.

The Luke brothers are cool guys who would be fun to know. I've enjoyed each one 100%. In this story, we met Sim and her son Jax who was running away from a terrible situation. They landed next door to a man named Ebo, and the best was yet to come in this beautiful love story.

Give Us a Chance

Sim and Ebo were like a cold glass of water on a hot summer day; refreshing.

I love that Ebo saw a mother with her son and they needed help, so he did just that. There was no ill intent behind his kind deed. I'm glad that he kept his ex-wife Van at a distance. She was crazy and I love that he let Sim hear their conversation so she could see that he not only never wanted his ex again, yet that she was a liar and disgust him. The bond that he has with his brothers Lenox and Luv just continues to grow and even though Ebo is the oldest, he still gives respect to his brothers. The teasing they all do to each other is very funny. I'm glad that he stuck to his word with Sim, never rushing anything and protecting her and her son Jax. I can't wait for more of these two.

My heart immediately went out to Sim. She was leaving an abusive relationship with a young son and no family to help or support her. I was so disgusted with her mom😒. I'm glad Sim let go of what they didn't have and I hope she never allows that woman into her or her kids lives. The way that Sim let Ebo help her, and saw that he truly just wanted to help, had her feeling all kinds of sweet ways towards him and I don't blame her. I hate that she let his ex get into her head, yet Ebo shut that down super quick. These two belong with each other and I need more.

This was such a filling story, even being so short. Can't wait to read about Mr. Lenox Luke. This should be very interesting.

Great read. Highly recommend this series.

Enjoyed this short story. Again this author gets straight to it. Ebo and Sim were cute. The story line its self is super understandable and relatable. Now maybe not the moving her in the way he did part but he was a good man and offered what he felt was a break.

Feelings grow strong when you have nothing to lose and when you’re not even looking for it. The pair complemented each other in the ways that they are looking for the other person without even knowing each other‘s story I loved how he stood up for her on all accounts and her situation might’ve been a little bit more trickier than his and didn’t deter him or change his outlook of being a genuinely good person honesty is the best policy and I loved that they were able to be honest and vulnerable and just seeing where things would go. Always a little trickier when kids are involved. I feel like the author did a great job including the Child..

I was so smitten with this storyline! It was adorable lol. Ebo naturally stepped into the role of provider and protector the moment he realized Simira was in distress. Masculine energy was immediately activated, and he was the practical version of a knight in shining armor! I was so proud of him lol.

Simira’s maternal instincts told her it was past time to get out of a really bad situation. But unfortunately she hit a hurdle almost instantly. When Ebo extended help with no strings attached, Simira was rightfully apprehensive, being a mom along with never experiencing real, unconditional love. But she trusted her gut once again and accepted the help.

This novella was filled with emotional IQ, natural and believable attraction, authentic moments of vulnerability and passion, and the cutest HEA. I can definitely see myself rereading. And I wouldn’t be mad if this particular couple got a full novel to see how their relationship continues to blossom.

Yep Ebo is my favorite Luke brother!!

Ebo is what we all desire in a man. Hard working, motivated, mostly in tune with his emotions, affectionate, caring, bomb sex and about building for his future. Sim definitely received a blessing in disguise when she met Ebo. Even though this story was short and sweet and to the point, it gave me everything I needed to truly fall in love with Ebo. And his ex Van was definitely crazy to do all she was doing. Should have had that same energy when you were married to him. Had it all but it still wasn't enough for you. I'm ready to see what Lennox immature self got going. He is my least favorite of the 3 brothers but Ebo is definite book bae lol

Don't you just love kindness?
From the start to the finish of this book, I was engulfed in warm fuzzy feels because I wanted Ebo to find that peace within himself but also in a relationship where he was an equal to his partner.
Sim came out of the blue and I loved her and her son.
She got a man who isn't shy about showering her with love, kindness and appreciation along with a bucketfil of patience and I was right there for it.
The slow burn od their relationship was so well-written.
K.C Mills is legit a stumble upon and I already love her writing style. There's just something about mellow but deep humane characters.

Second time around! Yes Ebo! So glad he got rid of that leech Van, as he was too good of a man to deal with her! Ebo was a man, who was so in tune with his feelings and emotions. Had a pure and genuine heart, that wanted to experience "real" love and family. The way he was so accomodating to Sim and her situation, and how he cared for Jax is what a man does! Their story was so heartfelt because although they had both been hurt before, they allowed themselves another chance at love. Such a sweet story! Good job! 👍👍👍

unexpected but perfect for them

These two were at a crossroads in their lives - divorced and fleeing a toxic relationship. They were both in transition - him coming out of his d slanging phase and her trying to get her life in order on her own and for her son.

“Sometimes you just don’t have a clue about what you need until it lands right in your lap and that’s how I felt about my life now. To anyone who doesn’t believe in second chances, I’d have to call them crazy because when I unexpectedly walked into mine, I walked right into my forever!”

Great read

The second story of the Luke brothers focuses on the eldest of the three Ebo Luke. Ebo has been burned and disappointed by love. After his divorce his main focus is to start his entrepreneurship journey. When he least expects it, love shows up in his neighborhood’s driveway.

Simira left a past of emotional abuse and distress. Leaving on a whim with little funds and no plans landed her back to her estranged parents’ driveway. Desperate with no place to go, she unwillingly agreed to a stranger’s kindness.

Main themes:
Broken hearts
Love redemption
Crazy exes

These brother's don't play when they love

All I can say about the Luke brother's is they don't play when they fall in love. This series isn't drawn out over a long explanation of who and why they are the way they are, right to the point. I love this new short style but detailed writing concept this author is giving us. Ebo, let his heart lead him, Sim let her mind take her away straight to love. Lennox at this point is a lost cause. Very good read.

You go K.C.!

Girl! You did the damn thing with this one! Ebo is every woman's dream and fine to boot! I love how just him being the good guy he was was all that was needed. Sims parents are some bull, but she didn't need that added negativity in her life anyway. I just knew Ebo was gonna let them have it, but it wasn't necessary. Good book MS. Mills! Onto Lenox and his player self!

Awwwww 🥰

I’m loving the Luke brothers. I’m a real sucker for love so this is just everything to me. I’m looking forward to Lennox finding true love too. Ebo was Sim’s saving grace, just what she needed at the moment and then bammmmm they discover they both needed each other. I literally smiled so much throughout this book. Another great read I’m on to book 3. Amazing work as always 💟

Good read.. liked book 1 better 😁

Ok, so while Sim and Ebo were a cute couple, I’m not sure if I buy the whole’ save a hoe (not a hoe in Sim’s case) romance’. This book also did a weird time-lapse thing where Sim’s parents were gone for a long ass time! Ebo was that dude, even though his character went through some major changes since book 1. He and Sim deserved a second chance at love.

Loved being reunited with Luv and T’air 🥰

Second go around

Didnt think he would be next but loved how he loved. Wished this go around she was all in just based on how he showed his love...
Her mother was a mess, should've went to Daddy he was out and about he'd helped.
Lenox up next he better be living it up in these streets. He has a lot of finding to do...

Amazing Read

Ebo meeting Sim was nothing but fate. He'd decided he was done with love after his marriage, but Sim and Jax showing up changed his life completely. They both were flawed, but learned to love one another in spite of one another's flaws. Truly amazing job, KC! Can't wait to read about Lennox.

Love Unexpected Second Chances

I just loved Ebo story, I loved the way he was with Jax and I love how he was scared but yet at the same time he was willing to give Love a second chances. A lot of us don’t believe in second chances when it comes to love but Ebo & Sim gave love a second chance.

Unexpected Second Chances (Luke Brothers Book 2)

What an unexpected story. Corporate Lawyer Ebo Luke, the oldest of the Luke brothers was newly divorced and done with relationships. Enters Simira (Sim) and her adorable 3 year old son Jax and the rest is history. Interesting characters in a very charming story that leads to a second chance for both Ebo and Sim.

Ebo and Sim where two broken souls and I loved to see them trust themselves and each other to find their forever ❤️. That was really good

I must say to be a quick read which is what I thought I sure got more than i bargain for. This was a really good story full of life lessons but not too much crime action which is fine but I also know maybe hard to do. I really enjoyed the journey with the Luke brothers. Hope to read more about them in the future.

Happy reading

Once burned its hard go trust again. Was very interesting go see how small steps can carry you a long way. Loved how the author wove the story, sharing the tragedy of two fragile people and Vice them hope in a newly found relationship. It was Good to see love bloom and trust sprout between Ebo and Sim!

Dual perspective, his and hers. Again, these aren't exactly my preferred books, butter a quick and dirty read, they nail it. Formatting drove me batty. I love that each book is so different. She frustrates me (a lo) but that's pretty typical for me. Super steamy in parts of the book. Again, I love that the characters carryover from one book to the next.
