I have watched him, a man who is both beautiful and broken. Like me, he is a prisoner of my father, but the only distinction is that he wears chains. I know that if I’m found anywhere near him, I will face punishment, and if I’m discovered with him, my life is over. Yet everything in me yearns to risk it all for him.
Scar
A sacrifice for the woman I love and for my brother in arms. My life so they can live theirs. I find myself on the brink of breaking, ready to give up everything, until she arrives; my angel.
Both are trapped, controlled, and enduring an unbearable hell. What sacrifices must be made for them to secure their freedom? Or will the risk be too high to pay?
Scar is a dark MC romance recommended for readers 18 and over.
I'm a self published author. I fell in love with reading as an adult, when I found the romance genre. I immediately got sucked into the stories and fell in love. The romcom, the dark, the Suspense, all of them!
I struggled a lot with reading and writing when I was younger. Being dyslexic made it extremely hard for me, but I loved writing stories even then.
I wrote Rise Above in secret too scared and embarrassed that it wasn't good enough, that people would laugh at it, at me. My husband pushed me to take the leap. So I did. Not having an editor to start with and a friend making my cover it scary jumping into a world your unsure of what to do. Learning as I go. Its the best decision I ever made. The response was amazing. I am currently working on the rest of the series. And plan on writing until I run out of words. I love it and one thing I've learnt is you only live once and you should to do what you love and what makes you happy. I hope that people enjoy my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.

Oh my gosh where do I start this mc romance was out of this world brilliant as are all the book by this author. The storyline certainly sucks you in from the start and the characters were amazingly put together. I found it difficult to put the book down once I started it, I loved how the characters came together. L.G Campbell is a fantastic author and as always it was an exceptional read.
Scar - Is held in Captive in a dark basement, he is beaten, malnourished and very weak. He meets his Angel who is his saviour from being held Captive. After meeting his angel, can she save him? Will Scar get back to his MC brothers?
Elsie - Is a lonely kind hearted soul, she heard her fathers Captive is being starved, she sneaks down to him with food and water. Her life with her parents is awful, she sacrifices herself to be engaged to her fathers right hand man to save the guy who her father held captive, she bonded with him and wanted to save him from their tutoure.
This book is beautifully written, it grips you hook line and sinker, it's gritty, it's dark and smutty!
This isn't the first book of this authors I have read and it most certainly will not be the last!
I loved it from start to finish and cannot wait for the next book, this is the ninth book in the Black Hearts Mc series. I haven't read the first 7 yet, buy can't wait to read their stories.
As always please read the authors notes with trigger warnings in!

I absolutely loved Scar’s book. Sometimes it can take me awhile to get into a book, but not only this book, but this whole series had my full attention and couldn’t wait to get to the next one, at the same time not wanting it to end.
This MC family is definitely part of the 1 percenter and loved all the dark parts of it. All MC brothers have major trauma and deal with it in their own way. Scar was in love with his brother’s girl and sacrificed himself for her, let’s say safety/well being. Whilst in the basement being held hostage, is where he meets Elsie, she has her own trauma to deal with. There is something more to their feeling that neither want to acknowledge, especially Scar as he felt rejected by the only girl he loved.
This book made me laugh, cry and smile throughout it, action from the start. I also loved the banter between the brothers and their old ladies. If I could I would give this series more than 5 stars.
I will read ANYTHING that this author writes. She truly creates the most beautiful, complex, damaged characters, but does so in such a way that really helps you visualise every aspect.
Scar is no different to the others, coming with his own bundle of trauma, but a big heart for those he cares about. The story between Scar and Elsie is beautiful, diving into some really traumatic aspects of life that most people would be grateful they never have to endure. But again, written beautifully.
Elsie, the daughter of the enemy is there for Scar when his brothers can’t be. Her caring, gentle nature is everything that her family don’t have the ability to possess or show. But will she risk the little she has, for someone who her family deem as the enemy? That they crave revenge against?
I could NOT put this book down and it’s just another book boyfriend to happily add to the pile.
"Shit, maybe I didn't make it clear enough to you. From the moment you walked in and brought me food, the light behind you lit up like you were a fucking angel. I looked forward to seeing you every damn day. Hell, I wished that you would come by even if it was just for you to pass a note under the door," . . I absolutely loved this bookI read it in a day and I can't lie this is definitely my favourite story of this series so far. I absolutely adore Scar, although he was in the situation he was he always brought the humour that really helped break down the book, with the series also mixing with the banter was brilliantly done. Scar just might be my favourite biker so far. Elsie was such a sweetheart and I absolutely adore her personality, I think she was a great addition to the girls in this series and I am so sure she is going to fit right in. I was so glad to see a different style of plot again, the last couple of books have gone down new roads and I am really loving them. And then right in the end my heart was actually ripped out I have never been so sad reading and epilogue I did not see that coming on bit but I have to admit I can't wait to read the next book in this series I just know its going to be a heart strings puller. I have fallen in love with this series and I can't wait to read more from this author in the future!
Held captive in a dark, dank basement below his captive’s house, Scar is beaten, weak and malnourished.
Elsie, his captive’s daughter is a lonely kind-hearted soul. She bears the brunt of her father’s temper, his right hand man’s unwanted desire and her mothers contempt. Whenever there is opportunity, she takes a risk and smuggles food and water to Scar in the basement. Scar doesn’t realise he has developed feelings for her until he discovers how deprived her maltreatment has become.
I couldn’t put this book down, it gripped me from the first page: it’s dark and gritty, full of action, torment, malice and brutality. It has its lighter moments with the usual club shenanigans and banter.
Black Hearts MC is an outstanding series and with the staggering epilogue, the next book cannot come quickly enough.
These books never cease to entertain me! The guys are unapologetically violent, the women are fiercely loyal and united in their friendships. After Scar traded himself for Acid in the last book I was looking forward to his story….his time as a captive of Eugene was an interesting storyline, but I would have liked more of the growing friendship between him and Elsie. More stolen moments as they grew to trust and confide in each other.
As always the chaos within the MC was fast paced and drama filled. The ending was a bit of a shocker but gave no real hints as to what’s coming next…!
LG Campbell always writes a book that you can't put down, and Scar is no different! Scar is the next in the series of the hot bikers from the Black Hearts MC 🖤. Through the series, we delve into the trauma of their past lives before the MC, and continue their journey with them as a biker group. Having been rejected by the woman he wants for a brother this boom takes you on his journey to escape confinement and find his one and only. I have no doubt that whatever LG Campbell writes next will be a huge success.
What a fantastic read. I absolutely loved Scar and Elsie’s story ❤️❤️❤️ She kept him alive and as safe as she could, so it’s his turn to save her. A beautiful but of course dangerous love story. Danger and chaos abound, just what you want in an MC novel. The ending was so sad. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
it’s physically impossible for me to read a Black Hearts MC book in more than 2 sittings, they’re just so damn good!
My heart broke for Scar in Acid’s book, but this is by far my favourite book of the series! I will say though, I did not expect to end up with tears in my eyes when I finished it..and not the good kind of tears either 😭 I just know that the next book is gonna be filled with murderous rage, and I am here for it 🫡
This book is great and truly unique. Scar is a great friend, and he sacrificed himself to save one of his brothers. Scar got to know Elise while he was a prisoner, and he was struck by how wonderful she is. Elise helped Scar survive while her dad held him prisoner. Unaware that he was in love with Elise, Scar returned to save her after escaping. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Like always, LG Campbell did a great job.
I was desperately waiting for this book of the series after the last one. Scar sacrificed himself for the woman he loved and his club. While in captivity, he meets Elsie. I love Elsie's character; she is fierce, tough, and loyal, which is everything Scar needs in a woman. This book does not disappoint. Be prepared to be waiting for the next one, though. If you have not read the series, I recommend starting it!
Another amazing addition to this series! Lauren, I love this whole series, it has my heart ❤️ I really felt for Scar in the last book, he was in love with his brothers girl and he sacrificed himself so that that they could be together and have their HEA. That meant that he was stuck in a basement away from his club, but this is were he met Elsie. This book ticks all the boxes with angst, drama, laughter and amazing one liners 😂 Please read the trigger warnings before proceeding
Once again it’s an absolute pleasure to be back with the Black Hearts MC. Even though this is part of a series it can definitely be read as a standalone but I’d definitely read the rest of the books before this one.
Scar and Elsie’s story is a little bit more of a slow burn than the rest of the series but still manages to pack one hell of a punch. The story is full of angst and the authors trademark dark humour and yet again my already high expectations were blown away. From the first page to the last it had me unable to put it down.
Like the other members of the MC, Scar has his own trauma that he keeps locked away and you can’t help but fall for him little by little. Elsie is so kind, caring and vulnerable, the complete opposite of her family. My heart broke for both him and Elsie and what they both have to endure. Elsie’s father, Eugene, has them both as prisoners albeit in different ways.
As always we get the usual shenanigans with the ol’ ladies. These girls seriously can’t behave themselves when they’re together and I adore they keep the guys on their toes.
Overall a beautifully written story that I absolutely devoured and highly recommend.
This is a dark and gritty book full of action, brutality, mental and physical abuse and torture. It is well written like all the other books in the series by this author.
Scar is the 8th book in the Black Hearts MC series. When Elsie realizes her father is holding a man hostage in their basement, she starts sneaking in to give him food, water, and conversations whenever the opportunity arises. After trading places with Acid to save his life, Scar is routinely beaten, starved, and left in darkness as part of the BHMC's reluctant deal with Elsie's father.
What I Liked - Spider's reluctance to escape without Elsie even though he knows it's the right thing to do and his commitment to rescuing her as soon as the BHMC can safely carry it out. - Elsie has spent her entire life being abused and treated like property but she risks her own safety and future happiness to save Scar.
What Fell Flat - Book 7 (which I didn't finish) had a love triangle and there was some residual drama about it in this book
Overall, 3.5/5 stars since I enjoyed it enough to want to read more of the series and I might potentially read this again in the future.
I was lucky enough to read this pre-release and absolutely loved it. Scar always intrigued me from other books and his story did not disappoint. When trapped in the basement of the enemy Scar has a guardian angel looking out for him. Beautiful story. My favourite quote is "“It’s like a car crash I can’t look away from,” she mutters.
