What if you woke up one morning and you were floating? What was supposed to be an ordinary school field trip turns out to be a real adventure filled with monkeys, elephants, kites, balloons, and a great big airplane, all of them leaving one little boy wondering if he'll ever come down.
He floated!!! And his mom came into his room! His mom said, "Go to school!" "But i'm floating! I can't go to school!" "You got to go to school." He was scared that he was floating out of control and into outer space! He got up into the sky and saw other kids! His friends! The end.

A pretty fun concept, actually, but I get annoyed by the lack of attention to detail like--how exactly did the monkey get his pants off him? That seemed ridiculous. And why would you have to trail behind the bus on a string? It would be really easy to bring a floating kid aboard the bus. Maybe those seem like petty things to nitpick, but I'm annoyed by what I'm annoyed by, what can I say?
My daughter and I absolutely loved this book. But let me digress, Thank you goodreads along with all involved in the giveaway for this book. I was pleasantly surprised to find out I was a winner, and anxiously awaited its arrival. The story is just so much fun, the illustrations are great, it is really something that will make story time something fun not just this summer, but some time to come. My daughter read it as soon as I brought it in from the mailbox. The cover art makes it very hard not to wonder what treasures will be inside. Thank you Mr. Goldsberry, Rick if I may, for giving us something that will definitely be on our actual bookshelf for a long, long time.
P.S. My daughter has read this book no less than twelve times since we first read it just before dinner the day it arrived. We read it 3 times that day alone!
In this very cute picture book, children are exposed to an imagination and dreams. This book is so colorful and the illustrations are so fun for children to read. There are very few words on each page so it isn't challenging for children to read. I really enjoyed this book and I think it's perfect for classroom use and for children to use their imagination.
Cute book!!! My five year old boy loved it! Very imaginative and kept his interest! Arrived right before Christmas and made a fun little gift. Great artwork, so colorful and nice.
* I received this book as part of goodreads Firstreads program in exchange for honest review*
What a silly concept - a dream of floating through the sky, a field trip to the zoo, losing your pants to a monkey, riding on an airplane wing, and returning home to your mother. Such fun! I will probably try this one in storytime soon.
Every kid dreams about flying…but what if it really came true?!? Floater is a fun story about a boy's adventures when wakes up and he can float. I loved the bright colorful pictures.
This book was very silly and would be great fun to read at storytime. I think it would go perfectly with Chester by Melanie Watts or Umbrella by Ingrid Schubert.
