For some, death comes too soon.
For others, death can’t come quickly enough.
Katie, a single mom struggling to make ends meet as a hotel front desk agent, has no choice but to bring her four-year-old daughter, Ella, to work after failing to pay her daycare bill. Exhausted and overwhelmed, she sets Ella on a chair in the busy lobby, promising herself they’ll make it through the day.

Ugh. Not a fan. Can we get a little back story on the brothers?? If I hear the work stick ims one more time. She knows the word feral but not tattoo?? Proof reading is an author’s friend.

“Because of the bad things I did. I thought you didn’t love me anymore.”
Ir started when she woke up, coated in blood and with zero memories that lead her to this empty field. A night at the bar where her date stood her up, Jane was hard-pressed to return home and shower as she fought to reclaim any memories from the night before. Knowing this is no hangover, she's scared to see this tattoo suddenly taking up the entirety of her throat and the horrible scratching she's hearing in the vents of her apartment. When the boy she was supposed to meet showed up with soup, she invited them in and would accidentally end up killing him. Convulsing and bleeding from every orifice of his face, he died before he hit the floor and she was left with this horrid burning where the tattoo was. Fast forward a few weeks and after sharing a first kiss, she would kill another man in tje exact same way. Confiding in her best friend left her outraged and angry after she took a motchen knife and skinned her thigh as the tattoo has now shifted from her throat. Angry and outraged, she stabbed her friend to death before concealing her body in the trunk of her car. As she's setting out to dispose of her, she would see Alastor and his Roll Royce before she would meet his contraption. A swirling noose surrounded by blades and knives, she became this monster to be out to his biddig. Unfortunately, their next target belongs to a four year old little girl named Ella.
“Are we really friends?” said Ella.
“Of course we are,” said Jen. “You’re hurting my feelings.”
“Then why are you smiling?” Jen had the biggest smile she had ever seen. Her dark lips went on forever. She had little nubby teeth. Every time Ella warned her about eating too much candy, she laughed. Jen laughed at almost everything she said.
Katie is a single mother following the death of her beloved husband Josh three years prior in a car accident. Turning to her sister Veronica offered little support as she was more interested in booze, travel and new boyfriends over a relationship with her niece. When her flavor of the month Kenny decided upon a get rich quick scheme involving burglary, she's very adamant she wants nothing to do with it but her own debts are slowly smothering her. Consumed with guilt over blowing her sister off again, she tags along to the house where they see the tortured bodies of the home owners. As Kenny goes to flip the stolen property, he steals all the money and finds himself at Katie's apartment looking for Veronica. When he scares Ella, she channels the power of her tattoo and kills him leaving her mother and Aunt speechless. After she was attacked and left unscounuis at her mother's job, she's now hearing things and seeing this phantom figure; Jane who is whispering to her. When her mother and Aunt are taken by Nigel, they never expected all the bloodshed and death to follow. Trying to force Ella to reveal her powers, her grandparents would both be killed in front of her before her aunt and mother would try everything to find her. Taken into the shadows by Jane, she was brought directly to Alastor as he makes grand plans for her.
“Why would Jen want you to get a knife? What kind of games do you play together?”
Taken through a contraption to another world, Ella is horrified by the violence and cannibalism running rampant as Alastor tries to convince her to trust him. With her mother Katie reunited with her, they have to outpaced the man you can't kill as they see the most atrocious oddities with every step. Seeing a different world from the one they know, it would be Veronica who would pull them to safety from the same machine that dropped them into that world. Questioned endlessly by police, nobody would ever believe the stories they could tell and instead pulled even closer as the three of them were all the family any of them had left. With grief still heavy, Katie knows she would do anything to protect her daughter, especially after the nightmares that they just left.
