Some secrets are worth killing for.

And some knowledge can unleash a darkness beyond control.

When Dr. Emma Jones, an esteemed archaeologist, is called to authenticate the Codex Sanguinis Immortalis, she expects a routine investigation. The codex is rumored to hold the secret to immortality, but every step Emma takes pulls her further into a deadly conspiracy where nothing is as it seems, and no one can be trusted.

From hidden Vatican vaults to high-stakes chases across Europe, Emma must untangle a mystery that spans centuries. With each answer she uncovers, the stakes rise—rival scholars vanish, trusted allies betray, and an unstoppable force seems intent on seizing the codex’s sinister power. I love all thing archeology and Egyptian. This book hit on both. The book is small, only 70 pages, it is still a fun read. The author does mention that this story was part of an anthology last year. I really like the protagonist and am excited the author is writing a sequel to The Unholy Script. Reading the first chapter of the sequel, The Saqqara Conspiracy, which is in the back of the book is quite compelling and I can't wait for it to come out next year.

I enjoyed reading the author's notes on Egypt and the Vatican Archives. It made me wish this was a longer read, but it still did not disappoint me.
