Hana is approached by Sae, her old servant from the Ichise home, with a desperate plea to save Hazuki from the fate their parents have forced upon her. Ever since Hana left the family, her relationship with her twin has been frayed―and getting involved could mean sacrificing her new life of freedom. But when a crisis erupts at school, they might have no choice but to work together! Will Hana and Hazuki be able to rekindle their sisterly bond?
I'm really enjoying this series more than I thought I would, but I do have a small problem with Hana, which is that it feels like she's good at everything that has to do with the magic in their world. Not exactly a Mary Sue since a Mary Sue is liked by everyone without even trying and they're the best at everything (these two things are not the case here), but it just feels like there's nothing that has to do with practitioners that she can't do, it's too perfect. Also, she's reacting too over the top against the teachers and principal now (I understand why but there are some situations and people where you need to pretend to be polite, look at Maomao from The Apothecary Diaries for example, although it is a life or death thing for her but still), even Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach wouldn't do that (the same person who doesn't care about respectfully addressing captains😂).
I'm glad that Hana and her sister are talking again, it made me so happy seeing them trying to be close again and for once in manga (it's probably happened before even though I can't think of it at the moment), they didn't forgive their abusers. So many times main characters forgive or are convinced to forgive their parent who abused them oract like it was understandable (Your Lie in April) and it's gotten really annoying and predictable. Yes, their mom gave birth to them but she didn't treat them properly at all. So I'm really glad the girls didn't decide to keep dealing with their bs.
Overall, I'm really enjoying this series so far and am excited to read the next book.
This was a good volume. I liked that it focused so much on Hana’s relationship with her twin sister. I was glad to see that Hana wasn’t as alone as she originally thought, that she had someone in her family who always loved her. It’s very sad to think how much they both suffered.
The parents are honestly trash. Like, we make fun of the fact that so many anime parents are absent. These kids would have been better off if their parents were absent. How two people can match each other’s awfulness so well is mind boggling. They’re perfect for each other, I guess.
I want to learn more about the brother, to be honest. We know he exists, and apparently he’s talented. But that’s about it. I wonder what his story is.
I was glad to see that Hana’s true strength was discovered by everyone. I was also utterly disgusted by how people reacted. I was glad Hana called out that one teacher. Another trash adult. This manga is full of them and it’s kind of really concerning. I appreciate that Hana calls trash, trash. It’s refreshing.
It's awhile between volume releases, but this series continues to be enjoyable. We see the attack at the school and Hana finally outing her real powers in this volume, along with a good deal of information about the talismans and the rekindling connection between Hana and her twin Hazuki. Saku has no doubt when it comes to Hana's abilities, but is still struggling as far as any romance in their relationship is concerned, and he might be losing ground there with Hana quickly gaining more friends and allies along the way. The story remains familiar, especially if you've read the light novels, but it's still fun to see the characters come to life with the artwork.

In this volume we are introduced to some characters from another clan who specializes in making talismans. It leans more into the fantasy elements of the story and away from the romance, much to my dismay. I prefer it heavy on the romance, but it did explore some friendship relationships so, fine, I'll give it a pass
Overall 3 stars.

Things are picking up! This manga is lining up well with the light novel and is well paced, which I can’t say about many of the other manga adaptations I’ve read.
One of my favorite volumes to date. I am glad we finally got more insight into why Hazuki is the way she is, and I am glad they both decided to put the past behind them and move forward together.
