As much as I enjoy a slow burn, I feel like this series concentrates more so on the politicking than the romance. I need more moments where the MMC and FMC are together or are pining for one another. I also am getting confused on the different regions and countries (but that’s on me though). I think this series works better as a light novel tbh 👀

I’m just glad Wil got HIS revenge. istg Wilhelm is the reason this story is so amazing, I just love his character so much. He had the perfect amount of insane, obsessive and loyal traits but understandably so. His backstory made me so sad. Wanted to give 5 stars for Wil, but decided on 4 because I hate how underwhelming Michel’s death was…I wanted him to sufferrrrr. Also, some of the chapters felt rushed towards the end of season 1 and Rein was really confusing in some of them. Wilhelm seriously held this story together, he was the star of the show for me. Wilhelm and Rein doing the deed next to Michel’s corpse was icing on the cake they were so sick and insane for that but I love them together 😂

As mentioned in volume 2 review since the English print isn’t out til 2025 but I’m at episode 72 on Tappytoons of the 92 episodes for the main story, I’m marking this one as read.

If there is only 4 volumes for this series then this is around the time that I’m annoyed with the FL as I don’t think she’s self aware enough to realize people living in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones but I’m keeping my rating because I have hope for the over arching storyline to end satisfyingly 🤞

Wil and Rein are both obsessive, and not in a good way. It will be interesting to see where their relationship evolves. I hope Wil is going to be the one to kill the crown prince and take his place. And I hope Rein will finally open her heart.
