The exciting large-scale PvP battle was full of challenges, forging bonds and deepening friendships between Maple Tree and the other top players. Now that it has come to a spectacular close, the game admins announce the opening of the tenth stratum. The map is the largest yet, and the final boss is hiding somewhere in that vast area. Everyone is hyped to start exploring and pitch in to track down the boss. Sally and Maple kick things off by preying on the unsuspecting tenth stratum monsters. And when Maple acquires a new skill, this time it'll involve her...splitting apart!
I LOVED this book!!!! Always love a Bofuri volume, but this one was especially excellent.
I was hooked from the start, with the hidden dungeon. It was really nice seeing the members of Maple Tree in their element & working together. The last few volumes have been very large scale so it was nice to zoom in a bit.
Sadly it seems Maple & Sally are on an IRL time limit… I really hope they can get a bunch of playing in before then! And what will happen to the guild???
This volume was both epic and bittersweet. I loved checking in with our main crew and seeing them not only interact with each other, but how far they’ve grown. Also really liked the zoom in on Maple & Sally, including in their regular lives.
I also really liked seeing how Sally has become just as significant of a force to be reckoned with as Maple, especially considering how she was struggling with that in early books.
There were also some quintessential Maple moments here - like eating the poison monsters. Classic Maple.
My favourite volume in a while, I cannot wait to see where we go next!
It seems that the author is working towards the ending of the series with Maple and Sally soon starting their third year of high school and all the studying that apparently comes with it (at least according to most light novels and anime I consumed). It probably comes with a big massive fight against the main boss of the new 10th stratum and a duel between Maple and Sally, the first I look forward to, the second I am not too big a fan off. Regardless, this volume is mostly about exploring the new floor, fighting a few bosses along the way either as a duo or with the whole guild and getting some new skills along the way. It remains a fun, silly and entertaining series, and while I will be somewhat sad to see it go, ending it before the formula goes stale is probably a good idea.
