Her Lost Bones
Fiona Tarr

This book is the 7th in the opal fields series which follows constable Jenny Williams a cop who came to Coober Pedy to solve a family mystery now thats case is closed she realised how she loves the quirky locals and her fiance Nick. she has a 100% clearance rate of suspicious deaths and missing persons. In this book she has to face another case close to her with a missing women presumed dead and a link to her fiance can she put her feelings aside so she can keep investigating the case.

It's been great getting to know the characters more and how the author dicribes the heat and landscape feels like your there while reading. The Pacing of the book was great the plot was grab the edge of the table worthy if your an mystery mogul and want a really great Australian mystery set in the two seasons hot or rainy weather of the Red dust outback of Coober Pedy this book is for you.
Definitely will be reading the next book in series.

Another great read by Fiona Tarr in the Opal series set in Coober Pedy, South Australia. A realtor is missing and found murdered on a property after trying to convince land owners to sell. Who could have done this? A lot of theories, motives and suspects come up including the main character's fiancee.
Great reading, well paced and interesting characters - many who have appeared in the previous instalments of this series. Descriptive use of words describe the harsh reality of the outback heat and surroundings, making it feel like you are there with the characters as you read.

Recommended for lovers of Australian drama and mystery.

We are back in Coober Pedy with an abandoned car out in the bush, the car belongs to a visiting estate agent who is in the area trying to buy up stations for a mining company. The case puts strain on Jenny and Nick as he soon comes into focus as a suspect when the woman’s body is found. Deep down Jenny doesn’t believe he is guilty and works hard to solve the case.
I really enjoyed this book so much I could hardly put it down.

A good fun outback police procedural

Fiona Tarr has become very accomplished at creating crime novels set in the outback town of Coober Pedy.

Her main character, Constable Jenny Williams has settled into the rhythms of the outback police station. Her interactions with her colleagues form the backbone of this novel. There is a lot of humour and poignancy, which adds another dimension to the criminal investigation.

The plot for this seventh instalment of her new life relies considerably on accepting some fairly far-fetched scenarios. It probably stretches credibility a bit, even for the Australian outback.

Despite this the story moves at a good pace, has all the hallmarks of a good crime thriller - action, suspense, tension, unpredictability, with the requisite number of red herrings.

It is entertaining and gives the reaser voyeuristic insights into the workings of an outback police station and the people living in this quirky part of rural Australia.

I've read everyone in the series. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

From the start, could not put the novel down. Again, Fiona Tarr, has taken the reader to Coober Pedy, Austraila. It is almost December, so the weather is hot, dry, experiencing a drought. and very uncomfortable.
Constable Jenny Williams is still living in Coober Pedy, with 100% clear rate for solving crimes. Her work partner Phillips is distracted during the novel, that Fiona Tarr, leaves the reader twisting to the end to find the answer.
The story feels a little different, but, believe this is a natural progression of growth for the characteries, as we learn more about. The story is believable, characters old and new are quirky, fun to follow and get to know. The author really makes the reader feel like they are shadowing Jenny.

Would highly recommend Her Lost Bones, to those just discovering the author, and those familiar with Opal Fields series to buy the book and follow Jenny, Penny, Nick and the rest of the characters. Also, suggest picking up other books by nFiona Tarr, you will not be disappointed.

Fiona has written another epic encounter in the Opal Fields series with Jenny facing another tough case that hits personal loyalties and professional.

Yes this is another great read and may went you thought all her personal tests had been sorted here's another hammer blow. when an estate agent as we call them in the UK or real estate elsewhere goes missing all they have is her car to work on its going to be tough in the o outback. The action is swift the twists are great and as usuall excellent characters new and old. Old as in regulars from the past series not necessarily in age. There's more personal involvement from other cast members, which is an added bonus even if the people involved works not necessarily agree but this is a great read and a much fit fans of this series or any of Fionas.

So I'm giving this a well worthy 5 stars because it deserves more. And that's all they let us give, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I certainly wasn't.

Fiona Tarr is one of my favourite authors. I have loved all the books of hers I have read.

This story is Opal Fields book 7 - a continuation of the stories about Constable Jenny Williams who is stationed in Coober Pedy. Jenny is now engaged to local station owner Nick Johnson.

When Nick becomes a suspect in the death of a woman, Jenny leaps into action to prove his innocence.

Once again, we meet with Penny, a forensic scientist from Adelaide. Jenny, Penny and the team have their work cut out to find the killer.

I enjoyed this story and found it hard to put the book down. It can be read as a standalone story but is better if read from book one.

Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC of this book.

Book 7 in the Opal Fields series, I do recommend that you read the earlier books first as the relationship threads are very strong, so you will enjoy the book a lot more if you have already got to know the characters. (apart from which they are great reads!).
Once again the author captures the dust and heat of outback Cobber Pedy as we are thrown into the dodgy dealing of a mining company trying to buy up land under the guise of a pastoral company, and a city real estate agent found dead in suspicious circumstances.
The list of suspects add up including Jenny’s fiancé Nick who’s secrets from the past are coming to haunt him.
Another enjoyable chapter in this excellent series.

I really enjoyed Her Lost Bones. While I preferred some of the earlier books in the series that focused more on the crime elements, I still found this one engaging due to the strong main characters. Penny is such a central part of the town now, I kept thinking she may as well just move there! The outback style characters really add depth to the story, making it feel more genuine.
The story moves at a good pace and is very descriptive, which to take you there to Coober Pedy and away from reality. Even though the romance played a bigger role this time, it didn’t take away too much from the overall experience.
Thanks to the author for an ARC of this book. These are my honest thoughts.

Once again Fiona Tarr has written a brilliant book about the goings on in the Opal fields
Couldn’t wait to hear what happened to the people who live in such a fascinating place,I can feel the heat and the life and goings on in the community . I just love the characters and will they or won’t they stay together ,her doubts whether he is guilty but no of course not he’s a good guy
The characters weave together brilliant
Would highly recommend the whole series of books ,if you enjoy reading about crime and how everyone lives and deals with harsh weather conditions .
I can just imagine walking outside in that oh so hot conditions

Mystery in the Australian outback.

An abandoned car starts yet another mystery in the Coober Pedy area and solving this one will test Jenny in many ways. Her relationship with fiance Nick will be challenged by revelations unearthed during the investigation and she finds herself conflicted between love and duty. Once again the author has created a story of intrigue set against the harsh background of the Australian outback with many twists and turns to keep you entertained. I love this series and Fiona is one of my favourite authors.

An Australian Outback murder mystery with a well written storyline and a cast of outstanding interesting characters. Jenny (strong female) has a lot to deal with in this story between solving the murders and her own personal life. The harsh conditions of the outback are also brought to light in this story. The book contains plenty of action, lots of suspense, many suspects, and several twists and turns. A real page turner that I enjoyed and highly recommend. Bring on the net adventure with Jenny in this excellent series with a great location.

I love all things Fiona Tarr, and this does not disappoint; this is book seven in The Opal Fields Series. Constable Jenny Williams works for The Coober Pedy Police Department in Opal County. An abandon car is found, it belongs to Jane Quinn; a real estate agent. She is pregnant and DNA tests reveal that the baby is Nick Johnston's. Nick is Jenny's fiance, how could Janet's baby be Nick's? Nick is a suspect in Janet's murder. Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from M. Fiona Tarr!!!

Her Lost Bones: An Australian Outback Crime Mystery (Opal Fields Book 7), my thirteenth read from author Fiona Tarr. Enjoyable mystery carrying over from the first six books. With this series Tarr has become one of my go-to authors! “I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to more from this author with Death Beneath the Covers: A Crime Fiction Mystery Romantic Suspense Novel (Foxy Mysteries Book 1) high on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

I loved it and loathed it! I loath it when a character I have grown to like over many books comes under serious suspicion of being less than expected. However, the fast pace, wonderful description of living in outback Australia with all its hazards kept me reading. I love the way the series touches on the serious issues Australia faces from big greedy corporations. Another great read from Fiona Tarr

What a delight was it keeping up with our favorite constable, Jenny Williams. As always this book is packed with exhilarating plots, twists and turns. The wits of Jenny as well as the whole team is just awesome to witness.
It's also great to see Jenny becoming more and more of a team player trusting her peers and letting them in as well. I really enjoyed this book thoroughly and I recommend it highly.

I love these books but I couldn’t really get into this one. Jenny is one of my favorite characters ever and I love how Fiona writes stuff that I think, it’s very realistic. This one just felt like it had way too much going on. I couldn’t really keep track of the characters and I still don’t really know who the real killer was or why the killer did it? A lot of loose ends imo. I’ll still read the next one because I love Jenny so much.

I enjoyed this latest book in the Opal Fields series. the characters are solid, the pace is quick and the mystery is a good puzzle. we learn a bit more about the main characters in each sequel. Questions of family, who to trust and friendship are key elements. Good offering, and leads to another sequel.

There are suspects in this murder. Even Nick is a suspect. A real estate agent is found murdered. She trying to buy land from the various landowners. The land is worth A lot for rare minerals. Who killed her and why? Was it a landowner, real estate agent, girlfriend, or partner? Keeps you wanting to keep reading.

If you enjoy a mystery with plenty of twists (and suspects) along with a sprinkling of romance thrown in then you will not be disappointed.
Murder, blackmail, affairs and sabotage…all occurring in remote outback Australia.
Evocative images abound as Fiona takes you on a journey where you feel the searing heat and taste the dust in your mouth.

This is another ripping read from Fiona.

What an amazing story. Jenny’s life has become more complicated that she wanted. Trying to solve a family mystery seems to lead her into danger that isn’t easy to solve. There was no putting this book down before the last page was read.

Oh my! So much happens.
It is a very busy time in an overheated November in Coober Pedy when a real estate agent is found dead and a rather large diamond goes missing. To good a story to put down.
