Your Secret is this author's best book to date in my opinion. A really good plot involving DNA. Kate is gifted a DNA testing kit. She is surprised at the results. Following on from these results had me tearing through the pages of the book to discover the outcome. I certainly wasn't disappointed . Revelation after revelation brought this story to a finale I didnt see coming , in more ways than one. A gripping, suspenseful read. Look forward to th next book by this author
It was a little slow at first, but once the twists & turns started, there was no putting down this book! He and his son Daniel are excellent writers, & I look forward to reading more from the both of them.
I’m not sure this book all comes together in the end. I’m missing the conclusion and it wasn’t intriguing enough for me to reread. They leave several characters without finished endings and the prologue never even gets mentioned in the book. I would not recommend this book!
It all started with Kate and her friend testing their DNA for fun. Who would have thought it would have caused such mayhem? The ever-changing circumstances in this novel captivated me. The author handled the complex plot with admirable skill. Boiling oil is abundantly poured into every chapter as the plot progresses. Misinformation clouds the picture and alters the dynamics. It’s incredibly fast-moving, and you need to keep your eye on the ball. Fate plays a vicious game - there is a million-to-one chance of it happening, which adds intrigue. The repercussions have a drastic effect on all those involved. The characters' varying reactions and interactions fascinated me and added a layer of authenticity. I liked Kate and her parents at first…..How easily you can be fooled. It's a resounding shockwave when all the jigsaw pieces are in place at the end. Priceless. How will it change all their lives, and who will win the gold at the end of the rainbow?
I absolutely loved the book.I do struggle to put them doen. However I have had to learn how to do this recently. Well over the last 18 months. Because almost every book I have been reading I genuinely was struggling to put the books doen. No misunderstanding it wasn't every single book I was losing so much sleep.. I still struggle especially something like this so interwoven you just can't wait to see in what direction it's going to go. As I say it was a surprise at the end.I just wish the author had given is a little but more, on the meeting. Awesome
I have never been curious about my ancestry or sending in DNA in to any of the sites that provide this service. I have, however, wondered on occasion what happens if someone gets caught up in a bad result. This book took me on a very intriguing and nerve-wracking journey into the lives of people who got too nosy. My brain feels like it is suffering from whiplash from all the twists and turns in this story.
This is a very enjoyable story and, as is his previous two books, Mark Hurst kept me awake long after any rational person would be asleep. Thanks, Mr. Mark Hurst!
Wow! Another brilliant book by Mark Hurst. Crazy amount of twists and turns that kept me reading more and sleeping less. Kate is the other woman and seems to have everything she ever wanted now. She got the man and the lifestyle and then DNA results from a sample she sent with a friend, as a bit of pre- wedding fun. The DNA results open a can of worms that involve so many people. Read this book 📕. I very highly recommend this author and look forward to his next offering 😊.
What a captivating thriller this was and it kept me riveted from start to finish. The book starts out with Kate and Paul's wedding which was complicated since Kate was good friends with Paul's daughter, Ruth, and Paul had to end his marriage to Lauren in order to marry Kate. Things get very complicated and there are plenty of surprises until the very end. If you want a great thriller that will keep you up late reading, I highly recommend this book.
Can honestly say I've never read a book with as many twists as this one. I gave it 4 stars because at times, it was a little hard to follow with 10+ different POV's and the twists were so many, I found myself having to reread paragraphs at the end just to really understand & let myself catch up with everything that was happening. It was a bit chaotic, but still a pretty good read!
Wow! What a great psychological thriller! Lots of twists and turns! Omg!!, the ending! Little did Kate know that a DNA test would upend her perfect life with her new husband. There was a lot of mind talking or ruminating that was annoying. I just skimmed over most of it. Overall, this was a good read!
Wow another brilliant book by Mark Hurst. I've read all of his books now and his style of writing keeps you intrigued and you really get to know the characters. I'm sure the way this book has finished can we see a sequel ....
Once the stage was set, there was no putting this book down. Pay attention when you read it, the twists an and turns can get hard to follow but boy is it possible, believable and makes you think. Good writing, Mark! Keep them coming.
I enjoyed this book very much nice writing nice little twists getting bigger till the last one which I didn't see it coming I hope the author will be sat at his desk finishing another as I carnt wait to read it
I have to give my congratulations to Mark Hurst for being such a great writer. I don’t know if I have read a book with so many ups and downs that keep you wondering what’s next. Thanks Mark for a book you can’t put down.
I was really not pleased with this book. Most of the book was very predictable and pretty boring. At about 85% through the book everything gets wrapped up and there are some good plot twists. Then their continues to be multiple plot twist that seemed a little excessive and unnecessary.
Not bad. I enjoyed the book, but the end took a turn that I didn't think was necessary. I felt like there was a lot of characters thoughts that were not necessary and made the book feel long, like it was explaining what each character thought. Not a normal plot line, could have been done better!
Your Secret by Mark Hurst is a psychological thriller about trust, marriage, and deadly secrets. When a simple gift sparks tension, the story escalates into betrayal, murder, and shocking revelations. The premise is strong, and the twists keep you curious about what really happened.
Wasn't a fan honestly it wasn't a real wow factor to me, when I read a book with twist I want that huge wow factor that makes me want to re read that part but this was not really for me the story line was great but could of been more.
I knew i wouldn't be disappointed with this book from Mark. I've read all his books and been addicted from the 1st page. Can't wait for the next so hurry up mark and bring on the next
Wow,wow is all I can say ,kept me guessing from start to finish .All your readers are in for a treat. I hope there's a follow on book with Kate,Oscar etc🙏💗
