DAIR (THE WILD SIDE #3)
ARE YOU READY FOR THE TRUTH?

I’d started writing everything about her down. I didn’t want to forget.
The color of her hair. The depth of her eyes. The stubborn shape of her jaw. The way her lips shaped words with such expression. The way her voice made my chest ache. The way she gave advice beyond her years.
The way she listened like she cared about every word.
The way she made me feel—Alive.
Every curve and hollow of her body was recorded, in my mind, and now my hard drive.
There was a bit of truth in every lie, and even if it had only been fed to me in the smallest increments, I wanted, needed to remember the real Iris.
Because in the end, there was one irrefutable thing that I couldn’t deny.
Hostage or hustler, sinner or saint, whatever she was or wasn’t, whether she lied to my face or taunted me with hints of the truth, all of this seemed always to defer to the more pertinent fact at hand.
She was mine.
Inconceivably.
Undeniably.
Mine.

After yet another shocking discovery, followed by a disturbing letter, Dair is almost certain Iris has left his life for good. He tries his best to move on.
Easier said than done, and when an unexpected and dangerous opportunity arises for him to find out what happened to her, he doesn’t hesitate to take it.
As usual, with Iris, the answer leaves him more lost than the question.
Every revelation is shrouded in mystery, and every disclosure leaves Dair more in the dark than ever.
And when finally, the messy truth is revealed in its entirety, will he be ready for it?

This is the final installment in Iris and Dair’s story

The wait is finally over! After reading the first two The Wild Side novellas and having so many questions, we finally get all the answers! Dair is the final installment in Dair and Iris’s story, so those of you who have been waiting until the series was complete, you’re safe to read.
How could you be in love with a person you didn’t really know? Someone that had fed you nothing but lies?
Someone you knew with certainly you couldn’t trust?

Dair is in love. In love with someone he doesn’t really know. So many questions, lies and discoveries have him wondering how he can ever be with or trust Iris.

Iris wants to tell Dair everything, but she can’t. She’s done lying to him, but there are things that she just can’t disclose right now. One day he will learn everything. All the things she’s been hiding and all the lies that she’s told will come out and all that will be left is the truth. When it’s all laid out, will Dair be able to handle the truth?

R.K. Lilley has written a steamy, mysterious and passionate series. These novellas will keep you on edge, wondering whats going to happen, what is the truth and what is a lie. Some of my theories were correct, other things surprised me. Lilley’s writing is fantastic as always. I loved that this was completely in Dair’s pov and the sneak peak we got at the end was fabulous! Although Dair and Iris’s story is over, I’m looking forward to some of the secondary characters stories! Can’t wait x

This is the final installment about Dair and Iris. Readers will get answers as to who the heck she is and why she is so elusive. Sadly, I found the background on her full story when revealed kind of sucky because let’s face it, who she was in danger from and the whys were NEVER mentioned before in this series. I enjoy trying to figure this stuff out but if the author doesn’t give up suspects, scenarios etc., how can we guess and be involved?

This installment is once again told completely in Dair’s pov. Iris is still popping in and out of his life. He asks for answers she doesn’t give any, they have crazy hot sex and she disappears, rinse and repeat several times. Iris appears to be danger but can’t say why. She’s being held by a hot guy who drives a killer car and from time to time has some pretty serious injuries. The couple falls madly in love and will do anything for each other.

Overall, the story was quick and very hot. The couple’s ending was good and I did enjoy the journey and would recommend this short series. P.S. Excited about the glimpse into the next book in the series which I will be reading because who doesn’t love a cougar?

This is the final book of Dair and Iris and last we knew, Iris was gone...again. The bottom line? Dair can't go on without her but he needs answers...and so do we.

I still get a kick out of Dair and even though he is highly sexual when he is around Iris, at least he is thinking more. Of course, he has lots of time to do that but what in the heck was he doing with Lourdes? I didn't like that at all!

Iris, Iris, Iris...there were some interesting things we found out about her. Some were guessed but I just had no idea the extent she went through to find out things...very tricksy! I would have loved her POV.

description

I love these two together. They have such chemistry and just a connection. I would have liked some focus on the love instead of the sex but there really wasn't time for it.

It was great finally getting some answers. I thought the whole drama was quite intriguing but I can't believe how long things took!

I still have a love/hate relationship with these serial/installment books. I think if these installments would've been all together in one book, I probably would've given it 5 stars. But with it broken up, it leads to a disconnect and while each installment was good...it just wasn't great.

description

But the epilogue....that was priceless!!

Overall, a great series that I definitely recommend! There were lots of good steam and lots of twists that will keep you guessing!

RKL has two more books coming out that are with some of the secondary characters. The Other Man is with Lourdes and someone that I did not see coming! And Tyrant is supposed to be Turner's book...his is going to be a doozy!

ARE YOU READY FOR THE TRUTH?

Damn right I am!!!

After been kept guessing with all the twists in the previous two novellas in this series, I was more than ready!
Just not for all that is finally revealed! Did I ever imagine or think that would be the truth? Never! The author certainly kept me on my toes….just when I thought I kind of knew Iris’s secrets…wam…not even close!!!

Dair, the final book in The Wild Series is once again told in his POV….I would have liked a bit of Iris’s POV but never mind….this was cool enough!! And here, at last, Dair owns up to his feelings…
“Do you still think that our age difference is too much of an obstacle for us?”
“I don’t care,” I grunted over her. “I want you, regardless. I’ll fight for you, for this. This is mine. You’re mine.
At first I wondered if these two would ever get together …I mean really together! Here, there, everywhere…but yes….sorry if this is a bit of a spoiler…but yes I guess they do in the end..
 photo gooosling11_zpswb9pc78o.gif
What, you thought that this time there would be no sexy moments….forget it!!! This is Dair & Iris remember? Hot, sizzling, sexy, fabulous…yes all of that!!

So much going on in this story….mystery, crime, suspense….a lot packed into so few pages ….and so exciting…and so dangerous….

This was definitely my favorite book in the series. I grew to love Dair and Iris….Iris was a total enigma even at the end….here’s this beautiful and young woman, wise beyond her years…

And the most gorgeous and fabulous epilogue. How could one not enjoy these two characters together?
And Iris…please don’t let her get up to her old “tricks” again…like something like this when she tells Dair…
 photo images_zpsjhvnlwd6.jpg
Here's hoping...keep fingers crossed that she stays this time!!!

I have one little grumble….why weren’t the three novellas in this series published as a full novel? Yes, probably because more money is made out of three than one!!!! Allright, call me cynical…but just saying!!!

My favorite quote:
“Don’t be a passive partner. This relationship is not something that’s happening to to you. We are the drivers here. You’re pretending that you just can’t resist me, so you’re letting it happen. I need more from you.”

OMG….I am so excited…..we’re going to get Heath (Iris’s brother) story next…..and the heroine is a 40 year old!!! Awesome!!!! Can’t wait!!

The conclusion to Dair and Iris' story is beyond STEAMY and we get all of our answers.
I have enjoyed the entire series from start to finish.
This is a story to appreciate for the incredibly hot sex and pure entertainment value.

It was fun trying to figure out Iris' story and my theories were just about spot on!
Nothing that happened between Dair and Iris was ever a coincidence.
They spend quite some time being reunited for short amounts of time in between long periods of separation.
But each time they are back together, Dair falls more in love with Iris.

Hostage or hustler, sinner or saint, whatever she was or wasn't, whether she lied to my face or taunted me with hints of the truth, all of this seemed always to defer to the more pertinent fact at hand.
She was mine.

Undeniably.

“Quit fighting against this, Dair, and start fighting for it.”

In a spellbinding finale to a truly addictive erotic serial that had me manically guessing and collecting clues from the very beginning, we finally find out everything. We find out Iris’ real identity, we find out why she keeps running away from Dair, and we find out what the future has in store for them. Every single detail has been untangled, every little secret unveiled, and we are now left retracing our steps and wondering whether it was the sizzling, off-the-charts chemistry between the main characters or the thrill of the enigma itself that clouded our vision and made us enjoy the ride so thoroughly, even though we were blissfully ignorant for the most part of it. I adored the fast pace of this story, the way we were kept in the dark right along our hero, knowing as little as he did, making the same presumptions, having the same suspicions, and getting hungrier and hungrier for the truth. This story is the ultimate wild ride, one I enjoyed tremendously and one I would recommend to anyone looking for a flaming hot read, heavily infused with romance, and a delicious zing of mystery.

“There was a bit of truth in every lie, and even if it had been fed to me in the smallest increments, I wanted, needed to remember the real Iris.”

Iris has been gone for two months, leaving Dair counting the days since her sudden disappearance and grieving her absence profoundly. He is unable and unwilling to move on, hoping each day that Iris would come back to him, just like she has done so many times before. As little as he truly knows about Iris, Dair cannot deny the fact that it is not just his body that misses her more and more each day, or that he would be willing to do anything to get her back.

“Regardless of the absence of its desire, my heart was already involved elsewhere.”

When finally presented with an opportunity to see her again, Dair goes without a second thought, prepared to risk his own safety just to hold her one more time. And that is when Iris’ story starts slowly unravelling. We start catching small clues, we are given a few long-awaited answers here and there, but the puzzle pieces don’t come together until the very end to give us the complete picture of Iris’s life.

“How could you be in love with a person you didn’t really know? Someone that had fed you nothing but lies? Someone you knew with certainty you couldn’t trust?”

As much as this book is all about the truth finally coming to light, this is also the book where Dair comes to terms with his feelings for a woman he knows almost nothing about, apart from all the reasons why they shouldn’t be together. He is desperate to know more about her, save her from her predicament and protect her with his life if needed, but he also keeps struggling with the knowledge that she has lied to him from the very beginning and that their connection might be based entirely on lust.

“I’m more than an age, Dair. I’m a person, a woman, and I’m in love with you.”

I devoured this final instalment in the series ravenously and I only wish it had been longer. One of the most passionate erotic thrillers I have ever read, I am not sure what I loved more—the intensity of the storyline or the superb writing style—but I was addicted to every part of it from the very first page and cannot recommend it highly enough. And just wait for that Epilogue…

“My love for you is the realest thing I know. I’d like for you to remember that.”

In book 3 Iris has gone missing. She has been gone about 2 months. Dair knows she's scared, is in serious trouble, and is running away from something. He just wants to find out what happened to her, & help her. He would keep her safe if she would only open up to him, & let him in. All he has left of her is a letter she wrote him.

 photo c8bc5995-4231-426e-a762-1f1a50a4aaea.jpg

Dair is worried sick about Iris, desperate to see her. He didn't realize he was in love with her until she was gone. This stranger that he hardly knows, that lies to him.

 photo ac6de552-6bc8-4783-a5c3-980e961c1b48.jpg

He pretended he was okay, and that everything was normal, but when he was alone he would obsess about Iris. Trying to move on just wasn't working. He tried to distract himself by hanging out with friends, but he was just stuck in his head, & going through the motions of life.

 photo bd13fe32-0dc1-4fa6-bd4d-5686533d24ca.jpg

Things all come to a head when Dair is unexpectedly reunited with Iris. He realizes he will do anything to be with her & protect her. All of the sudden all their differences don't matter anymore. All that matters is his heart belongs to this complicated woman & he is crazy about her. We find out all our answers in this 3rd book & get a fabulous ending! I loved this series so much, & can't wait for the spinoff's about Turner & then Lourdes.:D

That conclusion was wonderful. I had my suspicions about Iris and I was somewhat right but I'm glad that I was not able to guess it in full. It was just crazy though because once the details started being revealed everything she said previously just started to click into place and made sense. This was epic in regards to heat, I mean Dair is just... UNF worthy! The passion and desperation at times that he takes her with is just what you want in a hot little story like this. But the epilogue, gosh, it was just the right amount of awww and not one drop too much. I loved this series! As always Mrs. Lilley, EXCELLENT!!!!!

***SPOILERS***

Mixed character growth. h matured & became stronger/more controlled/powerful. But she also became more sophisticated in her manipulations & game-playing & passive-aggressivness. H's character regressed to beta. He stopped demanding answers from h & just kept waiting for her to reappear while lumbering along with his writer life. When they were together, he'd be tentative & insecure about their relationship, mostly due to their age gap. So, their sex scenes weren't as hot as Books 1&2 due to H's losing his alpha-dominance.

1-star off for weird part where both H&h went on 1 date with other people per h forcing after his repeated complaint about their age gap & how they should be with people their age but she didn't like that he kissed OW after their date. So she told him she was going to kiss her date too. H finally figured out that h is actually the young daughter of his mother's political friend. He remembered her as a quiet & sweet genius young girl, who he was saddened with the news of her accidental death years ago.

Epilogue 2 yrs later, with h gone for 2 years (due to being in a witness-protection program after testifying in court against her grandmother) & H unsure if he'll ever see h again but still waiting. The blonde guy (who is actually her older bro) surprised H 1 day with their 2yo son H had no clue about & tells him to care of him & that h will come to him in a few weeks. She does & they get married shortly.

****4 Love is not a Coincidence Stars****

(BR with Mel, Patty and Sharon)

Finally!!! Now we know who Iris really is... This whole story was 70% sex scenes and 30% plot, which made for a very interesting and wild read...

After a few months since Iris has gone missing, Dair finds her again and just like all the other times, they pick up right where they left of. This time they have to get more creative to plot new ways to get together, time is scarce and precious, because someone is always watching. Little by little Iris starts revealing clues about herself but more than once Dair finds himself regretting learning the truth; as people say ignorance is a bliss.
Turner and Lourdes add more spice to the plot if that even possible, because Dair and Iris are already plenty spicy on their own, but the secondary characters were very charismatic and I'm happy to learn that they will get their own book. I'm going to be all over that one, because Turner is one sexy devil.

 photo imagejpg1_zps7479f579.jpg

All the final pieces of the puzzle finally come together and we get a really great epilogue which makes all the waiting and all the guessing games , worthwhile. I must say though I was sometimes confused speculating whether Dair and Iris were more in lust than in love with each other. I know for me, very rarely I think there is such a thing as too much sex in a story but in this case I was overwhelmed by how many times this two could hump each other, they barely had any meaningful conversations, which don't get me wrong, it made a very erotic story but there was no need for three books, she could have just written one, but of course business wise, smart move on the author's part.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a sexy and entertaining read.

See you soon Turner... *wink

What a wussy H...

I mean the h was literally the Hero of this story, she was brilliant and brought down powerful, politically influential villains almost single handedly. And she was only nineteen!!
All the H had to do was stand still and let the h love him. But no, he couldn't do that, he let h down - like even in the last chapter and there is a 2 yr separation where she could have died, but escapes no thanks to H. And she is pregnant and raises his kid alone not knowing if H has moved on or if he even wants her or the baby. H is even relieved when h leaves him - what is she supposed to think?

They get together in the epilogue after 2 yrs; but whatever- I think the h has awful taste in men - she seems to like wimps with no balls. I much prefer a Jordan Silver or Alexa Riley H who would just take the h, no second opinions

Anyway the 3 stars are just for the awesome kickass h and the hot, hot sex scenes but on the whole I'd rather the h had ended up a single mom. That would have been a happy ending for me!!

Well yay! All my questions were answered and then some. I really love this series, Dair and Iris are hot, hot, hot. Iris is a force to be recon with for Dair, she really does spin his head, over and over again. He drove me nuts at times with how hung up he was on their age difference, and once again she set him straight, and boy was it a head shaker....I think he is over the issue of their age. I have to say if this were anything but a book Dair would be an idiot for getting into that van. Somethings were far fetched but it worked with this story. R.K. Lilley writes in a way that has you so invested in her characters and their relationships that you don't care how it all works out just that it does and the journey to the HEA is worth all the happy or tears to get there.

Review after a re-listen years later:

Yeah, it still holds up. I rated this a 4 star when I listened to it before because it's a super hot series!!! And it is STILL super hot.

And i loove the heroine! And i love that it is completely in MALE POV.

We love Iris in my house! She is one of the best heroines I've ever read.

I also forgot the twist because I listened to this years ago, so it was great to experience it almost like the first time.

I plan to re-listen to this every year!

This was a very unexpected ending to the incredible story of Dair and Iris. It was utterly heartbreaking and frustrating at times, but equally satisfying and such a sweet read!

DAIR: "Hostage or hustler, sinner or saint, whatever she was or wasn't, whether she lied to my face or taunted me with hints of the truth, all of this seemed always to defer to the more pertinent fact at hand. She was mine. Inconceivably. Undeniably. Mine. It was devastating and that simple."

My heart has been cracking up for Dair since The Wild Side and that didn't change in the final instillation of the series, either. He is just so oblivious to everything going on around him, always kept in the dark by Iris and constantly left behind to worry himself sick, completely in love and miserable.

For Iris, I have very contradicted feelings, to be honest.

I hated the way she kept playing with my poor Dair. I felt seriously furious every time she didn't answer any question he asked her, kept leaving him and coming back after ages, always playing games, ALWAYS! I know that she had her reasons and was just trying to keep him safe from the shitstorm that she could smell coming. I know that, GODDAMNIT! But still...

But... I adored her at times like this:

IRIS: "You're wrong. I know you are. I'm more than an age, Dair. I'm a person, a woman, and I'm in love with you."

And like this:

IRIS: "Quit fighting against this, Dair, and start fighting for it. That's all I ask."

...at times, when she was the one carrying all the weight of their love. At times, when she was the one that didn't give up on them. At times, when she was the only one fighting for the two of them.

At times like these, I found myself on her team!

Towards the end, I couldn't hold my tears back anymore...

IRIS: "That's what was real, Dair. My love for you is the realest thing I know. I'd like you to remember that."

Thank God for the epilogue!

I would have been wrecked if that epilogue didn't exist. SERIOUSLY...

//////////

I've JUST learned that we are getting spin-off books for some supporting characters in the series!

Tyrant: The story of Turner aka "The Tyrant"
and
The Other Man: The story of

R.K. Lilley...

//////////

I demand a 4th book from Iris' POV after this one!

I'm telling you guys, trust me, WE NEED THIS!

Please R.K. Lilley...

Really, seriously, enjoyed this series. I love role-reversal stories, and this was one of the best.

I was going to give this last book a solid 4 star, but then that ending came... and I felt for Dair, so much, and I added on a whole star.

The mystery? Well it wasn't stupidly far fetched and totally reasonable. I totally loved how seemingly psycho it made Iris look.

Dair, well, what can I say; pussy-whipped, emotional and insatiable. Absolutely adorable in his devotion for Iris.

Oh, and I thought the writing was great too - lots of sex - but intelligent writing.

Pretty disappointed it's over.

From my review for book #1:

'She was young.
I was old.
She was wild.
I was tame.'

Alasdair is a reclusive writer, he's been divorced for a year and is a gym addict. When twenty something Iris joins his gym, he can't take his eyes off her tanned, toned, spandex covered body.
'The girl got a kick out of driving me wild.'

Iris starts coming onto him - really strong – and though Alasdair doesn't understand why, he's totally willing to go along with it.
'She was just too much. Everything my bruised ego and trampled heart needed to start to mend themselves.'

Things start to get really steamy, there's LOADS of sex.
'It felt as though my body had been switched into some kind of perverted survival mode, where it wanted to fuck itself unconscious.'

But, really, how much does he know about Iris?
'I knew I should have been more worried about her motives. No, I wasn't an idiot, and the logical answer to Iris wanting me was pretty obvious. The thing was, I just didn't care.'

This was definitely an interesting series. I did enjoy the age difference because I LOVE mature men and actually Iris was pretty mature as well. Although I understand Dair's concerns with the age difference, I felt like I was getting whiplash with his mood swings about it. I pretty much had the secret figured out before I got to the part where it actually came out, which I was also disappointed about. I felt like we had to wait almost the whole entire three books before it came out! I mean what gives. Even though I thoroughly enjoyed the epilogue, I wished for more time with them being a truly legitimate couple. I am glad that Dair finally got over the age difference, but I will say, I have to wonder if the twist didn't happen, where they would have been. That's why I would have appreciated more time with them as a couple. I think the saving grace of this series, besides the heroine (who I very much enjoyed) was that Dair was NOT a manwhore. Not in any way shape or form. If you are a person like me who cannot stand cheating or sex outside of the main characters once they actually meet, no matter if they are together or not, you have nothing to worry about in this series. I am definitely interested in Heath's story and I hope it's an actual stand alone - no more series! LOL

What a perfect ending! I was nervous about it! I just couldn't figure out how in 100 pages she was going to wrap up the first two books. She did it! I could have read about Dair and Iris for at least another 500 pages.

In the final installment of The Wild Side Series Dair finds himself alone, yet again. Iris has slipped from his grip, leaving behind only a note; one that leaves him wondering if she's alive or if she's dead. But when the blonde man appears to take him to her, Dair finds he ends up with far more questions than answers - even though Iris seems to be ready to finally give him some truths.

As Iris hides whatever danger she's in, she finds stolen moments to escape into Dair's arms but nothing he says appears to be enough to make her trust him with the truth. Until he starts to seek the truth out for himself, the only question is will the truth ruin everything.

So there is no doubt that R.K. Lilley can write. This series was no different. Beautifully written but so addicting, that with each little bit you just craved more. More Iris, more Dair... more of the animalistic chemistry that had Dair rutting around like a dog in heat while his body's craving for her could not be satisfied.

Beyond the hot sex, the amazingly formed characters and brilliantly colored story there was always this feeling of a much deeper story lingering beneath the skin. Nothing was as it seemed, yet Iris might have been one of the realest characters in this book.

The chemistry between Dair and Iris was like an inferno. His mind might have tried to warn him, but his cock was solely focused on one thing. Getting in and getting off. There was this feeling that although as rough as it could get between these two - it was almost more tender the more aggressive he was. With his mind often fighting what would be socially acceptable, how he would be viewed.... the way he let go fully while inside her was the the purest and most honest version of Dair we get to see.

Turner's character was an added bonus. I really hope that Turner's voice pesters Ms. Lilley to the point where she is forced to write his story... because I need his story!

"And you, you poor bastard, you've fallen for some wild young thing who was only taking her daddy issues out on your enthusiastic cock."

"In your ex-wife's stingy, slutty pussy, is the subtle point I'm trying to portray."

Another instant favorite from Ms. Lilley. I look forward to getting the story behind the mysterious blonde in the Jag, more Cavendish and fingers-crossed, Turner.

I liked it better than the first 2 books. Well I am going to go right ahead and give myself a pat on the back as I was able to guess exactly who Iris was based on a teeny tiny clue we got in the last book.

But the entire mystery was just sprung upon us towards the end like 'So and so happened so this is the way it was' ....at least it felt that way. This is one of those series that could have had so much potential if rk lilley had just gone a little different route and had not made us readers feel we were just reading a horny guy and and even hornier girl going at it....ALL THE TIME.

I won't be giving up on this author though. Her Tristan & Danika are one of my favourites.

4 Dair Stars!!

Well, I am going to end up swallowing all of my previous words of complaint because in the end, I loved this book. When we finally got some answers and got to see the real Iris, it was pretty great. :) Still pissed that we got info drip fed to us for two and a half books but, I think that's just the nature of this style of book.

Can't wait to read about more characters in this series. :)

Anyone else slightly underwhelmed by this book in the series? I've been in love with it from the start but am feeling slightly disappointed by the conclusion. I felt like the big reveal wasn't as interesting as I thought it would be and the epilogue was just fit into a perfect little bow. I would have liked to have seen Dair . It felt like we spent the entire series with him just being a passive person in the relationship. I was hoping for him to finally show more emotion and show Iris how much he loves her (especially after her revelation about how they met.

All in all I still enjoyed the series and I'd still recommend it! The first two books in the series were absolutely filthy *yum*.

I'm even more excited to read Tyrant. I'm hoping for a ball busting bitch of a heroine that's going to bring Turner to his knees. Please oh please oh please!

Overall I give the series a 4. This one was the best but if the ending would have went different I would have hated it.

This one gets a 4.5.

Finally, the pieces of the puzzle fit together although some things seemed exorbitant. I thought the story ended very fast, it only took 15 pages to tell the true story, but at least it added an epilogue with a surprise that I didn't expect cause it happened a long time after the last time they saw each other, I thought that I was going to happen later. I honestly needed more content in the books.

3.5 'All is Revealed' stars

Finally, the secrets are all out! And there are a lot of them! Some I had picked, others I hadn’t, and I enjoyed the surprises. Mostly, I loved that everything was finally explained – Iris’ secrecy, her absences, the never-ending danger that she seemed to be in and just how their hot hook up came about in the first place. The twist is – how will Dair handle it when all is revealed?

This is a great conclusion to Dair and Iris’ all-consuming, passion-filled romance. There’s a bit of angst as everything is resolved, and with the ‘other’ part of Iris’ life finally being explored, they don’t have as much time together as they did in the previous books, but it’s still very steamy, and almost obsessive, when they are together.

She was mine.
Inconceivable.
Undeniably.
Mine.
It was that devastating and that simple.

The good news is, the issues regarding Dair and Iris’ relationship are all finally dealt with – if somewhat unconventionally – and even though her methods were questionable, I must applaud Iris for calling Dair out.

“Don’t be a passive partner. This relationship is not something that’s happening to to you. We are the drivers here. You’re pretending that you just can’t resist me, so you’re letting it happen. I need more from you.”

I’ve really enjoyed this little series. It’s an intriguing and super-sexy story, told completely from the male POV, and even though the writing seemed a bit simplistic at times, and not at all like RK Lilley’s other work, I got caught up in it, and was happy with how it all ended (loved the epilogue!).

“I want you … I’ll fight for you, for this. This is mine. You’re mine.”

3.5 stars.

So... omg this book series had so much damn sex. I mean like an obscene amount of screwing. Had I known this was an erotic series, I would have never started it, but I didn’t know and once I started reading I got hooked on the story. I desperately wanted to know the mystery behind Iris. The author did a wonderful job in keeping the reader in suspense. I had contemplated a bazillion different scenarios on who and what Iris was all about and none of them were correct in the end.

As far as the relationship between Iris and Dair, well what can I say???? It was ludicrous! A forty year old horny man getting off of an 18 year old seventy five times per day, do you think it will last? Mmmnnnooo! Was there chemistry? Well, there was definitely palpable sexual chemistry all throughout the three novelas. But, as far as love?i don’t know.... I don’t subscribe to the school of thought that really great sexual chemistry is the same as love. I think you can have really really great sex and never love your partner and by the same token you can really love someone and have a mediocre sex life. In my book, one has nothing to do with the other. It’s great if you can have both, but it isn’t necessary.

This book was full of hardcore sex. It wasn’t even the love making kind, and I got the distinct impression that Dair was starved for a good lay and Iris was just there to fill that need. Do I think that an 18 y/o can have a deep meaningful, true, long lasting relationship with a 40 year old man who has lived a life and has accomplished so much? I guess it’s possible if they have other things -beside screwing - in common. Did I read about those “other” things in this book? No I didn’t. So did I buy into the Iris/Dair love story? No i did not. Did I finish the three novellas in one day so that I can get to the bottom of the Iris mystery? Yup!
