I was not ready for all of the twists!

Tara went looking for answers and she yanked Pandora's box right off the shelf! It slowly scattered its contents out on the floor and she ends up spending all of her waking hours trying to connect the dots. Hell, I couldn't connect them fast enough, either!

I really enjoyed seeing the story unfold and discovering the woven web of orchestrated happenstance amongst the characters and events. I'm thankful to have been considered for an ARC to get my hands on this one!

Emersyn Park is an author who never fails to deliver an exceptional reading experience, and Seeds of His Evil, book 3 in the Normal Scandal series, is no exception. From the first page to the last, this book captivates with its rich storytelling and engaging characters.

In Seeds of His Evil, Tara, the main character, is thrust into a journey of self-discovery after learning a life-changing secret from her mother about her upbringing. This revelation shakes the foundation of everything Tara thought she knew about herself and her past. Be prepared for some twists and turns along the way as Tara starts to uncover some shocking and disturbing truths. While this book can be read as a stand alone, I recommend starting from the beginning of the series to really understand the characters and immerse yourself in the full experience of the Normal Scandal Series.

One of the most notable things about this novel is how all-consuming it is. In fact, it was so captivating that I found myself completely absorbed, even while my boys were having a wild Nerf gun battle around me. It speaks to how well Emersyn can pull you into the world she’s created, allowing you to lose track of everything happening in the real world.

If you're looking for a book that will sweep you up into a fantastic story with unforgettable characters, look no further than Seeds of his Evil. Emersyn Park has once again proven herself to be a master storyteller.

Every time I crack open a new Emersyn Park's book, I always wonder how she will top her last. Let me tell you folks, I do not know how, but she does it again! It is twisted, sickening, heart wrenching, it makes my mind travel to the darkest of places. The pages were fluttering around me like petals in the wind. I needed to get to the end as fast as possible to finally understand what made Tony tick. What lead him to do the unimaginable things he did under the disguise of being the loving neighborhood preacher. How many people were left broken in his wake?

Tara Brady is working through the process of coming up with a topic for her thesis in psychology. When her mother calls her home for some news. Tara knows her mother is about to drop something major, since she has made her favorite dinner. Over the years her favorite dinners have led to so many heart stopping conversations. This will be the biggest, most heart wrenching of them all. Tara believed that for twenty-three years she was a test tube baby. She never questioned it, until this dinner. When her mother states she knows who her biological father is and that is not all. I cannot tell you anymore, since I do not want to ruin the book for you. Let us just say Tara now has the topic of her thesis.

Tara and her mother Kitty were the superstars of this book. They are phenomenally written and formed. Making you want to know more about their lives. I still have whiplash from all of the twists and turns. It is a dark read that I will not soon forget. Thank you to Emersyn Park for having me be a part of your ARC Team, you always make it so much fun. It also helps that your book is incredibly engaging, and I will be recommending it far and wide.

I love Emersyn’s style of writing, the way she can weave connections, build angst, give away secrets, and do it all over again on every single page. It’s like going to the amusement park when you’re finally tall enough to ride the biggest, scariest rollercoaster—but there are no lines. You get on and slowly creep up the track, just waiting for that explosive moment of thrill, get off, run around and get right back on because you can’t stop. Emersyn can paint a scene beautifully with details that never get boring, immerse us into a character’s shoes, and push our imaginations beyond comprehension with her dark twists and turns that keep us turning the pages.

This story is one that will leave you feeling every emotion possible. I felt the love for Tara and Kitty, laughed out loud at Ms. Gorsky, and fumed with fury over the evil pastor. The way Emersyn can tangle plots and twists and then slowly unwind them is a true gift.

Congratulations, EP, I loved this one, too!

This is the 3rd book in the Normal scandal series and it wraps up the series with surprises and blew my expectations! I was beyond excited to read this and get my questions answered about the scandal that rocked Normal, Iowa with the local pastor! It’s a family drama with so many twists that you don’t see coming! The twists and turns were captivating and there were late nights where I couldn’t put it down! Emersyn Park is a talented writer that includes personal touches into her characters offering a fun reading experience! She is a local author and gives you a sense of small town Iowa and South Dakota. This is her 5th book and I’ve read them all! You will enjoy her work so much! This book releases January 27th!

POTENTIAL SPOILER (because why not jump right in)
I took away .25 stars because I don’t feel like Tara reacted enough to that revelation of who the photo of G.P. really was, while my jaw was on the floor.

YOU’RE SAFE TO READ NOW

So many twists, all equally shocking - even if you discovered them before they were officially announced (I like the guess & love even more when I’m right).

The story is detailed without being drug out and boring, I literally had a hard time putting it down because I needed to know what happened next.

I think the author did a great job of having details from the other books without it feeling overly repetitive. I took a few months break in between reading this & the others, but you wouldn’t have guessed because I remembered everything with the help of those details.

This book was written so well it had me thinking about all of the small towns around that probably have these exact things happening.

If you haven’t checked out Emersyn Park’s books yet, you should. I personally think her Normal Scandal Series is the best work she’s done. The continuation of her characters from book to book gives more detail and insight into the who and the why of her characters.

Tara is a student majoring in psychology. When Tara receives shocking news, she decides she is going to use her school assignment to find answers for herself. Those answers have to come from none other than Tony Shade, the evil pastor who tortured numerous women. But Tara is determined to answer the age old question of nature vs nurture. Is your DNA more than just your genetic makeup? Does it control what you ultimately do with your life and influence the choices you make? Or does the love and care of those who raised you negate the evil that could be hidden deep inside you?

Seeds of His Evil is an engaging story with delightful twists and surprises throughout.

This was a fun book to write. Tara is a strong, independent woman who doesn’t make excuses or filter herself for others. She is proud of who she is and who she is becoming. When she discovers that she’s a product of rape, she doesn’t wallow in self-pity. Instead she seeks information, and that path leads her straight to the man himself.

When psychology student Tara Brady learns a shocking secret about her father’s identity, her world is upended. Determined to uncover the truth, she embarks on a harrowing journey of self-discovery—one that forces her to confront the darkest parts of her past and question whether she can escape the legacy of his evil.

Emersyn Park has done it again! Seeds of His Evil exceeded my expectations and brought me back into the Normal Scandal series which has haunted me since reading Roots of His Evil last year. Park’s writing draws you in and immerses the reader in this gripping psychological thriller that delves into the harrowing debate of nature versus nurture and asks the terrifying question of whether evil can be inherited.

While this book focuses on tough subject matter, Park approaches these sensitive topics with care. Tara’s relentless pursuit of the truth about her father makes for a compelling and thought-provoking journey. Her unwavering determination to define herself beyond her origins adds emotional depth to an already intense narrative. Fans of Roots of His Evil will appreciate the return of familiar faces, though Seeds of His Evil stands strong as a standalone read.

This book is an unputdownable psychological deep dive. It’s haunting, suspenseful, and impossible to shake even after the final page. If you’re looking for a dark and twisted read that you can finish in a day, I highly recommend checking out Seeds of His Evil. I honestly couldn’t put it down once I started reading it!

Thank you to the author for a gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.

I love a good dark novel - and this series has it all. I highly recommend reading the first two books in this series (He Loves Me, She Loves Me Not and Roots of His Evil) to get the full picture of how insidious Pastor Tony actions were … and how they continue to play out in the lives he’s touched.

There is definitely something different in Seeds of His Evil which poses the question of why people do what they do. And as uncomfortable as I was with Ford’s actions, I tried to “understand” where he came from - his roots . But can someone who is truly evil be a victim - can they really say “I’m sorry. I’m just like this”? Or is it just a mind game? In some ways I wish the nature/nurture element of this story had been more fleshed out. Although in the end, the reader is given an opportunity to see beyond this character’s veil - and it’s not pretty.

Strong female characters, an infinite struggle to come to terms with one’s own existence and an understanding that control isn’t always something you have - it can be taken in an instance. Dark stuff - but so soooo good. I look forward to what will come next in this series.

Caution to those who may be triggered by: rape, sexual abuse, incest

Thank you to Goodreads and the author for a copy of this book.

This book had me at “abnormal psychology” on page one.

As the lead character researched and interviewed her father, his twisted story was revealed. The parallel story of the local deviant also kept the plot interesting and left me feeling both anxious and intrigued to find out more about their deviant behaviors and how their paths would cross.

Twists and turns right up to the end of the book made this a page turner. I had to laugh when the quid pro quo came up as the relationship between the lead characters felt reminiscent of Hannibal and Clarice.

The recipe at the end was a nice touch I will be making it.

This is part of a series but in and of itself is a solid standalone book and a great one for those who enjoy psychological thrillers. This was so good I’ll be reading the rest, and hope to see a future sequel to this book as well.

Emersyn Park blew my mind with her latest book! Binge worthy from start to finish, Seeds of His Evil, gives you an even closer look into the mind of the sick and twisted Tony Shade. Get up close and personal during interviews with the devil himself and dive deeper into the evil seeds he’s planted and what they’ve grown to become.
Thank you for the opportunity to be an ARC Emersyn!

My favorite of the Normal Scandal Series! Seeds of His Evil is full of twists and turns and kept me guessing from start to finish.

TaraSue Brady, a psychology student, investigates the age-old debate of nature vs. nurture after her mother shares a disturbing secret about her past. Emersyn Park’s character development and interesting plot lines (along with a twisted pastor) make for a story that is hard to put down. How much destruction can one person cause?

If that person is a narcissist with deviant tendencies who believes everything on earth is created for their own pleasure, then the answer is unlimited destruction.

That is the story of Seeds of His Evil, Emersyn Park's third installment in the "Normal Scandal Series." the books revolve around corrupt Pastor Tony Shade, a man who uses his power and position to unleash untold hell on earth.

Seeds of His Evil follows TaraSue Brady, a psychology student who decides to study Tony Shade and his case because his crimes took place in her hometown. What she uncovers will leave her, her family, and those around her forever changed.

Emersyn writes dark, twisted, complex stories with tightly intertwined family relationships. It's unexpected and leaves you guessing throughout, and I love everything about it.

Seeds of His Evil works as a stand-alone novel, but I recommend starting at the beginning with He Loves Me, She Loves Me Not, and Roots of His Evil. That will give you the full scope of Tony Shade's wickedness!

Wow! I’ll be honest. When I began reading this third book in a series about life in Normal Iowa, I was really looking forward to finding out more about Pastor Tony Shade and the stories of people he brought into his life………or should I say LAIR! I was not disappointed! By way of Tara Brady, Emerson Park leads us down the dark path! Throughout the first part of the book, I thought was learning a lot about Shade…….and I was! But Park had a twist or two up her sleeve as she led us down that revealing path! So much was eventually revealed about others who entered his life, one way or another. I found out way more than I had bargained for, or ever imagined! As I got closer to the end of the book I couldn’t help but read faster and faster! And yet, when I had finished the last sentence, I still wanted more! Park has a real knack for leading us down the paths she wants us to go, and I’ll continue to follow her down those winding and intriguing paths!

Emersyn continues to publish page-turning suspense novels! This scandalous thriller will have you guessing until the very end. There was a mystery character woven throughout this story and I was shocked when his identity was finally revealed. Emersyn has a gift of intertwining her characters and keeping her readers on edge. The unpredictability of her storyline has produced a novel that you will find hard to put down! This book can be read on its own or as the third book in her “Normal Scandal Series.” Get your copy beginning on January 27, 2025!

Tara is shocked when her mother tells her a huge secret about her upbringing. So much so, that she decides to use her new knowledge as part of her research for her thesis. As part of her research, Tara requests interviews with Pastor Tony Shade who is in jail after being caught abusing his position of power.

I always get excited when Emersyn Park releases a new book! Seeds of his Evil is a sequel to Roots of his Evil and while it is a standalone, I would recommend reading the other books prior to it because they're not only good but they give more of a backstory with the characters. I found myself whizzing through the pages of this one. It had me hooked right from the start. There were twists aplenty in this disturbing tale. If you like your thrillers on the darker side, you need to get your hands on a copy of this one.
