For a long time, when I was invited to write a review, I was able to access the comments I had made whilst reading. I don't know why this facility was dropped, but would love to see it reinstated. It made a review much easier to write!
However, from memory, my major criticism of these books is the excessive profanity. Why is it that so many authors seem to think it perfectly acceptable to use blasphemy, when the English language has sufficient alternative expletives that may be used - and that some authors do use?
Apart from that, I was also left very unimpressed with the linguistic mistakes - spelling, grammar, syntax, etc! This author would do well to employ a proofreader who actually knows the English language. Based on these novels, her own knowledge is sadly lacking!
The story lines, themselves sometimes stretched the imagination! See my comments on the script.
This is not a "series", but a serial. The end of each novel leaves questions that are not answered until the next one. In a series (such as I have authored myself, albeit in the non-fiction genre), each book is complete in itself, although the same characters may be involved.
I shall not be purchasing any other books in the serial! I shall live with the unanswered questions. Actually, By the end of next week, I will have put these novels well back in my memory!
This was a great beginning to this series, and I enjoyed the stories. However, there were a lot of editing errors throughout each book. They weren't major errors, or anything that took away from the flow of the stories, but they were noticeable, as well as irritating. The most common error was the misuse of apostrophes, which like I said wasn't anything major, but trying to figure it all out was beyond frustrating. I'm hoping that the future books are edited better. I would recommend this book, series, and author.
Love Kate and Nick - they work so well together, and have each other’s back…Kate is amazing with all she has gone through, coming out on top and still be sane ! Nick is her best friend, would do anything for her, now, if they would only get together …!! Great action, and insight on how the FBI/ police procedures work- love it !
These books are definitely worth reading. The author has a good grasp of character development and kept me engrossed as I followed Kate's journey from the Dallas Police Force into FBI training and during her fight for a permanent spot on her FBI team!
Kate Reid has led a complicated life full of pain and heartache. Sometimes her character would irritate me. She was tough physically and could function on little sleep. Follow her through the horrendous crimes she had to solve.
The only problem in my view is once in youdont get an option togo anywhere but to the next in the series. That choice should always be with the reader not with Amazon or the writer, great stories and very well written, Thanks to the writer.
I enjoyed this series of books and I think it's well done; although some of the twists threw me for a loop . I think it is an interesting series but at times, it seemed more negative than necessary
You see very clearly how an abusive kidnapper/serial killer ruins lives. Great plots with plenty of adrenaline pumping scenes. But everything is tinged by a deep sadness. And you feel very sorry for Kate by the end.
This was a little slow for me. Took a couple chapters to get going. Really enjoyed this one! I normally don't buy additional books after reading a box set. Well I did for this one! I can't wait to see what happens!!!!
On the surface this is just another thriller about FBI agents. There are the usual criminals and murderers but there’s also a story of a young woman coming to terms with the world and herself. Definitely worth the read
I read all 17 books on this serie. Very good intrigues, I really enjoyed. But in the end let say the last four / five books oufff, Kate and her constant whining and insecurity was getting on my nerves.
