This was a really sweet Christmas romance tale. In this story the main character's father has grown ill and decided it was time for his only son to marry. So him and his very obnoxious wife decide to throw a small little Christmas ball with a few of society's highest eligible women. During this time his only younger sister has her best friend come to keep her company. Once things start to get heated between the sister's friend and him the mother steps in and arranges something horrible. I can't believe how wrong that was. Thankfully everything comes to light and he gets to decide for himself who he truly loves and not just what his duty is to his family and to their status. I love the happy ending and how strong minded his sister is. This is a very sweet historian short Christmas romance that proves your status or wealth doesn't defy how important you can be to someone that loves you truly for who you are
This read was quick and a little Christmasy. It was clean and lacked language. I felt like even though it was a short book there could have been better development throughout. I felt like it was all very surface level and you missed out on connecting with the characters. Overall it was an okay read.
This was a sweet short story, another glimpse into Regency England. I liked the characters and the story. And will look for more novels written by Sapphire Lebesque.
