She doesn’t trust him, but denying her feelings may be her biggest mistake.
General Evelyn Allen thrives on control and thrives even more when keeping arrogant aliens like Sub-Commander Rhade K’Vass at bay. But when a deadly storm traps them together, the fight she’s prepared for shifts into a battle against her own emotions. The ice between them begins to thaw, but can she afford to let him into her world—or her heart?
He thought she was untouchable, but she’s the only mission that matters.
Sub-Commander Rhade K’Vass knows what it’s like to be underestimated, but Evelyn Allen’s rejection cuts deeper than any enemy fire. When a dangerous storm traps them in isolation, he sees a chance to prove he’s more than the enemy she expects—and more than the pilot she dismisses. But every step closer to her reveals a side of himself he’s spent a lifetime hiding.
If they can’t bridge the gap between trust and passion, the storm will leave more than just their hearts in ruins…
Mina Carter is a New York Times & USA Today bestselling author of romance in many genres. She lives in the UK with her husband, daughter, a puppy who pays no attention to her whatsoever, and a bossy cat.
I wanted a short novella to read before bed so grabbed this from Kobo Plus. It wasn't groundbreaking, it wasn't bad, it delivered exactly what was promised. Recommend if you too just need something to palette cleanse.
A no-nonsense General and a quietly competent Sub-Commander are up and...well, they have some sparks. Not that they want to admit to those sparks. In fact, Evelyn keeps her guard up and stuffs down her attraction and tries to pretend she doesn't feel anything around Rhade. On Rhade's end, well, he does the same. Mostly because he thinks Evelyn doesn't notice him as anything other than her pilot.
It takes an encounter with another arrogant (and entitled) Lathar for the two of them to blow past their walls. To be fair, Rhade sort of fought his way out. Or just fought. Because that arrogant (and entitled) Lathar bothering Evelyn was NOT ABOUT TO LAY HANDS ON HIS WOMAN! Then a snowstorm hits and suddenly the two are forced to deal with one another in very close quarters.
While their blood is still running a little hot from Rhade's fight and Evelyn's near miss with a jerk.
Let's just say that these two can't ignore their chemistry for too long and leave it at that. *thumbs up*

Snowed in with the Alien Pilot de Mina Carter
Argumento:
Me encantaba Rhade y cómo adoraba a Evelyn.
I’ve wanted to read Snowed in with the Alien Pilot for possibly a couple of years now and I can’t remember how I found it, but I’m sure I was interested in it because of the cover since it’s absolutely gorgeous! I could have borrowed it earlier in the year, but I thought it was a Christmas book and I wanted to wait until it started getting cold. It’s not actually that Christmassy, but it’s definitely a winter book, so it was a good time to read it regardless of whether or not it had the Christmas spirit. I had a great time with Snowed in with the Alien Pilot because Rhade and Evelyn are both hot, competent, and capable. Evelyn is tough, dependable, and she has a strong work ethic and moral code. Rhade is disciplined, patient, and so completely gone for Evelyn, it’s very sweet. Snowed in with the Alien Pilot might have been a quick read and there’s not a huge plot, but these felt like such fully developed characters, I knew exactly who they are, and I was rooting for them to get together so hard! I’m happy they did and I’m for sure interested in reading the other books in this series!
It's been awhile since I've read a romance that I actually enjoyed and felt like I loved the characters. And honestly, this is the first short story romance that I found so immensely enjoyable. It seems like every short story romance I try to read ends up just being poor prose with an alpha-hole that I cannot stomach. I picked this title simply because of its status on the Kindle best selling list for 90 minute romance reads that didn't have the "typical" alpha-hole book cover. I decided to be adventurous and give this alien thing a try. I wasn't expecting much, but I already know what the alpha-hole cover short story romance Kindle books contain...
I'm glad I did. I'm enthralled. Intrigued.
I cannot wait to dive into the rest of the Lathar series. I was most assuredly not expecting that.
Highly recommended if you love the brooding, protective, but most importantly, respectful hero.
Rhade K’vas is a very handsome alien sub commander. He seems to stirs unwanted and repressed feeling in General Evelyn Allen. She responds by being aggressive in her manner towards him. Yet he is always calm in his responses towards her. He finagled to be her driver on the shuttle to an important galactic event she has been coerced to attend by her boss, whom she respects. He is pretty sure of his feelings for Evelyn but he hesitates as protocol and respect keeps him from ‘claiming’ her without her consent as his culture would dictate. Finally he is able to be with her even though she dismisses him as soon as they land. Later after he rescued her from an experience that she was rapidly losing control of and they were returning home, an unexpected storm forces her hand into making a life changing decision. Exciting, aggressively brutal and sexy told from dual aspects.

General Evelyn Allen was tired of the functions. Having to go to an event for President Murphy was exhausting. She had better things to do. When Sub-CDR Rhade K’Vass was picked to be her pilot to the event, a lot of grumbling was the least of her worry. I have to say when the one diplomat got handsy, I was glad the Rhade saved her. But he wants her as his mate. She is all he thinks about. Being stuck in a cabin while there is a major storm gives them a chance to connect. I have to say this was great. I hope we get a longer story about these two. You know they have to be mates. There is no way that they aren’t. Pleases tell me you are going to finish this story.
This is a short story with some action and romance. General Evelyn Allen was forced to go to a function for the president. Her pilot to the function is Sub-Commander Rhade K'Vass who is not her favorite pilot when she's not piloting the ship. Rhade saves her from an over zealous Latharian and they leave the function but it's not long before she has to land the ship due to weather. She lands close by a cabin she knows about. This is when things get a little lovey dovey between them but it just cuts off at that point.
This is incredibly basic smut. Strong warrior human who everyone respects, beautiful, virgin. I was going to DNF before I realized that I was 82% done, so I might as well finish it. This is so short. There's potential plot elements but none of that gets resolved as this appears to only be about sex. Except the sex is a very small portion of the book and quite frankly it's bad. This feels more like a fantasy wish fulfillment story.
Enjoyable but disappointed in how short the ending is.
I love this series and look forward to every addition to it. I feel like this one has let us down though. Yes - it is a short story - but I feel like it's not finished. It really wouldn't have taken a lot more to feel like there was a "proper" ending. Disappointed in how cut off the end is by I enjoyed the story otherwise.
I loved it!! Because it was a short story, of course, I wanted more because the Lathar are my absolute favorite alien series ever. I hope we see this couple again in the near future with their full story. Also, I hope that we get more of these shorts so that we see other secondary characters we have already met or even a catch-up with previous couples. Keep them coming, Mina! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have enjoyed reading this story and I look forward to reading more of them. This is a journey with her and her pilot from a another planet.I have enjoyed it and I hope there are more like this one.I would like to say thank you for all your hard work and may fortune smile 😃on you always 😁from a bookworm that loves to read.
I love that we get to meet another tough as nails, Female General. And I knew when I bought the book that it was a short story. But I wish there were a couple more chapters.
How long were they snowed in? What happened at the "party" after they left? So many questions that can't be addressed in a short novella.
Way too short but oh so yummy! I loved this novella but doggone it ended just when it was getting really good. Evelyn, the human general and Rhayne, the Latharian sub commander share a darn near combustible interlude while stuck in a cabin waiting out a storm. For a short spicy read this one would get six stars from me!
I don't know about the whole series, as I haven't read any other books by the author.
I picked it up for the easy plot and because I wanted an extra short read. I'm still not recovering from the ending, which was a bit too abrupt for me.
This book sizzles. The characters grab your interest right away. The lead characters both have strong personalities and you just know when they get together it will explode. It did. I don’t normally like to read short books, but this one had enough going on that it kept my interest. If there is a sequel, I will look for it.
It's not that this "book" is only 44 pages long. It's not that it costs 99 cents for only 44 pages. It is only half a story. It stops when any book would just be at a start. ...and I like this author. Bummer.
Perfect for taking a short break from this hectic season. We haven’t seen many older Latharians cinema mate, but Evelyn could make Rhade’s life. If she would give him the time of day. Just a really cute read.
Evelyn and Rhade have known each other for a while but have not acknowledged their attraction to each other. When they get snow bound in a cabin all bets are off. I loved seeing Evelyn letting Rhade in and I hope we’ll see more of them in the future.
Just when the story is getting good it ended! I need more LOL. What happens to the feisty general and the pilot? Were there ramifications from the fight at the ball? I’m feeling really cheated right now.
Not worth reading! I was very disappointed with this book. It ends so abruptly just as it starts to get interesting.. i usually enjoy this authors books and so I am hoping this was a prequel to a complete story.
Loved it. Just wish it had continued. I was so disappointed when it was over. I wanted more! Love Mina's work. I'm going to start reading from the beginning of the series. Kathy
Loved the story, strong woman finally sees the warrior that loves her. Reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was even though this is a short story it felt unfinished. Another chapter could have wrapped the story up nicely.
The story was really well written. Many avenues to explore or exposed. However, the story kept getting better and better and then it ended just like that. I had so many questions so many ideas of how it would go frustrated.
This book was basically one party scene and one sex scene. No plot, no development, just 0 to 60, all done. I love her books but this one was short changed on content.
I really liked this story however it ends abruptly. To me it ended where even for a novella I would have expected another couple of chapters. There is a link to the author's site for "more" but I could not find it only bonus material for other books. Otherwise a good short story in this series.
Too short! I would have preferred a longer, more robust story, but good for a short story. Would have liked the ending to be after their return to home base.
