The Time-travellers have pursued the Witch Sarah Bellows from Ancient Rome to the court of King Henry the Eighth, having foiled her plans to usurp the crown to meet her own ends; however in doing so, they have escalated the search, that leads them to Riverdell Village in Scotland in the year 1778. The Professor, Edith and Nova Mitchell have come home to Riverdell at the crucial point in the village, where history takes note that the Sisterhood perished by being burned at the stake after being caught by Witch-finder Kline. Jack Ryder and the rest of the Oregon crew become immersed in the fantastical tales of the legend of the Witches as they soon become part of what is regarded as a pivotal moment in the history of the village. Armed with the knowledge of the future, the travellers must find Sarah before she changes what will shape the village for centuries to come, and hope that they can return to an unaltered future, but Sarah knows that they have followed her home, and she is prepared for what is to come, whatever the cost...
