Dreaming Princesses #4

Golden Locks and Riddles

Rate this book
Dreams may be more than they seem…

Princess Opal of Ormio would have done anything to fit in, to be "just right." She counted on her lucky jewelry to protect her from Tanzi's attacks, but sleeping in the wrong bed pulls her into poisoned dreams of San Antonio, Texas. There, Opal loses her sense of consequences and gains a terrifying freedom. With no expectations or limitations on her consciousness, she joins Chase Bahr in his search to learn more about his brother's mysterious disappearance.

Crown Princess Diamond of Ormio would rather lose her sight or hearing than her memory. Fortunately, she knows exactly who and where she is: Diana Mason, native of Las Vegas, Nevada, newest employee of The Golden Pawn shop. She has no memory of her life as a princess in another world, but she dreams of it every night, including her co-workers Stan (as Prince Stanford of Uldra) and Mr. Rindlisbacher (the Riddle Maker of Rezhina). Dreams and reality blend when more than straw transforms into gold.

Continue Emer's adventure with her sisters and friends as they journey to wake the other princesses of Rezhina before Queen Tanzanite directs more than her nightmarish mære against them.

Continue the story of the princesses who have been attacked by another princess and asleep for 100 years. Throughout this series they learn their capabilities, their difficulties, and how much stronger they are together. The balance between the real world and the dream world melds together a they puzzle out how to fight against the clock.
C. Rae D'Arc brings her characters to life with vivid descriptions and quips that make the story fun and more realistic, even though they all have magic ready to be released.

I laughed the most with Opal’s story; and related to Dia’s personality, and love story! Such a fantastic addition to the series!

The fourth novel in the Dreaming Princesses series continues the pattern of royal daughters falling under a sleeping curse. In each case, the victims travel to Earth, have an adventure, then awaken back in their home world. The retellings this time are Goldilocks and the Three Bears for one princess, and The Miser’s Daughter / Rumplestilskin for the other.
This series has both high and urban fantasy elements—both cleverly done. The bears in Goldilocks and the gold in Rumplestilskin are integrated in a surprisingly delightful way. The books are highly creative. The romance is clean and wonderful. The humor is top-notch.
Riddles, gold, and bears—oh, my! This fourth entry in this series is a winner. Go spin some straw into gold and purchase this novel as soon as possible.

I enjoyed the many ways the princesses protected themselves & the tension that formed because of the dreams! If this is really a cliffhanger, it’s perfectly geared to make me want to read the next book!
