Author turns totally irrational/illogical, nonsensical in this third volume. It is common to see an author run out of ideas by the 3-5 volumes of their fantasy novel series. The thing is, main character, is criminally prosecuted by his virtual profile's uncle, supposedly for the murder of his virtual profile's brother in the VRMMORPG (Virtual Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game) that he is currently involved in. The author writes that the Judge demands that the main character has to prove his innocence (as if, there was no constitutional rights, due process of law, innocence until proven guilty). The thing is, even in the Russian Federation (Lifetime Dictatorship by the genocidal Putin), in any criminal trial, the Public Attorneys are required by Constitutional Law to prove beyond a reasonable doubt, that the main character is guilty. It is not the job/role of the person being charged with the crimes, to prove their innocence. This law system is called the accusatory law system (where a person is innocent until proven guilty) and they are NOT REQUIRED TO PROVE THEIR INNOCENCE, much LESS PROVE THEIR GUILT. So the judge allows prosecuting uncle to act as a kind of Attorney General and take his virtual nephew (main character) to the plane crash to determine the guilt of main character??? This is crazy. Uncle has an obvious conflict of interest and could never be prosecutor and executioner, especially if he gets to inherit all of the "familiy's wealth" by condemning his "virtual nephew" to becoming an eternal undead. It's irrational, illogical and senseless. To actually require in a game to the consequences of a "virtual profile in a video game" is absurd, because the players have no say in what the game company creates as a profile to the players.
Then the idea that this game world opens the Underworld, and allows the players to become "half-demons", make pacts with the devil, etc. is nonsensical/irrational, etc. the game is really not going anywhere, and it appears that the author has run out of ideas, and since this fantasy novel series really has not tried to complete main theme or secondary arcs ( Main theme: abilities and skills from game world become true and real abilities in the real world). Secondary theme arcs: the quest series from the Goddess, the possibility of an amorous relationship with main character's love interest, the conflicts that the main character has with the Rats Guild, with the other PK (Player Killer) players, etc. etc. etc.)
VRMMORPG's usually use teleportation to travel from place to place within the game. This author uses air travel (like old planes in the real world). The game system is really not well described or developed. There is no real explanation to the game cabins, the reasons behind the skills and abilities distributed in the game and how they become real skills in real life.
So far this is the worst book of the series. The first book being the best, then lowering the content and entertaining value on the second book, etc.
This is the first book of this series that I haven't liked and do not recommend.
