Rebel agent Heather Slade leads a dangerous and unsanctioned mission…

When Heather obtains partial intel about a prisoner of war camp from a journalist who dies before revealing the camp’s location, she’s desperate to know more. Her missing family might be held there. Using a voice-altering device to sound like billionare donor Martin Slade, she calls President Blockwell, demanding information about the secret camp. It’s a risky move that backfires when Blockwell’s guards lock Martin in an asylum to torture him for information that could compromise Heather.

Heather’s determined to rescue the billionaire, but HQ orders her to stand down. Their plan is to send a kill team after Martin to protect Heather’s secrets, ending her spy career and the chance to find her missing daughter. Disobeying HQ’s orders, she organizes an off-book mission with agents Miguel Robles, Worm, and Raven to infiltrate the hospital and extract Martin.

If HQ learns she’s inside, they could trigger her kill device, ending more than her career. Heather must stay one step ahead of HQ, but she’s committed to saving Martin and herself…if she survives the insane asylum.

This is a tension-filled story. Heather Slade is playing a deeply covert game, that is not a game at all. Humanity and empathy seem to be non-existent in most of the Patriots that she interacts with, as the opening scene indicates. She is walking on a sidewalk when she watches a man that she’s been searching for get gunned down in front of her. She receives his cryptic message before he dies, which sets off the chain of events included in this book.

There is a lot of action in this book! The tension stays pretty tight throughout the story, and the pacing is strong. As usual, her team of friends and coworkers come through with assistance and technology when needed. She’s getting closer to discovering some of her memories from who she was before she became Heather Slade. She has a history with Miguel Robles, and Ghost and Madame X also seem to know a lot more than they are saying. There is real affection for her ‘father,’ Martin Slade, and a budding friendship between Heather and the wife of a senator as well as with the First Lady.

This is a complex story that builds on the first two books in this series. This series is brilliant and thought-provoking. This is some of Kimberley Troutte’s best work to date, and this series is definitely worth reading!

Heather receives a message about a camp from a journalist who literally dies in her arms. Heather along with Miguel, Hammer, Raven and Worm make it their mission to locate the Patriot Labor Camp and end Authoritarian President Blockwell's reign of terror. In the process she endangers the life of her "father" Martin Slade also putting at stake her cover, her life and finding the camp. From the first sentence through the twist and turns there was a sense of danger (and a touch of romance) in this post second Civil War setting brilliantly created by the author. I highly recommend this fast-paced thriller but be warned once you start you won't be able to put it down. The book is left on a cliff hanger which is my only complaint- luckily there was a "sneak peek" into the next chapter of this amazing series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Intel ~The Infiltrix Series #3 by Kimberley Troutte

Another thrilling mission for Heather Slade! This time, a lead from a journalist hints at a secret prisoner-of-war camp—but before he can reveal the location, he tragically dies. What follows is a brilliantly written mystery, packed with suspense, twists, and turns that will keep you hooked from the first page to the last.

Kimberley Troutte delivers yet again with her sharp storytelling and compelling characters. The pacing is tight, the stakes are high, and the emotional depth adds an extra layer to the intrigue.

With its gripping plot and strong heroine, The Intel is a must-read for fans of romantic suspense and espionage thrillers. Highly recommended!

The Intel just keeps revving up the suspense and danger in the Infiltrix Series by Kimberley Troutte. James Bond has nothing on Heather Slade who is able to hide in plain sight. In fact, this super woman could teach him a thing or do while looking cool as a cucumber and perfectly dressed even if it is in a man’s shirt. Don’t forget Miguel, he is one of the few people that Heather can truly trust.

If you haven’t started the series the third book may seem overwhelming but all who love a great written thriller should read this series. It is edge-of-your-seat exciting as well as almost heart-stopping at times. I can highly recommend this series.

The Intel
By Kimberley Troutte

Each one of these books just gets better and better and makes the reader wonder "What if...?"
Once again we have our band of spies with Heather Slade, Miguel Robles, Raven, Worm and Hammer trying to save Martin Slade from a Infinity mental hospital. One of the worst places to be and reminiscent of the camps from war because this is were people are sent because they know too much about about the presidents practices.

There will be many twists and turns, last minute rescues with everyone as we inch closer to the who and why of the Patriots and Free States and the missing people from before the war. There's a cliffhanger of course before we get to the next book to find out who's the Mole and maybe some answers.
