Ugh, the Cross Bone Brothers are just amazing. I could not put this book down. It will keep you engaged the entire book. This book had such a good thrill to it, and it will have your heart RACING!!
I loved Zeke and Layla in Slater and Carena’s book, and it was so great to see their relationship blossom. I am such a sucker for a grumpy sunshine book, and this was perfectly captured. I love seeing how a tough guy like Zeke, can be so loving and protective over Layla. Zeke is a man of few words, but will show Layla through actions how much he loves her, and how far he will go to protect her.
I cannot wait for the next book!

This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions and feelings. Some good. Some ehhhh
The couple, Layla and Zeke were cute together. Annoyed by how men think they need to push the girl away, but also why didn’t she make him grovel more?? Like come on???? But I know it’s cause they had been in love for a while by this point and she just wanted her man. And you could feel the love they have through the book.
My biggest peeve with the story is the constant change of names within on little talk?? Like anymore Layla was talking she would switch between Zekes name and also him road name, literally while finishing her same thought and it’s through out the whole dang book.
But it was a good story, and I enjoyed the couple and all the found family aspects for the group. (Minus the ending cause my god, I’m so going to upset if this is becoming someone’s villain era and I don’t want it)

My Review: I liked this book, however, I had forgotten a lot of things since reading the previous book that left me a bit confused at times. You definitely need to read the first book because there wasn’t a whole lot of details given in this one about Zeke and Layla’s relationship prior. Zeke and Layla are a great couple and I loved their story, but I felt this book focused heavily on Hayden and Carena and it felt like they should have been given a duet to let Zeke and Layla really shine in this one by themselves. Another critique is that each chapter could have benefited from having a header that stated who the POV was from. It took me a minute each time to realize whose POV I was reading. Also, it’s really strange to switch between the characters real name and road name mid-sentence all the time. Sometimes Layla was saying Zeke and then all of a sudden it’s Dagger, and that is a weird way of talking in my opinion. Overall, I really enjoy this series, it just has a few flaws that keeps it from being 5 stars.

Skylar really knows how to write a story that keeps her readers fully engaged! The story line in this book is just as addicting as the first book in this series. I really enjoyed Layla and Zeke, together they were unhinged but sweet. Layla is a true sunshine-y girl, a bit timid and a little frighten by the entirety for the Cross Bone Brotherhood. But Zeke is good for her and vice versa - Zeke is tough expect with her, and truly just wants to protect her. I appreciated that Zeke showed his love for Layla mostly through action knowing that would mean more to her, especially after his royal f**k up in the beginning. I enjoyed that the majority of the story involves all of the MC characters, Hayden and Carena are just as unhinged in this book as they are in their own, if not a little more. I also enjoyed getting a better understanding of some other side characters - Viper, Veronica and Reaper. I think their more elaborate introductions in this book really allow for the story line to continue with just about anyone in the next book! Thank you to Skylar for having me on her ARC team for this book, I cannot wait to read the next! Get your copy of His Distraction on Jan 28!!

The Cross Bone Brothers series will probably go down as my favorite MC series to date!
Skylar has a talent for giving you relatable & HILARIOUS characters with spicy attitude, SMUTTTT, storyline and the ability to keep you guessing with every plot twist. As much as I loved the first book in the series, "His Distraction" kept me in a chokehold and got me out of the worst book rut of my life. I loved seeing more to Zeke and Layla's relationship. While "it's complicated" at some points, you can truly see how much they truly care for one another, especially Zeke in this possessive alpha way. Carena will forever be my spirit animal! Zeke was hot, misunderstood at points but so protective and willing to do everything and anything to keep Layla happy. The plot twists were a 5/5 and the action alone kept me at the edge of my seat. I couldn't tell where she was going to take this book, but I can say she did not disappoint. Overall, 10/10 read, one of my FAVES for 2025 and I need book 3 ASAP. :)

Zeke and Layla are something else. Their dynamic is so different than i’m used to but honestly it was kinda cute at the same time. At first I did hate Zeke but I slowly warmed up to him. I always loved Layla. She’s such a sweetheart. They really would do anything for each other. And it shows. Skylar did a fantastic job with their story. I was hooked from the start and I never wanted to put it down. I even read the first 60% in one sitting because I didn’t want it to end.
I definitely recommend reading book 1- His Obsession first as you do get introduced to Zeke and Layla, and personally I felt that helped me get to know them better. I also recommend checking out the TW’s prior to reading. Otherwise I highly recommend!!

As Zeke and Layla work to figure out where they stand with each other and in their relationship, they are also trying to figure out who is trying to end the Cross Bone Six. Are they an outsider or is it an inside job?
There were so many times where I got chills, and where my heart was racing from everything that was happening. And I honestly wasn’t expecting the twist at the end. That really gave me a wth moment.
I can’t wait to read about what happens to the brothers next and who gets the leading role in the next one!

Geez that book was 'bloody' good!!!
The relationship between Zeke and Layla was friendly - at first, they had such great chemistry, hot for each other - but Zeke was worried at her being a retaliation target for the MC.
He couldn't stay away, especially when he learned she was leaving town, taking a job in Alaska - he couldn't deal with the fact that he was losing her - he worked fast, working his 'magic', she was staying, and he was never letting her go.
Trouble did, indeed, hit the club - Layla and Carena were targets - but they'd been taught how to defend themselves, and they had to - with consequences hitting them all, and taking a brother away.

This is book 2 in this series. Layla has it in her mind that the MC life is not for her and tries to leave. When Zeke finds out he stops pushing her away and fights for her, something he should have done from the start. This book is easy to follow, spice, action packed, HEA, and witty banter from Carena that makes an appearance in this book as well. The only thing that I did not like was the back and forth from the male’s club name and their legal name. It made it confusing and a little hard to keep track of who was who and why they were during what one was currently reading. This would have been a five star if it wasn’t for that name issue. Hopefully that is addressed in the next books.

This was a good MC book with a nice mix of romance and action that kept me engaged the whole way through. I enjoyed Layla's character the most in this book. She is so kind hearted and her strong even after everything she has been through. Zeke definitely took some time to warm up to, but I really admired the lengths that he would go for Layla and how deep his love for her really is. I did not read book 1 of this series, but I didn't have any issues reading this as a standalone. However, I do think that it would've provided better background context to certain events.

Zeke and Layla literally had me in a chokehold the entire time! I cannot express enough how much I love these books. Between the love that the characters have for each other and the sense of family that you feel from them it is just a wonderful story. I feel like I am right there along with them. I find myself thinking about the characters throughout the day and just wanting to dive right back into their world. I cannot wait for book 3 to come out.

Skylar A Blevins has outdone herself in her second book of the Cross Bones Brothers series. This second installment of the interconnected series follows a new couple, Zeke and Layla, who are the best friends of the original couple in book 1. I am so in love with this series because, while you are following the new couple, you don't completely break away from Carena and Hayden's love story and struggles. The plot was plotting from page 1 through the end of the book and I was sucked in!! The spice was top-notch and had me fanning myself as I sped through this story. It's so raw and emotional while still having the fast pacing and action of an MC romance. I can not recommend this book enough!!

The FMC is such a sweet girl with so much spunk, as well as insecurities and trauma a lot of people can relate to, which makes this story even better! There is never a dull moment, the twists and turns are so unexpected you can't stop reading! It is so action packed!!

The wait for this book was so long but so worth it. Much like the first, it sucked me in and had me addicted from the start. Skylar has a way of making the characters just come off the page. You become obsessed with them and need to read fast but also don't want it to end. Dark and twisty with plenty of spice, everything you expect from an mc novel. If you want overly obsessive men who don't take no for an answer, this is the book for you! Cannot wait for the next book!

I am obsessed with Skylar and her cross bones brothers. I loved Zeke and Laylas story just as much as the first book. The grumpy Zeke pushes Layla away it’s the only way to keep her safe if she is far away from club business. With Zeke turning on Layla she is ready to move out of state and start over. I can’t get enough of this series and this left a lot of questions waiting to be answered

I absolutely love this series. Just when I thought things couldn't get more crazy for the Cross Bone Brothers, they did. The violence mixed with smut combination gave such a great contrast and kept the storyline moving, exciting, and wanting to keep turning the pages. I cannot wait to see what is next for this wild group.

Well dang. Just like the first one, I enjoyed this book. I love when Zeke snapped out of it and finally accepted that he's obsessed with Layla, how he was with her. Same with Layla with him.
That ending got me. I really need to know what happens with a character and where they end up. I feel for them, but I'm also so conflicted! I can't wait to find out more.

I DEVOURED this book as quickly as the first. The story sucks you right in and keeps you entertained the entire time! Perfect addition to the series, and I can't wait until the next book to see what happens with the club next!!

Loving these books - this one is full of action from the beginning. The enemies are out there somewhere but need help from the inside, the trouble is these boys can’t figure out who the enemy is until it’s nearly too late but the damage is already done.

His Distraction is the second book in the Cross Bone Brother series which follows Zeke and Layla who I was so excited to read about especially after reading the first book in this series. Zeke is sweet, loyal and very protective of Layla as they try to figure out where they stand with each other. Layla is non-confrontational and quiet but with someone wanting to destroy the Cross Bone Brothers she finds herself unable to walk away and proving she can handle her own. If you are looking for a spicy romance story filled with action, betrayal, and an ending that will take you by surprise than I definitely recommend reading this book. I really enjoyed this story and sat most of it on the edge of my seat needing to know what was going to happen next and I can't wait for the next book because there is so much more I need to know.

If you love a fast paced MC romance with an obsessive, dirty talking MMC — you need to read this series!
This is the second book in The Cross Bone Brothers series and follows Zeke & Layla’s relationship. Just like the first book in the series, this was PACKED with action from start to finish! Skylar def knows how to pull in a reader and take her on a hell of a ride - pun intended! There was not ONE dull moment in here and this book was filled with everything from suspense, swoon worthy moments to straight up unhinged shit but definitely an amazing read.
I loved how each of the brothers play a role in the story and even the minor characters add to the plot. The relationship between Layla & Carena as always is one of my favorite things. They are fiercely loyal to one another and I love that! And Carena & Slater are still as unhinged as ever and honestly some of the scenes were hilarious between the couples!
Zeke & Layla together made perfect sense. If there’s a person that truly “got her” it’s Zeke. Even though he pushed her away in the beginning, in the end, he came to his senses. He was so fiercely protective over Layla and definitely was more show than tell when it came to his feelings for her. Layla as an FMC was the sunshine to Zeke’s grumpiness (though I didn’t find him to be that much of a grump) and the calm to Carena’s chaos (which made for some serious LOL moments) but she also dealt with her own dark past and abandonment issues. I loved how she was honest with herself and Zeke about what she needed and what triggered her. I think by the end of the book, she’s more confident in her relationship with Zeke and her place in the club which is a worry for her throughout the story as she doesn’t think club life is for her.
Just like with the first book, Skylar’s writing pulled me in from the start and had me in a chokehold til the end! And again, just like the first book, the ending left me 😱😱😱
I definitely recommend starting with His Distraction to be introduced to all the major players in the series and see where it all began. This is the only MC romance I’ve actually gotten into and that’s saying something because this is not my usual cup of tea!

This is the second book in The Cross Bone Brothers series and follows Zeke & Layla’s relationship. Just like the first book in the series, this was PACKED with action from start to finish! Skylar def knows how to pull in a reader and take her on a hell of a ride - pun intended! There was not ONE dull moment in here and this book was filled with everything from suspense, swoon worthy moments to straight up unhinged shit but definitely an amazing read.
I loved how each of the brothers play a role in the story and even the minor characters add to the plot. The relationship between Layla & Carena as always is one of my favorite things. They are fiercely loyal to one another and I love that! And Carena & Slater are still as unhinged as ever and honestly some of the scenes were hilarious between the couples!
Zeke & Layla together made perfect sense. If there’s a person that truly “got her” it’s Zeke. Even though he pushed her away in the beginning, in the end, he came to his senses. He was so fiercely protective over Layla and definitely was more show than tell when it came to his feelings for her. Layla as an FMC was the sunshine to Zeke’s grumpiness (though I didn’t find him to be that much of a grump) and the calm to Carena’s chaos (which made for some serious LOL moments) but she also dealt with her own dark past and abandonment issues. I loved how she was honest with herself and Zeke about what she needed and what triggered her.
