Easy to read guide to index funds. Indexing takes out all the guesswork,and most of the expense, of stock picking and/or mutual funds.

Funds seem like the perfect solution to the stock problem until you find out that index funds beat 90% of managed funds at a fraction of the cost.

Evans and Malkiel tak you by the hand and guide you gently through the maze of retirement planning.

I've read a number of retirement/finance/investing books and this one tops them all for practicability and simplicity. No get rich quick plan here. The tortoise wins the race.
