Whoever said life begins at forty must have been heavily medicated, drunk, or delusional.
Three funerals without the deceased present? Crisis.
One wedding run by drag queens with questionable taste in music? Semi-crisis, but doable.
Dead showing up on my porch who have already crossed over? Colossal sh*tshow.
This is what forty looks like for me. But now I have an even bigger problem. The Higher Power wants my daughter. It’s not happening. Period.
With the love of my Immortal life by my side, along with the profane Keeper of Fate, a gaggle of mostly-intact ghosts, and a few former enemies I’m going to end the madness once and for all. Hopefully, I don’t die trying.
Midlife’s a journey. Enjoy the ride. The crisis is definitely included.
However, anything, and I mean, anything, is possible as long as I believe.
Robyn writes because the people inside her head won’t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include shoes (the expensive kind), Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, and bejeweled reading glasses. A former professional actress, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count. Writing gives her a chance to have a job where working in her P.J.’s is acceptable. I stopped at about 14 percent. Not sure if I'm just in the wrong mood, but I wasn't finding the Candy/Gran thing at all funny today. Just repetitive. I'll come back to it when I'm in a better mood.
Ok, this is getting ridiculous, you’re selling short story excerpts as novels and ending with cliff hangers like a soap on TV? Each “book”starts with the last chapter of the previous book, lately- it’s the last 2 chapter, is this a word count thing? Bitch, you fail! this is a great story line but the author-is shitting out the bare minimum and frankly after 13 books …. Yeah nah. There are better authors who get to the point faster. Im going to imagine how this ends Seriously, you are talented as a writer but are you that money hungry you fuck with your fans?
The violence and bad language are off the charts, to the point that they lose the power to shock, or even be funny. The theme of Daisy learning to accept everyone no matter how disgusting and rude has become so solid that there are no surprises there either. I'm with Richy, I'm tired. I don't know if will bother with 14.
I love this series but I feel like these books are getting shorter and shorter. The same crazy cast of characters is back for yet even more crazy adventures. At this point I feel like the series is just being drawn out. Not sure if I’ll continue.
Tropes & Themes Multiverse — Earthly Plane, Higher Power’s Plane, Mortal Plane, etc. The Higher Power is on a Power High Unchecked Power Child-in-Peril
Many thanks to Hambright PR and Robyn Peterman for Someone Save My Midlife Tonight! 💀🌸
"The one thing I knew for sure… the Higher Power was after our baby. Even if we wanted to avoid the fight, we couldn’t. We had no choice. Teaming up to face the ultimate being was a means to an end. Possibly the end of the Higher Power. Possibly the end of us and the universe as we knew it. Either way, we were about to find out. If the creator was after my daughter, I would go after It and make It pay."
Someone Save My Midlife Tonight, Book 13 of Good To The Last Death, by Robyn Peterman follows Daisy and her gang of merry misfits as they traverse through a multiverse of magic and mayhem, complete with explosions and jazz squares –both courtesy of a new character named, appropriately, “sh1tty Richie.” In this installment the Higher Power is on a power trip of epic proportions, with no checks or balances, and she wants Daisy and Gideon’s daughter, Alana Catherine. Hijinks and hilarity ensues, in this paranormal women’s fiction.
I loved the supernatural skunks that surrounded young Alana Catherine –it took me by surprise but considering the symbolism, it made sense. There are other themes, including the symbolism of the number three that added to the intriguing storyline and overall magical system.
The replacement words used in place of the usual profanity-laced dialogue managed to be funnier and somehow raunchier than actual curse words. Overall, a fun and magical romp through the multiverse, featuring a middle-aged woman thrust into a world that is anything but mundane.
I love Robyn Peterman’s characters and her fun writing style. I look forward to the next installment after that cliffhanger, where I momentarily lapsed into the Profane Keeper of Fate. 🤬😂
Recommended to fans of supernatural and paranormal fiction, with romance and comedy!
Awe man! Another cliffhanger! Someone is holding too much power for being so evil and not playing by their own rules. As always, there are many surprises and a lot of bloody fighting. There’s also some turd knobbing jizz poppers going around (you’ll know what I’m talking about when you read this book).
This series also always makes me think about how there is always spiritual warfare going on behind the scenes that we humans don’t know about. Ya, it’s all a bit exaggerated, but I believe there’s still something there. I love how your mind works, Robyn!
We also meet a new character named… we’ll just say Richard Smith since I can’t or shouldn’t put bad words in my review. However, there are plenty of bad words in this book! 😜
Next is book 14 “Semi-Charmed Midlife” that comes out on September 29, 2025. I hope I remember everything that happened in this book when that date comes! This is such an amazing series!
My next ‘to read’ book is book 13 by Gina LaManna from her Detective Kate Rossetti Mystery series: “If the Shoe Fits.” This is not a paranormal series, but it does have snark and a tough woman like Peterman’s books.
This book was crazy, wild, unbelievable, rolling on the floor laughing funny, suspenseful and even a bit sad every so often. I loved every single page of it. The new characters get more wildly imaginative, yet fascinating and most we fall in love with. As far as character development read the previous 12 books so you can get a clear picture from the beginning. Then as this series progresses you can see the characters evolve. As for the recently introduced characters in this book well lets just say the characters were thoroughly described and there mannerisms including voices, I cannot get them out of my head as I write this...lol Ms. Robyn Peterman has the most creative brain that has not only created all the wacky characters for this series but several other series. And all are laughing out loud fun stories to read. The only negative is once you stop reading any of Ms. Peterman's book you cannot put them down until you finish. It is now 5:04am and I will now be going to sleep. Loved this story!!
Someone Save My Midlife Tonight is book 13 in the Good to the Last Death Series. This series is best if read in order as there is somewhat of a continue timeline.
Robyn Peterman has me obsessed with her writing and characters. Her books are fun, touching and will make you laugh. This series is no different and I find myself loving each book in this series more and more. You will find the characters unique in their own way and the found family that Robyn has created will give you a sense of home....all while making you pee your pants because of the hilarity. If you love a fabulous paranormal romance series that you don't want to end. Start with this one but don't blame me when you find yourself staying up late and downloading book after book.
Someone Save my Midlife Tonight Good to the Last Death # 13 By Robyn Peterman
Thank you to @hambright_pr and @robynpetermanauthor for my copy. My review was voluntary.
This was such an enjoyable, hysterically funny read. I absolutely loved the humour in this book and am obsessed with the characters. They are completely unique and I adore Candy Cargo who is a total badass. I wonder what Tom Hanks thinks of his appearance in this book. 😂
The story ends on a cliffhanger of course but the next installment is Semi-Charmed Midlife and is available on KU.
Peterman's books are always full of action, heart and love. If you're looking for something to lift your spirits and love paranormal stories filled with humour, grab this binge-worthy series. You won't regret it.
Thank you, Robyn Peterman & Hambright PR, for this ARC of Someone Save My Midlife Tonight!
This was a fun and quick paranormal read. I have been looking for paranormal/supernatural books that aren't scary, and this was a great one!
I enjoyed reading about Daisy and her family and the mysteries surrounding her daughter. There was so much funny banter that it made me smile.
If you're looking for a paranormal series to binge-read, there are 12 other books in the series - and the 14th book - Semi-Charmed Midlife will be released on September 29th!
Another incredible installment to this series! This author's writing is so fun and easy to enjoy! The humor is something else 🤣🤣🤣 This story had me laughing so hard I was crying!
Robyn's imagination is amazing, and I love it so much! If you're into paranormal reads, I highly suggest this series. You definitely won't be disappointed!
Tropes: 💞Hysterical 💞Paranormal 💞Cliffhanger 💞Full of action
Thanks so much to the author and Hambright Pr for the ARC!
The gang is fighting for their lives and Candy Vargo is trying to quit swearing! We get several new characters including an Immortal called Shitty Ritchie who’s going to be important in the future. Poor Gideon and Daisy lost yet another house and are still not getting that honeymoon any time soon. Lots of action and it’s hilarious listening to the new terms Candy Grams and Daisy concocted to replace the usual f-bombs. Tim gets an unexpected surprise and Alana Catherine acts like no baby you’ve ever met.
I love Ms. Peterman's books! She writes such interesting stories about the paranormal world. Always full of love, but with challenges along the way. And I especially love her sense of humor. I always can't wait for her next book to come out. You won't be sorry to buy any of her books.
Robyn Peterman never ever disappoints. This was an excellent addition to her Midlife series. She has the ability to completely engross the reader in her world and leave you wanting more. I'd recommend this series to anyone who loves to laugh and enjoy every minute of the story.
The Higher Power is back with a horde of zombies and it wants Alana Catherine. Well now, you know bad ass Daisy Jones, AKA the Death Counselor, AKA the Angel of Mercy, is not going to let anything happen to her precious baby girl.
This installment in the Good to the Last Death series introduces a couple of new characters with Shitty Ritchie as a clear favorite. I can’t wait to see the character arc in store for this doll-sized holy terror. Like the rest of the books in this series, this one is full of heart, laughs, and action. And like always, it leaves you wanting more.
The entire series for free with #KindleUnlimited.
Thank you, @RobynPetermanAuthor and @Hambright_PR for my gifted copy.
This series is so fun to read because of the ridiculousness of it. Candy Vargo makes this particular story. There's angst, laughter, surprises, craziness, and a complete story with a massive hook for the next book. Three is a magical number and I love the way the meaning for it is revealed.
You know, I really dislike when there's a pregnancy trope, or unexpected child story. I was prepared not to like it here when it happened several books back. However... it just feeds into the crazy of these stories, and I love them so much.
This is probably one of my favorite series out there, just because I laugh so much while reading it!
2.5 stars. While I'm enjoying the overall story, I probably shouldn't have read most of these back to back as there's a lot of repetitive wording and character behavior. I would be happy to never read the word "blanche" again. Also, the ongoing swearing chastisement is a lot and this book took it to a silly extreme that I felt distracted from the story.
I am going to continue with the series as in whole I enjoy it. Some parts are getting little far fetched. No spoilers but how did no one know about…? To me at least one of them should have noticed something with them.
I need all the rest of the books to be available NOW! I cannot wait. I need to know the rest of the story! On the other hand, I don't want the story to end. It is too good. Good luck to the rest of you.
Incredible edition to the Good to the last death series! Brilliant twists and turns. Just as funny as ever and adore our new character! He’s brilliant! I can’t wait for the next edition to release… it’s release day now, isn’t it…what if I said please?
It was fun to dive back into all of the antics of the characters in these books. I have laughed out loud at some of the parts of these books. I can't wait to get to the next book.
