[Thanks to Viz and Edelweiss for a review copy of this manga in exchange for an unbiased review.]

This story opens with our male lead, Ikezawa, making a comment about Eguchi, the female lead, and her tits (his phrasing, not mine). And the volume ends with a bonus manga that shows her bare breasts, which I could do without (Viz putting that explicit content warning to use).

You’d think this would be the prelude to me dumping all over this story, but, to my own incredible shock, this is actually kind of funny and engaging. Oh, it is way more ecchi than I typically go for, but the story makes up for it.

Ikezawa manages to go about eleven pages of being a creep before Eguchi literally proves herself to be his equal in terms of sexual harassment. If anything, poor Ikezawa’s lecherous comments quickly get outpaced by how crazy pervy Eguchi will get at the drop of a hat.

Want to make your ecchi comedy palatable? Have both characters give as good as they get. Yes, Eguchi’s been issued manga female breasts, but Ikezawa gets put through the wringer as well. Sure, she has the majority of the fan service, but Ikezawa absolutely gets drawn here as Eguchi sees him. It’s way more equal than we’d normally see.

And Eguchi’s hysterical thirstiness is, for some reason, boundlessly amusing to me. The scene where she ends up in Ikezawa’s room and starts updating her mental file based on his sleeping position is straight up funny.

It helps that after affecting his totally cool horndog persona, Ikezawa starts becoming the shy and bashful one as Eguchi gets more and more ridiculous around him. No, this isn’t exactly a healthy relationship yet, but it’s definitely a very believable teenage lusting.

Ikezawa also has the teenage boy habit of saying the wrong thing with aplomb. He attempts to make a crack at Eguchi over her uniform being tight around the chest, but she thinks he’s saying she gained weight and clobbers him.

You probably won’t like this if you’re tired of this sort of story. I’m not even sure why I picked this up, but I am glad I did. It’s got more running underneath the hood than simple ‘see giant breasts and panties’, even if part of that is ‘hey, check out this dude’s abs and his undies’.

That all said, I would say this is decidedly less hornball than 2.5 Dimensional Seduction, which goes way further way more often. This mostly stays in the titillation realm until that bonus chapter, opting for lots of posing instead.

But I won’t defend this too much - it’s not some brilliant work of fiction that should be held high for all to gaze at in awe. Honestly, the manga’s title could also refer to how I’d feel being seen reading it in public (e-reader to the rescue!).

Yet it’s also not bad and I had a really solid series of chuckles at what quickly evolves into two characters squaring off over their mutual feelings. They just need the confidence to move forward, but that’s probably a few volumes off. Volumes that I am actually looking forward to reading.

3.5 stars - an acquired taste sort of manga, but it’s got more going for it than a lot of other books in its genre. It’s almost worth it just for the novelty of both leads being posed all over creation for a change; I had a surprisingly good time with it and will definitely be back to see where these goofs go next.

What did I read!?

When this started off, I thought this was going to be a normal guy suddenly notices a girl is hot and has to deal with his feelings toward her sort of story. Oh how wrong I was. This was hilarious. I love how it kind of takes the trope of a teenage guy noticing a girl he likes and kind of flips the script a bit to give the guy a dose of his own medicine. The art was great, super pretty. We have been blessed lately with a lot of romance manga in this sort of art style. Delicate line work, really detailed close up shots, the funny chibi moments; I just love it. The story is really funny. It gives the same kind of vibes as Akira Failing in Love, but on the more spicy side.

What I really like about this manga is that it doesn’t come off as super fan-service-y until one bit at the very end. So if you don’t like that sort of thing, you can kind of see that one scene coming and just skip over it. It easily could have gone really over the top with this, and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t. Hopefully it doesn’t get too fan-servicey later on. It doesn’t bother me too much, but I also think this story doesn’t need it. It’s already really funny and really cute. It had me laughing out loud. (I am such a huge fan of physical comedy in all media and one bit in particular got me really good. More of that please and thank you.)

I already want the next volume of this. Crossing my fingers that they put the next volume up on Netgalley, too! Thanks so much to Netgalley and VIZMedia for the DRC!

Girl, don't piss me off. What in are we even doing?

This could be an incredible manga and so charming, but instead, it made me feel icky inside. It's 2026. There are plenty of romance manga and shoujo that focus on young adults. ADULTS, bro. Not 15 or 16-year-olds.

Here are the positives: the arts are great, and the pining is lovely. Our main characters are funny, sweet, and charming. The theme of learning your sexuality and how to feel about it CAN be a perfect setup for teenagers. Buttttt, this book went about it the wrong way.

The big negative, as said above, is that this book sexualizes minors. I think it's really weird for Viz to publish this. Teenagers experience desire and love, and romance; that's okay. Writing a book about those experiences is what YA authors do. What's not okay is writing this for an adult audience and still having the main characters be teenagers.

Do better VIZ.

Thank you to Netgalley, VizMedia, and mm k for the opportunity to read an ARC of this title. An honest review was requested but not required.

Very… interesting.

On one hand I really enjoyed the subversion of the female subjugation trope by having the girl heckle the boy just as aggressively.

On the other hand, I was a little uncomfortable with the level of aggression. Male- or female-directed.

On one hand I thought it was sweet how the two main characters came to appreciate and then fall for each other.

On the other hand, I’m an adult, and these are teens, and it felt… awkward.

The level of exaggeration of Eguchi’s body was also awkward, for me personally. DEFINITELY not a book I could read at work. LOL

So, mixed feelings I suppose. I appreciate what the creator was going for, but I wasn’t comfortable with it. (Was that also a goal? If so, mission accomplished.)

This book is very sexy!

Eguchi is a teenage girl in Japan with a figure like Dolly Parton's, except Eguchi's breasts might be larger than Dolly's. Ikezawa is a boy in Eguchi's class who makes a rude observation about her breasts, as a "compliment." I love how she then comments on various parts of his body, his neatly trimmed nails, his exposed neck, and when he bends over, you can almost see his nipples since he leaves his shirt unbuttoned. She's simply "complimenting" him, but he becomes extremely uncomfortable. It's the turning of the tables that makes this entertaining. We see two teenagers figuring out lust.

Eguchi is drawn naked in the shower, and obviously, there is emphasis on their various body parts.

I want to thank Viz and Netgalley for letting me have access to an advance reader's copy of this graphic novel.

First I would like to thank VIZ, edelweiss, and the author for providing me with a sample to read.

I'm going to be honest I actually enjoyed this much more than I thought I would. It starts off feeling like a sexual harassment training seminar but since they were both into it, it was actually a bit enjoyable. It's a good change of pace where the typical FMC doesn't have a public freakout, is more assertive, and actually leans into the bit and I don't find it repetitive at all. I think that if you liked reading the please go home akutsu manga, I think you will like this as well as they have a similar vibe but structured differently.

Overall, really funny, and kinda cute and doesn't feel overly fan service and I will be looking forward to the next release. It's not the worlds best or deepest read but it's a good change of pace.

Ikezawa and Eguchi are classmates and also are seated next next to each other. The manga opens with Eguchi overhearing Ikezawa commenting on her body to a classmate. Then he makes a remark to her in the classroom and she responds with a comment of her own. And the feud is on. One comment leads to another as each tries to one-up the other. But in the midst of their feud, they don't quite realize what their actions might signal regarding their actual feelings. And then the twist at the end puts a different perspective on how everything started. It will be interesting to see what the two gets up to in the next volume!

Thanks Netgalley and Viz Media for the chance to read this volume!

This manga was a waste of time. I’m assuming high school boy sexualizes a large breasted girl and then for the rest of the book she is constantly sexualizing him. Almost in that “I’m gonna treat you the way you treat me” so you can feel all the feelings I have. Except it’s so overdone and fake drama. Then there’s a short story at the end. That is apparently how things began, but it’s like the author uses it so he can finally draw the girl naked. I didn’t like anything about this. I find that even though it’s the female character sexualizing the male character you still have the male sexualized view that is just disgusting.

This steamy romantic comedy is for the older teens and above since it's all about the big-boobed Euguchi and and sculpted Ikezawa and their mutual adoration (both verbal and visual) of each other's bodies which includes plenty of romantic silliness from smelling each other's sweat and workout clothes to measuring each other for a maid/butler cafe as part of a school festival and instances that are on the racy side of oogling each other and feeling like while they're the center of each other's worlds and the banter is easy, it's not easy to actual confess feelings for one another.

Funny at times. Just a "what if girls constantly objectified men instead" vibe. More so about figuring out lust and things like that. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. I wish this portrayed maybe inexperienced adults learning about this as there is a panel at the end that shows eguchi in the shower and her nipples. Like come on

This was so ridiculous, but it made me laugh and I like that it's not just the girl being sexualized. Although, some of the scenes do make me roll my eyes.
