Recruited at eighteen by the CIA, Ryzen is one of the best snipers in the world. Now, he’s working with the Federal Protection Agency to aid them in their fight to track down the vile people who perpetuate crimes against children. Always hidden behind his dark sunglasses, Ry is a mystery to everyone and he prefers it that way.
Ry remembers Knox from when he had his psych evaluation, and that the profiler’s report was what resulted in his discharge from the CIA. He’s not impressed with the man, and even more disturbed by the way he makes Ry feel.
A profiler with the FBI, Knox Hunter is investigating a series of murders. The victims are all male, between twelve and fourteen, and all have the same MO. With the Mayor pushing for re-election, a report of a serial killer could jeopardize the campaign’s success, so Knox is sent in to work with the FPA to try and close the case, fast and by any means necessary. The only problem is, Knox is an office man, not a field man, and this new path could be the most dangerous one of his entire career.
Will Ry be able to keep Knox safe while they track down and put away this serial killer, or is he destined to be the biggest threat—to Knox’s heart?

Evie Riley believes too much time spent at the beach is barely enough. She enjoys spending time puttering in the garden, cooking yummy things for her family, and has a quirky personality, described by her partner as ranging from cute to deadly, depending on her blood-chocolate levels.
Evie crafts steamy gay male romance filled with all the edgy angst, or dark and gritty romantic suspense where her men must overcome difficult obstacles and may find love along the way while dishing out their own brand of justice.
Evie spends her nights writing bad boys in love, and her days wrangling the sweet boys she loves.
These characters made no sense. Knox is the best profiler in the country yet he didn't realize a critical fact linking all the murdered boys. Ryzen comes in and day one finds the link? Ryzen doesn't like sex or being touched, but will prep himself for anal without question?

Dislikes: -Poor research into Behavioral Science specialty. The FBI profiler would be taught at the bachelor’s level to ask intrusive questions that are considered socially rude to help clients. He would be taught not to accept communication where he cannot see someone’s eyes that he’s assessing, and would refuse to complete an assessment interview if the client insists on wearing sunglasses for no reason. Further, if someone is so neurodivergent that they cannot communicate effectively or refuses to do so, the profiler would first rule out cultural differences in body language presentation that might be causing problems and would also consult with a psychologist specializing in the client’s African culture, which would allow him insight into Ryzan’s violent childhood background. This is normal practice, especially with a client with a different cultural background because any psych assessor must find the correct way to help the client and cannot do that without properly understanding them. After cultural differences in body language are assessed and accounted for, if the person still cannot communicate properly, anyone with a Psychology degree would know to have the person tested for neurodivergence so they can get the help they need to communicate sufficiently to fulfill their assigned tasks.
Some psychologists do make horribly inaccurate assumptions because they do not consider the subculture of the client or the vastly different religious norms of clients that appear to be from the same culture as the assessor, but Ryzan’s international birth alone should have prevented erroneous assumptions based on assumed similarity.
Further, deaf children without social services to support their families living in isolated rural areas in America may believe their name is one letter of the ASL alphabet because their parents are not equipped to teach them otherwise. The translator has had to explain differently during government sponsored home visits. If an immigrant has only one name, that would be an instant clue that either their culture or subculture assigns only one name, or something was wrong with the support offered to the guardians of the person during their childhood. So, Ryzan would have no assigned last name if he are not supported sufficiently to enter a public education system in his own country or the United States. There is no chance that a Behavioral Science major would not be aware of the various reasons a child might have only one name and none of them are related to errant assumptions about the large ego of the immigrant.
Therefore, the majority of the enemies to lovers plot makes no sense because the author did not consult a professional therapist to verify basic facts about how psych assessments are completed.
- It’s a Huge Ethical violation when the FBI profiler dismisses the impact of kissing a former assessment client. There is zero chance that a Behavior Science major is unaware of the ethical implications of seducing a former client, even from a one time visit. Hypothetically, it’s an ethical violation and he could lose his license, unless they waited ~5 years, depending on the restrictions in his specific state. Kissing a former assessment client would be perceived as taking advantage of an imbalance of power, so it’s a huge problem whether or not the kiss is MF or MM. Again, the author did not research the topic by speaking to a psychologist or this issue would have been clarified.
-The romantic leads do not discuss STDs or using protection prior to intimacy, & they don’t discuss many boundaries beyond preferred roles. The script for intimacy in this book is better than many other romance scripts because the partners feel comfortable saying no to physical pain or emotional abuse during intimacy. Yea! However, the script is also pretty limited and doesn’t clearly offer a safe space for further communication before the partners just randomly introduce various things not everyone will enjoy. For instance, it’s not okay to assume someone wants to swap all body fluids repeatedly just because they agree to intimacy. It’s not a personal insult if a partner doesn’t enjoy every possible act possible during intimacy & both people need to be okay with hearing about what the other person really does & doesn’t like. It’s important to talk about any boundaries that either partner has before intimacy. For instance, what if one partner hates peppermint lip balm? What if the other person is allergic to citrus? What if someone only thinks intimacy is romantic if both partners have chocolate candy first? It’s okay to talk about that & say no to anything either person doesn’t like before proceeding to be intimate, or surprising your partner midway with something that might kill the mood because you didn’t talk about what’s they’re okay with first.
Since most of this review is negative, I’ll start with one positive thing: the dominant partner is the bottom which I always appreciate since it’s so rare in this genre.
This was really poorly written but it followed a formula I like and it kept me reading at least. The plot was okay, the detective work was almost non-existent. There was good drama, danger, and peril. There was a short hospital scene where the character was already being discharged so it doesn’t count for me. The end solution in my mind was silly but the team’s reaction was disturbing.
This starts out with so much telling it gets tedious. It’s not stuff we need to know right away, either. The writing is disjointed, too, like every sentence is short. The characters talk in monologues.
When one of the MCs checks on everyone from the previous books in order to keep the reader informed, he talks about one additional couple that don’t have their own book even though it sounds like it. Maybe they were supporting characters from one of the other books? I read them too long ago to remember.
Out of the blue, Ryzen was way too open with Knox and more so than he would normally be with any person let alone someone he hated. He continued to tolerate violations of his privacy and space without getting at all upset. Totally out of character.
Just because a man found another man attractive for the first time and enjoyed the sex, doesn’t mean he had to be indifferent to sex with women, even disliking parts of it. It had never occurred to him that he might be attracted to men. Ryzen also hadn’t liked sex much, even more so than Knox, and he still knew he was gay.
I just hate the sexism. There are no strong females here. There are no women other than two moms at all. I’ll say it, no scream it again: just because I love gay romance doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear about women at all! I’m not looking for a woman’s perspective or private life and especially not sex in my M/M, but come on, there can’t be any doctors or police officers or EMTs who are female?
I was provided a free copy of this book as an ARC from BookSirens. My reviews are always honest and I feel no obligation to give a better review.
This is one of the better books I have read from Book Sirens. I loved the detail in the story. The absolute best part of the book is there is actual meat to it. There were some minor plot holes, but none worse than a Mission Impossible movie, or any other block buster hit. And the story line is believable. (I did not find the story line in book 1 to be so. It would have been on a smaller scale.)
My biggest complaint is the story could have been a lot longer. The investigation could have gone on longer. And for supposedly one of the best profilers in the FBI, Knox missed some glaring things, but the point seemed to be for Knox to be helped by Ryzen, which he couldn't have been if he hadn't missed some obvious things.
I see a lot of complaints from reviewers about instant love. We don't get that here, but we do have two main characters who go from hating each other to liking each other in a little under 48 hours. That was unrealistically fast. That feeds back into the story needing to be longer. The story took place over days, so the rest of the story wouldn't have worked without the 180 happening really quickly. We don't see them fall in love. That happens between the last regular chapter and the epilogue. So, they at least didn't fall in love in something like 4 days.
There were some editing errors that were repeated throughout the book. For instance, "then" was used incorrectly several times. The errors were usually something like "I'd rather this then that." "Then" is time, not a comparison. There were several instances of incorrect personal pronouns. There were some small changes a professional editor should have suggested changing, such as two sentences in a row ending in the word "now." Or leaving out phrases like "he went and sat down" instead of just saying "he sat down." Just some polishing.
The steamy scenes aren't fabulous. Knox takes to being gay in a physical way really easily. I usually like newly gay stories because the enjoyment of the first gay encounter is usually hot. That fell a little short here. I have now read books 1 and 2 in this series and I found book 2 to have the hottest scenes. This steaminess of this one is very similar to the 1st. I also appreciated they weren't saying "I love you" as fast in this book as in the first book.
I enjoyed the twist, but would have enjoyed it more if it had been expanded. Again, the whole book needed to be longer.
I do recommend the book. I hope to see her grow as an author in the future. She could add a little extra complexity and more time for the characters to be together. With that and some polishing, her books could be excellent. She definitely has talent.
M/M romance: enemies-to-lovers; opposites attract; proximity attraction; gay-for-him Ryzen has held such resentment against Knox Hunter, the FBI Profiler who caused Ryzen to lose his job with the CIA. Now, on this new case, they expect Ryzen to protect Knox from a serial killer. Not going to happen…until it does. Ryzen, a 30yo gay man was brought up in a mission in Africa. As a boy, he learned to keep quiet to avoid being hurt. Whereas the very straight talkative 35yo Knox had loving parents who doted on their only child. He attended Harvard on a full scholarship. He has lived what Ryzen considers a charmed life, especially compared to his. Things change dramatically when Knox must go to Ryzen’s home for protection. Wait for the huge surprise at the end! One of my favorite lines when a revelation comes to Knox: “He wasn’t a killer. He was a **** warrior.” The crimes that are committed by the serial killer are horrific and perpetrated against very young boys so be aware if this could be a problem for you. Another caution: when you find out what happened to Ryzen in Africa. I loved that Knox is secure enough to not feel angst over what happens between Ryzen and himself. That fits with this character’s portrayal. Also enjoyed that Ms. Riley almost answered my last review where I remarked on so many gay guys being in one organization: Where were the straight agents? One character asks, “Is everyone in your agency gay?” The agent’s cheeky answer: “It’s a hiring requirement.” The character replies, “You got an application?” Things like that set this book series apart. I look forward to reading about Cooper next. If you like mystery, intrigue, M/M romance with some explicitness along with a great and surprising story, read this book. I volunteered to review an ARC of it through BookSirens.
Eve Riley has created an amazing world where a kick ass law enforcement agency has been granted immunity from prosecution and whose sole purpose is to track down and stop child predators. These are not your typical alpha males saving the damsel in distress, primarily because our heroes are all attracted to other men. This is book 3 in the Federal Protection Agency series and can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the others for the back stories.
Ryzen aka Ry has been a sniper since the age of 18 and is known in the group for being completely closed off. He is the best in the world at his job but he keeps himself separated from the group, unable to escape the horrors of his childhood. Knox is a straight profiler with the FBI and has been ordered to work with the Agency to find a serial killer targeting 12-14 year old boys. These two have a complicated history and working together we get to be there for the crazy, hot chemistry they are determined to ignore.
This is a slow burning story with a psychologist who has always been straight suddenly attracted to a gay man that is completely emotionally shut off. Ry finds himself fighting the temptation that he suddenly feels from being in constant, close quarters with Knox. These two men know that what they are feeling is powerful but are they willing and able to fight their demons while fighting to track down the serial killer. This is a high pressure story with more than a few twists and turns. This book focuses on the angst rather than on page spicy action but what we do get is crazy hot and well worth the wait.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
They had to be joking, Ryzen would rather put Knox Hunter in front of a bullet than protect him from one.
Ryzen was one of the best snipers in the country working for the CIA…… until he wasn't, a psych evaluation by profiler Knox Hunter had cost him his job.
Knowing his skills and trusting him, Ry had been offered a job with The Federal Protection Agency, the aim being the protection of children.
A growing number of teenage boys between the ages twelve to fourteen were being brutally murdered, the mayor wasn't happy, he was up for re election and this wasn't going to help his campaign, the case was taken from the CIA and handed over to the FPA and Knox was sent to profile for them.
A threat had been made to Knox's life by someone purporting to be the killer, Knox wasn't a trained fighter like the rest of the team, he had to be protected and Ry was thought, by everyone but himself, to be the best man for the job.
Ry was seething, Knox would have to live at his home, it was a match made in hell……….or was it ?
Knox quickly came to the conclusion that his psych assessment of Ry was wrong, Ry didn't like the feelings that he was getting when Knox was around him.
This story follows the team desperately looking for non existent clues before another child is murdered, of the growing partnership between Ry and Knox both professionally and personally.
I did find the story a little rushed, both the relationship between Ry and Knox and the surprise ending but this is fiction not fact. I really enjoyed the story, I loved looking at crime from the profilers point of view and I loved the coming together of two completely different characters.

When he was eighteen Ryzen was recruited into the CIA and is one of the best snipers in the world. He now works with the Federal Protection Agency to track down people who perpetrate crimes against children. Always hidden behind dark sunglasses he is a mystery to everyone. He remembers Knox when he had a psych evaluation and that the profiler report resulted in his discharge from the CIA so he is not impressed with the man and is disturbed by how he makes him feel. Knox Hunter is a profiler with the FBI and investigating a series of murders where the victims are all male aged between twelve and fourteen and have the same MO. The mayor is pushing for re-election and so the public has no idea that there is a serial killer out there. Knox is sent to the FPA to close the case quickly. Knox is an office man and this post could be dangerous for him as he is not experienced working in the field. Will Ry be able to keep Knox safe while they track down and put away this serial killer, or is he destined to be the biggest threat to Knox’s heart?
I loved the combination of the serial killer and solving that problem while at the same time, there was the mystery of Ry and Knox as they tried to solve the mystery of each other and why they were so drawn together. There were a lot of emotions in this story around both men and the serial killer and it was great to read something where you could feel why things happened in a certain way. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
Ryzen (Federal Protection Agency Book 3) is dark story about investigating multiple murders carried out in the lead up to a mayorial election. Someone is targeting twelve to fourteen year old males. This brings a CIA profiler into the ranks of the Federal Protection Agency as they are tasked with solving the crimes.
Knox is the profiler and finds he has to work with a victim of one of his profiles. When I say victim, I mean victim. Ryzen lost his job as a result and may just hate Knox for what happened to him but it resulted in him finding what was missing from his life. Knox, for his part, has to come to terms with the fact that his own view on the world may not be quite as perfect as he thought.
This is a dark tale with more danger than the protagonists envisioned. As enemies learn to work together they find out they are meant to be together on a number of fronts. Work and home being the main two. There are secrets to be revealed and lives to be reassessed. It is a journey to be savoured. There are times early on when some unessential character background information slows down the progress but once that is out of the way things move along at speed.
I really liked the way Knox has to reassess what he wants and what he knows. I also liked how a damaged person like Ryzen has come to terms with his past and how he has moved forward.

My Review I received a copy of this book from BookSirens. Book is already out. Trigger warnings: murder, violence, captivity, crimes against children, and more. When I first read Mason's book, Ryzen's book was the one I really, really wanted to read. Not because I didn't love the other characters, because I loved them and their stories. I just was truly intrigued by Ryzen because he was the silent, deadly guy who didn't seem to want to get close to anyone and I wanted to know why. So needless to say, when this book became available to review I applied and then hoped I would be accepted. I was happy I was. This book didn't disappoint me. I loved every second of it. I flew through it. I was actually shocked when it was over. I know it's short, but it seemed too short today. Ryzen is tough. He has to be to deal with what he does every day. Ryzen and Knox have history. It's Knox's fault that Ryzen was fired from the CIA. So neither of them are thrilled when they have to work together. There is forced proximity in here, as the two of them have to live together for the duration of the case. Due to this, they both find that their perceptions of each other are entirely incorrect. On top of that, they find that they are attracted to each other. I love, loved it. Cooper is the next one in the series and I can't wait! Brava, Eva Riley really good book! Until next time peace and happy reading.
When you cannot be more opposite than someone, when you could not hate them more, the obvious thing to do is fall in love with them - right? Ryzen and Knox's enemies-to-lovers story stands out because there is such a deep and well developed history for each of them and the reasons for their animosity are believable and relatable. There is a breadth and depth to the story that is not common to recent books in this genre, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The desire to help and protect those than are unable to protect themselves is such a strong overlaying theme. It is what motivates Ryzen despite his deep seated loathing for Knox. He knows that Knox has no chance up against those that are after him. The devotion to duty is admirable as well as understandable. The other thing that I enjoyed is that the characters are human, and thus make mistakes. The growth of each of them as they own up to their mistakes and forgive those that caused them hurt and grief kept me engaged and able to identify with the characters, even though I have never experienced what they have gone through in their lives.
I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to the Federal Protection Agency Series. This book covers a lot of heavy topics so please take note of the trigger warnings. I loved finally being able to learn more about Ryzen and why he’s so self contained. My heart broke for everything he went through as a child, he’s so bloody strong. Ryzen used to part of the CIA until FBI profiler Knox Hunter’s report was the reason he was discharged. He doesn’t like the man and hates it even more when he’s tasked with keeping Knox safe while on the hunt for a serial killer.
I don’t blame Knox for what he thought about Ryzen since he was just doing his job but he also kind of judged Ry because he’s so self contained. Knox honestly thought that Ry would just get another position within the CIA but I loved that he finally got to see the real Ry while working closely together during their serial killer case. Even though these two are complete opposites I thought they make a good team. I’m looking forward to reading Cooper next, as well as more books from Evie Riley in the future. I’d recommend this book, series and author to others.
This is the 3rd book in the Federal Protection Agency series and it was a very good read! I’ve enjoyed reading the first 2 books very much. I look forward to reading more in the series! That series would certainly make for a great M/M TV movie or Movie series!
The story focuses on Ryzen, a very good sniper in the FPA. He was asked to be a part of an unsolved case where young boys would be kidnapped and murdered by the same person without any ransom notes. The FBI profiler, Knox was assigned to the case so he was to work with the FPA. When Ryzen showed up for the first meeting, he was somewhat unnerved seeing Knox. So was Knox. The reason behind that was Knox was the one who got Ryzen fired from the FBI because of his evaluation on Ryzen. To throw salt on the wound, the FPA honcho assigned Ryzen to keep Knox safe due to the fact he lived alone while the others had families and didn’t want to put them at risk. Ryzen didn’t particularly like the idea but went along with it. Being roommates gave them a chance to get to know each other. That’s where I’m going to stop and have you pick up the book to read to find out what happens! Definitely 5 stars from me!
At first I was very upset with Knox because he was being arrogant and pretentious. But I forgave him because he acknowledged his mistake and apologized to Ry. Of the three, this is my favorite.
It was perfect. I loved their story and relationship and how everything happened between them, they are just perfect.
Things to improve: the only thing I can think of that can be improved in this and the other stories is the ending... Each book ends when the case is solved, however, the relationship of the characters is only at an initial point. The characters are still getting to know each other, working on the relationship and making things work for them... I felt incomplete... Things that are just perfect: Something I loved about each character and their respective relationships is the fact that they talk things out without wasting time trying to guess the other person's feelings. They take action to know what the other person feels and in the process they let the other person know what they feel

I haven’t read the other stories prior to this one, but I didn’t struggle to understand. Ryzen was a sniper for the CIA since he was 18. Knox is a highly regarded criminal profiler.
Ryzen loses his job with the CIA after they have Knox do an assessment on him. Now Ryzen works for the Federal Protection Agency (which focuses on crimes against children). Knox and Ryzen are reunited when Knox reaches out to the FPA for help to catch a serial killer.
Ryzen is ordered to protect Knox, which he’s not a fan of at all. During his stay with Ryzen, Knox realizes his assessment on Ryzen was all wrong. Not only that, Knox (who identifies as straight) is falling for Ryzen.
The story was fast paced, full of action, and a nice twist at the end.
My only issue is that there could have been more angst between Knox and Ryzen. I felt like the falling for one another was slowish, but could have been more intense with a hard fought HEA considering their past history.

This book had a good plot, looking for a serial killer of young boys. Knox, an FBI profiler, has been working on the case with few leads, when another agency, the Federal Protection Agency (FPA), comes in to assist. One of their agents, Ryzen, has history with Knox that creates conflicts when Ryzen is assigned to protect Knox. As the two men get to know each other, preconceived opinions are shattered, and they join forces to find the killer. The 2MC are well-developed and Ry’s background is especially interesting. I speculated on the killer’s motive as I read, but came nowhere near guessing what led to his crimes. I had as hard time putting the book down. The only minor problem I had with the book was the number of characters in the FPA at the beginning and I made a list to attempt to keep the characters straight. Turns out, that wasn’t necessary as the number actually involved was smaller. This I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This author has other books in the series with other FPA MCs, and I will be reading those next.
This is a great book to read! This is the third book in the series. This is the story about Ryzen and Know. Ryen grew up in missions across the country and when he turned eighteen he joined the CIA. After several years with the CIA he had to have an evaluation done by an outside sorce. Ryzen now works for the Federal Protection Agency, focusing on crimes against children. FBI Special Agent Know Hunter is a profiler and is working a case that he needs help with. After bringing everyone at the FPA up to date on what was going on Ryzen and Knox were paired up to work together, neigher one of them were happy with that. Knox needs protection and Ryzen is the best one for the job. Will being together be just what they need to change each others opinion???? Will the survive the the job and part on good terms????.

This was one of my favourite books in the series so far! From the very beginning, I was completely hooked into the mystery of working out who the killer might be. Unlike some other books, I was never once distracted from this and, before I knew it, I was 40% in! I loved how mysterious Ryzen was and I enjoyed slowly discovering more about him. It was interesting to know his past experiences with Knox and see how they handled this too. I really like how the team dynamic is developing and that the team is gradually expanding further - I am definitely hoping for a few more books in this series to give some more of the characters their HEA.
Ryzen and Knox had great chemistry, the book was well paced, interesting and gave me the HEA I wanted for the pair. I liked the twist towards the end and, after reading the snippet of book 4, I can't wait to read it asap! Overall, a great read that I would definitely recommend to others.
The heritage continues in the third book in the Federal Protection Agency series. If you enjoyed the first two books in the series, the third will not disappoint! The story is extremely engaging and I devoured the pages in short order. Ry and Knox have a history that is exposed. Forced to work together, they slowly learn about each other, the challenges each face and the history that shaped each man. As the intensity of the story slowly ramps up so does the heat between Ry and Knox. There were some unexpected twists that added to the depth and enjoyment of the story. My only complaint is it ended much too soon. I look forward to reading additional installments in this series! I was provided a copy of this book by the author, and am leaving this review that reflects my opinion of the book voluntarily.
Secrets don't stay buried long. Ryzen/Ry, was a CIA sniper before Knox's profiler's report got him relieved from duty from the CIA. Ry, then went to work for the Federal Protection Agency, maintaining a mysterious personna. The FPA, specializes in crimes against children. Knox is assigned to work with the FPA on a high profile case that has political influences. Know is assigned to the field, where he is normally a desk jockey and Ry is assigned to keep him safe. Ry and Knox are both passionate about their calling, but still are like oil and water. Can Ry keep Knox safe? Will they find the murderer? Will they find the balance so they can work together? Gruelling, gripping tense story. Surprises on top of surprises. Excellent flow. You find yourself pulling for Ry and Knox and their calling. Well done! Hot cover art! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I like this series, and Ryzen was the book I was really wanting to read cause he's a facinating character. At 67% I'm irritated.....In a city and surrounding area of 200,000 you're going to have a huge unsub pool of a man 6 ft 8 in and 300 lbs who might be or have been police or paramedic? They must grow'em big there. First time the other mc is shown Ryzen has suffered physically he forgets he profiled him as a danger to himself and society and got him fired from the CIA? Oh yeah, and he forgets he's straight at 35 and goes to kiss Ryzen in that scene...REALLY??? Where's all the grown up tension and discovery, and learning of acceptance I so thought was coming? Ok, I'm done gripping about a great opportunity missed for a great book. I'm going back to finish this good book. I do recommend the series.
Ryzen intrigued me in the previous books - a dark, mysterious character- and I was so looking forward to his story and it did not disappoint!
We get the in depth look into Ryzen’s life as a child, and as a sniper with deep felt emotional scars…
Five years ago his career as a CIA sniper was ended abruptly by a FBI profiler who he hates with a passion- Special Agent Knox Hunter who needs the help of the PFA with a serial killer….
They start off as enemies in close proximity and end up as close friends who comfort with a strong sexual attraction but Knox is straight until one sleepless night…
Their journey to happiness is wrought with twists and turns so climb aboard this roller coaster and enjoy the ride!

Have read books 1 and 2 and absolutely adored them for no particular reason at all or maybe it's because of my "obsession" with Criminal Minds... The 3 book was no different. Ryzen was a bit of a mystery in the previous books so I was hoping there would be a book and when I saw it I knew I had to read it.
In this book I found Ryzen so adorable. Since I'm trying to keep pretty much all my reviews spoiler free I won't really go in much deeper. I am happy that he and Knox cleared everything up and got a happy ending in the end.
Cannot wait for book 4, I don't doubt that I will love this one as well. After reading the preview of Cooper- I can't wait.
Enjoyable, fast-paced, and action-packed. This was my first read in this series and by this author, and I found it riveting, with great characters and a few twists (especially one big one that took me by surprise). I loved that Ryzen and Knox, two men with a bit of negative history (a report by Knox cost Ry his previous job at the CIA), were able to put that aside and work together to solve a series of child murders. I loved the slow build to the hot chemistry between them. Great murder thriller coupled with an opposites-attract (field sniper and office jockey) romance. Now I want to go back and read the first two books.

This third book in the gripping 'Federal Protection Agency' series had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Knox and Ryzen are the leading men, and I was glad zo get more background zo Ryen his character. This MM enemies to lovers, forced proximity tale hit the right notes for me. The crime solving part with its twists and turns and development of the romance both worked really well for me. Ryzen and Knox gind their hfn/ hea. The romance part was mostly not so spicy which for me fit well with the storyline. As usual Eve sets me up yo want more with the preview of the upcoming book 'Cooper'.

This was a fantastic story. Well written, fast paced with danger, suspense, intrigue and a serial killer to catch as well as romance and love. Ryzen and Knox had a complicated history, Knox was an FBI profiler who’s assessment lost Ryzen his job with the CIA. Knox was trying to catch a serial killer praying on young boys and went to the Federal Protection Agency for help where Ryzen now works. They were forced into working and living together and as they got to know each other they realised they had feelings they couldn’t ignore. Their chemistry was amazing and their love was beautiful to watch unfold. Fabulous story with a wonderful HEA.

There are times that to know what is good we also need to know what is bad and then there is downright evil. Eve Riley shows us that although we can have rules to keep loved ones safe, there are times it is still not enough. Knox, a highly rated profiler, is sent to assist the FPA in finding a serial murderer and Ryzen is none too pleased as he had been dismissed from the CIA after Knox filed a report finding Ryzen a risk to the agency. The style of her writing feels like somebody is sitting in the room with me and filling me in on the life outside of my walls. News to make me angry, scared, yet thrilled that we have agencies that are equipped to find the perpetrators. I received a copy of this book from BookSirens and this is my honest opinion.
Ryzen and Knox have a very unusual beginning. It’s their middle and ending, however, that sets this book apart. Reading through I found myself immersed in the story. I had no leads and I was getting antsy. This is a very emotionally charged book. The subject matter is difficult but, once again, this author did a great job. Not especially graphic, which was a plus, but still you were able to get a feel for the pain, damage and loss. A surprising ending as I didn’t see the “twist” coming. A very good reading.
