Louise L. Hay

At fifteen she dropped out of high school without a diploma, became pregnant, and on her sixteenth birthday gave up her newborn baby girl for adoption.
She moved to Chicago, where she worked in menial jobs, before moving in 1950 to New York. At this point she changed her name and began a career as a fashion model. She was successful at this, working for Bill Blass, Oleg Cassini, and Pauline Trigere.
In 1954, she married Andrew Hay, but after fourteen years of marriage Louise was devastated when Andrew left her for another woman.
Hay said that she found the First Church of Religious Science on 48th Street, which taught the transformative power of thought. Hay revealed that here she studied the metaphysical works of authors like Florence Scovel Shinn and the Religious Science founder Ernest Holmes.
In the early 1970's Hay became a Religious Science practitioner. In this role she led people in spoken affirmations meant to cure their illnesses. She also became popular as a workshop leader.
She studied transcendental meditation with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi at his university in Fairfield, Iowa.
In 1977 or 1978 she found she had cervical cancer, and she concluded that its cause was her unwillingness to let go of resentment over her childhood abuse and rape. She refused medical treatment, and began a regimen of forgiveness, therapy, reflexology, nutrition, and occasional enemas, and claims she rid herself of the cancer. She declared that there is no doctor left who can confirm this story, but swore that it is true.
In 1976 Hay wrote a small pamphlet, which came to be called "Heal Your Body." This pamphlet was enlarged and extended into her book You Can Heal Your Life, which was published in 1984. As of February 2008, it is still on the New York Times best sellers list.
Around the same time she began leading support groups for people living with H.I.V. or AIDS that she called Hay Rides. These grew from a few people in her living room to hundreds in a large hall in West Hollywood. Her work with AIDS patients drew fame and she was invited to appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and "Donahue" in the same week in March, 1988.
You Can Heal Your Life immediately landed on the New York Times Best Sellers List. More than 35 million copies are now in print around the world in more than 30 languages and has been made into a movie.
Louise Hay established Hay House Publishing. It is the primary publisher of books and audio books by Deepak Chopra and Doreen Virtue, as well as many books by Wayne Dyer.
In addition to running her publishing company, Hay runs a charitable organization called Hay Foundation that was established in 1985.

بغض النظر عن الجدل الواسع حول هذا النوع من الكتب وبغض النظر انني ايجابية بالفطرة ولكن لا شك بأننا عندما نحيط انفسنا بالافكار والكلمات الإيجابية فهذا سينعكس بطريقة عظيمة على حياتنا .فكرة الكتاب عن 365 جملة تأكيديّة بهدف ان يقرأ الانسان ويردد كل يوم جملة منها على مدار اليوم حتى تدخل في عقله اللاواعي وبعد انتهاء العام بكل تأكيد سيلحظ الانسان بعض التغيرات للأفضل .

~MORNING REFERENCE~
Almost every morning I open this tiny book to learn, what I am grateful for today. Sometimes, I take it with me and flip through when I am walking the dog. It is a perfect "mood-up-turner" and is in fact my emergency reference book for when I am feeling down and weak.

موش عاوزة اتناقش مع الناس اللي موش مع النوع دا من الكتب او النوع دا من التأمل .. او التنمية البشرية عموما .. لأن علم النفس أثبت وأكد أهمية الخطاب والتأمل اللي من النوع دا .. بغض النظر عن ان نصهم موش مؤمنين بعلم النفس بردو اصلا وبأهميته وجدواه فما علينا وعلى الله حكايتهم لان النقاش معاهم غير ذي جدوى 😂

for some reason, affirmations work for me :,)
they stick in my head and pop up whenever i need them.
they make me feel good about myself, others and the world.
i devoured this whole book in a cold, quiet milktea shop in Eastwood and was able to remove some pages here that resonated most to me- they are now all over the condo, my bathroom mirror, dresser and my notebooks 📓 i was also able to share some with my friends 💞
again, do not underestimate the power of a simple book- everything is personal and hits us all in individual ways✨

This is a great book. I have it by my computer right now !!This book has 365 positive affirmations. I keep it in my purse to keep my mind health and positive and just reading good words brings me joy!

كتاب خفيف لطيف يحتوي على عبارات ايجابية تساعدك على تقدير نفسك وحياتك وكل ما حولك.. شعور جميل بالأمان والامتنان والهدوء والسلام الداخلي شعرت به بعد انتهائي من قراءة هذا الكتاب

Very similar to contents of 101 Power Thoughts
I am a positive person so everything on this cd was not new to me. It was a wonderful reinforcement. I have it on my Windows phone and I listen to all Louise Hay book when I am in the car, making dinner, relaxing on the couch, resting, etc...
My parents were so positive and their love for all their kids were unconditional and we always knew that they loved us. I knew that they loved me and all their lessons for us was shared/taught to us in love and we always knew that we were amazingly loving people and that they were helping us to be our best selves and that we were awesome as we were. I always welcomed their sharing because I always wanted to be the most loving being that I can be. Mrs. Hay's books, cds are just that, they are helpful ideas how to help us to be more loving, to accept ourselves as we are... They are not aimed at fixing us, but for us to take whatever we can from her suggestions and to help us with whatever we need or do whatever we want to do with it.
The people who are motivated to reach their highest call will always embrace whatever they need to reach enlightenment without whining, objections, being defensive, etc...
I appreciated all Mrs. Hay's books, as well as other books, advice, etc... that can help me be a more loving, compassionate, kind, etc... being.
Love and peace to all.
* still listen to all of them whenever I have a chance. Of course I listen, read all kinds of books on pretty much every subject.

I discovered Louise Hay Dec. 2016 and have listened to almost all her books each at least 15 times. I find Louise Hay's voice to be comforting and the words comforting and positive.
Give it a try. Take what you can to help you, to be more positive, let go of things that do not help you grow as a person. Of course, I am deeply grounded in the bible and that's is always my primary source. I like all her books because it's another way to hear the same message, especially for those who don't want hard core bible verses.

Ik was nieuwsgierig naar het boek 'Machtige Gedachten', omdat ik vorig jaar van dezelfde schrijfster het boek 'Je kunt je leven helen' heb gelezen en daar heb ik nuttige tips uitgehaald. Vooral de tip om meerdere keren op een dag te bedenken dat ik mezelf goedkeur, heeft mij geholpen. Voor de verdere ontwikkeling van mijn zelfliefde wilde ik wat meer afwisseling in de helpende gedachten hebben, maar het ontbrak mij aan inspiratie. Louise Hay heeft in dit boek een paar mooie voorbeelden voor affirmaties opgeschreven. De affirmaties passen bij de gedachtegang van haar eerdere boek 'Je kunt je leven helen'. De manier waarop zij tegen het leven aankijkt, is verwoord in zinnen vol zelfliefde. Op elke pagina staat één affirmatie. Op dit moment ga ik mee met het idee van het boek om elke dag 1 affirmatie te kiezen en deze aandacht te geven. Ik doe dat door die zin meerdere keren op een dag te herinneren of in mijn hoofd te herhalen. Sommige zinnen pas ik een beetje aan of sla ik over en sommige lijken erg op elkaar, maar toch laten ook die zinnen mij weer anders denken. Ik vind 'Machtige Gedachten' een mooie inspiratiebron voor nieuwe helpende gedachten. Ik merk dat ik me vrolijker voel en dat ik minder gespannen ben.

٣٦٥ جملة توكيد في الايجابية ، تعمدت صاحبة الكتاب هذا العدد من الجمل على عدد أيام السنة إعتقاداً منها بأن قراءة جملة يومياً يعد بمثابة جرعة إيجابية تتجرعها كل يوم كحبة الدواء ، في كل صفحة مزينة بمجموعه من اللوحات الفنية جاعلاً منه متميزاً عن سائر كتب التنمية .
قد لا يحدث لك تغيير جذري بمجرد أن تفرغ من قراءة الكتاب سواء عزمت على قراءة صفحة يومياً أو انهائها في جلسة قرائية واحده ، فهو ليس من الصنف الذي يدربك حول ترك بعض من عاداتك السلبية أو تبيني طرق إيجابية وإنما أشبه بالالتفاف لبعض الأمور التى قد أهملتها عن قصد أو غير قصد كأن تحب جسدك وتمده بكل ماينفعه ، وأن ترقي نفسك نحو الأفضل بالتغيير منذ هذه اللحظة بدلاً من التأجيل ، أو أنك تكف عن التلفظ بالألفاظ النابيه وإستبدالها بعبارات مهذبة وجمعيها تلك الجمل تندرج نحو حب الذات والقناعه بما تملك والتطلع نحو التطوير من دون الطمع بما لدى غيرك .
لكي يحدث الكتاب أثر كبير في نفسك ، في كل جمله تقرأها خاطب نفسك حولها بمعنى إذا كان عن السلام الداخلي أسأل نفسك هل تشعر بهذا السلام الداخلي ؟ وفي حال عجزت عن الإجابة فأعلم أنك بحاجة إليها .
لو صمم الكتاب على طريقة الرزنامه لكان أفضل وأعتقد سيحدث فرقاً وتأثيراً في نفس القارئ خاصة لو وضعها في طاولة مكتب عمله ستكون في مرأى عينيه وفي كل يوم يهدي لنفسه رسالة إيجابية جديدة .
أفضل دائماً اتباع سياسة معينة في القراءة ، فعندما أنهي من كتاب دسم لابد أن يكون الكتاب التالي خفيف من حيث الكم والكيف ، ويعتبر الكتاب من هذا النوع .

A great way to start a day
Louise Hay may have transitioned from this incarnation into another one, but she left behind a legacy. We all continue to benefit from this book written by her and the information contained within. It is a great way to start each and every day. You could read this book for years by reading one passage everyday and you would get great benefits from it. This is the perfect way combined with meditation to start a day.

A perfect daily boost of affirmations that you need, to get started on with your day. These one page, one sentence affirmations are strong as well as soothing and the illustrations are just as icing on the cake. I really liked it reading it. But make sure that you are consuming this book slowly like very slowly, just like each or a couple pills at a day.😊

الحق يُقال؛ لم أستسغ هذا الكتاب نهائياً، مع أنه يبث –ظاهرياً– الإيجابية، ومع أني أعتبر نفسي شخص إيجابي للغاية، لكني أحسست بأنه –أي الكتاب– مبتذل جداً.
ومن ناحية أخرى، الترجمة ركيكة وفي بعض المواضع، كانت حرفية وأفقدت العبارات روحها.
