Rok później dziewczyna kończy szkołę i przyjeżdża do Nowego Jorku.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House Children’s / Delacorte Press for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.
She was 18, but she acted 15. She went to NY from Paris nonstop talking about how much she didn't like Paris and resented her french mom for living there, and yet also about how much Parisian traditions were so far superior to all American traditions, which was constantly announcing.
WHAT SHE WANTED TO ACHIEVE WITHIN ONE WEEK OF MOVING TO NY: .Finding a great job at a restaurant (despite being 18 and having only a few weeks of professional culinary training) .Finding her dream boy (the one who she spent one night with in Paris a year ago, while she was in high school, and he was on a big backpacking trip, despite no phone number or way to contact each other having been exchanged) .Getting a great apartment
WHAT SHE DID ACHIEVE WITHIN ONE WEEK .Getting a dish washing job at her dream restaurant, and being told she could move up in positions if she worked hard. .Meeting an adorable, great guy who shared her passion for cooking and wanted to show her all around NY and was even willing to help her look for this other guy if it meant she would be happy. .A room in her dads apartment free of rent and bills and responsibilities.
SO NATURALLY, she was devastated...🙄 However, with a lot of stalking, bothering people, complaining, and generally being a brat, here's what she
MANAGED TO ACHIEVE WITHIN A FEW WEEKS OF MOVING TO NY: .Moving up ridiculously high in ranks at the restaurant and winning the love of everyone in the restaurant despite no personality .Finding said dream boy, and he was still single, and he was just as in love with her as ever. .Being told that she could live in her dads apartment while they were living in Florda, as long as she wanted.
SO NATURALLY, she had to screw everything up because she decided she wanted better.
WHAT SHE ACHIEVED IN A FEW HOURS .Breaking one guys heart because he said he liked her (for God knows what reason) and she still had her dream boy, so who cares .Dumping her dream boy because she found out *gasp* he had dated other women in the last year and *double gasp* only backpacked for one month which apparently isn't a realistic backpacking trip! He, therefore, betrayed her! (Despite being totally in love with her now, completely single, and not thinking she was insane for putting up missing posters for him) .Getting fired from her fabulous job by throwing a fit at work .Getting rehired by her boss because he "didn't want to make a mistake." .Said NO to the job .Moved back to Paris .Have the guy she treated like crap follow her to Paris to live out all his dreams, too.
But the food sounded yummy, her mom was cool (but she hated her mom for no reason), and I liked her actual love interest.
I have got to stop reading these YA romance books.

4⭐️ Oh my gosh this book was so cute! I loved all the New York references. Also this book made me so hungry with all the talk about food and cooking. I literally can’t explain how happy this book made me, but there were a few things I was mad at. Overall, this was a fun, cute, and fast paced YA book that I would definitely recommend! I was so happy and giggling at the end of this book!
Thank you NetGalley, the author, and the publishers for this eARC for my honest opinion.
French Kissing in New York by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau combines several of my favourite things to read about: cooking, a bustling city, and plans gone awry. With a main character who dreams of becoming a chef–and finding a boy she met a year ago in Paris–and vivid descriptions of New York’s flavours, this one has all the makings of an engaging plot. This is the perfect read for foodies, and for those who enjoy books with immersive settings.
After spending one magical night in Paris together, Margot and Zach promise to meet each other a year later in Times Square. On the day they’re supposed to reconnect, however, Margot lands an opportunity to work in a restaurant and finds herself running late, and Zach doesn’t seem to show at all. In hopes of rekindling her relationship with Zach, Margot teams up with a line cook at the restaurant to try and search for him him around New York City, but as she finds herself getting closer with Ben as their search progresses, she finds herself questioning if Zach really is her soulmate after all.
❀ INTERESTING MAIN CHARACTER
Margot is an interesting main character, and I admired her dedication to her dream. After returning from school in France, she is excited to begin her career as a chef like her mother, but she must first work her way up from washing dishes. I enjoyed the way Margot is a dreamer, but at times I struggled with her unrealistic expectations, especially with her obsession with finding Zach. Her character does change as the book progresses, but I had difficulties connecting with her because of this.
❀ NEW YORK COMES TO LIFE
What I especially enjoyed about this one is the way New York comes to life. Throughout the book, Margot explores many neighbourhoods in Manhattan and some of their most iconic sights, and I loved accompanying her on her adventures in the city. The descriptions of food are particularly vivid, which makes this one a true love letter to Manhattan’s restaurant scene.
❀ AN UPBEAT STORY
French Kissing in New York by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau is an upbeat story about the unexpected ways that plans can change. I admired the main character’s commitment to her dream, and the descriptions of food throughout the book are mouthwatering. This is a great read for those looking for something atmospheric, capturing the spirit of New York’s food scene.!
Very cute! The MC was kind of annoying tbh and extremely stupid but you know, food was involved. The love triangle was rushed and it felt like there were loose ends left open.
Still enjoyable overall though and a great way to get in the mood for Valentine's Day!
Another super cute romance from Jouhanneau! This time we explore New York City, a place where so much is going on at all times and cultures come together. I enjoyed following Margot on her journey to become a chef and find her place in a restaurant, while also exploring love in the city.
This is well paced and has an entertaining plot. I especially enjoyed hearing about so many delicious meals and it makes me want to take a trip to NYC just for the food! Margot is pretty likeable, she can see when she makes a mistake at the restaurant and she tries so hard to succeed. I was a bit frustrated that she didn't see the great guy in front of her was just waiting for her to reciprocate his feelings, but they had plenty of sweet moments and I'm happy with how everything worked out.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. Thank you to Delacorte Press and NetGalley for the copy
It wasn't too bad, but I expected better. It was a truly heartwarming story and it proves that fate always leads you in unexpected destintations which you may/may not be expecting. However, the main characters is one of the most annoying I have laid my eyes on. Like, seriously girl? Was that bragging needed? No. Not at all. I couldn't stand her and I felt so bad for Ben who blindly followed her. Ignoring this fact, it's quite a good read for summer (regardless of the fact that the action takes place in autumn). Good if you want a quick read, not so good if you're looking for characters to enjoy.
P.S. make sure you never read it on an empty stomach.
I found Margot pretty annoying, to be honest, but I liked the descriptions of food and the scenes in the restaurant she was working at in NYC. Sometimes, I have to stop and think, "Are you annoying because you're a teenager?" or "Are you genuinely annoying?" This is a case of the latter.

Pocałunki w Nowym Jorku *ೃ༄·˚ ༘ ocena 2,75 /✭✭✭✭✭ Kategoria wiekowa 🗽 12+ ✨️Autorka : Anna-Sophie Jouhanneau
Do comer, ok.
This book! I was a huge fan of Kisses and Croissants, Anne-Sophie’s YA debut, so it’s no surprise I was thrilled to receive an ARC of her sophomore YA, French Kissing in New York, from NetGalley. This is a story about Margo, a French girl who actualizes her dreams by moving to New York and pursuing a career in the culinary arts. She moves in with her father and cousin and becomes a line cook at a restaurant where the boss is tough and the stakes are high. When Margo isn’t at work, she’s busy eliciting the help of her cute coworker Ben as she attempts to find a boy whom she had one romantic night with in Paris. Of course, unbeknownst to Margo, Ben is in love with her. There’s a lot to love about this book, but I will list my top three: the setting, the romance, and the message. The setting of New York was gorgeous. I loved seeing it through the eyes of someone who’s dreamed of living there her entire life. She finds the beauty in everything, and it’s quite refreshing, as I feel like New York is often hated on in media. Secondly, I love the romance. It was fun getting to see who Margo was going to end up with, and for a while, I really wasn’t sure if I should vote for her and Ben, or her and the guy she met in Paris. Finally, I truly enjoyed the message of this book. Guess you’ll have to read it to find out what it is!
4.25 rounded up (don’t come @ me i know how maths works - despite my constant dumbassary in class - but it feels like it deserves 5 stars but a lower 5 but not a 4 if that makes sense??)
oh i love a slow burn but this? this is too much
i absolutely feel this book needs an epilogue to tie things up, like you can’t just leave us off with a kiss and ✨hope✨ but maybe that’s YA for you
(in saying that kisses and croissants basically did that so why am i surprised?)
i love margot tenacity and her positive outlook at everything, this really felt like a good coming of age story, no matter how unrealistic it may be. i love how she has goals and isn’t afraid to go for what she wants (definitely admiring her there as your resident people pleaser)
i love a story with an cool premise and a plot that actually follows through and this definitely met all the marks! and a love a bit of whimsy too!
i think some people probably don’t like margot’s personality, which i can get why, but for me, braggy > whiny (unless it’s done well), and there’s nothing implicitly wrong about feeling pride for your hometown at the same time as insulting it (like i love mine with all my heart but i will also be the first to call it a boring middle of nowhere place to live)
also i LOVE the audiobook how the narrator has an accent it makes me feel so much more immersed in the story??

“French Kissing in New York” is an homage to a romanticized NYC adventure. It follows 18 year-old Margot who’s finally ready to take the first step to the rest of her life by first, getting her dream job as a chef, and second, finding the love of her life that she met one romantic night a year earlier. While Margot’s energy and vivacity was charming in the beginning, it definitely gets more difficult finding empathy for a character thats so entitled. She doesn’t really develop as a character and everything magically works out for her without any real genuine reflections on her end. The descriptions of the food around NY was the bright spot through all of this.
It was definitely cute, but Margot was annoying sometimes. Also I was bored a lot. It sucks because I lovedddd kisses and croissants :( This book was just not for me <33
