Possession #2

La Posesión de Omega

Rate this book

Estaban equivocados.

Jessica Hall is an Australian author who has carved her name into the dark paranormal romance genre with stories that make you question everything you thought you knew about love, power, and redemption. From the brutal world of the Lycan Luna Series to the twisted realms of the Fated Series, her stories don't just entertain. They’ll consume you.
Jessica's worlds are where the broken find their power, the hunted become hunters, and love is the most dangerous magic of all.
When she's not torturing her characters (and readers) with impossible choices, she's raising five kids and planning the next cliffhanger that will have you throwing your Kindle across the room.

omegas possession

This is another book I’m struggling with the rating on. In one hand, I genuinely do like the story line, characters ect. On the other hand, I feel like some of the story is repetitive (to the point I have to double check I didn’t accidentally reread a line I already did) and there are a few grammar/spelling errors that needs to be fixed. I wish I could give this more stars but with the issues I’ve found I can’t justify a 4 or 5 ⭐️ rating.

This book, unlike the first, had the perfect ending. I loved getting to time jump with the characters and see the development that occurred after the HEA, so to speak. I love hearing about the centers, the law changes, and the new developments within both Zara and Harlow's families, or packs. I loved going on this extremely tumultuous journey with Harlow, Rhen, Thane, Leon, and Raidon. (Plus, Jake and Zara and their mates, Elaine and Charles, and Leo and Emily) This is a phenomenal story.

The only downsides that I encountered, which may just be me, are that the first book's ending was a cliffhanger that was more like the ending to a chapter instead of the ending to a book. Also, the writing errors that popped up throughout, like extra words that shouldn't have been there or words that were needed that were missing, were a bit distracting. They would pull me out of the reading mindset, and it would take a little bit to get back into it. Those two things are the only reason this book and the previous one got 4 *s instead of 5.

Some of my thoughts while reading:

Elaine seems to have no boundaries or understanding of what she did wrong. She clearly and loudly stated her opinion of what Harlow's fate should have been, even going so far as to try to champion Sara, yet she is trying to act like Harlow and the rest should just move on. The woman needs someone to take the shoe to her.

I just started Chapter 4, and I think I already know who Harlow and Zara's parents are.

I knew it, I knew it. Harlow and Zara's parents are who I thought they were.

Corbin must not be as powerful an alpha as Thane if he runs scared of him.

A happy dance is going on right now. Those boys are hardcore.

If Bree thinks there is a hole deep enough, dark enough, and far enough away from the guys to be safe, she's delusional. The guys are going to rip her apart with their bare hands when they find her. I wish she hadn't done it. I hope she changes her mind or someone finds Harlow before they get to where they're going, but I know that's a fool's wish.

I hope Talon throws Bree's butt to the curb after what she's done. I don't see him forgiving her for this. If he does, he's a bigger idiot than Bree is.

I'm so scared for Harlow. What if they hurt her beyond repair or even kill her? Please, let at least one of the groups find her location.

That conversation between Harlow and Corbin, her taunting him as he tried to force her to mark him, was amazing. It made me laugh and cheer at the same time.

Leo is a decent guy. He may have his faults, but he did what was necessary to accomplish what was right. That's good for him. Knowing what's ahead for him, though, I do feel a bit awful for him.

I'm not sure letting Leo off the hook was the right choice. He committed a crime, and he should face the consequences for that. Sure, he helped them in the Harlow/Corbin situation and lost his mate bond to do it, but he didn't love them anyway. He only joined them because Corbin blackmailed him into it, and he agreed only to save his daughter. It may have hurt him and almost cost him his life, but now he has an even better situation. I like him a bit, but I still think there should be consequences for his actions.

The demonstrations for the council were phenomenal. I laughed so hard and cheered. The rubber boyfriend on the bald head was hysterical.

I can't wait to see what happens now that the council has decided.

It's fantastic when the domino effect works in a wonderfully positive way.

That last aura practicing session between Thane and Harlow was excellent. It thrills me that the guys did that for her.

This is so cool. This book has twins and triplets. I love multiples, and I absolutely love the baby names.

Such an amazing and beautiful legacy to leave for his family, all in memory of his mother. That is an accurate family hero tale for future generations to learn about and be proud of.

Loved it!

I feel satified after reading these 2 books. I wish there were more but that is just my addiction to books that are part of a series. I just get so attached to the characters, I never want them to end. Anyways, excited for the next books I have to read by Jessica Hall. :-)

This was so good

Jessica has done it again. I could not put this book down. Call me crazy but I kinda wanna know what’s going on with Charles, Elaine, & Leo though. I feel a little cheated in that aspect. This was still a good book.

Very Good Conclusion

The duology is tied up nicely with just enough twists to pull off a fully engaging read! I’m still disappointed that Harlow took Thayne back so quickly. And frankly, even though his mates/lovers were angry with him, and living elsewhere, they still gave him updates on Harlow. And they let him just WALLOW instead of “kicking his a$$.” Seriously they should have been like, NO WAY, what you did was nearly unforgivable, and how you’ve treated her since she to the house is also terrible!!! Harlow is staying with her sister, and then spends time with Raidon’s mom (after “forgiving her”). But book two still should have had Thayne miserable, alone, possibly mate sick. Not just giving her Alpha serum and saying here, look, I’ve made you stronger and now I can’t control you with my bark/commands. He REALLY just doesn’t “get” it…until THE END! At the end he truly “understands Harlow and Omegas in general. And the journey to him getting there is fraught with secrets, lies, intrigue and action. Again, just wish Jessica Hall had given us all many more begging, pleading, repentant, Thayne, before 1) Harlow took him back and 2) All the crazy action/drama began!!!

But yes, if you enjoyed the first book, you’ll enjoy this installment as well.

Though I rated the first book 3 stars, I have been known to enjoy a good bullying as I am all about the pain sometimes. This book was filled with action and honesty, a lot of pain for each of the main characters. Told from multiple POV, there wasn’t really groveling, though there was a lot of rescuing. I thought I would sell this duet, since I bought the paperback versions, but I think I will sit on that and see how I feel at a later date. There’s no cheating in this duet and one of the MMC’s is part vampire, so I could change my mind when I am feeling the need for some heartbreak.

I am giving the story 5 stars not the writing. I feel it should be revised it’s giving wattpad quality. I loved Harlow and most of her MCs and Leon’s two family members. I feel like there is some kind of chemistry between Harlow and Zara’s head alpha that we were gaslighted to think never happened. I don’t hate it tho, can I have Zara’s story or maybe something happens that makes Zara’s head alpha and Thane fight for an Omega I would really love to see who comes out victorious.

It was an amazing book, treating difficult themes from a good perspective. I love the dynamic between Thane, Rhen, Raidon, Leon and Harlow. Their character development is huge and I identify with Harlow a lot, she stayed strong and faced all the problems. Jessica did it again, even better than last time!

Intense

Ok so this was all sorts of crazy, the kind of crazy that you want to keep reading to find out what happens next. I'm glad they have their HEA but talk about trials and tribulations before the HEA.

Hands Down Phenomenal

This book is hands down phenomenal. So many twists and turns leaving you on the edge of your seat. Watching Thane make up for his actions was so good. Loved this duet so obsessed.

Harlow gets her HEA

The ending was everything I hoped for from the beginning of book 1! This book was rough for sure, but I was so glad that even with everything poor Harlow had to go through that she got her HEA at the end.

DNF 34% over it, I kinda understand why this is a duet to wrap up the storyline but man there is a lot going on it seems everything happening all at once and with all those names some that we barely even hear about it’s a little hard to follow.
Also needs quite some editing ..
