Passionately Loving My Best Friend's Father

Rate this book
A major earthquake. A tiny mountain town. A forbidden attraction.

The earth doesn’t just move—it dances—and I find myself in the arms of the most ruggedly alluring man I’ve ever seen.

Paul Fuller—widowed, wealthy and, unbeknownst to me, my best friend's father—comes to my rescue.

Trapped in a small mountain town by a devastating earthquake, he grudgingly offers me a bed in his luxurious mountain cabin until the roads are safe enough to travel.

Problem is, the roads are probably safer than the bed is and our primal instincts take over as his grumpy demeanor turns to tenderness and an unexpected love begins to grow.

For two exquisite days and nights, he takes me to heaven and back, echoing the ground’s violent tremors.

As aftershocks rattle the entire area, we face a seismic shift in our lives, as I discover this incredible man is actually my best friend’s father.

Paul gives me twins, but I what I need is a future.

With his daughter’s disapproval pulling us apart, I worry our love will crumble when what we really need to be building is something as strong and enduring as the majestic peaks which surround us.

This was a good story. Very engaging , sucking you into the plot and keeping you there from start to finish. The characters both the main and secondary and hope they get their own stories!

I was not fond of the ending. The book ended abruptly. There was an epilogue included which I think was to tie up loose strings. It did end with an an HEA but still felt like we missed out on something.

Ill start by saying I love a bestfriends dad age gap romance but this was the worst fucking book ever.
It was terribly written, missing punctuation, miss spelled words, and the dialogue was soooo repetitive.

The characters just regurgitated the same bullshit over and over. Literally, the same sentences back to back.

MMC was great, but he was everyones whipping post. They shit on him the whole book. His daughter..FMC..FMCs mom...

FMC was immature as fuck. She yelled at him on mutiple occasions before they even left the cabin. She only knows her best friends side of the story and ran her mouth.

Alice MMC daughter....spoiled bitch...ohh poor me everything is about me.
***Her attitude towards her dad.......You dropped me off at college and didn't call me every day, so now I hate you forever, but dont forget to give me endless money. You met my best friend 1 time in 4 years, and you didnt remember what she looked like....I hate you forever.***

FMCs mom attitude. ..MMC has to be a piece of shit because when I was 17, I got knocked up by a married man, and he called me names and left me.

Brilliant age-gap romance

A well written story, with a lovely slow-build, heartwarming romance, sweet and spicy scenes, passion, secrets, humor, best friend's dad, small town/secluded cabin romance and a lovely HEA.

Grace & Paul's romance is brilliant. He'd gone to Idyllwild for a break and to escape the memories of his wife who'd died 6 years before. She'd gone there to have some quiet time to study before her finals. When he helps her during an earthquake and then offers her somewhere to stay till the roads are safe she's grateful but spending time together they find themselves drawn to each other in a way they can't go back from.

Your one click away from reading the newest and soon to be bestselling book by Claire and I honestly mean it. Picture this the orange banner across the top of the book title all because of this wonderfully written masterpiece of a romance book. Grace and Paul are going to have you knocked off your feet while reading what is supposed to be an off-limits romance turns into double the surprise. My heart did ache for Paul with the loss of his beloved wife Shannon even though it had been six years. So, without giving away any other STEAMY details you definitely must read this book because like I said before it is really really amazing.

Unhappy best friend

Grace traveled to Idyllwood for a break and to study for her final exams. The day she checked out to go home a bad earthquake happened. Many trees were down across roads. She'd already given up her room and had nowhere to go. A man that she'd seen in the restaurant she just left offered her a place to stay in his cabin. He was quite grumpy but she felt safe where she was. Then after a couple days they became intimate.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it. I will certainly look for more that she's written in the near future.

In general this was a pretty good age gap surprise pregnancy romance. I like that the mmc and fmc didn’t jump into bed and a relationship on day 1 of meeting. I liked the realistic aspect of the story. I wish the author included my background story on the dead wife.

I did not like that the mmc took the blame for everything and had no backbone when it came to talking to his daughter. This book was very repetitive. I hated the dialogue and lack of articulate communication when the fmc finds out she is pregnant, every interaction with Alice, and the interaction with fmc’s mom.

This was my first book by this author. I will try some of her author stories.

When an earthquake strikes Paul comes to Grace's rescue and takes her away to his mountain cabin where for two days, they are engrossed in passion that has repercussions. When Grace learns that Paul is her best friend's father reality sinks in but not before two pink lines make their way into Grace's life. Will her relationship with Paul come between Paul and his daughter. This forbidden age gap book is steamy and had me all caught up in it.

Ok in all honesty I didn’t read the description or really take in the title of this book as I was behind on my reading due to walking pneumonia so I was incredibly surprised when the connection between Paul and Grace was revealed. I absolutely adored this book. I read it in just about 3 hours. I just could not turn those pages fast enough. So much family healing and don’t even get me started on the passion filled scenes. Totally off the charts. Loved it.

I love the in love with your fathers best friend trope and the younger woman older man genre. So too with the story of Paul and Grace, their journey which begins when they get stuck together in an earthquake. Once stuck they get to know each other better and both develop feelings for each other, despite the fact that it can't or shouldn't happen they don't let anything stop them and it's not long before they give in to their feelings and sparks are flying.

This is a book in the Love Stories: A Steamy Collection of Romance Series by this author, and can be read as a standalone. It is an age gap, off limits romance between Grace and her best friend's dad, Paul. These two flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an enjoyable read. It is a love story with drama and steam, sexual tension and chemistry, and twists and turns, family dynamic, plus appealing secondary characters. Emotional page turner.

Wowsa this book is best friends dad taboo and older man younger woman taboo that will definitely have you engrossed from the beginning until the end. Grace meets Paul during an earthquake and they're stranded together but when lines get crossed who is going to be heartbroken? I throughly enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down.

Grace goes to Idyllwild to escape LA and study for her finals. There is an earthquake while she is in town and Paul pulls her to safety. With the earthquake and aftershocks, roads are closed so Grace can't head back to LA. Paul offers his extra room at his cabin to her. She trusts him but second guesses it. Will they act on the hot chemistry between them? What happens when they realize Grace knows Paul's daughter? Will Alice forgive them? What about Grace's mom? Great story!!

Such an amazing book!

This was such a great book. The emotional journey the main characters had to go through was so heartbreaking.

The chemistry these two have is off the charts. I couldn’t put the book down for a second.

I can't wait to read more.

What's age matter

There are no age boundaries when there's true love. Only pain, hurt, surprises and understanding. So don't let an age difference dictate your true feeling. Grab it tightly and fight for every heart pounding moment. Let love win. Another great read that was hard to put down.

Warm loving (and hot) story

I like the couples relationship. It evolved especially nicely. Starts out a little slow, which worked with the story. Honestly, I couldn't stand the best friend. She came across as very self-centered and frankly not worth the effort. But the drama with her was part of the story so I guess it needed her. She just would never be a ride or die bestie.

Phenomenal story

Wow what a fantastic story. Absolutely amazing. Loved everything about it. Alice got on my nerves a bit. Seemed so self righteous and selfish. But otherwise great story

While not really my thing, this was a surprisingly good romance novel with a strong plot: hitting on family relationships, betrayals, secrets, age gap hot passion and steamy sex, forgiveness, and new starts.

Good stand-alone romance

The story was good and the characters well developed. Needs some editing. Some incorrect words used in places. Good ending with an epilogue that gives more details after 4 years.

Paul comes to Grace's chemistry was captivating of passion and romance. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. It was addicted and you will be sucked right into this story of romance and sweet love. They couldn’t fight the temptation anymore as they gave into the passion and spicy relationship.
I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
