Single mother Estrella Cortez has been put in an impossible situation: find a spouse within the next six months, or lose guardianship of her daughter.

After her brother and best friend passed away, Estrella swore to raise Daisy as her own. But when the little girl’s grandparents threaten Estrella with a custody battle if she does not find a spouse, she knows she has to do exactly that to spare Daisy the fear and heartbreak that comes with a fight over guardianship.

Lucky for her, James Landon has long stopped believing in love and marriage, making him the perfect match for her.

Although they get off on the wrong foot, he offers to marry her for as long as it takes to get rid of Daisy’s grandparents and keep the little girl safe with Estrella. The only problem the Brit faces? He likes his fake wife a lot more than he would like to admit, and with every moment they spend together, his feelings for her grow. And no matter how many times he tries to push her away, to keep her at arm’s length, he can’t stay away from her. He’s constantly drawn to her, and she finds herself letting him see parts of her she hid for years.

But with Daisy’s grandparents a looming threat, and their complicated pasts interfering with their feelings, they find themselves struggling to figure out what they want.

Even when Daisy and Estrella are the family James has always wanted, and James is the spouse Estrella never wanted but has fallen for without a shred of doubt.

Special thanks to Bridget for an arc copy for this book + my apologies for the delay, I took my sweet time with this one .

"You are my shining bright light in a pitch-black galaxy." JAMES LANDON everyone 🤩

I need to remind you that I loved Jump-Start and also read both Val and Adrian's stories ( can't get myself to read their second books still) . When I saw Bridget was gonna publish James' story, I was the one jump-starting the release of it 🤭.

I knew James had the potential to break me and his and Estrella's story almost did. Thought not my favorite of the series, their love story is so bittersweet and tender , in Bridget's heartbreakingly characteristic style. How passionate and understanding Estrella is about racing , how loyal and self-sacrificing James is , after the rough childhood he endured.....Immediate swoon.

My favorite parts of the book were the dates they went on, especially the test drive and the mini karting session they had with the kids. So lovely to see a healthy co-parenting situation in a book, most end up with a toxic or dead parent (so overdone in my opionion) , but Damien's life is filled with beautiful and thoughtful parents that love him 💗
As always, amazing LGBT+ rep : most main characters are bi and pansexual respectively.

If you want to experience this book at another level, make sure to read the other books before (I assure you they are more than worth it.)

Spice is not my thing in books, but the healthy description of kinks and dom/sub and consent was refreshing. Usually something bothers me about how willingly the female enters BDSM , but here it was discussed and accepted💗

My rating is 4 stars, because I just love the other books too much that in a weird way it hindered my enjoyment of this one 😅 but that just speaks of how I love Bridget's books. I loved both James and Estrella and hopefully you'll all get to enjoy them now as well💗

“I’m flattered. Do all of your son’s teachers get such special treatment?” she asks, her brown eyes filling with fury.
“Only the beautiful ones who make me want to rip out my hair in frustration.” This makes her smile and fuck me, I welcome it back like flowers welcome the sun.
"Actually, your son has been an absolute angel these past four months. You’re the one who’s been behaving like Satan's spawn. Maybe I should lecture you instead.” That damn smirk of his reappears.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time, darling.”
“James Landon, will you please marry me and make me the unhappiest woman?” The gorgeous man in front of me takes a step forward to cup my chin again. I let him do it. I have no idea why I keep letting him, but it would be a lie if I said I didn’t enjoy his touch.
“I will marry you, darling, and I will do everything in my power to help you keep Daisy where she rightfully belongs.”
“No take-backs, I promise. I will be your husband for as long as you need me to be. You will be my wife.”
Wife, wife, wife.
“I’ll take you. As my wife, you’ll have to come to at least a few.”
“This whole being in love with your best friend thing isn’t going to work for me. This might be a fake marriage, but I can’t have you looking at Valentina the way you’re supposed to be looking at me. So, from now on, I’m the only woman you get to fantasise about, get to have feelings for, and get to look at longingly. Do you understand?” Bloody fucking hell.
“Choose whatever you want, Daisy. I’ll buy it for you,” he replies, and my daughter lets go of my hand to skip toward the glass displays. She looks at the jewelry with hearts in her eyes, bringing a wave of happiness to my chest. I love how expressive her face is.
“I want to. You and Daisy are a package deal, and therefore you should both get something,” he explains, causing my heart to flutter in my chest. I don’t trust this man, but he wasn’t lying when he said he was a decent person. He’s more than decent. James is kind.
He takes my hand before I get to look at the piece and slides it down my finger. A perfect fit. I look up at him and hold eye contact until butterflies flap their wings against every organ in my body. The ring is a diamond cut into a star and the rest of it spirals into different lines of smaller diamonds. It looks like a shooting star. A fucking shooting star that he chose because I told him why my parents named me Estrella.
“Are you going to be my daddy?” Daisy says, and I stumble two steps backward.
“I’ll be whatever you tell me to be,” James replies, and it takes everything out of me not to be.😩🥺🥺💗
“And what am I?” Those blue eyes meet mine again.
“A shining bright light in a pitch-black galaxy.”
“Yeah. They better leave you alone now. If not, I’ll find a way to send them straight back to where they came from,” I say and start walking again.
“And where is that?” I hear the amusement in her voice long before I turn my head to see her grinning.
“Hell.”
“And how do I look at her?” I challenge, crossing my arms in front of my chest while I wait for a response.
“You look at her like you’ve been waiting for her your whole life and can’t believe she’s finally here,”😩🥹🥹❤️‍🩹
“Mamá bought a nice dress,” Daisy says with excitement lacing her voice. I pick her up and place her on my right hip, doing my best to keep my focus on her and not let it drift to Estrella’s tensed-up shoulders.
“You’re the princess, Daisy. Your mamá is the queen.”
“We’ll be husband and wife, darling, till death do us part because I’m pretty sure you’ll kill me before we get the chance to divorce,” he jokes, and I let out a small laugh.
And it’s all thanks to James Oliver Landon as he chases me around the track.
I pick up the little girl and place her on my hip. She wastes no time wrapping her arms around my neck.
“I’m going to give you five seconds to take your hands off my husband. If you’re still touching him by the time I reach one, I’ll remove them for you, okay?” Estrella asks, and I turn my head just enough to see her standing in the area between the living room and kitchen.
“Good. That wasn’t so hard, was it?” she asks, faking a smile. “Now, how about you give your wife the chance to speak to her son while I escort you out of our home? Or would you rather I release this recording of you almost strangling your son so all of your rich, little friends can see who you truly are?” Estrella asks, pointing at the phone she propped against the vase on the shelf beside her.
“It’s beautiful. He’s had stars put everywhere, dahlias, green and white place settings, and other floral decorations. It’s nicer than my wedding,” Valentina
“Touch her without her consent, and I’ll cut something off. You don’t need your dick or balls, right?” she threatens, and I cover my mouth once again.
CHIARA ATE,SLAYED, SERVED💅🏻👠🥵🥵🥵😏❤️‍🔥
“If I were you, I’d get your hands off my wife before I remove them,” I warn the short man with dark, wavy brown hair.
“Why do you keep taking care of things? Of me?” Estrella asks, her fingers snaking around my wrists where they are resting on her face
“Because I have a feeling no one’s taken care of you in a long time.” Because despite my best efforts, I care about you.
“It’s not even your wedding. Why the hell are you crying?” I ask, but he doesn’t look away from Nevaeh as he replies. “I’m reliving the memory of our own wedding in my head, dipshit. Leave me alone.” I almost burst into laughter at that.
And the BROMANCE??!!🤌🏻😂😂😂🤣❤️ CHEF'S KISS
My heart palpitates so strongly, it knocks the breath out of my chest. She looks devastating. Her dress isn’t white. It’s sage green, and it fits her body and skin tone perfectly. The chest part is a corset, but the bottom half of it flows around her long, trained legs. There are flowers woven into the lace covering the lower half of the dress, and I almost take a seat when I see the slit on the left side, exposing part of her tattooed leg. There are straps hanging on her shoulders, but the corset is pushing up her breasts wonderfully. And fuck me, the rest of her gorgeous tattoos are on display. This dress and this woman were created to bring a man like me to their fucking knees. Her brown hair is in a complicated updo, and her makeup is light, subtle colours that match her dress. Estrella’s eyes are full of the same kind of nervosity I feel deep inside my chest, but I give her a reassuring smile, telling her we’ve got this. Together.
“No one’s going to take her from us. We’re a unit, and I promise you, the only way Bert and Jennifer will take Daisy is over my dead body,” he assures me before letting me wrap my arms around his waist to seek comfort.
“Are you real? Because I can touch you, try to convince myself that you’re really here, but I don’t understand why you would be. I don’t deserve it,” he replies, leaning away to break skin contact.
“I feel pretty real to me,” I say, trying to distract him. “And I’m here because I’m your wife. Real marriage or not, that means something.” 😂😂😂🤣❤️yeahh mee too
Maybe that’s why every morning, when I roll over to look for her on the other side of the bed, disappointment washes through me to see her gone. But what is always there, what irritates me more than words can describe, is her wedding ring resting on her bedside table.
And every morning, I pick it up, carry it to whichever room Estrella sits in, grab her hand, and slide it back into its proper place. She glares at me every time but never says anything. I don’t say anything either. I’m satisfied with the fact that she keeps wearing her engagement ring, and if I have to bring her the wedding band each morning, then so be it.
“She went to work. She will be back soon, I promise,” I assure her, and the next thing I know, her little arms wrap around my neck as she hugs me for the whole world to see. I hug her back, smiling at this little thing. Because it is meant to be a little thing. A child hugging their parent. Except I’m not her dad. Not really. And she’s not my daughter. No matter how much it’s starting to feel that way. I love this DAD-DAUGHTER DUO SOO MUCH
🥺🥺🥺❤️‍🩹
This year, I’m getting my first title. And allowing myself to fall for my wife.
“Do I get a kiss now, wife?” I whisper, making her roll her eyes.
“Of course, husband,” she says with a fake smile, but as soon as I cup her cheek to lean down and kiss her, she mouths the words, “I hate you.”
“Look at me,” he demands, and, damn him, but I love this side of him. The firm, I’m-taking-what-I-want-and-what-I-want-is-you side. “You are good enough,” he says, and the tears drop. “Say it, little star. Say it for me.”
“I can’t,” I blurt out, crying even harder.
“Yes, you can, darling. Tell me you’re good enough. Tell me you’re the best mother that little girl could have ever asked for. Tell me you’re worthy of all the good things this world has. Then, I’ll let you go.”
“I’m good enough. I’m the best mother Daisy could have ever asked for. I’m worthy of all the good things this world has.” He nods in approval
“There’s my girl.” I melt into him at his words and the way he presses a soft kiss to my forehead. “Today was not your fault. I’ll make sure this never happens again. I’ll have security with you every race weekend you attend.” He kisses my forehead again, then wraps his arms around me, his scent filling my nose until I melt against him.
“Are you sure?” He holds up a keychain with a Formula One car and the Australian track dangling from it.
He brings F1 car key chain even though he wasnot present at the scene with them!!!🥺🥺🥺❤️‍🩹
“Whatever you want, wife.”
“Sleep, husband. I want some sleep.”
“Give me everything, Estrella,” I say and hand her the earrings in the shape of stars that I bought after Nicolette’s advice this morning. “I want it all.”
Estrella and Daisy have only come to a single race this season, but I saw the way my wife stared at the cars and race track like there was not much she wanted more than to be the one driving. With no one racing against her today, it’s much safer. I know she’s worried about something happening to her because she’s all Daisy has. Well, at least she used to be. I think Estrella has yet to see that she and Daisy are not alone anymore. They have me. They have Valentina, Gabriel, Nevaeh, Adrian, Leonard, Chiara, Cameron, Scarlette, and Julián. They have a family in Monaco now, and it’s the kind of family that would cross every line to protect them.
“No. Not many people appreciate the fact that I get off on being in control,” he admits, gently caressing my left breast. He nudges the head of his cock into me, and I gasp at the thick feel of him. “It’s why I want you to know, I’ll always give you a safe space to explore your kinks. You tell me what you want, and I’ll give it to you.” James slides an inch inside of me, and my lips part as I moan. “All your fantasies, Estrella, I want them all. I’ll make them all come true,” he says, sinking even deeper inside of me.
I may be dominant during sex, but that’s only then. Ignoring Estrella’s wishes and doing what I want to do is not how I want this relationship to work. There is a decision we will both be happy with, and even if there isn’t, at the end of it all, this is Estrella’s decision. I only get whatever she’s willing to give me.
“Usually, I prefer it the other way around, but sure,” I tease, and the hope blooming inside her has her giggling.
“Anything you need from me, wife, I’ll give you. I promise.”
Estrella is remarkable in a way I’ve grown to adore more than most things. She’s kind, resilient, tough, courageous, a wonderful mother, a devastatingly beautiful person inside and out, and so smart. She makes me laugh so much, and whenever she’s in front of me, I can’t look away. I can never look away from my wife.
“As long as no one comes for the people I love. They can attack me all they want, but if someone harasses my wife and daughter again, I promise you, I’ll actually turn into the bad guy.”
It’s another entirely to make my girls feel unsafe by crowding them in and screaming at them. And that will never happen again. I’ve sworn to protect them with everything I’ve got. Even after she breaks my heart and takes it with her.
The new pair of earrings I bought her—shaped like daisies—decorate her ears, making me smile. For every date, I have bought her a pair of earrings. I always try my best to make it something related to her. Stars, daisies, green diamonds, something racing-related, and more.
“I hate you,” she mumbles after a moment of silence, surprising a laugh out of me.
“For finding the right words. For reassuring me. For being you. I just hate you. I don’t need a specific reason,” she teases, and I burst into laughter.
“What are you doing to me, little star? With every word you utter, you pull me in deeper. With every kiss, I feel more tethered to you,” I say, kissing the corner of her mouth, not quite giving either of us a proper taste. Estrella shivers.
Scenes like this have my whole heart😩🥺🥺🥺❤️
My wife is so cute when she’s scowling at me. I can’t help but grin at her, committing the image of her— her fists on her hips, tattoos on full display in her sweet, green summer dress, curves I want to dig my hands into, and beautiful features downturned into an upset expression— into my memories forever.
“I love it when you get like this. You’re a dom, but you’re a soft dom. Always taking care of me and my pleasure. Always praising me.
“I’ll always take care of you, my beautiful wife.” My body is trembling as I drop my hand to her throat and apply the smallest amount of pressure. “Tell me about a kink you’ve always wanted to explore,” I say.
“Do not interrupt me again while my wife is kissing me,” he warns, his accent thick and his voice low. I almost shudder, but not in a bad way. Not at all. “You’re late,” he points out next, perfectly composed despite the angry expression consuming his features.
“My life would look exactly how I’ve always hoped it would, only with the right woman by my side and a daughter I could only wish for,” he replies so quickly, my head spins a little.
“No, Estrella. You need to choose me the same way I’m choosing you. Not because you have to. Not because of a marriage born out of convenience. You have to choose me because you want me, and if you need to take some time to figure out if that’s the case, I’ll give it to you. I love you and Daisy more than I’ll ever be able to put into words. That won’t change if you ask for a bit of distance. Nothing will ever change that.”
“This is your home, James,” I say, but he shakes his head.
“No, little star, you’re my home. This is merely a house. If you want it, it’s yours.”
“Can’t blame me for being curious about a beautiful woman like her.” A smile I don’t mean curls the left side of my mouth, but I know it’s more dangerous than friendly. His grin falls as he takes it in.
“Yeah, my wife is very beautiful. She’s also very intelligent, kind, funny, strong, compassionate, and one hell of a racecar driver.” I take a step toward him, towering over him. “You know what else Estrella is?” He swallows hard, and I keep my threatening smile in place as I add, “She’s very mine and very off-limits.” His eyes widen visibly in fear. “I suggest you remember that, or next time I’ll show you why the world has painted me as the bad guy of Formula One.” I leave him standing where he is, irritation gnawing at me. This fucking rookie is really testing my self-control today.
Jealousy, jealousy👀👀👀🤭😏😏😏❤️‍🔥
“I love you in every galaxy, James Oliver Landon. I choose you. I will always choose you. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you that before. I’m sorry it’s taken so long, but I’m hoping you’ll still have me,” she says, doing a much better job at keeping her tears at bay. Mine have started rolling down from the second she told me she loves me.
“You’re my shooting star, Estrella, and I wish for you and Daisy to stay in my life permanently. Not because of a marriage of convenience. Not because we’re faking. I don’t want this to have an end date. I want this to last forever.
“I want to stay married. I want you to keep coming to races when you have time. I want everything we had, but I don’t ever want you to wonder if it’s real or not. It’s always been real to me.” He swallows hard, and so do I. “I don’t want to be apart from you unless it’s necessary. I want to entangle our lives further, in every way. I want us to allow ourselves to feel whatever it is we need to feel. I want all your happiness and sadness. I want your pain and pleasure. Give me everything, Estrella.”
“You can have everything, James.” A tear drops down my cheek. “Every piece of me. Every part of my soul. You can know every bit of me. Because I want everything you’re saying, too,” I say, and he lifts his hands to snake his fingers around my wrists. “I need you to know that being apart from you was excruciating for me, too. I wanted to be with you every second, bebé. I love you. I have loved you for so long. Please don’t ever doubt that.”
“I love you,” I whisper once he leans back. He presses his forehead to mine, and I can practically feel him smiling.
“I love you so much, and I’m never letting you go again.”
“I’m never going anywhere again.”
“I’m here with you, my love. Whatever you need, I will give it to you. If you need a moment of privacy today, I will take Daisy and we can go to that little plaza you were telling me about where the mariachi are performing tonight. I’ll do whatever I can to support you,” I promise, watching her eyes flutter shut in the mirror in front of us
“You’ve done it. You are Champion of the World.”
“You did it, bebé. You won. You’re the champion,” she says, tracing what us racers call helmet lines that stay on our faces for a while after our races. It’s that simple, gentle motion that centres me even as my heart and soul are overcome with pride and joy.
“You’re my happy ending, Estrella.” I kiss her again, lingering with our noses still touching.
“And you’re mine,” she replies.
Our story may have been far from a fairytale, but we did save each other. We fell in love, and we gave our hearts to the right person for the first and last time in our lives.
Epilogue
“What are you doing?”
“What I should have done the very first time, darling.” I get on one knee when she’s in front of me, taking her hand as I sink to the ground. “Estrella Celeste Cortez-Landon, you are the very definition of a soulmate for me. You are the reason I breathe like I’ve never been more at peace in my life. You hold my heart in your perfect hands, and I don’t ever want you to place it back inside my chest.”
“I belong to you in a way I never thought I’d belong to a person. You belong to me in a way I never thought anyone would give themself to me. You’re the love of my life, little star, and every single day you choose me is a day I’ll spend consumed by the type of love I’ve always wanted. You and Daisy are everything to me. Everything and so much more.” I hold both of her hands as I say my next words. “My sweetest Estrella, would you do me the honour of marrying me again? This time, without a prenup and rules we came up with? Without anything that says I don’t want to be with you for the rest of my life?”
“Yes, James. I do.” She flings her arms around me and kisses me like I’m the best thing in the world, and I drink in her feelings as our tongues tangle. “You’re the love of my life, too. I love you in every galaxy in our universe. I love you like the stars love to illuminate the night sky. I love you, plain and simple.”
This book is just PERFECTION!!

#Review: *Straight to the Chapel* - Bridget L. Rose [18+]
4.5/5✨
3.5/5🌶️

I adoore Formula 1, so I'm always excited to read books which contains this sport. Also, I liked so much the other book I read from Bridget, that I needed to read more by her. Thank you so, so much for accepting me to be part of your ARC team for this book🤗.

Estrella Cortez is a single mom for cute Daisy. She isn't in fact her biological mother, but Daisy remained in her care after her parents passed away. But her grandparents want to take her away from Estrella. This will be her main focus from then on - to do anything possible to keep Daisy with her. The problem was that she urgently needed to find a husband.

James Landon is a Formula 1 driver, part of Hawke team, alongside Cameron Kion. James' son, Damian, went to the same racing academy where Estrella worked, where he was constantly bickering with Estrella's daughter, Daisy. This little argument will be the reason of the 1st meeting of James and Estrella, which will ignite something inside James that can make him forget about his heartbreak.
James' friends were impressed by Estrella's situation and pushed him to step in to help her, by becoming her husband.

It was so lovely to read this book! I really, really liked the segments about racing! They were depicted in such a detailed manner that it could make you feel like you were watching a real race. The tension and suspense of those moments were so intense that I could feel that adrenaline pumping through me too. Another thing I liked was the awesome friendships the characters had and how supportive they were of each other. Something that didn't work for me that much was that tiny bit of drama scenes, but the good parts were more impactful than that, so it didn't affect my opinion about the overall story. It was so nice to see how James and Estrella blossomed in that whole period they were together and how the fireworks flew around them.

I'll always give a chance to any book which includes Formula 1 subjects. This one had an almost perfect split between romance and sports. I can say that Bridget's books are the right ones to pick up if you wanna start reading Formula 1 romance. All specific terms of Formula 1 are explained really good, introducing you, bit by bit, to this amazing sport.

[arc review]

you guys 🥹 i want to squish james’ cheeks and shrink him down and put him in my pocket. he’s the sweetest man ever. i haven’t gotten around to properly meeting everyone in the pitstop series yet but i fear i have to rank james higher than adrian AND I LOVE ADRIAN. i just can’t help liking the type of man james is in the bedroom 🫢

estrella is such a good mom to daisy and james is a great dad to damian. the kids so clearly adore their parents, even though damian was a bit of a little shit in the beginning. james started out hating the arrangement he volunteered himself for but despite that, he cares so much for estrella and daisy. he might’ve hated estrella, but he refused to put a little girl through all the pain and trauma that came with losing a parent. james has such a soft heart and i love it.

and of course the girl group steals me every time. their relationship is the best thing in the world.

✨ ARC Review ✨

I love the pit stop series and was excited to get my hands on James’ book!

I started out as not the biggest fan of James’ character but after seeing him step up time and time again and leaning more about his past he is now one of my favourites (no one can top Adrian though)

I’m a big fan of enemies to lovers and this book with the marriage of convince trope did not disappoint The story's mix of tension, stubbornness, drama, desire and mutual protectiveness was perfect!

My favourite thing about this series is their beautiful found family.

I LOVED this book so much! One of my favorite tropes is marriage of convenience and this book delivered. I loved the relationship development between the 2 lead characters and the author did such a great job of making these characters human. This book had such good mental health rep too which just made this book so good!

I received a free copy and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I’ve loved all the books in the Pitstop series so far and ofc this one is no exception bc it has one of my favorite tropes - marriage of convenience. I was kind of iffy on James at the beginning because he was still not over Valentina but he got over it so it was all okay. I love when little kids get roles in romance books because they’re always so funny. Also we love seeing more women in racing even if Estrella wasn’t in F1

tropes:
single parents
marriage of covenience
f1 racer
forbidden romance
forced proximity

tysm to the author for this arc <33

This was a really sweet and cosy romance, with good drama, steamy scenes, tension and adorable hate to love you banter.
I enjoyed all the tropes, fake marriage single mum, forced proximity, scared to love, and enjoyed seeing both characters grow.

Another beautiful Bridget book! I am never disappointed by one of her books, and I truly mean never. What I did not expect was James Landon stealing my heart?

The single parent trope is always so fun to read, and this one having both main characters be single parents was incredible. And then you add in hate to love and a marriage of convenience and it is an absolute top tier romance.

James, Estrella, and their beautiful kids have my whole heart after this book. I’m so happy to see James find his person after everything he went through throughout this whole series. He deserved his moment.

As always with Bridget, the representation in this book was spectacular, as was the romance of course! I’ll never stop preaching this series to people!

“Your heart is still in your chest James, that’s why you’re hurting right now.”

Estrella Cortez is many things, but the thing she is proudest of? Raising Daisy on her own after the devastating loss of her brother and her best friend. She has sacrificed a lot for Daisy, and if she could she would do it all again in a heartbeat. The one thing she wasn’t prepared for? Daisy’s grandparents threatening to take Daisy away from her if she doesn’t follow their stipulation: She has 6 months to find a spouse.
James Landon may have an incredible career as a racecar driver, but the thing he loves the most is his son. When James learns of Estrella’s struggles, he steps into help. After all he knows all too well that he can’t fall in love, not when his heart belongs to Valentina Romana, so they should be safe right?

Okay there is so much to love about this book, and this is going to be a long one.

Straight To The Chapel centres one of my favourite tropes; marriage of convenience. This is one of my favourite things that come along with that, and the way it is in this book is so good, it gives all the pining, all the feelings, all of the initial denying of feelings. Every time a new book in the Pitstop series is released, I wonder how Bridget is going to top the last one, and without fail, every book is a knockout, and this one is no different.

James is such an interesting character to me. When I first read about him in Rush and then in Chase, I found myself getting frustrated by him a lot, but now on the back of this, he might be one of my favourite male characters in the series. Getting to see more about him, and why he is the way he is was so interesting, and was something that I really loved. Getting to see more of his backstory and how it affects him years later, given that it closely reflects a certain driver, just breaks my heart. Seeing a completely different side of him to normal added so much depth to him as a character, and it just made him so much better in my opinion.

Estrella. If there is one thing that is a guarantee, it’s that there will always be a strong female character and for the longest time my favourite has been Valentina. That being said, Estrella is potentially my favourite character that Bridget has ever written. The strength in that woman is immense. It’s shown very early on what she is capable of, the mourning whilst stepping up and raising Daisy. There’s a lot of inspiring characters and Estrella is firmly cemented among them. From the first chapter I loved how fiery she was and how resilient she was. She goes toe to toe with a driver and doesn’t back down once and it’s one of my favourite things about her. And the tenderness in how her love is shown, the way that when she recognises someone she loves is in pain her first reaction is ‘what do you need that I can give you’, just shows how she is at her core.

Together on the other hand. It has to be said, the banter, the back and forth between James and Estrella is some of the best that Bridget has ever written. Every moment was so perfect, I was fully laughing out loud at multiple points, while blushing and kicking my feet at others. The similarities between them was very evident and it’s what makes it work so well between them. The way their kids are at the forefront of everything they do. The sacrifices they make for them, and referring to them as their greatest love story just gave me all the feels. James completely taking Daisy in, dancing with her in the kitchen, making sure she’s protected. Their family is the sweetest thing.

One of the best things that has remained the same throughout the series is the found family aspect, and how they expand when needed to, and that’s never been more apparent than in this book. You really get more of a sense of the women in this book just how much their circle is supporting each other and uplifting each other. Chiara in this book is everything, her way of being so protective of everyone reinforces how fantastic she was. There’s more of Julian and Scarlett in this book as well which I loved. There’s such a wide cast throughout this series, and yet everyone really gets their chance to shine. I love how funny everyone in Straight To The Chapel is as well. It gets lost in the drama sometimes, but there's a lot of humour in this and it makes the more serious moments shine that much more.

Something that I think is very important to notice is that while the characters are living with mental health problems, Bridget takes such care in reassuring readers that the way they are depicted in each book, this book included, isn’t a universal experience, and I think it’s something that helps readers understand that just because they experience things differently doesn’t mean it matters any less, or that their experiences aren’t valid and it’s such an important detail that I think can be overlooked sometimes.

My favourite thing about F1 as a sport is how the adrenaline affects you whilst watching it. I get so invested, that I feel the adrenaline, I feel the heart stopping moments and how it feels like my heart drops into my stomach, it’s my favourite thing about the weekends. SOmehow Bridget manages to provoke these same feelings when I’m reading racing scenes. She manages to capture the way F1 is in a way that is truly incredible.

This is genuinely one of my favourite books in the series, and one of my favourites that I’ve read this year. Start to finish it was fun, it was sweet, and it was emotional. It’s such an easy 5 star read for me.

'And, right now, it’s all I need to distract me from feeling as unwanted as I always have.'

This is a review I have found myself hesitant to write, or rather no, not hesitant but finding it difficult, there is a lot to unpack and not enough words to use to describe this book without giving EVERYTHING away.

Bridget L Rose, this book is a masterpiece, having read each of you other books, some more than once, I hate to have to say it, this one is my favourite in this series so far!
While Adrian still holds a very big place in my heart, James is chasing behind in a VERY close, like miniscule amount 2nd, think 1.8 seconds if even that.

James is everything I can think of to describe me and my journey with self doubt, depression and just feeling not enough. He puts all my feelings into words and makes me feel seen and heard not one or the other.
I have always said, I will never find a relatable character in a book because there just isn't anyone like me and well, you gave me James.

Estrella is the perfect embodiment of a single mom who would do anything for her child, Daisy and Estrella's story is one of self growth and reflection, while Estrella would give everything for Daisy and it takes a hot minute for her to realise she can live her dreams and be a mom too, hits home.

I love that each of these books focuses on an aspect in most male dominant sports where females are frowned upon, when they shouldn't be, we are just as capable. Each female character just knows how to put their male counterparts in their place and I'm totally here for it.

Single parents have it hard and eventhough Estrella and Daisy were brought together by tragedy, James and Damian are not very different, their grief and loss are different but all the same as well. Loss and grief are never far from one another.
The found family that James and Estrella have, when both have often felt abandoned, is something I am starting to discover in my group of friends and I think every human needs a tribe like this.

I could go on and on about this book, and how in my sports romance genre is definitely my top read of 2025, but you will have to read it for yourself to be immersed into this world like I am, as usual, Bridget combines real life struggles with one sport I will choose above the rest - F1.

Thank you for the opportunity for meeting James and Estrella before anyone else - they are my heart home, and will make me watch the little stars.

Who is next... Cameron maybe???

This has my WHOLE heart. No romance book will ever beat this one for me. My love for this book will be forever unmatched. (I know I sound repetitive but idc that’s how much I love this book.)

The characters in this book, Estrella and James were spectacularly written. Bridget really outdid herself with this book. The way she wrote Estrella’s experiences as a single mom was incredible. It was so raw and insightful to see how Estrella coped as a single mom as well to see her inner thoughts and struggles. My heart goes out for all the single mom’s out there.

James is my new favourite book boyfriend. I’m claiming him as MINE! Sorry everyone else haha. James was so caring I absolutely ate it up. It was so heartbreaking to see how caring he was because he wanted other people to feel cared about since he never felt that way growing up with his parents, especially his father. I was just so happy to see him finally finding the love and family he deserves after feeling alone for such a long time.

The plot of this book was so gripping. I didn’t want to put this book down. This book was so intense and had so many heartwarming and emotional moments.

Another thing I love about Bridget’s books is how well she balances f1 knowledge in her books. She adds just enough for all the f1 fans to appreciate and then just enough explaining for the people who may not understand all the rules of f1 (aka me).😂

Overall I absolutely LOVED this book. It is definitely my newest obsession. I definitely recommend grabbing it since it’s officially out on Amazon!🤭

Thank you so much to the author, Bridget for giving me the absolute honor of beta and arc reading this book!🫶

ARC Review 🫧

first of all, i want to thank bridget once more for allowing me to be an ARC reader for her books. it is a privilege and gift i hold so near to my heart.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5 (wish there was a rating higher than 5)
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ / 5 (the quality of the spice within this book is TOP TIER)

i was absolutely and utterly blown away by this book. i cried, giggled, screamed into my pillow and kicked my feet on multiple parts through this entire book.

bridget has absolutely done it again making me fall in love with new characters and old ones through the entire duration of this book.

admittedly, going into this, i was not james’ biggest fan. but now? consider me public defender number one of james landon. this man has been added to my immensely long list of book boyfriends. estrella, little star, my god do i love her. she’s strong, independent and badass. i will protect her with my very life if i have to. she deserves the world and then some.

the mental health representation was, as always, on point within this book and made me feel seen. the tropes? my god. this book had all the ones i’m down bad for in one book.

i loved seeing, and falling in love even more; with characters from the entire series. adrian still has my entire heart if anyone is wondering but james is coming for his spot after this read.

this book is officially out for purchase, and on kindle unlimited, on february 22nd. i urge you, in the meantime to prepare for this one, read the entire series leading up to this one.

ARC Review ✨
First I would like to say a big thank you to Bridget for letting me be apart of this ARC Team!
Rate: 5/5⭐️
Spice: 2.5/5🌶️

What to expect when reading Straight to the Chapel;
-Enemies x Lovers
-Formula 1
-He falls hard
-Marriage of Connivence
-Forced Proximity
-Found Family

If you have read this series you know James has struggled through it over many aspects of his life. Estella is a single mom that is facing a custody battle. When their not so meet cute turns into him being her only hope will marriage of convenience solve their problems.

I could not put this book down! Loved these two and I might even go as far as saying they’re my favorite couple in this series. Which is hard to say because I love them so much. The way James stepped up through this entire book just melted my heart. Estella is such a strong FMC and these two together, even though they were fighting it throughout, the book had chemistry that was to die for. The plot was so good and I enjoyed how in the end everyone was involved to help.

Bridget has seriously done it again🙌

Side notes:
-seeing the entire friend group we have grown to love
-Adrian is such a clown and I will forever be here for it 😂
-love to girls being girls girls in this
-this is definition of found family.

Fav Quote: ”You’re the princess Daisy. Your mama is the queen.” & “A shining bright light in a pitch-black galaxy”

Make sure you get the book when it releases Feb. 22nd💚

Infinite stars ✨

I read this book in almost one sitting!

James is everything I love about Adrian! His banter with Estrella is so GOOD! And Daisy is such a cute kid. I loved seeing her and Damian so much throughout the book.

Estrella is the perfect match for James. She challenges him and helps him reframe his perspective on things. Both of them carry the weight of the world. They truly needed each other. They are easily one of, if not my favourite couple of the series! (It's just to hard to choose between them and Adrian and Nevaeh.

I love that the marriage doesn’t seem easy. It’s nice seeing Estrella struggle with it, it makes it seem much more realistic. She’s human and it shows.

Seeing both Estrella and James stand up for each other during moments of external conflict was so heart-warming. The plot pulled at my heart strings so much. I cried, I giggled (the dialogue really was everything) and I swooned. Any times James opened his mouth, I fell for him more and more.

And we get to see the whole pit-stop gang together! The found family trope truly reaches its climax in this book. The friendships are unmatched and I got to see more of my girl Scarlette!

Thank you Bridget for the ARC and for letting me rant to you in your dms while reading! Each of your books tops the previous.

🏎️ARC REVIEW 🏎️

First of all I wanted to thank Bridget for giving me the opportunity to be her arc reader.

As for James after seeing him struggle for 4 books I just wanted him to have an epic love story. I think Bridget achieved to write a heartfelt story that gives us hope that everyone can find love in the most unusual ways.

As a Latino women I loved Estrella’s character, combining her music preferences, the food she cooks and her use of the Spanish language I think she captures the essence of an immigrant women proud of her culture.

I have to highlight the found family that this series has, I love the friendships, the group dinámica and how everyone supports with so much passion each other.

As always I enjoyed reading her book, the f1 representation, the writing, and how the communications problems are treated gives you the most thrilling experience.

I would recommend any f1 lover or even a love lover to give a chance to not only this book but this saga.

Some tropes to keep in mind are enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, single parents, found family and more.

What are you waiting… 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️run to the closest store to buy it ✨✨

Oh. My. GOSH! When I tell you I’m literally in love with every book in this series, it’s insane. I’ve always been excited for James’ story after reading about him in the other books. Let’s just say, my expectations were completely blown out of the park because this book right here is AMAZING! James and Estrella have my heart, I absolutely adore them and their story. Did I cry? Yes. Did I crash out? Also yes, but that’s what makes this book WORTH THE READ PEOPLE! The emotion in this book is PHENOMENAL! No other books have made be bawl my eyes out like this one and the others in the series. And let’s not forget about the representation! What really stuck out to me what Damian and his ADHD. That part really touched me, with a younger brother who was diagnosed with ADHD, I was extremely happy to see that represented as well as grief, depression, anxiety, all of that. That’s what really makes me love these books. I also connect with not only James and Estrella, but all the Pit Stop Series’ characters soooooo well, and that’s another thing that literally makes these books addicting 😭. Anyway! Extremely recommend STTC! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️‼️

sweet and spicy romance.

it's the 7th in a series, and all the past MCs are side characters in this story. long-time readers will enjoy spending more time with them, but as a newbie to the series, I was mostly confused by the large cast of characters and their relationships with each other. still even as a newbie I appreciated the strong friendships within the group, and I like that that was part of the story.

minor gripe, nothing serious - i picked this up coz the MMC is a cat dad and the cover showed the cats. I expected more of the cats in the story, but they barely appeared, maybe mentioned like three times total.

I appreciated the trigger warnings at the start.

the kids were fine. Daisy was cute, and I like how the FMC came to become her mom.

I was a bit confused about the MMC 's relationship with his son, coz he shared custody not with the birth mom but rather with a totally separate couple of moms who weren't related to the kid, the birth mom, nor the MMC. I figure this was part of the back story already covered in earlier books, but again as a newbie, it wasn't till maybe midway through that the relationships were cleared up for me.

ARC - review
Straight to the Chapel

Omg can’t wait for this to be out for others to read!!!
I became obsessed with this story so quickly. The sexual tension aghh made me not want to put this book down.

Absolutely loved the complexity and depth to it, enjoyed the few twists and turns I didn’t fully expect from a F1 marriage of convenience romance.
Laughed and swore and cried.
It gave kick your feet and giggle moments and some I really shouldn’t be reading this in public moments.
I fell for the characters and their stories, going to read theirs now (can’t wait for C’s)

I also loved how the characters sexuality was just normalised and slipped in. You knew, but it wasn’t shoved in your face. Just made it feel so normal and comfortable.
Also loved the sprinkle of the female in dominated sports politics, Mentions of the difference and also support and admiration and respect from the male f1 drivers

This will be available 22nd Feb.

✨ARC REVIEW ✨

After reading all of the other pit stop series I knew this would be just as amazing and boy I was not wrong! It’s absolutely fantastic and I cannot wait for everyone else to be able to read this! A total gem!

I came in to this book as not James’ number one fan and now I absolutely love the character- totally fell for him!

I loved the angst, stubbornness, drama, desire, the protectiveness of one another and my god the love for each other’s children was just perfection!

Some of the many things Ive adored about this book are the marriage of convenience trope, the found family, the representation of diversity, the inclusion of cultural notes and the inclusion of powerful and meaningful female character’s in a male dominated field that is formula 1.

I could not recommend this book anymore, along with the rest of the series 5/5 and the quote “A shining bright light in a pitch-black galaxy” could not sum it up any better ✨💕

Thank you Bridget 💕

Arc Review:

James! I thought I could never love this character until I read this book and now I want more.

After Nevaeh and Valentina, Estrella has to be my favourite. Taking in her niece and taking care of her as her own daughter is not an easy job especially with Daisy’s grandparents being the way they were.

I personally couldn’t stop laughing when reading about James and Estrella’s first encounter, mainly because I was imagining his inspiration (Max) acting like that.

From an arranged marriage to actual love it was a rollercoaster and I was scared when Estrella wanted space, I thought she would reject James.

Also James became the world champion finally! It was hard but he did it, and the best thing was that his newfound family were all there.

The part I loved the most has to be when James put Daisy’s grandparents in their place and had the whole gang there.

🌶️🌶️🌶️

So this was the first book I’ve read by Bridget and I was not disappointed. I honestly didn’t realize how far into the series this was until I was about halfway through 🙈

What’s not to love about this book? First all of the found family. I loved how everyone in this book were friends and even when they had little fights they got over it by communicating.

I also love, love, love a misunderstood MMC. James took the fake marriage concept and absolutely ran with him. The way her jumped in and took care of daisy was my favorite family related part.

The best parts were absolutely the spicy scenes. Holy cow, James is so so bossy and I’m absolutely here for it. Estrella is a lucky girl.

I’m not going to lie, before this book i was James’ number 1 hater. That has now changed. Bridget has made me a changed woman, who now crushes on blonde men. The romance is obviously amazing in this book, but the parts that really stood out to me were the scenes showing all of the women coming together and unconditionally supporting each other. I feel like nowadays in media, women friendships are always shown as ‘best friends who are always caddy to each but they still love each other’ and i hate that. i want to see strong, supportive, healthy women friendships and i get that reading Bridget’s books. sometimes i’ll be reading one of these scenes and wish that i could be apart of the friend group.

Ok so. This is a DNF series for me. I really enjoyed books 1 and 2. However, the novella that goes with book 1? didn't like it. Book 3? DNF. Book 4 was part of the duology for book 3, so skipped that, and as much as it pained me I skipped 5 & 6 as they were another duology (even if they are inspired by my favourite driver) and went straight to this as I figured it's an all in and I really like the other 2 books that were like that. This was a struggle. I LOVE how she writes steam. Her intense couple tension scenes are great. It's the pacing and the plot in between that I'm just so not into.
I actually thought I was heading into another slump, then I picked up a different book to read along side this and finished it in a day, so it was the book for me, not a slump (thank fudge!)

I was really missing f1 so this book came at the perfect time!
Straight to the chapel in the Pitstop series can be read as a standalone and interconnected, a lot of the other drivers from the series make appearances and are woven into the story too giving it a lot of that found family feel. The main characters have a marriage of convenience and go from dislike to lovers. I love how the mmc develops in this book on a journey with his childhood trauma to becoming such a great dad and the fmcs journey with grief to balancing motherhood with her wants and dreams.
Ps I’m a Carlos girlie 🌶️

ARC REVIEW

I was apprehensive to pick this one up as it as tropes I am not usually inclined to picking up, including single parents. However, James falls first and hard and from then on, I was thrown into this enemies-to-lovers romance in the world of high-stakes Formula 1 racing.
This was my first introduction to the Pitstop series, and I am definitely intrigued to read more from this series with my F1 obsession!

I am excited to explore more from Bridget!

this was so cute

So I’m gonna need someone to tell me why this book was as cute as it was. Yes it deals with the loss of a family member and childhood emotional abuse, but even with that it doesn’t give the book a deep heavy feeling, it’s dealt with and it’s spoken about plainly and clearly, but it doesn’t bring the weight of it down, if that makes sense

It’s also such a god example of why marriage of convenience is always a good little comfort trope, for me
