Hoarding Henny Wiley returns in the highly anticipated sequel to Dumpster Dying!
Henny Wiley isn’t just a collector, she’s a hoarder. And her collection, er, hoard, keeps growing—and attracting all the wrong attention. Her nosy neighbor, her family, the sheriff, and Adult Services are all putting on the pressure for her to clean up her property—but she ain’t cleaning without a fight!
However, her dumpster cache is the least of her concerns when her no-good rotten-to-the-core brother, Cash Cooper, shows up on her crowded doorstep. Wherever Cash appears, trouble is sure to follow. Within days of his arrival, Henny's friend dies, jewels go missing, a gun store is robbed, and Henny’s own collection is threatened. Most people in the small town of Plum Springs, Kentucky, are certain Cash is to blame, but Henny isn't convinced. Cash may have always had sticky fingers, but there's no way he’s a murderer! Worse, the sheriff begins to think Henny may be assisting her brother's criminal activities. With the help of her husband, Walter—rather, his ghost—and her sister, Ida Mae, Henny aims to clear her and her brother’s names. That is, if she isn’t killed first!
If you thought Dumpster Dying was a wild ride, the sequel amps up the eccentricity and stakes in the best way possible. Hoarding Henny Wiley delivers cozy mystery flair drenched in Southern sass, offbeat humor, and a protagonist who is equal parts stubborn, sharp, and strangely endearing.
Henny Wiley is a hoot—a hoarder with heart and just enough grit to challenge anyone who threatens her carefully curated chaos.
The supporting cast adds depth and delicious quirk: ghost-husband Walter provides spectral snark, sister Ida Mae is a ride-or-die force, and brother Cash... well, he's a lovable rogue who stirs up mayhem just by breathing.
Plum Springs shines as a character itself—small-town drama bubbles through every scene, thick with suspicion, secrets, and sweet tea.
The mystery unfolds with a steady stream of mischief: murder, missing jewels, and a gun shop heist that makes you wonder if anyone in town is innocent.
😱 Twists and Turns: The plot zigs where you expect it to zag, with layers of emotional tension hidden beneath heaps of literal clutter. The question of Cash's guilt keeps the reader guessing, and Henny's fierce loyalty makes her sleuthing all the more compelling.
😂 Tone and Charm: There’s a sly wink behind every page—a blend of laugh-out-loud antics and touching moments that ground the chaos. The author's voice is whip-smart, never condescending, and deeply familiar for fans of character-driven mysteries.
👻 Bottom Line: Hoarding Henny Wiley is messy in all the right ways: emotionally rich, delightfully overstuffed, and impossible to put down. For cozy mystery lovers with a taste for Southern gothic flair and unfiltered heroines, this one’s a five-alarm hoot.
Henny Wiley has a quirky obsession with hoarding, and her growing dumpster cache has become a real concern. Still, she can’t resist the thrill of her treasure hunts—until one day, she stumbles upon something far darker: her friend’s murder. As the investigation unfolds, suspicion quickly falls on Cash, Henny’s estranged brother who has just returned to Palm Springs. Despite her lingering resentment toward him, Henny finds herself racing against time to prove his innocence before everything spirals out of control. Michelle Bennington delivers a delightful cozy mystery in KILLER CACHE, packed with red herrings and clever twists that kept me guessing right up to the final page. It’s a fun, suspenseful read that I’d highly recommend to anyone who loves a well-crafted cozy mystery.
What a great follow up to the first in the series. I loved the time I spent with Henny and Ida Mae, both of whom are saints for dealing with their brother, Cash. The mystery was interesting in this one and, though I figured out the guilty party early on, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the mystery. What sets this series apart from others is the focus on Henny and her hoarding. I am glad to see that Bennington is slowly tackling the issue, considering Henny’s various hang ups and why it is difficult for her to let go. Looking forward to seeing how this is tackled in subsequent books.
I received a copy from the author for an honest review.

Henny sets out to figure out what going on in Plum Spring. Ida Mae and Walter are back in action pestering Henny to clean up her house. plus the town is breathing down Henny’s neck to clean up her house. The twist and turn keeps you turning the pages.
