Scorching Sienna

Light
When I cry on a stranger's shirt in a club,
I’m not surprised when he haunts my dreams.
He is the first man to make me feel alive since losing my husband.
Then the notes start.
I should be afraid.
But I’m not.
And the things that he does to me.
I feel his obsession in every knowing look, every scorching touch.
When my very bad stalker turns out to be the good one of the two,
he will stop at nothing to be the only one.
To protect me.
His rainbow. His light.

Shadow
Obsession.
It crashes through when I first lay eyes on her.
Rooting itself in my dark heart.
Holding a space in it where no one before has.
My rainbow. My light.
Drawing her into the dark is dangerous, but I must have her.
Little do I know I am not the only one.
But I don’t like to share.
And when I scorch her with my touch, brand her as my own,
there is no going back.
Sometimes, the hero you need is not the one you expect.
But I sure as hell will make anyone who hurts her pay.
And I do.

This is a dual-point-of-view dark romance with a pierced, morally grey antihero, OTT/JP, a stalker who falls first, and a touch-her-and-die vibe with very dark themes. It is a standalone with no cliffhanger and ends with an HEA.

Important This is a dark romance with dark subject matter. My site, has a full list of content warnings. Please take note of these before you proceed.

Character development: ☹️🥲😋😘🥰

The heroine: Sienna - she lost her husband james two years ago from a tumor and is still grieving. While they were married, they had a lot of mutual friends, but since he died, they had faded away, not wanting to hang around someone so sad all the time. Now she only really had one friend, named Gloria, who was such a witch that nobody else wanted to be in her presence longer than they had to. When Gloria talks Sienna into going to a nightclub for the first time in ten years, she agrees, but when they get to the seedy joint, she wishes she hadn’t.

The Hero: Damon - he is a killer; he lives in darkness and has for as far back as he can remember. His mother told him that he was the result of a failed abortion, which pretty much sums up what his life was like as a child. As an adult, he owns multiple businesses, including his most lucrative, a club called Sin, which was one of the hottest spots in town and had different areas, including an exclusive nightclub with a long waiting list to get in, a playroom for taboo events, a high stakes gambling section where international deals were made on what was considered neutral territory and where breaking the club rules could be deadly.

The story: Sienna thought James had been the love of her life and had even thought about ending it all after he died. Her brother caught her in time and talked her into seeing a psychiatrist. Even the psychiatrist told her that she was cutting herself off from the world which wasn’t a good thing. So, she promised her brother, and her psychiatrist that she would accept the next social invitation she got, which happened to be with Gloria. Though all she wants since arriving is to get away from the place and the people. Until she runs into a tall, dark stranger and she suddenly feels something different.

Damon starts stalking Sienna and leaving her little gifts, but it isn’t long before he meets her for real and she ends up having a fascination with him as well. She gets a job at Sin and finds herself fantasizing about Damon and also about the stranger she met in the dingy bar who she thinks is the one leaving her gifts and messages since they started immediately after that night. Damon wants to do very dirty things to the innocent Sienna and there is a ton of sexual tension between the two of them.

It gets super steamy when they finally start to relieve some of that tension. Damon introduces Sienna into the world of BDSM, and she discovers that she has changed from the vanilla girl who married her school sweetheart. I really liked both characters, and I loved how intense and dangerous Damon was, he was fiercely protective of Sienna from the start, and it isn’t long before we learn why he sees himself as such a dark character.

The story is very good, and it surprised me in a way that not many books can do. I thought I would hate what happened, but I just loved how Damon was with Sienna. Sure, he can be a bad guy, he can kill without remorse and even torture when he feels it is necessary, but he is so gentle and understanding with Sienna, and so obviously in love with her that his obsession with her is sweet, not dark in any way.

“I knew this to be what it was because I had lived with the opposite of it for so long: hate.
I suddenly understood why every bad thing had happened to me. Why every moment I had endured that festered and created that hate existed. So that I would recognize its opposite in this very moment.
Love.”

Omg Damon is the perfect anti hero our stalker - ok, Siennas stalker.. has done won my heart over.
This book has just the right amount of build up to keep you devouring every page.
Spoiler...
There are a couple triggers one major one so please be aware that r*pe is a topic and described in detail. If that's an issue I would probably skip this one.
Spoiler two...
No, it's not Damon. You can breathe easy he isn't that kind of stalker. If you're able to overlook said trigger then our favorite bad guy will make good on stealing your heart.
As stalker romance goes this one was fairly tame and sane compared to others I've read recently I would definitely recommend.

Sienna is still getting over losing her husband, when a night out ends with her crying into a strangers shirt. This prompts mysterious gifts arriving at her door, plants, seeds, etc.

What follows is her becoming involved with Damon, and a knock her off her kilter romance, with this deep, dark man. Will her insecurities lead her?

A second stalker is in the midst except this one is not the gift giving person. Will Sienna remain Damon’s light? Or has it been extinguished never to flicker again?

This story takes you through some tumultuous parts, it flows at a great pace, the twists, pain and pleasure, spice, emotions, violence it has it all though I did notice a few errors again a simple proofread would have picked them out, it didn’t take me away from being engrossed in the story 😁

It had so much potential to be great, but it felt underwhelming. I still had fun reading this and did it as a buddyread.

My main problems are:
- So many things happen off-page, that would have been much better suited if they had been on-page.
- A lot of times the story works up to an event, but the event itself is over before you know it and it didnt satisfy me. I went “was that it?” quite often.
Both of the above points could have added a whole lot more story, more depth, more darkness.

It’s classified as a dark stalker romance, but not much actual stalking happened on page in my opinion, so i went into this with very different expectations. I was expecting it to be a lot darker than it was (despite the dark triggers that are actually in there).

Overall it was a fun read though.

I really liked this book!! I've read other books from this author that I also really liked. This book felt more like a dark rom com and I really like it when dark romance books have that vibe. Unfortunately I gave it 3 stars, because it felt like the story had more potential. For me it felt like the story had elements that weren't finished.

Overall I really liked the book and the spice was amazing!!! I'm already looking forward to reading the other books from this author.

There is no doubt that this book will be on my list of favorite books of 2025. I ATE THIS UP.

It already started in the first chapter, where the main character made some comments about something that had me laughing so hard I almost choked. And also after that the book stayed great. It was, in my opinion, really a 'good plot, good story, good characters' situation. And sure, in the basics most stalker romances within the dark romance genre have a lot of similarities, but there were some specific things that stood out to me in this one. (Things I will not list here, because of ✨spoilers✨!)

If you'd like to read about more books I liked, check out my Goodreads profile. I also sometimes post reviews on Instagram and talk about bookish stuff on Threads.

1⭐️ and big fucking dnf
I tried I really fucking tried and made it to 77% into the book but I can’t do this to myself anymore😩
I was really into the premise of the book but I really didn’t like the end result💀almost 80% in and the fmc still isn’t sure if she wants to be with him even tho she “loves him”😃😃😃the whole book was just a lot of back and forth and I also wasn’t the biggest fan of the suprise rape that just happened out of nowhere…
I know this one’s on me bc I always read the trigger warnings and forgot this time, but it wasn’t even bc I felt uncomfortable with the topic more so that it made no sense. Anyway… don’t wanna spend anymore time with the book then I have to. And I don’t say this often but I really don’t recommend this book if you’re looking for a love story

My head

I loved this book. I'm not sure how this author writes the MMC like I imagine in my head. I loved how the MFC wasn't just some dainty flower. Though the repeat of her having a photographic memory did get a little too repetitive, but not enough to turn me away. I would love more from this author because I've become a bit obsessed with her writing. Would absolutely recommend, but read & take the trigger warnings seriously! On to the next!

He was obsessed from the jump! And I fucking loved it!

Not gonna lie it was diffeent from most of the books I read and not because of what it entails dark romance is my shit but how it was written it was like calm then fucked then calm when normally it’s fucked then clam then fucked then calm….does that make sense? Anyway if you know you know if ya don’t you don’t but not the point LOVED IT 🥰

Look I wanted to love this but felt the whole rape thing was unnecessary. The book starts off with sienna being this wide eyed innocent girl mourning the death of her husband. She's into Damon, a stalker who is enamored with her and while I liked him at the beginning, making him this kingpin super rich and polished club owner dude kinda ruined it for me. He's kind of stereotypical and I found the dive bar lurking, hoodie wearing tattooed stalker Damon way more interesting.

The book feels a bit monotonous after she starts working at his club and we're constantly told how hot and alluring Sienna is, but I never really saw that / why everyone was so obsessed with her. Also the whole plot with her getting letters and gifts seemed really downplayed to me, especially since she has NO reaction to all this happening. Like "ah yes strange notes and presents at my home addressed to me, that's cool..." girl what? Sienna is so naive and can't make up her mind on basically anything to the point that it was annoying.

Then there's the smut, It's pretty slow burn with them playing around but never actually doing much and then all of a sudden she's violently raped OUT OF NOWHERE, so much so that she can barely speak and is torn open.... that's not hot at all IMO, and the rest of the book has her being this sad shell of herself and not sure if she loves Damon (who she barely knows and we've barely seen them bond at all) and that made it really hard to get back into the smut / romance of it all.

If you are new to dark romance, I think Scorching Sienna is a good place to start, but please still check trigger warnings.

I love how this book opened up and the intimate first screen (no, it's not what you are thinking) it's a stranger being a shoulder to cry on.

Sienna starts to receive seeds/plants and colourful plant pots, I loved the meaning behind all of this.

Sienna is struggling to find herself after losing her husband. Damon is drawn to Sienna and awakes a curious side of Sienna.

Seeing them both develop and grow was lovely, Damon found love and wants to give Sienna the world. Sienna finds a new side of herself, a more daring and confident side.

Scorching Sienna by Eloise Benjamin 🖤
Dark romance with a dash of mafia, check your trigger warnings before diving in.

One woman. Two stalkers.
One driven by revenge. One by possession.

Watching Damon quietly slip into Sienna’s life, and slowly let his darkness crack open for his “rainbow” had me in a chokehold. Sienna’s growth from shy to fully owning who she is was satisfying, despite what she went through.

Morally gray, touch-her-and-die, unhinged MMC. My kinda guy, Damon...added to book boyfriend list ✅️.

The spice? A pleasure. 🔥😉

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When I picked this book I was thinking it would be a simple dark romance and wouldnt be that involved or deep. Typical stalker tropes and touch her and die vibes. Which it surely had those factors within, but it definitely was way better in plot than I was expecting. It started out as one story and continued to morph into more and more as the pages kept turning. I became so invested in the underlying secret building behind the absolute fire chemistry between Damon and Sienna, and my mind was bouncing all over trying to figure out the mystery laced within the emotional and physical navigation happening for our female lead. The steamy nature of the relationship happening is so well written throughout the main storyline and did not takenover the depth of plot building which I appreciated. A lot of times these books are taken over by the spice and so much is lost or slow in between because that was meant to be the focal regardless, but not this book! This book was so well balanced and had me going up until very end to the point I was worried I was ending on a cliff hanger lol! But have no fear, you do get a very satisfying conclusion.

Sienna is navigating my personal worst fear, loosing her husband. The way this book opens is such an odd experience for me because I feel like I've played that situation out in my head many times and in that exact environment and hear her inner turmoil and trying to process where she's at, why she's there, why she shouldn't be, why she doesn't want to be. Trying to force healing by other people's standards can be suffocating when you are lost in the grief and lost she was until she ran into Damon. Who has more to her next chapter than she realizes.

Damon is one of my newest favorite male leads I think. I love men who just say and do but in ways that hold the spirit of the female to the safest highest regard. There is no guessing for Damon, he knows and he does and he doesn't stop. But he is so sensitive and considerate towards every single facet that Sienna is processing and always puts that first. He is a dark character sure, but he's very grounded in his dark moral compass and the more you learn about him, the more you realize he ways always going to find the end of his rainbow.

This book goes from stalker romance to touch her and die pretty quickly and in ways I wasn't expecting. It got dark for our girl. Really dark. But the way Damon unapologetically takes the reigns and takes care of Sienna is a dedication of soul that is all encompassing. These two navigate so much together and in ways that are so unspoken for a long time, but when it gets there it really gets there and it's all so deeply beautiful with the darkest edges. The heart and center of this story is all light, just like Sienna, but the dichotomy that Damon brings with his darkness is like the comfort of a booming storm. It sound scary but you sleep so calmly in its embrace.

I thought maybe this story would end on a cliff hanger and maybe possibly go into a book two but it just kept on right up until the end. The spice in this book is great but it isn't heavy. There are perfect moments placed throughout in a slow burn type of way but the moments hit so good and there are lots of moments. So have no fear lol! I have no complaints about this book that I can really find. The story is well paced and the plot and spice are well balanced. I was a happy camper!

I love the cover, and I really like the author. I came across her originally when she was promoting another book, on TikTok, which ended up being a 5* read for me. In a genre that I do not usually enjoy. So when I saw her introducing us to this recently, I downloaded it on Kindle Unlimited as well as some of her other titles.

I enjoyed the book, but I didn't love it. I tend to be a mood reader, so not sure if I am just not in the mood for dark romance or have just read too many stalker type books lately. I also found some of the words in the text annoying, like how he called her rainbow constantly. Just a pet peeve of mine, nothing to do with her talent.

“My heart is beating out of my chest, Damon. I don’t think I can do this.”
“Your heart is telling you that you are alive. Don’t be afraid to live.”

I love her writing style and the character development. The plot of the book is also very good. I will definitely be reading more of her work in future and stalking her on TikTok ;)

Are you ready to meet Daddy Damon?
This was an unplanned read, but holy moly, was it fun! The story follows Sienna, an inexperienced widow, and Damon, a mafia businessman with a side hustle of unaliving people and stalking Sienna.

𝙾𝚋𝚜𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗.
𝙳𝚎𝚜𝚒𝚛𝚎.
𝙲𝚞𝚛𝚒𝚘𝚜𝚒𝚝𝚢.
𝙱𝚎𝚠𝚒𝚝𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐.
𝙳𝚘𝚠𝚗𝚛𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝 𝚏𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚕.

This novel gave me serious "You" x Zade Meadows vibes - Damon is morally dark grey, invading her privacy and being completely oblivious to how invasive he is 🤣

𝙼𝚞𝚛𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚖𝚢 𝚙𝚞𝚜𝚜𝚢 𝚠𝚒𝚝𝚑 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚍𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚌𝚒𝚘𝚞𝚜 𝚠𝚎𝚊𝚙𝚘𝚗 𝚘𝚏 𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚒𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚘𝚗𝚕𝚢 𝚜𝚕𝚊𝚞𝚐𝚑𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙸 𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚜𝚎 𝚘𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚜 𝚝𝚘𝚗𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝.

He is protective, fierce, and very HOT! Damon supports Sienna on a journey of self-discovery, understanding her wants and needs, all whilst making me 🥵

“𝙲𝚊𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚏𝚎𝚎𝚕 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝, 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚋𝚘𝚠, 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚎𝚍𝚐𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚍𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚛𝚒𝚞𝚖? 𝚃𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚒𝚜 𝚑𝚘𝚠 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚖𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚖𝚎 𝚏𝚎𝚎𝚕. 𝙲𝚛𝚊𝚣𝚢.”

And a morally grey anti-hero with a tattoo for her? I would take Daddy Damon any day! (This story is microtrope heaven, I promise!)

Whilst the plot was engaging and the banter made me laugh so hard, the subplot could have been more prominent. I didn't really realise there were two stalkers until later on - maybe I was too distracted by Damon's 🍆.

“𝚆𝚎 𝚠𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚏𝚒𝚝, 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚋𝚘𝚠. 𝚆𝚎 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚎 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚒𝚗 𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚊𝚜𝚙𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚜. 𝚃𝚛𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝚖𝚎.”

Also, after such detailed character development throughout the book, I felt the ending was a bit rushed - especially when making the effort to get a special someone to hurt someone hehe.

Despite this being the author's first venture into dark romance, I am eager for more. Here's hoping she writes more, because I am here for it!

Touch Her and ☠️

Oh my gosh! I absolutely enjoyed every word in this book. The spice was a 5 for sure. Sienna lost her husband and moving on and living was hard for her. She didn't have many friends and she lost her way of living when she lost the love of her life. Damon is dark but safe. He begins an obsession over Sienna. She brought the light to his world and he would have Sienna. Damon is a whole lot of a man. He is dark dangerous sexy and poetic. How can you go wrong with all that. Sienna finds her way into truly being herself and loving again with Damon. They are the perfect couple. Read triggers as there are some parts where they may be sensitive to some. I definitely recommend this book if you love touch her and ☠️, mafia, obsession, stalking, and 5 jalapenos!

If your Kindle could blush, Scorching Sienna would be the reason why. 🔥

This book is pure slow-burn magic with just enough sparks to keep you flipping pages way past your bedtime. Eloise Benjamin serves up a heroine in Sienna who is equal parts fire and vulnerability, the kind of character you want to shake and hug in the same chapter.
The chemistry? Off the charts. Not the instant, eye-roll kind, but the simmering, “did that just happen?” tension that creeps up on you like a heatwave. The love interest brings just enough charm and complication to keep things interesting without tipping into cliché territory

First of all the cover doesn’t match the story. So don’t judge a book by its cover lol. The plot was refreshing and mysterious. Definitely kept me on my toes. Check TWs.

There are a couple of cringey moments but they didn’t deter from the over all plot.

If I can’t have a guy like Damon obsessed over me then I don’t want him!
