Treyson “Biggs” Pierce is a 32-year-old kingpin; that runs the city of Kingsville with an iron fist. Everyone who’s encountered him knows that he prides himself on two things; asserting his dominance in the streets and living the bachelor life until the day he dies. When many unforeseeable events begin to take place leading towards Christmas, he finds himself realizing that the only woman who could possibly take him off the market is right in front of him.
Marlena Brewer is a gorgeous, intelligent, kindhearted woman who prides herself on being family oriented and affectionate to her loved ones. For as long as she can remember, she’s been in love with Biggs and is willing to pursue things with him. However, there’s one problem; he’s her twin brother’s best friend. Not wanting to get in the middle of their bond, she decides to keep her feelings for him at bay. Yet, it’s easier said than done.
Will Marlena receive a Christmas miracle and spark a romance with the man she’s in love with, or will she decide to take her feelings to the grave? Find out in this holiday novella, Wrapped in A KingsVille Menace this Christmas!
Wrapped Up In A Kingsville Menace: This Christmas is one of those stories that leans into attraction, timing, and the quiet tension that builds when feelings are held back for too long. From the start, the story pulls you into Treyson “Biggs” Pierce’s world, a man known and feared in Kingsville, respected in the streets, and emotionally guarded with everyone he deals with. Biggs moves with intention, keeps his expectations clear, and avoids commitment at all costs, until one connection forces him to confront feelings he never planned on catching.
That connection is Marlena Brewer, the youngest of three, raised by her older sister after their mother disappeared years ago. Sheltered compared to her siblings, Marlena has never truly experienced love, but she has always noticed Biggs from a distance. Her restraint, loyalty, and quiet curiosity create a sharp contrast to Biggs’ reputation and emotional walls, making their dynamic feel both risky and inevitable. The family history and unspoken boundaries add tension, grounding their relationship in real consequences rather than fantasy.
From a craft standpoint, the book could have benefited from another editing pass, and the ending wrapped up quicker than expected, leaving certain emotional beats feeling rushed. Some moments, especially around forgiveness, could have been explored more deeply. Still, the foundation of the story is solid. Nate McGuire deserves respect for putting pen to paper and sharing his voice. There is clear potential here, and I’m looking forward to seeing how his writing continues to grow with future releases.
At first it was so good, but then after the club scene a few things was not clear. Like the oldest sister told her brother Breezy that she was 17 when she dated his friend and got pregnant, then she stated she’s five years older than him. So how old was her brother’s friend? 12 or 17? She also stated that the friend cheated on her and slept with a teacher so he was 12 yo sleeping with a teacher and sleeping with a 17 yo or 17 sleeping with a teacher? I would love to get some answers.
I enjoyed this story. However, I wanted more. I felt as if Biggs and Marlena's story was rushed. I loved that we got to know the siblings and how Biggs was in the streets. You could feel the chemistry these two had off the pages. I thought Marlena was gonna end up with the neighbor because of how he approached her. I was glad Biggs and Marlena got together, especially when her twin brother was against her dating his friend. The family reunion at the end was beautiful. I just wanted more time with these characters. I'm hoping to see stories on the sisters and the brother.
There’s so much I’ve enjoyed about the book. I truly enjoyed the sibling relationship and their dynamics. Biggs was definitely a menace in the way he handled business. I love how Biggs and Marlena were able to vibe and create a bond quickly, and they both knew what they wanted. It’s not easy turning a menace into a relationship guy, and Marlena came right in and claimed his heart.
I enjoy Xmas novellas but I couldn't really get into this one, it was somewhat confusing in certain parts, but towards the end I somewhat figured out the direction the author was going in.
I love Marlena and Treyson. This was a beautiful story. I am so happy that they finally admitted their feelings for each other. I hope their future remains bright. Great Read!
The best gift during Christmas season is one money can’t buy and sometime right in front of you but if you don’t speak up or be open to what life has to offer you just might miss the one thing you want on Santa list
This author never disappoints! With Nate, you’re going to get some romance and a lotta unaliving. I loved this novella, and it had me wanting more. Treyson is that GUY!
This story had great potential but lots of grammatical errors, plot holes, and dialogue that fell flat. However, I would read more of this author’s work, you get better at writing by writing more and more.
This story was really good! Hood antics, forgiveness, the story line was top tier too! Nate crafted a really good story here and I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.
This was a cute little story! I'm glad when Marlena finally got her alone time with Treyson she didn't hold back and got her man. I am also glad her and her siblings decided to forgive their mom. Life is too short!!
This is like the fifth or sixth book in this series, and it’s like the editing gets worse than the book before. Then it’s like once they got to their Aunts house, everything after that felt rushed. Like their mom disappeared for over 20 years and boom she’s back, and all is forgiving🤔? Like yeah, she apologized, but come one now, there was no real conversation. They didn’t really speak their grievances. Where has she been all these years🤔? Why did she decide to come back now🤔? I’m like Marlena, is she sick or something 🤔? There are so many unanswered questions, but maybe that’s just me🤷🏽♀️
The story was good ,but I felt like it could have been more between Biggs and Marlena. Towards the beginning it was kind of like Biggs would mess with any pretty woman walking.
Great ending to this story. I would've like to know how her family felt about her new relationship. I guess at best just assume the best for all of them.
