Sitting around a table sharing drinks and V-card stories is not how I wanted to spend my night. I swore I'd never tell anyone how I lost mine, but there's no way my hockey bros are gonna let me stay silent…
Meet the men of Nolan U's Hockey House in these four steamy V-card stories from spicy to sweet. Perfect for fans of Elle Kennedy's Off-Campus series.
★★★★ "After reading Hockey House V-Cards by Katy Archer, which was most definitely an enjoyable read... especially when it came to how entertaining it was, given the hilarious moments that had you LOL’ing... it's safe to say Katy Archer not only has won me over as a reader, but also has me excited for more to come from Nolan U series." Hockey House V-Cardsby Katy Archer is the prequel fromNolan Useries.
This novella may have been split into fours shorts following four friends/hockey teammates consisting of Ethan Galloway aka The Sex God, Liam Carlisle aka The Best Friend, Casey Pierce aka The Man Slut and Asher ‘Ash’ aka Mr. Cougar Town. But given that each story continued on from the previous with being one after another, it's what resulted in the interconnected narrative coming across as one story overall, especially once all was said and done.
The mini stories that Katy treated us to through each of the guys POVs inHockey House V-Cardsgave us a look into each of them. Allowing a sneak peek into their lives as well as the type of people they are and were once upon a time. As well as giving a sort of preview for what's to possibly come from each of the books withinNolan Useries.

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
It is hard for me to rate novellas higher since they are on the shorter side, but I really enjoyed this. It gave us a brief glimpse at each of the male leads of this brand new college hockey romance series. I honestly can’t tell which one of them will be my favorite. They all had something that intrigued me and I can’t wait to see who will capture their hearts🙈There was a lot of humour and steam in this prequel and it made me super excited to read the first book of the series. If you love the Off-Campus series, you should definitely consider reading this!
Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This is a prequel novella to a new series by Katy Archer. It’s split into four parts telling the story of 4 hockey players and how they lost there VCards. These all mingle together perfectly into one story. It’s definitely an interesting way to introduce the characters. Ethan and Liam are friends from high school who had tough childhoods. They came to Nolan U and are now living in a six bedroom house with a few other guys from the team. Asher and Ethan have an interesting friendship going on; more like a love hate relationship. Then there’s Casey who is intriguing because of his tattoos. I’m excited to read more about these guys and the women they end up finding.
This is a fun prequel that introduces us to four of the guys of Nolan U Hockey. Each story was entertaining and kept me engaged. I really enjoyed each story as we got to know the guys a little bit better, both individually and as a team. I'm eagerly awaiting their full stories in the future because I would love to see these guys fall for their special someone. If you're looking for a quick, fun, and spicy afternoon read than look no further. This one will keep you entertained!
This little read gives you great insight into the hockey house boy's characters and their backgrounds. Giving characters we hardly know so much depth already. I cannot wait to read all of their stories - especially Liam's! Don't let the quirky title & fun blurb fool you - this is so much more than that! I've found a new fave author! Absolutely devoured this book!
I'm not a big fan of sports and sports books, but I loved this book and the glimpse into these young mens lives. I will definitely be reading this series and enjoying every word, of that I'm sure. I highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
The guys all raise their arms with a loud whoop. "Puck yeah!" I join them, and we holler, "Puck yeah!" a few more times before Baxter shuffles in and tells us to keep it down.
Don't be discouraged by 3 stars... for me that means I enjoyed it - novellas due to their length tend to be slightly lower on the ratings scale. 3 stars for a novella for me is really rather good :)
Super fun, rather intriguing, full of fictional hockey guys and spice
Thank you so much to Katy Archer’s team for allowing me early access to this super fast-paced, but very intriguing novella. Like Elle Kennedy’s ‘The Legacy’ Archer’s prequel novella Hockey House V-Cards’ is split in four parts as we join the Nolan U Hockey House Boys Ethan, Liam, Casey and Archer in a night reminiscing when they lost their V-Cards. I particularly enjoyed Ethan, Liam and Casey’s stories as there is clearly a lot of back story there that I sincerely hope when their individual books are released next year. For fans of series such as the ‘Off Campus’’, Briar U’ or ‘UCMH’ (Icebreaker by Hannah Grace universe) who enjoy the strong friendships with MMCs I think the Nolan U series should be added to your TBRs! Book 1, ‘The Forbidden Freshman’ we meet again with Ethan which I am very much looking forward to! For those of you who can’t wait to start the series and want to start to get an idea of the guys, I’d definitely recommend it :)
I knew this novela was going to be good but I never imagined the ways that these hockey guys lost their V- cards I cannot wait for all these books. I think Liams book is going to be the one to break me. Ashers is going to be the one I just can't wait to get too, Casey's is going to be a funny one, and Ethan is going to be the one I'm going to obsess over! I can't wait to see what Katy has in store for these boys! <3
This was a fun story. It is an introduction to the hockey guys for the Nolan U hockey series and I really enjoyed it. We get 4 different sections, each told by one of the men, of how they lost their virginity as they are sitting around hanging out in the house they share. They all have pretty different stories and it gives us some insight into each of the guys. The stories were hot and interesting and I am super excited for all of them to find the right one for them. This was a great way to start getting to know the guys and what they have going on. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Thank you so much to Katy Archer's team for allowing me to have an ARC for Hockey House V-Cards in exchange for an honest review!
This novella is a prequel to The Forbidden Freshman; It is split into 4 sections where we get to meet the 4 MMCs for the Nolan U Hockey Series. I think this was a fun way to meet Ethan, Liam, Casey and Asher and gives us an insight into what we should expect from the rest of the series.
Personally I find it difficult to connect with characters within a novella as they are so short but fast paced, hence why I have only rated this 3 stars. I still found this a fun and easy read and I'm excited to read more from Katy Archer!
This preview story has their back stories, going back a few years to teens. Their readiness to go further with girls but all holding their V cards. Each of them show their vulnerability, their awkwardness and amusing first times. Their lives are real and flawed, parents sick, or abusive or controlling. Their lives are not perfect but they are all destined to find their own way in life.
I'm looking forward to knowing these characters in depth.
This prequel novella is not only a fun introduction to each of Nolan U’s Hockey House hunks, it also gives a pretty good idea what to expect from this series. I enjoyed getting to know each of the guys in their individual stories and getting a glimpse into their personalities. Plus, I enjoyed the banter and all the ribbing and the camaraderie among the guys.
And what can I say? I already like them, and I’ll be cheering them on when they finally get to meet the ladies who are going to steal their hearts.
The perfect way to get sucked into Nolan U Hockey.
The perfect prequel to not only get you excited for the upcoming release but the entire series all in one go. The entire thing was really well written and gives you the perfect glimpse into all of the upcoming MMC’s of the Nolan U lineup. I honestly couldn’t tell you who I’m excited to read about more. It gives you an idea of the characters individually and the team dynamics are touched on. If you’re a fan of college sports romance novels this one’s for you :)
The prequel to The Forbidden Freshman, this book gives insight to four of the main Hockey House boys, and what leads up to the bet that kicks off the upcoming standalone novel. It was neat to meet Ethan, Liam, Casey, and Asher, and to see their different personalities and backgrounds. You get a little bit of each guy’s history, as well as what is going on with each of them present day. They also discuss how old they were and the experiences they had when they lost their virginity.
I absolutely loved this prequel novella, it is the perfect set up for a series about four guys and their love stories. This prequel has each guy: Ethan, Liam, Casey, and Asher giving their backstory on how they each lost their V-cards. The spice was so good and the banter between the guys was perfect. I read this in one sitting and instantly was hooked and ready for the first book, Ethan’s, to come out! I can’t wait for more from Katy Archer!!
This was super enjoyable. This book gives you more than a tease of this new series: it actually gives you a very satisfying taste that will leave you very eager to return and dive deeper. I loved that it gives you a broad overview and sets up the first book, while not only introducing you to all the guys and actually getting to know them. I'm really excited to continue this series.
I really liked this introduction into four of the guys from Nolan U by way if them sharing thier recollections of their first times. All four guys are distinctive and have varying feelings towards their first times. Each story is 9 or 10 chapters and has an easy, light flow, perfect to dip in and out of easily.
I enjoyed this book! I loved being able to see all four different stories and getting a sneak peek into the start of each of their stories. Each of their stories are unique in their own way and make me want more after each story is finished. I can't wait to read the next book when it comes out!
I really enjoyed this introduction of the Hockey Boys! Even though each story was short, the characters were well written and the pacing of each story was just right. I am excited to read more about each guy and meet the girls who will make them fall.
I absolutely enjoyed this prequel novella. It’s a perfect introduction for the hockey guys of Nolan U Hockey Series. Loved their stories of how they lost their V cards. You really get to know the characters. Can’t wait for their love stories.
This is such an awesome and original way to introduce a brand new series and get to meet the MC's. I honestly can't wait for book 1 to release. So much so, I'm about to try and hunt down an arc.
