I originally had this book when my daughter was very young. We acquired this book in 2009, when my daughter was about 1.5 years old. We actually came across it when we were attending an ASL class for young toddlers, and the kids used this book to sign with. My child is now 18, and to this day, I still recall that the majority of the book was made up of words. The story and its meaning are wonderful. It overall teaches you to love yourself no matter what, and while you may be different from everybody else, you are special. So I now give this book to anyone I know who is a new parent. The book was republished in 2022 and is now a bit more compact. The artwork and touch-and-feel parts differ from the original version, but the story remains the same. We have a copy for nostalgia purposes, and if my child decides to become a parent one day, I hope I can read the story to them. Excuse me while I go figure out who is cutting the onions.
