Simone finally gets to tell her story! Yaaaassss!!! When we last saw Simone, she was sick and tired of everyone treating her like the villain so, she dropped poor Serenity off with her dad and dipped. Sometime has passed and Simone does what she does best. Find a man to lay up under but, when she catches her new boo creepin’, she’s had enough. Simone is tired of not being chosen, she’s tired of not being treated like a queen, and she’s tired of not being loved. Being the drama queen that she is, Simonne takes drastic steps to alleviate her pain but, little does she know, those drastic steps are going to give her the answers she’s been longing for. I knew my girl had it in her. I’ve been rootin’ for Simone since Carried Away and I knew, with the right motivation, she would persevere. Even though no one thought she deserved it, especially Truce, everyone gave her another chance to prove she could do right by all of her kids. I love a good redemption story and my girl Simone really redeemed herself just in time for the holiday season.

I can’t tell you how happy I was to see Justice’s growth and finally learn about Simone’s backstory. I hope she continues to receive the help she deserves.

It brought tears to my eyes when Simone and Truce finally talked. It was wayyyyy overdue!

I'm glad I kept rooting for Simone!

Now *this* is how you write a redemption arc for a controversial character this is what I like to read! For a minute, I wasn’t feeling this family, I’m not going to lie. I liked all the kids, but I couldn’t and still won’t get with Wise. And Chicago? He was just okay for me. Neither of their books added depth or really gave me insight into the inner workings of each man, so I kind of gave up on the gang.

That’s why I’m so happy we finally got to see Simone in a better light and figure out what was really going on with her. That said, I am so disappointed in her mother especially because she knew her sister was mentally unwell. To just disregard your child and keep that a secret? Yeah, she’s on my list. I really appreciate that the author kept it real, though, and didn’t turn this into some holly-jolly, magical moment where everyone suddenly forgives Simone. She’s a work in progress, and her growth is slow and steady, but I’m happy she’s on her way.

I do find it interesting that we didn’t get more from Granny. While the voices were clearly triggering for Simone, who’s to say Truce wasn’t treated better? Who’s to say Granny didn’t favor her “normal” grandson over her “difficult and unruly” daughter? Especially since, let’s be real, all that woman had to offer were a few scriptures and a warm bed for the babies her daughter kept popping out.

Some of my gripes include how everyone had so much anger and hate for Simone while allowing Wise a pimp who exploited an underage girl *and* attempted to rape her to redeem himself with some weak “dog-eat-dog world survival” speech. And let’s not forget how these two are supposedly running the city, the “big steppers,” yet no one ever laid eyes on them kids until they were practically 600 years old. Like, *please.*

Overall, I think this was a great holiday tie-in to conclude the series and tie up loose ends. I’d love to see a novella or novelette about Simone’s continued progress, but even if we never get that, I’m satisfied with how this journey ended. Natisha, you *ate* this one, for real. Definitely put some extra power into that pen!

The treacherous crew are really some of my favs! Each book gets better & Simone’s story did not disappoint!

Simone is by far my least favorite person in the series 😭 she’s unhinged to say the least but why that being said this book did help me to understand why she is the way she is & really explained a lot of her previous actions!! You get to see a more in depth look at exactly what was causing her to be so distant & unstable. I actually understand her much more after reading this book!

Chicago & Ireland were just too cute!!! I really enjoyed seeing the growth within their relationship! To see them go from not wanting a committed relationship at all to being so deeply in love & starting a family of their own was everything!!

The triplets, Kadifi & their ladies are still going strong!

Justice & Lauren made me love them even more in this series! The way they came together & loved on Demin was so heartwarming!

This book gave me all the feels 🥰 I’m counting down to see what happens next in Winter’s story!!

This was really fucked up. How tf did you have Ireland father walk her down the isle when he died a few days after her mother did hence the whole reason she was a hypochondriac and scared of dying and being in a relationship. How tf could such a big part of her and Chicago story be forgotten like that.🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

TREACHEROUS CREW

I love this series. Great holiday followup on the men, their wives/girlfriends, and the abundance of children that have expanded this family tremendously. Although the family dynamic will have you shocked and in disbelief, I love how everyone embraced each other as if time was not lost amongst them. Simone may not have been at her best as a parent, but I loved to see her growth and the steps she took to finally get the help she needed to be better for Serenity and to get closer to her sons and grandchildren. Can't wait for Winter's story.

Mmmmmm….I feel bad for Simone but at the same time, like she stated once she was grown she could’ve found the help she needed. But better late than never I suppose.

Justice and Lauren are my favorites. I just love how they stepped up for Denim. Alana though…that chick was wild. She had to have known better.

What a very merry Christmas it was.

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

This series had me in a chokehold. I was so sad on book six but book seven, omg. Alana and her shenanigans and the way Wise and Chicago handled business was ruthless. She deserved it. Now the part that had me in the chokehold was Truce and Simone at the counseling session and shortly thereafter. Their conversation at the car had me crying like a baby. They both needed that. I need another book from this series so I’m waiting for the next one.

Ok now on to the next preview at the end… I need to know the name again. That book was good. New book author favorite and must by the paperback copies. Wise and Chicago, along with Capri are added to my book husband lists❤️❤️

Family!!

Family will stand 10 toes down for each other! Mental illness is very real and should never be ignored but addressed as soon as possible! Children should never be involved in adult mess! Let’s chat!

There was so much happening in this read but one thing for sure it was all FAMILY! Then there’s the way these men are loving on their women! Babe 🥰🥰! First let me talk about Chicago and Ireland! The way they loved each other was 🔥! The way this man went into action when that water broke 🤏🏾🤏🏾! He spared no expense to make sure Ireland and Brooklyn was taken care of with NO stress! Then can I say the surprise he had for her once home! I had to shed a couple of tears 🥹 because it was everything! Ya boy didn’t disappoint!

Wise & Natalie, all I have to say is I love their relationship 🥰. For the short time these 2 know each other like the back of their hands. The way Wise steps up to make Natalie is stress free and his child is well provide for. The two of them chemistry is out of this world! The other know what the other needs without asking! Oh and the wedding - 🥰🥰! These two were made for each other in my opinion! Oh and the way this man has redeemed himself 🤏🏾🤏🏾..

Justice & Lauren, listen these two here lives off each other. If Justice is rocking, Lauren is rolling with no question asked! Justice is that 🥷🏽 but when it comes to misstated kids, his soft as butter! Finding out Denim story touched his heart and the way he came behind him had me teary eyed 🥹! Then the steps he’s willing to protect foster children 🥰! I love the fact he has and ever will forget where him & Loyal came from or the struggles they faced!!

Now my man Truce!!! I’m so proud of this man! It took a minute and I understood completely, but the way he allowed that wall for fall just a little bit 🥰! This man plays no games and not about to let you play with him or family! Despite his dislike for Simone he was willing to learn and I loved that 🥰!

To close it out, can’t forget how Wise & Chicago came about they mama! Listen, the way I was shouting 🫣🤣! Family is and means EVERYTHING - lease stop playing with them🫶🏽! Then to learn who was behind it, I was beyond speechless 😳! Now it’s time to see what my girl Winter got going on cause look with all them men in her family 🫣!

A Treacherous Christmas by Natisha Raynor was the perfect little treat for fans of the Treacherous Twins series! Even though this novella was short, it packed a punch and gave us all the updates we didn’t know we needed.
The main storyline focused on Simone and what happened after she left Serenity with her father and vanished. Let me tell you, Simone’s choices didn’t sit well with anyone, and most of the relationships she had with the other characters were strained. But the love and care they all had for Serenity? That was beautiful to see. No matter how messy things got, they showed up for that little girl.
On top of Simone’s journey, we got glimpses into everyone else’s lives. Chicago and Ireland welcomed their baby, which was such a sweet moment. Justice had a powerful encounter with a homeless child that helped him realize his true purpose, and Truce finally started to overcome the trauma that had haunted him for so long. It was heartwarming to see these characters growing and healing, even after all the chaos we’ve watched them go through.
Even though it was only 102 pages, this novella pulled me right back into the Treacherous world. It reminded me why I loved these characters (even the ones I couldn’t stand sometimes). And while it wasn’t long, it had everything—a little drama, a lot of heart, and a deeper look at Simone’s path as she found her way back.
It’s the kind of book that feels like catching up with family (the messy, dramatic kind, of course). Natisha Raynor really gave us the perfect little holiday bonus with this one!

Treacherous Novella

As someone who read all the books in this series, I eagerly read this novella. There was a lot of events to make this read worthwhile. However, I didn’t appreciate the direction the author took with Simone. The author did an excellent job with her chosen direction. Destigmatizing mental illness in the black community and normalizing the importance of getting treatment is definitely a worthy topic. However, I would have rather the lesson be that it is acceptable to safeguard your peace and not feel guilty or obligated to let toxic relatives continue to have access to you. There are far too many relatives that commit horrible acts and adversely impact lives and everyone acts forgiveness should be automatically given simply on the strength that's your mother, father, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, grandma, grandpa , or cousin then try. Some relatives can be worse than an enemy with the added fuel of jealousy, revenge, greedy, entitlement, and familial obligation.

Somethings are simply unforgivable. Selling 2 of the triplets is on my list of unforgivable acts. The voices didn’t say sell your children. I would have preferred another character carried the valuable messages about mental health and the importance of familial support that Simone is reaping.

Finally, Simone✊🏾💪🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤞🏾

Ok so I wasn’t a complete fan of Simone in the beginning because she had all them kids (Kadafi, Truce, Loyal, Justice, and Serenity) and you chose not to want to be a mother and on top of that wanted to play victim and have the same relationship that they boys had with Wise and Chicago…yeah, she was trippin for real. All in all, I’m glad that she finally got the help that she so desperately needed and I pray that she continues on the path of reconciliation with Truce and herself.

I was so proud of Truce for doing his research on Simone’s illness and showing up to her therapy appointment to hear her out. Truce, I think, will come around and forgive Simone for the error of her ways just as long as Simone stays on the straight and narrow.

Changing gears, I love that all the characters were developing and prospering into greatness. I’m certainly glad that Mr. Chicago is not rummaging through different women, and I’m glad that Wise didn’t let his ex-wife stop him from being in love again.

This book caught us up on all their lives. It was a good quick update and read.

WTH? lol now I’m not strict on grammar but forgetting the plot is crazy. So in previous book we read

And that was saying a lot, because she was something like a hypochondriac. Losing a mother to sickle cell and a father to cancer had Ireland extremely paranoid.

Then in this book : When her father appeared from around a corner dressed in a black suit ready to walk her down the aisle, Ireland couldn’t stop the tears from forming. Her twin ran to the rescue and fanned her face. The women laughed, and Ireland hugged her father as the women rushed to enter the room. Ireland stood back. She could hear music playing, and she was still in awe that it was her wedding day. When they got the cue, hotel staff opened the double doors. Looping her arm through her father’s Ireland’s heart continued to drum in her chest as they prepared to walk down the aisle.

Also the abrupt endings are annoying. Then just randomly give us a sneak peak of another book just through me off.

Outside of that I enjoyed the other characters and closure that was needed.

Was this novella a placeholder to appease fans during Christmas 2024?

The errors were pervasive throughout the novella. For instance, Irlend’s parents were previously established as deceased, yet her mother suddenly appears in the hospital, and her father is shown walking her down the aisle. Similarly, Truce, Wise, Loyal, Winter, and the rest of the group are depicted together at their mother’s house, even though the majority of them are her grandchildren. These are just a few of the more glaring continuity and characterization errors, not to mention the numerous grammatical mistakes.

The author attempted to provide closure between Simone and Truce, but it felt rushed and unearned, relying heavily on Ghost of Christmas Past–style references rather than meaningful development. Overall, the story lacked depth and cohesion. It comes across as fluff—disjointed, with little narrative fluidity.

Tis The Season!!

Chicago surprised Ireland with a wedding since Brooklyn has his last name why shouldn't Ireland. Chicago gave everything Ireland could want and need. Alana has got to be the stupidest woman on the planet. She should have known once they got caught, they were going to tell Wise everything they know even though he promised to kill them. She set herself up for failure. Don’t nobody mess with Mama Glo I like that Truce researched schizophrenia for his own purposes. And I like that he came to therapy so he could get his own clarification. Justice has a soft spot for kids because he sees himself and his brother in them. Justice and Lauren just should go adopt Denim. I

Let love lead the way

I absolutely LOVE how no matter how hard core and tough these men wanna be they’re putty for the women they love and those babies!! It truly warms my heart heart knowing that those men will put it all on the line for the women they love and kids are off limits !! No matter who birthed them. Mama Glo.. the empath in me truly got teary eyed.. I hated that for her .. I could legit feel my granny pain all over again.. well written but sis it was HARD!! Overall you did your big one though. It was such a cute mini story but you know I need more !! 2024 catalog was fire so I’m intrigued to see what heat you’re bringing for this year. 2025 , are we even fully prepared?

dropped the ball again when the potential was right there…

I continue reading this series because I truly love the characters and the complexities of their whole relationships. What annoys tf out of me are the errors, inconsistencies and abrupt endings. How tf did Ireland’s dad walk her down the aisle when he’s up in heaven? Her parents being dead was behind her whole storyline of not wanting to commit and being a hypochondriac.

And how do you just end the book randomly like that and give a whole chapter sneak peek of a new book? I loved that Simone was able to get her story and how it addressed mental health but this was sloppy.

Also, why no updates on Kadafi’s relationship? We haven’t heard a peep about his girlfriend or his kids since his book.

I Still Don’t Like Simone

I enjoyed this Christmas update of the Treacherous crew and their families. Even though we got to see Simone in more depth and that she was battling mental illness issues I still haven’t thawed all the way out towards her yet. For a while I was thinking that Denim was another one of children that she had given away. It’s sad at Denim’s young age what he had to go through being placed in horrific foster homes of people who just wanted a check while neglecting and abusing him. I’m glad that Justice saw himself and Loyal when he saw Denim and took him in. I can’t wait to see what happens next with Winter’s book.

Okay Mama is finally in business!!!

As Simone finally figure out it either live or die so thought it was maybe too late but someone finally sees her and hears her for the first time! she has a very long road to go, but if anyone is going to give her a chance, I think it might be Kadafi first? Truce is so back-and-forth and I think torn because his mother was never there. So as I said, she has a long way to go. There are so many factors in Simone’s life and I hope she can get through the first step and get to the end and be a better person for herself and for her sons and grandchildren. I love Natalie for Wise! everyone seems to be moving right along and cannot wait for the story of winter!

It was ok.

I skipped through this book and barely finished. It was a short read catching up on the family but this author needs an editor. I’m tired 😫 I can’t read another book with these errors. Was a ghost walking Ireland down the isle and visited her after she gave birth? Or did the author forget her parents was dead?!!! Like come on lol that irritated me so bad. I’m use to the author mixing up characters names but forgetting the whole plot of the previous book is just ridiculous. Anyways the series was fun. Truce is my favourite then Chicago. Wise is still a weirdo and a predator, justice is just… and Loyal still is the biggest disappointment.

Okay, okay — I understand Simone a little more now, and I’m honestly glad Truce is finally letting go of the hurt for himself. The layers of therapy, healing, and mental illness in this story were so necessary and beautifully done.

Justice and Lauren 🥰🥰 — y’all have my heart. I hope Denim stays with y’all forever!

And umm… why would anyone try Glo?!
Alana, girl, I’m so sorry but that was dumb 😩

This family keeps me on my toes every single time. Raynor really knows how to mix love, chaos, and growth in a way that makes you feel like you’re part of the crew.

A Treacherous Christmas

Is there any redeeming qualities in Simone ? Will she ever change? How will Denim's live will be revealed? It was good visiting with all the family of Wise and Chicago's and seeing everyone happy. I was Disappointed in Alana. All in all it was a great story. I love Natisha Raynor's writing style. Thank you for all of the Treacherous Twin stories that I love so much. I just don't think that I can wait until the next release for this.

Families take care and support one another. Blood isn’t always family the decision to be involved with another person makes you more family than the blood shared between mother/father/child/siblings.

Mental health use to be shun upon in black families. If you were showing signs of depression or anxiety you were told to pray or to sit down nothing is wrong with you. Seeking outside guidance makes you stronger than those who doesn’t accept your diagnoses.

It was nice to see the crew is still doing good. I would love to hear from Loyal and Khdafi. I’m so damn happy that Simone finally is getting the help she needed and that she wasn’t that heartless. I’m glad that Truce can finally forgive Simone and heal for himself.

I’m glad that Denim found somewhere that he could feel safe. Justice truly has grown from when we were first introduced to him. Lauren and his children truly matured him.

I truly hoped we'd get to see Simone redeem herself one day. I loved that she was finally able to do so after years of turmoil. Justice also needed to heal and after finding out the source of her actions, the journey began.

There were so many reasons to smile while reading this from the wedding, to the birth of the newest addition to the family and the unexpected bonus child. This truly was a good holiday read.

Consistency

This book would have gotten 5 stars, but for glaring inconsistencies. You already told us in Chicago’s story that Ireland lost her parents at a young age. (SPOILER ALERT) So I’m trying to figure out how her mom came to the hospital when Brooklyn was born or how her dad gave her away at her wedding. Seems very lazy. Other than that tho. Loved catching up on everyone’s life. It was a fun ending. Can’t wait for Winter and Trinity’s stories

A Treacherous Christmas

I love everything about this family. Wise, Chicago, Truce, Justice, Loyal, and Kadafi. Even though they haven't known each other very long, they stand ten toes down. The way that they love the women in their lives is how loves supposed to be.

This was a great addition to the Treacherous Twins series. I can't wait to read about Winter, Fatima, and Trinity.

Absolutely loved it. First of all, this was a really good book and it definitely kept my attention. There was a lot going on, weddings, births, breakthroughs, suicide attempts, foster kids, break ins and murders. Whew chile. Finding out things about Simone made sense as to the way that she acted. I really hope that she does what she needs to do because she definitely won’t get another pass from Truth.
