The Fifth Agreement: A Practical Guide to Self-Mastery

Rate this book
In The Four Agreements , don Miguel Ruiz revealed how the process of our education, or "domestication," can make us forget the wisdom we were born with. Throughout our lives, we make many agreements that go against ourselves and create needless suffering. The Four Agreements help us to break these self-limiting agreements and replace them with agreements that bring us personal freedom, happiness, and love.

In The Fifth Agreement , don Miguel Ruiz joins his son, don Jose Ruiz, to offer a fresh perspective on The Four Agreements, and a powerful new agreement for transforming our lives into our personal heaven. The Fifth Agreement takes us to a deeper level of awareness of the power of the Self, and returns us to the authenticity we were born with. In this compelling sequel to the book that has changed the lives of millions of people around the world, we are reminded of the greatest gift we can give the freedom to be who we really are.

A lifelong book I will forever hold on to. Every time I read this book I gain a deeper connection to my awareness. The vocabulary and structure of the agreements felt like a poetic, artistic feeling to it. When I began to embody the agreements through this fresh perspective, my life began to shift in beautiful ways. I highly recommend for anyone who desires to get lost in a deep, reflective, knowledgeable book!

a great read

This book was a great add-on to the four agreements. I love the concluding pages and how the author has brought us in tune with our mission. If we focus on a different agreement each week, very soon all the five agreements will become our lifestyle and will need no effort.

The Four Agreements is a book I've returned to over and over. I reveal new understanding each time I read the Four Agreements and I was hopeful that The Fifth Agreement would reveal more but was disappointed in the writing and the message. It is said that when the student is ready, the master appears.

That’s the 2nd book from Miguel Ruiz that I read - a bit of disappointment. It was much harder to read, understand and absorb.

You can really start to see his intended puzzle pieces clicking together as he relays the message.

The four agreements was better. I really wanted to like this one. It was okay. A repetition of the first book imo.

An Assigned Read

This book was assigned to my women’s group, it was also recommended by a friend some years back. The book does a good job of shifting the perspective of woes and gripes. The voice is simple and straightforward, in some instances it reads a bit redundant. The agreements themselves are brilliant no brainers.
