Nyx never asked to become a cosmic pawn—but the stars have other plans. Shunned by her pack, abandoned by a power-hungry beta, and left on an Alpha’s doorstep, she’s spent her life on the outside—until a brooding, infuriatingly handsome wolf prince drags her to Cedar Hollow Academy.
But it isn't a sanctuary. It’s a labyrinth of secrets, smiling enemies, and deadly games she was never taught to play. A school for the powerful, the privileged, and the dangerously unhinged, where rival royals clash, whispered prophecies stir, and celestial forces meddle in ways the universe should never allow.
Thrown into a world where egos are weapons and magic simmers beneath her skin, Nyx must navigate a power inside her that grows louder by the day—and truths the universe never intended her to uncover. Now she stands at a crossroads: fight the fate trying to consume her… or embrace the darkness that has been waiting all along.

If you’re drawn to stories filled with supernatural academies, outcast heroines, dark secrets, and dangerous love, Shedding Starlight is your next obsession. Fans of Crave, The Wolf King, Shadow and Bone, Throne of Glass, and Vampire Academy will be captivated by this gripping tale of power, betrayal, and dangerous romance.

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.7
Storyline: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pace: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
World Building:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Characters:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Writing:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As a baby, the FMC was discovered on the threshold of the pack's alpha residence. Due to a premonition that she will become powerful one day, the beta and his wife, who are unable to have children, take her in and nurture her as their own. This goes on until she is 15 years old and the rite where Shifters get their wolves doesn't happen for her. She is ridiculed, shamed, mistreated, and abandoned as she is forced to remain on the pack grounds until she becomes 21.

At 19, she is kidnapped and sent to Cedar Hollows School for Alphas, or, as Prince Keiran, the King Alpha's son, puts it, "Think of it as an invitation you couldn't refuse." She is forgiven for being a shame because of her failure to shift, but this does not imply the students are ready to play nice.

Her friendship and bond with Lila and Talon is one that comes easily and naturally to her. These supporting characters are some of my favourites, and I can't wait to learn more about them in the second book.

The other woman's drama is mild; she is the daughter of the King Alpha's right hand, and she claims to be the future Luna, which makes her jealous. Although it only has a minor role, this enhances the narrative.

This isn't a 'why choose' narrative, even if the FMC eventually discovers she has two fated partners instead of just one. She is unable to have both, so she must choose one. One of those options will result in a better future for the entire world, however the other would bring about its devastation and demise. No pressure right? 🤷‍♀️😅

What I loved:
The FMC's growing feelings for both of her partners and how she handled all of these challenging circumstances. She seemed well-balanced, and I never felt the need to hit her with logic or roll my eyes at her for making foolish choices. Seeing an FMC that was so well-balanced was refreshing.
The story had me guessing as to which one she would choose and which one would lead to the light or darkness. It made it enjoyable as I couldn't 100% guess which one I was backing.

The book was easy to read and kept me engaged. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and the fact that it wasn't the typical 'why choose' storyline .I can't wait to see where this tale leads in the second book. This book, in my opinion, was a fantastic initial introduction to a series, and I'm eager to watch how it develops.

What I wasn't a fan of:
Some of the sentences were poorly written, which made them awkward and detracted from the narrative. It didn't happen very often, though, and it's easy to fix.

Storyline:
The drawback is that I was liking the steady pace at which everything was moving. This is until all of the action begins, such is when she receives her Wolf, the choosing, or when she leaves the academy. At these points, the plot quickens and cuts out details that could have enhanced the narrative. Readers are particularly interested in specifics at those points and would add benefit to be slowed and more detail added

It was also distracting with how often the FMC would think that the other characters voices or looks were always 'undertoned with something she can't quite place' I get trying to be mysterious but when this happens at every interaction it gets old.

In saying that, the story held its own and kept me engaged and interested. I feel with those changes, I would give it a 5⭐️

Ending on a positive
Best saying I take away from the book:
"Don't let the Shadows of yesterday dim tomorrow's light"

4.5 stars! This book had me from the prologue. Instantly hooked. The plot was completely entrancing…layered with tension, mystery, and just enough uncertainty to keep me on edge the entire time. I was constantly guessing, constantly worrying, and absolutely unable to put it down.

My heart broke for the FMC. She was bullied, outcasted, and handed the absolute worst set of circumstances. And yet… there was something about her resilience that I couldn’t help but admire. Even at her lowest, she had this quiet strength that made me root for her harder with every chapter.

Then the tone shifts…and when it gets dark, it gets dark. From that point on, it’s relentless action, high stakes, and emotional punches one after another. I was fully locked in and here for every single chaotic, heart-pounding minute.
And that ending?! Completely unhinged in the best way. I need the next book immediately because there is no way I can be left like that.

I received an eARC of Shedding Starlight from K.R. Blackwood and this is my honest review. This book was a great start to what I feel will be an amazing trilogy. If you love shifter, dark academia, fated mates this is the book for you. From the start I was pulled into the relationship between Nyx, Kieran, and Solis the push and pull was so entertaining. I found myself rooting for one and without saying any spoilers, I’m really hoping for some change in the coming books. The storyline ebbed and flowed with great character development and attention to detail. The author has a wonderful way of pulling you in and not letting go. I’m excited to see what’s next on her journey :)

I received an eArc of Shedding Starlight and it really had me hooked! I couldn’t put it down. There were many unique aspects to the book but it also tied back to known themes for those of us who love this genre, which I loved. There were times that I felt I wanted more detail and some parts felt a bit rushed but it didn’t take away from the overall story in my opinion. There was good character development throughout and I just wish the book was longer to allow for the author to further build the many different relationships that were introduced. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series- hopefully soon!

I received an ARC (Advanced Readers Copy) of this book, it is so interesting. I haven’t been able to put it down. The only reason it took me so long to read is because of life (single mom two kids), I have enjoyed the story so much, the references to the Twilight series made me smile. This story takes place at a Royal Academy for wolf shifters, like Hogwarts. The academic side is discussed a little bit. The world building is limited, but doesn't need a lot of explanation. The magic used by the witches to help the wolves, transform is unique. The magic the wolves are able to wield is very unique. It is a shifter series, they shift from human to wolf form completely. There is mated/fated bonds.
I did enjoy the royal hierarchy, the dynamic between the FMC (female main character) and her two MMC (male main character) was interesting. The difference between the two MMC had me choosing one over the other. However the way the author wrote about them had me second guessing my choice. Trying to decide which MMC was the right fit and would help the FMC development in the story was fun. The FMC friends were helpful and added insight into the FMC.

I did have a few issues with the writing. Parts of the book seem like the editor missed. A character’s name must have changed during the re-writing process, but wasn’t changed everywhere. Some parts of the sentence structure would pull me out of the story. I am a visual reader, meaning that I see images of what I am reading. There are parts of the book where the description of the characters doesn’t fit the setting or action going on.

Book review - Shedding Starlight by K. R. Blackwood

What can I say about this book... um... what just happened? Lol. I asked that a lot. But in the best way possible. There were so many surprises and this is the first in the series, so it's left me with unanswered questions that I NEED TO KNOW!

I let Alexa read this to me and it was primarily while I was driving. Then it got to the point where I NEEDED to keep listening so I had to find things to do so I could listen. I folded laundry, A LOT of laundry and scrubbed the shower so I could finish this book - and I do not like laundry or shower cleaning okay? That should tell you something.

The story starts by showing us the customs of a pack and how they immediately shun and completely disregard a member just because they're different. The main character goes from being loved and wanted to being hated and a pariah in a moment, just for being different.

The story follows Nyx's struggles and life changing experiences and how she adapts, manages, and grows. There are politics, a love triangle, shifters, twists, a murdery jealous ex... it's packed! Give it a go, even if you're not into shifter reads, it's not my go-to but I really enjoyed it!

Why are you still here? Go add this to your TBR.

Darkly mesmerizing and razor-sharp, Shedding Starlight is a haunting blend of paranormal romance, mystery, and political intrigue that grabs hold from the first page and refuses to let go. The first installment in the Howl of the Ancients series introduces readers to a world where nothing is quite what it seems—and everyone has something to hide.

At its center is Nyx, a fiercely relatable heroine whose life has been shaped by rejection and invisibility. Shunned by her pack, burdened by a locked-away wolf, and dreaming of a freedom that feels just out of reach, Nyx is thrust into a dangerous new world at Cedar Hollow Academy. But this isn’t just another magic school—it’s a breeding ground for secrets, survival games, and star-destined power struggles.

The novel’s brilliance lies in its tension—emotional, romantic, and political. Two dangerously magnetic men hover on the edges of Nyx’s unraveling fate, pushing her in conflicting directions while the truth behind her origins grows ever murkier. With her magic simmering beneath the surface and forces beyond comprehension manipulating her path, Nyx must learn who to trust—if anyone—and how to wield the power she never asked for.

The prose is lush and atmospheric, with an undercurrent of cosmic dread and forbidden desire that makes every scene feel both intimate and epic. The author masterfully walks the line between fate and free will, building a mythology that’s as seductive as it is sinister. And while the ending doesn’t answer every question (intentionally so), it crackles with momentum—setting the stage for the chaos still to come.

For fans of Dark Academia with a paranormal twist, forbidden romance, slow-burn power awakenings, and heroines forged in the fire of betrayal, Shedding Starlight is a must-read. It’s a story about owning your truth, facing the shadows, and deciding who you’ll become when the stars try to write your story for you.

Thank you to K.R. Blackwood for an ARC!

This was a wild ride perfect for fans of Jaymin Eve‘s Spellcaster. This one follows Nyx, who was branded as a marnon, a wolf-less defect, by her pack after failing to shift at age fifteen. She is taken against her will by Prince Kieran to Cedar Hollow Academy, an elite college for future alphas and other powerful wolf shifters. Once there she is forced into a world of wolf politics that she is utterly unprepared for and forced to come to terms with her true identity and destiny. This one is fast-paced and I didn’t want to put it down. The banter in the first third of the book felt a little bit juvenile, however, once the story took off, things took a dark turn that had me locked in. The fated mates aspect of the romance was refreshingly done such that it wasn’t insta-love/insta-lust on the part of the FMC. The spice when we got to it was well done and added to the story. The love triangle had my emotions all over the place and I have so many questions that need answering after the events of the last 40% of the book. I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here and need book two in my life ASAP!

*Check TWs if needed! This book was darker than anticipated and contains a morally black MMC who does horrible things to the FMC.*

This book was recommended to me and I am returning the favor and telling you that you need to read it. I am one of those people that will blindly jump into a book knowing only the genre and this book was no exception. It was everything that I didn‘t know I wanted in a book that was advertised as a wolf shifter book, which I will be honest is a little out of the norm on what I read. And yes this is a wolf shifter book but it is so so much more than that. The way that this book had me questioning everything I though I knew. I thought I knew the direction that this book was going to take but I was so wrong. The twists and turns kept coming. I still am not sure who to trust. That may sound bad but there are so many ways that this story can unfold and it makes me that much more excited for the next book. If you don’t read the description of this book, then let me tell to start this book with an open mind. Honestly, I wouldn’t read the description because this book is one of those that is best going into knowing nothing. I know that might not make sense but trust me. This book is everything.

"You are not in some Harry Potter spin-off, relax, the castle is not alive. It won't reject you, the students on the other hand..."
With that inner dialogue and humor, I fell in love with Nyx, the FMC.
This story hit the ground running, but the plot twist was BRUTAL!! It alone deserves a star. Just wow, absolutely wow!
When Nyx's wolf fails to appear at the unsealing ceremony, she becomes an outcast in her pack. But, due to an oracle's vision, she is enrolled in Cedar Hollow Academy for future potential Alphas. There, she meets Prince Kieran and Prince Solis.
Like Nyx, I was torn between the two MMCs- Kieran and Solis. Kieran is the charming bad boy, and Solis is the lovable golden boy. Two terrific choices. Then the plot twist happened, and MY JAW LITERALLY HIT THE FLOOR! I was screaming 😱.
The ending was a bit abrupt, and I have so many questions ( in the best way) . I need book 2 like yesterday.
I would caution readers to check your trigger warnings with a couple of scenes.
Thank you for choosing me to be an ARC Reader

What in the world!? Listen, I still don’t know who I’m rooting for. I thought I knew, I thought I was clever. I know nothing. I feel a whole lot and know nothing. I need book two. Thanks.
My goodness. Poor Nyx! This book is single POV, Nyx’s POV, so we only find out what she finds out and you will question everything. And everybody! I love the found family in here and I will be devastated if I find out that I shouldn’t have ever trusted them. Right now I am mad at both MMCs and I need to knowww. With that being said, this book will make you want to keep reading. You just can’t put it down. And it will make you feral with need for book two! Be warned. 😉 Thank you to the author for the eARC. This voluntary review is my honest thoughts and opinions about the book. There are open door spice scenes, I would rate 3/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️. Check your TW before diving in. I think you’ll like this book if you like

✨Shedding Starlight✨5/5🐝
This isn’t just a wolf pack story—it’s a revelation. Move over Jacob, there’s a new pack rising, and they brought witches, secrets, and a mating bond that will shatter everything you thought you knew.

Set in an academy that crackles with magic and tension, KR Blackwood delivers a world where loyalty howls louder than blood, and found family is forged in fire.

🐺 Nyx – The sassy, lone wolf rebel clawing her way into power and self-worth. You’ll follow her anywhere.
🌒 Solis – Stoic, protective, with shadows in his eyes and heat in his soul. Don’t cross him.
👑 Kieran – The arrogant prince you’ll love to hate…and maybe just hate to love. Savior complex included.
💅 Veronica – Regina George with a snarl. I coughed up hairballs every time she spoke.
🔥 Lila – Loyal, loud, and a southern spark of humor that stole scenes and hearts.
🛡️ Talon – The quiet storm, ready to unleash fury when his pack is threatened.

I devoured this in two sittings—tail twitching, page flipping, emotionally feral.
KR Blackwood? You’ve got yourself a new faithful reader.

So…. Hmh… i don’t know what i’m feeling honestly. K.R just makes you love someone and then flips everything around, leaving you just feeling confused, empty and heartbroken.. Just like that! And i know she loves it!
Too bad i can’t hate her because i love her books and she is great too, so i’m just gonna sit here and be a bit angry..
Don’t even know what to write here, so gonna need a minute or an hour.. I’m back and still i don’t have anything to say
Tho loved everytime Stary kids were mention, i just love them and their music! * screaming little* there is wolfs too and that’s great! Betrayl, heartbrake, choises, destiny and awesome friends in a mix too! Then there is few of those who you just wanna throw of the roof and hope that they land on their faces and don’t get up.
Honestly just read this book and yell with me! And get a reading slump because that’s what this book does to you! In a good way!

I absolutely loved this fresh take on a shifter fantasy novel. It features one of my favorite tropes — why choose — but with a twist I didn’t see coming!

This is my second time reading a novel by K. R. Blackwood, and once again she delivers a refreshing, original storyline that completely pulls you in. Just when you think you’ve figured out what’s going to happen… bang. She flips it.

There’s not just one, but two fated mates, threads of dark magic woven throughout, a found family dynamic, deadly games, and a delicious enemies-to-lovers-to-enemies tension that keeps you guessing.

Our FMC, Nyx, starts out shunned and underestimated, only to discover she may possess untold powers that place a dangerous target on her back. Watching her navigate that shift in identity and power was compelling and emotional.

I’ll admit, after being hooked instantly, the pacing slowed a little in the middle. But I’m so glad I stuck with it because the final 50% was completely unputdownable. The stakes skyrocketed, the twists were 🤯, and I was fully invested by the end.

If you love shifter fantasy with dark magic, fated mates, and high-stakes tension, this one is definitely worth the read. ⭐✨

This is easily a five star read for me, 10/10, I will talk about this and not shut up about it. The last 30% of the book I had no idea what was going on but in THE BEST WAY. Shedding Starlight follows Nyx, and she is sassy and sarcastic and I LOVE IT. She has a backbone and there is one specific part (no spoilers) where she really stands up for herself and I was so proud of her. I felt so many different things reading this… there were parts where I was laughing so hard I’m sure I looked crazy, and there were parts where I was sitting there just trying to wrap my head around what I just read. Some aspects of this reminded me of a Zodiac Academy vibe, if you enjoyed those books at all. This book does have a love triangle, and I’m usually not a fan of those but this story wouldn’t be as amazing as it is without it! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves shifter books. The plot twists will keep you guessing and the hilarious one liners are the best.

Spoiler free review!
So glad I was able to do this ARC review for Shedding Starlight by K.R. Blackwood
This wolf shifter book really had me on my toes. I loved that we have 2 Royal brother MMCs who both have a bond with the FMC and she has to choose between them. An oracle saw her coming and foreseen if she chooses wrong the world would suffer. She has her own set of awesome powers the brothers help her uncover along with who she is. We also have a sweet southern belle bestie and a firey jealous ex who comes after our FMC more than once. This book has a lot going for it!
Now I have to sit here and wait to see how book 2 unravels because that ending about took me out!

4,75 stars from me.. I absolutely loved this book 😍!! I couldn't put it down, had to know what happened next. I didn't see any of the plot twists coming 🤯. The only reason I have this book 4,75 and not 5 stars is because there are quite a bit of repetitive sentences and words, which bothered me a bit a few times.. but maybe that's just me 😅. I loved the FMC, Nyx, and both MMC's, Kieran and Solis are 🔥🔥!! This is a must choose book and at one point you'll be rooting for Kieran, the next you'll root for Solis and in the end you absolutely have no clue anymore which one of them you should trust 😅🤯. I absolutely can't wait for book two!!!

Shedding Starlight is Book 1 in the Howl of the Ancient Series, and it is a paranormal mystery romance steeped in intense political intrigue. Are you intrigued now?

I really like the unique twists this book has. I thought the plot was really well thought out and different. I know the story was written in a way to raise a lot of questions and leave you guessing, and that it will all be revealed in time. I like when a book isn’t predictable and this one is certainly not. It keeps you engaged and wanting more. I have no idea who is good or who is evil, or who will do what. I thought this was a great set up and introduction to the series. I’m excited to do a reread and see what I may have missed initially, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds in the next book.

This book was absolutely phenomenal!

I loved every aspect! It had me hooked from start to finish and the more I read, the more I didn't wanna put the book down!

I love love love Nyx! Also Lila and Talon are great characters too! And the complexity of Kieran is spine tingling!

Also all the unexpected twists and turns really got me! I don't think there was any aspect that I was expecting to happen. I think I was shocked through every new revelation and I absolutely loved it! I need more immediately.

I devoured this book, to the point I couldn’t sleep before I finished it because I had to know what happened.

Acedemia settings, with wolf shifters, witches and magic the plot lines were strong and kept me on my toes trying to figure out the characters ultimate goals… even now I’m still trying to wrap my head around whether the villain is actually a villain or…

I loved the variety in characters personalities and development throughout the book too with equal balance of brooding mystery and banter.

Overall shedding starlight was a book that was easy read and to follow but not so easy you lose interest. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it

THANK YOU TO THE AUTHOR FOR ALLOWING ME THE CHANCE TO READ THIS PIOR TO ITS RELEASE, I HAVE LEFT MY HONEST FEEDBACK AND THOUGHTS DETAILED BELOW.

🌍 𝕎𝕠𝕣𝕝𝕕 𝕓𝕦𝕚𝕝𝕕𝕚𝕟𝕘, 𝕨𝕣𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕡𝕒𝕔𝕚𝕟𝕘:
The book was easy to read with a strong atmosphere that kept me engaged as the premise of the book was very compelling and very intriguing. the author does an good enough job of building the world of of the pack hierarchy, ( with an excellent breakdown of the positions available at the start) leaning on more of the shunned wolves, but this could have been better documented with evidence of seeing more of the shunned wolves or at least getting more layers to shunning history and current place in the packs world. Especially as I expected this to come hen the alpha gave her the councils letter but then that whole narrative was dropped and ignored like it never happened? What was the point in that then? To create an opportunity of hope so large it changes her entire outlook but yet not enough for her to remember it or remotely want to mention it again? Confusing? I expected more of a fight- take me back/ I can finally be whole/ your stealing my last chance/ why did you take this opportunity from me etc…

The steady pace at which everything was moving in the beginning was well achieved with no large info dumps. But once the action begins when she receives her Wolf the plot quickened and cuts out details that would have provided depth and could have really enhanced the narrative.
The stakes were high, and there were plenty of action-packed moments that keep the plot moving forward and me feeling engaged.

There’s a lot of information delivered quickly, yet I still felt like I didn’t have enough clarity to fully picture and understand the world. The lore and pack structure are introduced in dense bursts that slow the story instead of helping immersion. The pack dynamics left more to be desired as we didn’t get to know the pack, or life with the pack, the pack rules when it comes to humans, and the cultural lore surrounding the wolves. What I mean by this is that it was never explained if the wolves were allowed to interact with humans? Breeding with them? Bite them? Did they get jobs with them? Did the humans know about them? Etc… a couple of these questions were lightly touched on but not enough to actually ingrain answers into the story.

One aspect that detracted from my reading experience was the author's frequent emphasis on the sound of characters' footsteps. Whether it's the "soft thud of boots on dirt" or the "crunch of leaves beneath their feet," this repetitive detail is included a little too often.
It feels more like a filler than a necessary atmospheric detail and It becomes particularly noticeable during slower-paced moments, dragging the reader out of the story rather than immersing them in it.
Some worldbuilding choices also pulled me out of the narrative. The palace in Maine with no royal politics/ intrigue or royal life/ training/ duties or even interactions felt tonally odd compared to the rugged, pack-centric atmosphere of the school. The repeated use of the title “Alpha King” got annoying as we didn’t get any of the intrigue that goes with the royal label or even any of the general ‘day in the life’ stuff. We don’t really meet him, so we don’t care about him and we are told he is the strongest but we don’t feel it, we don’t get those alpha vibes that come with being >shown< how and why they have that title and why we should fear him.

The love triangle certainly adds drama, it also feels a bit formulaic. The tension between the three characters is strong. We don’t get much real thought about the extra female and what the males think of her, what the school or even the adults think of her claim to being the next luna. This is an important detail because we could have learned so much more about this driving need of hers leading the reader to be able to formulate better opinions on who is the bad guy, who is manipulating who, what expectations does everyone have for the future king, what the plans are for the future king… did she come to this idea herself or had the adults put it in her head? Did she know she couldn’t be a Luna if she wasn’t a mate? What other important rules did she know or not know? I also got very annoyed that we never saw her get punished or reprimanded for her behaviour by the boys or the adults. What was her punishment for the beers? What was her punishment for the push? Was it taken seriously as a death threat? Was she ever knocked down a peg or two at all? Plus she has the interest of 2 possessive alpha mates and yet they never mention the push, the audacity of it and neither of them seem to want revenge or justice- And the headmaster doesn’t care either ? I know much later it briefly mentions that she was punished, but it was a massive hole in the story at that time. And-Why was she allowed back to class? After class why did no one mention her threats or targeted attack? Where was all the gossip and hearsay of the students on any of these big, juicy moments?!
This missing information from the teachers and adult families hugely impacted my enjoyment and my understanding of the plot. Especially when the FMC was accused of attempted murder and suddenly that so serious… ? Very confusing.

The main character’s internal conflict is engaging at first, but after a while, it becomes clear that the emotional tug-of-war is less about genuine choice and more about pushing the narrative of A over B as she just didn’t really care to find out much about their personalities, past, dreams, future or even little things like hobbies or strengths and weaknesses.

A couple other bumps that irritated me and interrupted my reading flow were-

-When she passed out after the black hole in the office and one prince was by her side, why did she not ask where the hell the other one was? And where was he? She passed out for 2 days and he doesn’t care?

-And the collar, it’s never actually explained, we know she stopped feeling the bond but did it take her powers and wolf too? And s promised to take it off but never did- why?

-The spicy scenes, she reveals she is a virgin and yet he takes it in one swift thrust ? No way. Not believable at all.

-When they were in the nightclub they were kissing and then that entire night stopped and it was the next morning? No transition or explanation?

I enjoyed the story a lot, I love the intrigue between the princes and couldn’t work out of the bad guy was actually good and the good guy was actually pretending all along, ready to drop the charade after he won… it was a good ride but with just a few gaps in the story. I’m looking forward to the next book to see what happens and I hate that she is so traumatised now, but I bloody love her character development, her smart a$$ banter and the side character friendships! The mythic undertones and emotional tension are what kept me flipping pages as you can feel that there is something big coming soon!

🪧𝔽𝕚𝕟𝕒𝕝 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤:
The general premise, darker tone and emotional tension show promise, and readers who enjoy pack politics, hierarchy dynamics, and myth-infused paranormal worlds may still enjoy this fun, if occasionally frustrating, read. Worth checking out for fans of wolf shifters and supernatural romance.

⭐️ DNF

⭐️⭐️
I managed to finish it but it was rubbish. I won't keep a physical copy and won't recommend it, but  it's a shame as the plot could have made a good book in another author's hands

⭐️⭐️.5
It was OK. I wish I didn't start this one as it didn't do it for me as I struggled to read it. It had an interesting premise that fell flat but I had to see what happened in the end.

⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don't regret reading it, and I will read the next one, but this one did have a few flaws. [These could be repetitive writing, gaps or plot holes, better character growth or world building, areas needing more detail]
Generally, the book lacked depth and became confusing. The plot resonated with me even though it annoyed me on the whole.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I'm glad I read it. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to the right people, but I wanted more! Sadly, it's easily forgettable with a few issues I just couldn't overlook/get past.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good book! I loved it, but... I needed more! I really did enjoy it, but it had a few parts that needed more detail or added history/background or lore. But that's because the story or characters were memorable, and the plot was strong with brilliant twists. I would re-read if I needed to catch up for the next book and would recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Great book! I truly wish the story had been thought about more, or the author had been given more time as this book is so close to brilliance! I will likely read again and will definitely be recommending it to all!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
WOW! Absolutely amazing book! Well written with great characters and a plot so memorable that it will stay with me. I will definitely read this again, I will be recommending it and sharing it with the whole world! Also- I NEED A PHYSICAL COPY!

🔥⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥
This is my God level tier. The book must be perfectly memorable. Even after reading 50+ more books, I will remember character names and emotions along with the plot. If there is a special edition, then I need to own it! If there is a conversation on books- I'm talking about this!

 SPICE SCALE:
🌶️– segsual language and a little on-page action

🌶️🌶️– a lot of segsual language and some on-page open door action, may be occurring a couple of times

🌶️🌶️🌶️– a lot of explicit action and dirty talk, occurring frequently with 2/3 lurvers

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ – super graphic and explicit, occurring 4 or more times, can be more grey and taboo themed.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ – Kinks and Fet!shism, explicit and super graphic. It is likely to be tushy play, toys, playrooms, and more dark / taboo fantasies and realities.

Was given an Arc for an honest review:

I both hated and love this book.
Hated cuz love triangle and the dudes are brothers. And one them is …evil. But the other brother is giving bad vibes too. (I don’t trust or like either of them) And the whole mate between brother and her thing is weird. Like that kind of ruins the whole concept of mates. …
But also loved it cuz I like drama. And NYC wolf sparkles 💖

Thank you so much to KR Blackwood, for the opportunity to read this eARC!! This is definitely a whirlwind of twists and turns, love and loss. There is a love triangle with a lot of mystery surrounding everything, really. It ends on a cliffy. There are parts that have me confused, that I'm assuming will be answered in the next book. I recommend giving it a read!
