I’m interested in science because it helps us to understand the world. I enjoy finding out about new things and then working out how to write about them in a way that is both clear (and accurate) but which also conveys my own excitement and interest. I particularly like writing books that are fun, and I have been lucky to have had so many chances to do so.
I was born in Yorkshire in England, but grew up in Stranraer, a small town in south-west Scotland. I graduated from Edinburgh University and then came down to London, where I have lived ever since. I enjoy reading novels, watching films, and walking in the countryside.
Every child is curious about farm animals and this is a good one for toddler and preschoolers to younger elementary ages. In real life pictures and simple words, this book shows you the life of a chicken from egg to 8 weeks old. The real life stickers included make a great fun activity for your kids, also!
K picked this book up from his school library. This is an easy ready for those that are maybe learning to read to even those that can read. You get the life cycle along with pictures of how a chick grows. This book is perfect for the younger kids to learn how an animal grows from a baby to an adult. Pictures were realistic and went together well with what was being told.
Very simple text to help readers learn how the penguin changes from when it is born to when it becomes an adult. It is a short story, but done in a way that younger readers will be able to see with the pictures that are used and the visual at the very end of the story.
