She was supposed to be a means to an end. Now I’ll burn the whole world down to keep her.
Keaton
I was born into power. Raised to obey. Groomed to inherit an empire I never wanted.
My father thinks he controls me—thinks I’ll marry the woman he chose for me. A woman who betrayed me with my best friend and my cousin. A woman I wouldn’t touch if she was the last person on earth.
I need an out.
And then there’s Elodie Winters. The scholarship girl. The nobody. The perfect way to piss off my father and blow up his perfect little plan.
Marrying her is supposed to be a rebellion—nothing more. I never expected to get possessive. Never expected to care.
But when people come after her to get to me, all bets are off.
They want to use her as a pawn?
Fine.
I’ll show them what happens when someone tries to take what’s mine.
Elodie
Crestwood Academy was supposed to be my fresh start—a place where I could finally focus on my future. Not get tangled up with the school’s most infamous hockey player.
Keaton is trouble. Arrogant. Reckless. Everything I should avoid.
But when my stepmother decides my future for me—an arranged engagement to a man I barely know—Keaton is the only one who sees the cage closing around me. And when he makes me an offer I can’t refuse, I have to
Do I let him claim me to escape one prison, knowing he might become another?
Or do I risk losing the only person who’s ever fought for me?
Misconducts & Temptation is a stand-alone dark hockey romance featuring a possessive, untamed alpha determined to rewrite his fate and the defiant, resilient heroine who forces him to fight for something real. It has a guaranteed HEA and no cliffhanger.
Full disclosure: I am an acquired taste. I'm a typical blonde Orange County suburbanite who says 'like' more than necessary, laughs loud and probably obnoxiously, and loves to dance in the rain. I'm a 23 year old college graduate with more than a few tricks up my sleeve, and I also happen to be a pretty big Ducks fan. Oh, and I'm a writer. Like, for real.
Misconducts & Temptation is Book 10 of the Crestwood Elite Hockey Academy Series. This series just keeps getting better. Keaton and Elodie are my new favorite couple. This one is a bit different from the others, but oh, so so good. This is a bit of a darkish Cinderella story. Elodie's father married an evil woman with 2 daughters. He died, leaving Elodie to suffer at their hands and is truly their servant. She is able to attend Crestwood, though, on scholarship and works as a locker room attendant. Keaton is a broody, hunky, wealthy, playboy hockey player who hates his father. His dad is forcing him to marry an awful ex for family reasons. And he might have to for his inheritance. Elodie's evil mom has also essentially sold her to be married to an abusive a-hole. These two meet and agree to marry to solve their problems. But Keaton quickly becomes protective and possessive of his wife, and she also gains some strength. These two were perfect together. The chemistry was insanely hot, and the ending was happy after a lot of drama. I'm totally in love with Keaton. I loved seeing these two grow together and fall in love, becoming a true force to be reckoned with. This one was so good!!!!.

I have read all the series so far and this is the one I have enjoyed the most. Crestwood Elite seems to be full of arrogant, debauched young adults who come from wealthy backgrounds. Keaton, despite his fierce manner, is subjected to his father's control and coercive attitude. His needs to be independent are overshadowed by his future inheritance. His behaviour reflects in his need to be independent and hockey is his way out, plus his womanising traits....until Elodie is in his sights and mind. Elodie is the typical Cinderella, complete with wicked step mother and ugly sisters. Downtrodden and brow beaten. Her out is her scholarship and her poorly paid job as a locker room attendant. She has a fierce independent streak and steely determination. They come together when she marries Keaton in an act of defiance. I loved how each of the characters became involved and their true depths emerged.
Money is power and money talks in Keaton's world. Reputation is everything, so I was disappointed that Marion, William and Lola were not dealt with in a more severe, public forum. Revenge is a dish best served cold. Public humiliation would, in my opinion, have been the ultimate revenge, especially for Marion and William as their machinations were conducted behind closed doors. Lola's reputation proceeded her. It would have been entertaining to read it was public gossip that Elodie had physically taken her down...the kitten has claws and a bite. Cheered over Keaton's fight with Ashton. I love it when the bad guys get their just desserts and it is as good as a HEA ending. Crestwood Elite have the means to do the worst.
Great series, excellent storytelling and writing. It takes the best and the worst in a character and brings it all together in different situations.
This isn't like the others but I had no problem with this story. The interview at the end of these stories are the best.
Cinderella feelings. Elodie, lost her mother as a young child, her dad remarried to an evil stepmother who already had 2 daughters of her own, the mean stepsisters. Elodie's father passed on and Elodie is no have to pay fer fathers debts as she became her stepmother's maid, cook, cleaner pretty much her slave, Elodie's only saving grace to get out of the house is attending Crestwood, but she also has to work as a locker-room attendant, her checks aren't her money and attend class, then come home and serve her stepfamily. Her stepmother did sell her to an older creep and said creep wants Elodie as his wife (but his not a good guy, he likes to beat women to make them 'pliable' for him.) She didnt want this but she went to attend a party after the bomb. She ran into a Keaton....
Keaton is heir to his father's legacy, and opposite of Elodie but controlled by his father or else he's cut off. His dad has arranged him to marry is cheating ex to help the company, but Keaton is against it all, he wants to become NHL, but he thinks he wouldn't get thought the upcoming draft, thats not in his father's plans for his son. Keaton needs a way out of this marriage and Elodie is the key but...
A Cinderella retelling where the wicked stepmother is epically vile and prince charming is a hockey hottie with a temper, daddy issues, and a serious case of mine! Keaton is classic broody, wounded, rich boy, dreading the noose that's tightening around his neck in the name of duty and family legacy, this close to being married off to a girl he can't stand all to please a father he'll never be good enough for, and hating every second of his life, he's harsh, abrasive, and hot in all the yummy bad boy ways and when he gets his hands on innocent Elodie...fireworks. It's zero to my wife, no one touches what's mine, turns out there is a heart behind all that ice, trust, and believing in someone and it is so freaking good.
This is a fabulous read! It's got the possessive alpha, it's got a couple you can easily root for, it's just dark enough, and it adds extra elements to the retelling that really make it stand out. I actually really loved Keaton, he struggles with his emotions for sure but he's pretty quick to be all in on Elodie, he protects her, defends her, and I loved that for her. These two bring out the best in each other, Keaton softening and opening his heart while Elodie finds a strength and fierceness she was afraid to own before, and by the end they're a force to be reckoned with and a really rock solid couple that you kind of just adore.
Having read all of the prior books and love all of the characters however this one with Elodie felt completely different in a Cinderella type feeling from evil stepmonster with her 2 stepbrat sisters and treats her like trash. Her only freedom (if you can call it that) is to be able to attend Crestwood.
Hockey Hotshot but broody rich boy Keaton has the typical requirements of marrying the person the family requires along with duties and expectations. Of course he has daddy issues so gives the big finger to his father with being a womanizer as well as a bad boy but knows that if he wants his inheritance he may need to bow to his father’s wishes.
When a chance encounter puts them both at the same place/same time a marriage of convenience seems to be the only way the characters can put their foots down against their families. I love that Keaton gets very protective of Elodie and defends her but also that Elodie grows a backbone. The chemistry between them right out of the gate was hot and you knew it was going to be off the charts explosive. I loved how both characters grew throughout the book and I have to say they are probably my new favorite couple in Crestwood.
“I think I have a right to live my life the way I like.” Malala Yousafzai
Heather Myers crafts her characters with such depth that readers can’t help but connect with them. We all know someone whose parents dictate every aspect of their life, someone who suffers under the control of a manipulative guardian, or someone who dreams of breaking free from the invisible chains that bind them.
Misconducts and Temptations is the kind of book that pulls you in and refuses to let go. Both Elodie and Keaton are desperate for freedom—Keaton from his father’s demand that he marry a cheating ex-girlfriend, and Elodie from a stepmother willing to sell her to a man old enough to be her grandfather just for financial gain.
But can they outmaneuver the people who seek to control them? Or will their fear of the unknown keep them trapped? The stakes are high, and their choices could have devastating consequences.
Add this one to your reading list—you’ll be left breathless, emotional, and utterly hooked. ~QS.

Wow! Just wow! This was an amazing story. A Cinderella kind of story with a twist – and LOTS of hotness. I absolutely love this series and this one I can honestly say was one of my favorite books in it. I loved both Keaton and Elodie, although if I had to choose I would definitely say that Elodie steals the show in this one. I loved her resilient, determined nature. She finds herself in a difficult situation because of her horrible step-family, but she is determined to move on no matter what. Keaton finds himself crushed under his father’s expectations regarding the family name and legacy. A rollercoaster of events bring these two together and it is clear from the get go that there is a lot going on between them than just a marriage agreement. I loved seeing them both stand up for themselves and grow as characters under their mutual support. A HEA guaranteed. Unquestionably a 5-star read for me.

Misconducts and Temptation is a dark Cinderella retelling with a hockey twist. This book was amazing, and I want more! Once I dove into this book, I was entrapped in the storyline, the plot, and the emotion and depth of the characters. Eloide is our fmc in her who portrays the 'Cinderella' in this book. Only her stepmother is way more evil and sells her off to some old guy. This is where 'Prince Charming' steps in, Keaton. The typical spoiled rich kid who wants for nothing but still has to complain. Set up for an arranged marriage is not what he wants. So thus the attempt of them helping each other out. These two had such chemistry that it was instant bonding of the two. The defending of one from the other, their banter, the love you get from them just grows the more you get into the book. This couple is a great addition to the Crestwood Elite.
A dark and dirty Cinderella retelling. It was very easy for me to empathize with Elodie and it sparked my anger to see all of the terrible things piling up in her life. My empathy didn’t connect as deeply with Keaton, but I was nearly as angry on his behalf and for many of the same reasons. I enjoyed seeing their marriage of convenience turn into a full-fledged ‘touch her and die’ connection between them. I’ve liked other books in the series better, so I’m looking forward to seeing what the authors give us next. Mostly, that’s because there’s a word used in here that’s as triggering to me as “moist” is to a lot of people. However, that’s entirely a “me” thing and your mileage may vary. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book through Booksprout.
Keaton is a man, broken and torn between familial expectation and dreams that may never come true. And Elodie is living to pay back her step-mother for only the step-mother knows what.
They're connection wakes them both up to the opportunity to grab their futures with both hands, and make a life for themselves.
While there are dark elements, this book had more of a hopeful feel to it for me. And I enjoyed how Keaton and Elodie stood up for themselves and each other, and together started the healing process.

Elodie though this was her fresh start until her step mother arranges a marriage. Keatons father demands he marry to a woman he doenst want anything to do with. Seeing their both in the same situation, Keaton offers Eloide a deal of marriage, meant to be of convenience butbsoon feelings grow but when she becomes a target for his enemies he will do anything to keep her safe. Well written engaging steamy desires and more.

Eloide and Kenton’s story has a Cinderella take but with a darker storyline. Smart girl and rich boy agrees to marry each other so that their family gets off their back, but what they didn’t expect was the attraction and possessiveness he feels for her. Will their romance fall apart before it starts? One click to find out in this newest add to the series that doesn’t disappoint. I enjoyed how the characters relationship becomes more and ends with HEA.
Keaton and Eloide's dark and steamy journey of love starts in an interesting way. Both are supposed to marry others in arranged marriages, but they decide to marry each other instead and fall in love along the way. This is a well written dark romance with believable characters that had intense chemistry and had me cheering them on to get their happily ever after. Misconducts and Temptation is book ten and a great addition to The Crestwood Elite Hockey Academy series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Their marriage might have been to avoid the arranged marriages they were being forced into, but Elodie and Keaton are meant to be. I liked how they fell for each other and supported each other including protecting each other from the ones who wanted them under their control. I liked how Elodie helped the relationship between Keaton and his father.
This is an interesting book that I found to be insightful on Lithuanian History from fighting the Crusaders to resisting Russian and German domination. Lithuania’s story is one of constant combat and endurance. This book brings to life the amazing history of a nation that stand at the crossroads of great empires and momentous junctures in history.

This is such a great story full of temptation and steam. I loved the modern Cinderella retelling. It was fun, dramatic and full of emotion. The chemistry between Elodie and Keaton is intense which makes the pages sizzle. Elodie is fun and feisty with Keaton, which makes him relish their confrontations. This book made me laugh, wince and hold my breath in anticipation. This book is such a brilliant read. 5 stars.
Another great instalment in the Crestwood Academy series, this time with Elodie and Keaton. Both are facing arranged marriages to others, but they find their own way out. There is darkness and bullies, but there is also two determined people who have the other's back no matter what may be thrown at them. Beautiful!.

This was an okay read. But I don't feel like it was up to the standards of the previous books. And it had kind of a Cinderella retelling feel to it which I'm just getting tired of. I liked Keaton but I thought Elodie was just okay. I feel like she made a lot of poor decisions. Things that Common Sense would make a warm person not do. And I don't feel like this was a dark romance.

Another great read in the Crestwood Elite Hockey Academy Series. Misconducts & Temptation is dark, sexy and oh so good!! I love Keaton and Elodie. Keaton is protective and possessive when it come to Elodie. It was great to see her get stronger throughout the story. I love the way their relationship developed. I think this may be my favorite one in the series so far.

I was disappointed in this book, which bums me out because I love this author and this series. I couldn't get into the story and I didn't like the characters. I was looking forward to Keaton's story too. The story felt rushed and disconnected.

I loved this Cinderella retelling with soooooo much more DARKNESS! Writing style is done in such a way that, you can visualize characters portrayed settings. Meanest stepmother and more deplorable stepsisters.! Elodie and Keaton Story is a must read.
“I was at class.”I said trying to keep my voice neutral.”Then I had to finish work.” “Excuses.” She waved her hand dismissively.”
This was a really good book. I enjoyed the story of Elodie and Keaton. He wasn't like some of the other men that i have read about in the series. He was hard and unforgiving, but not when it came to her. They had steamy chemistry, and the storyline was so easy to get lost in. This is a definite must-read.
Such a great story. Keaton and Elodie are quite the couple. While not meant for each other, their journey to one another is amazing, no matter what his father does to stop them. This is a spicy, sports fake marriage romance with a man who is vulnerable and a girl with a deep inner strength. Enjoy.
• Cinderella-ish vibes • Touch her and die • Marriage of convenience • Rich boy & Poor girl
I liked Keaton & Elodie's story - I just would not classify this as a dark romance. Not as good as the rest of the series & still waiting on Damian's story.
Cinderella story but dark and steamy. Hockey, lone wolf vibes and Cinderella who wouldn't defend herself. I really love the banter and the steamy scenes.

A steamy and addictive read that kept me hooked throughout. Keaton and Elodie had a fabulous chemistry and i loved how their characters grew the more they stood up for themselves and each other. The story has an undercurrent of Cinderella themes, but this was definitely not PG! A great story!
I enjoyed misconducts and temptation which was Keaton and Elodie’s story. It was a dark hockey romance. An intriguing read. I got a copy of the book and voluntarily leaving this review.
Elodie is just trying to survive; her evil stepmother, awful stepsisters, all the chores and jobs, and going to school. But what she never expected was Keaton, a hockey player, to marry her after knowing her less than 2 weeks. Both Keaton and Elodie are arranaged to be married to others, but neither of them want these marriages. This book was an amazing, quick read, you get sucked in page one, fall in love with the brooding alpha male that loves the quiet, stidouis. loner girl. Cindrella themes, alphahole MMC, quite but determined FMC.
