A fantastic read. I absolutely loved Bullet and Sophie ❤️❤️❤️ Kidnapped and held prisoner, Sophie is losing all hope, scared for her life as well as her daughters. A definite heartbreaking read. Bullet never gives up hope, he will search forever to get his girls back. Deceit abounds from an unknown source within the MC. Bullet and Sophie’s struggles will tear at your heart but the love they share will mend it. A definite page turner and very entertaining. Love Australian origin stories. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤

This is my first Sienna Gypsy book and I have to admit I should have read the first book before I read this one and I am going to be going back and reading book one and then re-reading this book and hopefully this one will flow a bit better. But, this was a great book, and I feel in love with the characters quickly, I just advise reading the books in order to help the flow make more sense.

Our FMC Sophie is finally free from the nightmare, which was her life of abuse. She's now built a new life in a new town with her daughter and her best friend Stasia, who would protect her with her life. And she's falling for our MMC.

Our MMC Bullet is a biker. He might have a dangerous reputation because of the fact that he's a biker. But, at the same time, he has a tender heart. He never planned to fall in love. He never planned to have a family, and he never planned to have a weakness. But, when he met Sophie, he was left with no choice, life he was not a part of her plan. She wasn't a part of his plan. And now he's her safe place, her home and sanctuary.

It's not that easy to run from you're past and Sophie soon learns that when her ex-husband comes back into her life, kidnaps her, and drags her back into his den of unimaginable horrors. Sophie soon finds herself back in his control, fear, and violence. She faces trial after trial clinging to the hope that Bullet will somehow find her. But, she knows its hopeless as her ex is a powerful lawyer with his own dark secrets and can reclaim her, take away her freedom, erase their divorce, and reclaim everything that she clawed out of his grasp when she left.

The day that Sophie manages to see Bullet again, she has to wonder if she can actually trust him with the truth of her abduction? Will he believe her? Can he be trusted with her secrets? Will her past destroy the fragile future they started to build together?

Illicit Roads really hit home with me, and I really struggled to read it at times. It brought up a lot of my own memories, and at times, I struggled with my own PTSD. But, as I read, I was able to continue the healing journey that I have started in other books that have had similar themes and tropes.

I really loved Sophie and Bullet's story. I resonated with Sophie as a woman who has gone through an abusive relationship. I just wasn't kidnapped or held prisoner. I could easily understand how Sophie would lose hope and fear for not only her life but also the life of her daughter. This book will take your heart and rip it out and tear it up.

I loved Bullets determination to find Sophie and how he would never give up to find her and her daughter. He wanted his girls back at all costs, and he would do anything and everything to get them back.

This is a page turner and is captivating. I would suggest that if you enjoy a biker love story, then you will enjoy this one as long as you keep the triggers in mind. This is a story of love, survival, and vengeance. It is a story of Sophie summoning the strength to protect the one person who matters then most, and then she has to decide if justice or retribution is going to set her free.

We continue in the series with a dual POV between Sophie and Bullet. Sophie and Keata are in the hands of her abusive husband Jay/Jayson. The story moves from her being with Jay/Jayson, escaping, and then being on the run, assisted along the way by old friends and new. I did feel the high stakes and potential, however the execution unfortunately fell short for me as inconsistent pacing and underdeveloped characters made it challenging for me to stay engaged.

It’s always fun to see some familiar Australian locations (in this case, the southern part of Western Australia), however it felt more like a game of location bingo as, other than the place names, nothing really gave a sense of Australia. Which is a shame, because Australia is so beautiful and unique. If the point was solely to show how far they travelled while being on the run I feel that may be lost on readers unfamiliar with Western Australian geography.

But the thing I most struggled with was the sheer volume of typos and grammatical errors. There was also for me an excess of exclamation marks (over 160), but I’ll chalk that down to a personal preference rather than possible typos (maybe). That being said, none of the other reviews mentioned any of this, so I’m wondering if my copy is perhaps an early/un-reviewed draft? For this reason, I’ve moved my review up to 3 stars: I genuinely can’t go any higher, though, because the rating is based on the copy I read.

Illicit Roads is book two of the Angels of Fury Series.

Sophie goes through a lot of physical and mental anguish throughout this book. She doubts a lot of things about the people in her life which really makes you feel for her. She doesn’t know who to trust as her ex really made her doubt everything she could believe in. The pain and suffering she goes through is felt through every word. But how she comes out by the end was a rebirth of herself. She really is an extremely strong character.

Bullet is a great character. At no time does his determination falter. He has one goal in mind and he is going to make sure he achieves it. I really loved how he strongly felt about making sure he got his family back. He would not be stopped before he achieved his goal.

I love this series and this one was a great read. I can’t wait for more in the series.

What I liked- the book was certainly a page turner. I liked Bullet and the club members, especially how they learned sign language for Bullet and Sophia’s daughter, whose disabilities were handled with grace and sensitivity.
What I didn’t- the book could have been a lot shorter, Sophia getting her @ss kicked by her ex repeatedly got old. And the traitor was a person the club didn’t like but let on the inside. Why?
Triggers- a LOT of abuse (including emotional and psychological abuse as well as physical, like the times Jayson kicked sixty colors of $hit out of Sophie). Violence, language, sex, attempted SA, child endangerment, kidnapping.

Sophie and Bullet’s story is rather raw emotionally, intense and action packed. This book is certainly hard to put down until the very last word has been read. Sophie and Bullet are two very fascinating characters with flaws, insecurities and doubts that are easy to relate to and understand. They are forced to face some hardships, betrayals and lies together and apart, but sheer determination, grit and love are on their side. I will admit that some parts of this story left me gasping and others left me teary-eyed or angry. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

This gritty book has my recommendation.

This is book 2 in the "Angel's of Fury" series. You don't necessarily have to read them in order but I highly recommend that you do. You need the full character development and back story.

This is Bullet and Sophie's story. Both these characters are complex and their story is beautiful. It is horrible and heartbreaking during the journey to get back to each other but the ending makes it all worth it. This book brings you on a Rollercoaster of heartbreak, fear, lies, betrayal, love and doing anything you have to do to survive. I couldn't put this book down once I picked it up. I needed to know how their story ended.

Between Sophie and Keata being taken and the uncovering of a big secret, Bullet is about to lose his mind. Illicit Roads is one heckuva journey with surprises, twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Another great read from this author!

Dark Fast Moving Book

This is Bullet and Sophie’s Story. We met them in the first book and I couldn’t wait to read more about them. This book has a lot going on and moves the bigger world forward quite a bit. There is darkness and heat and I loved every moment of it! I can’t wait for the next one!
