Amazon Top 25 and USA Today bestselling author Kayley Loring spent many years as a screenwriter (under a different name) in Los Angeles before moving to the Pacific Northwest to live out her childhood dream of being a Disney heroine who talks and sings to woodland creatures. When not trying to keep animals alive, she’s writing steamy romantic comedy novels, obviously. She’s breathing cleaner air, writing dirtier words, and staring at her computer screen until her eyeballs dry out instead of prancing around Southern California in miniskirts and going to the hair salon. Still waiting for the woodland creatures to clean her house, though.
Read or listen to Kayley’s books when you want humor, heat, and heart. You’ll enjoy top-notch banter, strong heroines, lovable characters you’d want to know in real life and you’ll swoon over perfectly imperfect book boyfriends. All Kayley Loring books are steamy open door romance. Be sure to check out her next-level audiobooks!
The Boston Tomcats series is everything you could want in a sports romance! You will fall so fast for each of these “players” from the Tomcats football team that you’ll have a hard time deciding which one is your MVP. The writing is witty, steamy, lovely, tender, and heartfelt. This series has it all!
Decker: Changing the Play introduces us to the Tomcats and their star quarterback Johnny Decker. This panty wrecker will steal your heart in this fun, sweet, steamy workplace romance. You’ll also adore Hannah Strong, the smart, sassy businesswoman who inherits the team and yet knows nothing about football. I laughed as he taught her about the game and swooned as these enemies become lovers. Decker is irresistible, and the Pretty in Pink inspired scene will melt your heart!
Be prepared for Dash Taylor to rush into your heart and steal it before you know what hit you! I love falling for the unlikely hero, and that’s exactly what happened in Dash: Rushing the Play. Dash meets beautiful ballerina Charlie Bardot in college, and their chemistry is explosive. They get their second chance two years later when he’s with the Boston Tomcats, and the sparks fly again in spectacularly hot fashion. They also end up with a huge surprise in the form of an adorable baby (which isn’t a spoiler given the blurb). It was a joy to see Dash grow into a better man, a better teammate, and an amazing father. Their journey brings us lots of laughs, love, tender hearted moments, off the charts heat, and even a few tears. It is wonderful in every way!
Duke: Faking the Play is such a great conclusion to the series. Duke (a grumpy but devoted single dad and man of a million sighs) and Millie (a beautiful, sassy British movie star who is a sparkling ray of sunshine) have the best meet cute – in a British-themed bookshop of all places! Duke’s adorable daughter Chloe is a huge fan of Millie and is so thrilled about the idea of them dating that he goes along with the idea of a fake relationship. Their intense attraction makes the idea of their planned breakup seem bloody awful and has them rethinking their plans. This story is filled with just the right amount of everything - tenderness, laughter, tension, and plenty of steam too.
To borrow Duke’s description of Millie, the stories that Kayley and Connor write are comfort and adventure, all in one. There really is so much to love here! So many thoughtful little moments that made me smile, melt, and swoon. To borrow a line from Millie this time, I had such anticipatory nostalgia as I was reading them - I was aware that I would miss the experience of reading them for the first time even as I was still reading. That is a sure sign of wonderful storytelling!
Everything that is amazing about this series is intensified by the incredible voice acting of the talented cast. These stories have so much steam and wit, all of which is made even swoonier and funnier in audio. There may even be a few tears along the way. It’s perfection all around and you won’t want to miss a second of it!
Dexter: Relationship between Johnny Dexter and Hannah Strong Hannah, the daughter of the owner of the Boston Tomcats, who recently passed, discovers each other after the passing of her father. Hannah, not a lover of football, takes on the trials and tribulations of owning and managing the football team whilst also learning how the game is played. Dexter helps her discover her love for the game, as well as her love for him, whilst making the hard decisions along the way, like trading her one true love so he can end his career on a high.
Dash: Relationship between Dash and Charlie Bardot Football Player and a Professional Ballet Dancer find each other when Dash needs to work on his fancy footwork and learn to calm his anger while playing. Charlie, trying to make ends meet while working hard to get a professional ballet dancer part, takes on teaching Dash his fancy footwork. A few hot and steamy nights later and an unplanned surprise throws life up in the air for both the dancers and the player, in terms of what they both want to achieve out of life, and discovering their life long dreams may not be what its all about.
Duke: Relationship between Callum Duquette and Millie Darden. Single dad Duke, trying to live his life with no distractions other than his daughter Chloe and football. Stubborn hard ass male, hiding from the paps runs into Actress Millie, who is also in disguise, trying to get some alone time in secret. Millie, is also Chloe's one true actress love. Snapped catching Millie after she falls, the two decide to have a fake relationship to stop friends and family pushing unwanted relationships on each other - but pushes love between the two of them. Long distance Relationship, an injury and letting their guards down, Duke and Millie find solace with each other despite their hectic careers.
I'm not a lover of sport novels, especially football, but these three books were a great read and would recommend to anyone. Mild spice, but the overall stories are great.
The.Entire.Series. UGH SOOOOOOOO GOOD. I mostly do audio, so for me the narration was absoltely fantastic and the stories were great. Decker, Dash, and Duke...Hmmm nothing like some Tripple D action lol. JK but seriously I loved all three of these individual stories. The funny banter and spit hit next leval. But- Kayley and Connor's writing always is!
Excellent sports collection! I've never been a fan of football, mainly because I've never been able to understand how the game works, so I must say I totally identified with Hannah's character in Decker. But my absolute favorite book of the series was definitely Duke. Most memorable scenes for me were Duke being happy-drunk and Duke's wedding vows... swoon!!!
Be still my beating heart! This series is simply sweet, adorable and absolutely entertaining. I couldn't get enough of these Boston Tomcats men and their lovely counterparts. Amazing series!
5 star Review The Boston Tomcats Collection (The Boston Tomcats #1-3) by Kayley Loring & Connor Crais
Decker: Changing The Play From the first chapter I was hooked on Johnny Decker and Hannah Strong’s story. I fell hard and fast for Johnny, he is a tad arrogant, swoon worthy and I loved how sassy Hannah was. In fact, I loved these characters, separately and especially together. Johnny is the star quarterback for the Boston Tomcats, whilst Hannah suddenly finds herself the owner of his team when her father dies. I found their fiery enemies to lovers relationship entertaining and it was fun to watch it develop. I found myself laughing on numerous occasions and smiling throughout. The chemistry and heat that burns between Johnny and Hannah was intense and their banter witty. These two were well suited to one another and I liked how Hannah help Johnny realize the depth of his feelings whilst he became supportive and gave guidance to her. The growth of both characters was heart warming to witness. The balance between steam and humour is good and the story flowed well.
Dash: Rushing The Play This is Dash (aka Big D) Taylor and Charlie Bardot’s story. Dash is a rookie defensive end and as such is cocky, arrogant and a player, both on and off the field. I was quickly drawn into this second chance at love story that these authors wove. I really liked both these characters, particularly Charlie who wasn’t afraid to stand up to Dash and call him out when needed. Dash is warned by his coach that if he doesn't stop his antics he will be benched and is made to take ballet to improve his game; (that idea seems so ridiculous to the football player). There is something about Charlie that calls to Dash and it was entertaining to watch the push and pull dynamic play out. Meeting again two years later, Dash is now an NFL player and when they meet again their chemistry is off the charts. Now all Dash has to do is convince Charlie that he is boyfriend material. Complications arise when a surprise pregnancy catches them both off guard and I love dhow Dash stepped up and was so supportive.
Duke: Faking The Play From the first chapter I was hooked on single dad Callum (aka Duke) Duquette and British actress Millie Darden’s story. Duke is a Placekicker for the Boston Tomcats and a former underwear model. As you would expect from a professional footballer he has a bit of an attitude and is cocky and a tad arrogant. However he is also a single dad and his relationship with his daughter Chloe made be swoon. The characters were engaging, the story witty and it ticked all the boxes for me. I really loved Millie, she is someone I could easily see as a friend and I loved how her happiness brought light into Duke’s life, or should I say the Duke of Grumpville which is what she calls him. When they embark on a fake relationship neither realise how their lives are about to change, What happens when fake feelings suddenly become real?
