OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Trent and Kennedy have known one another there whole life's their parents live in the same area. Kennedy's brother Asher Something to Talk About and Trent have been friends with the same group all their lives. Trent and his nine friends, Asher, firefighter, Luke, Doctor, Jagger, owner of Jagged Edge Builder, Tysen, Pilot, Jonny, Owner of Undercover Lovers Night Club Possessing Her, Jude, App Developer, Crew, Engineer, Matthew Lawyer, have been friends since childhood, growing up together, playing baseball through out their childhood. Their friendship is a bond that they've kept connected throughout the years, all coming back to Whispering Oats. Trent is a Detective in the Oak County Police Department, while Kennedy is a data entry clerk but because she has a seven year old daughter Briar she's struggling so she's stripping on weekends to save up for another car. Several months ago when Kennedy's car broke down she pulled into a gas station, only to have Trent knocking on her door. They shared a kiss, then Trent took Kennedy home, they never talked about the kiss and tried to avoid one another. Present day, Kennedy has her brother and parents to look after her daughter Briar when she heads to the strip club. Kennedy is asked to work the back rooms but she refuses. Trent is watching some of the low lives enter the club that Kennedy's is working at. When Trent's captain calls them back into the station because they have enough evidence he heads home for the night. Trent stops off at his parent's house when his dad tells him they need to talk. Trent's dad tells him his grandmother has breast cancer, she doesn't want to do chemo. Trent is given his grandmother's car, her wedding rings and an inheritance from her since he's the only grandchild. Kennedy finds out that her brother is hosting a pool party at his house the following day and he wants her and Briar there. When Kennedy heads to work that night she's asked to go into the back rooms but she stands her ground. When Kennedy gets onstage, she begins to strip until she sees the lights come on, there are several police officers along with other law enforcement they are all yelling for everyone to freeze and hold your hands where they can see them. Trent spots Kennedy right away, she's so embarrassed half her top is off and she was about to take the rest off. When Trent gets to Kennedy he tells her not to say anything then handcuffs her. Trent takes Kennedy out to his squad car and puts her in the back, she asks him for a hoodie and he grabs one of his from the front. Trent heads back inside, is able to get things wrapped up and heads back out to his car taking Kennedy to his home. Trent pulls Kennedy into the shower with him and tells him he's done fighting his attraction for her. Kennedy strips out of her clothes, then Trent carries her to his bedroom. Trent pleasures Kennedy and then they make love. Trent apologies to Kennedy about how he treated her after they kissed a month ago. Kennedy apologies to Trent telling him she could have handled things better. The following day, Kennedy tries to get out of bed but Trent pulls her back against him. Kennedy tells Trent they need to get going he has work while she has her daughter. Trent tells Kennedy that he handled things last night, her family knows about them and the police bust. They both head to Kennedy's parent's house to pick up Briar and talk to her family about their relationship. Kennedy finds out her family is happy about them being together, especially her daughter. All the guys find out about Trent and Kennedy and everyone is happy for them. When Kennedy is walking Briar home she sees a familiar car in her driveway, when Trent sees it he tells her to go back inside. Briar's father is at Kennedy's house and he's insisting on seeing her, but Kennedy tells him he didn't call first. Trent and Asher make sure that Briar's father doesn't see her especially when she doesn't want to. Trent tells Kennedy she needs to make an appointment with Matthew to get things moving on removing him from visitation. When Trent takes Kennedy into her home, she settles Briar into her room, they shut everything off. Trent has flowers, candy and a card waiting for Kennedy in her bedroom. Trent and Kennedy make love. One month later, Trent tries to visit his grandmother every chance he can, Kennedy and Briar have been for visits as well. Kennedy and Briar moved in with Trent a week after they made everything official. When Trent gets home, he finds Kennedy and Briar making dinner. Trent tells Briar he has a question for her then goes down on one knee. Trent asks Briar if she'll accept this ring to be his daughter, and allow him the pleasure of marrying her mother. Briar asks Trent if this means he'll be her daddy and he tells her it does. Trent tells Briar he loves her and she tells him she loves him. Next Trent asks Kennedy if she'll be his wife, and she tells him yes. Kennedy tells him she loves him with everything she is and she's going to love him until she can't love him any longer. Trent tells her he loves her forever. Trent listens as Kennedy and Briar talk about making wedding plans. Later that evening, Trent gets the phone call no one ever is prepared for, but he knows his Gran is in peace and she left him with life lessons, one of them is showing him how to love Kennedy.

I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention the entire time. I loved getting to see Kennedy and Trent get their chance at being together. Trent is one of Kennedy's brother's best friends and while she has had a crush on him for a long time, he has has shut it down and won't go there with her. On the way home from work one night, her car breaks down and of course Trent just happens to be there at the time and they share a kiss but he quickly shuts it down again and so they end up avoiding each other for the next little while. Kennedy is a single mom with an absentee dad for her daughter that is not reliable or around and can't be counted on to get child support in either. With the car breaking down, she ends up taking a second job working as a stripper to put away some cash to build up her savings but has kept it a secret what she is actually doing. Trent regrets pushing her away and as he is ready to go for it and make his move but he is working on a big case and he doesn't expect to need to arrest Kennedy during their bust. He is ready and willing to do whatever it takes to make Kennedy his for sure as well as her daughter. I loved watching these two finally get their shot and work through what they had going on. Once Trent makes up his mind, nothing will stop him either and he is willing to do whatever it takes to make it up to Kennedy and to show her that he is serious and won't run or push her away anymore. This story was a pretty quick read and so things happen at a decent pace. I found it highly entertaining and cute. I loved Briar and Trent's relationship with her as well. This story flowed well and kept me engaged throughout. I can't wait for the next book in the series as well.

I really enjoyed Asher’s book, and I’ve been looking forward to his sister Kennedy’s book ever since. I was a little hesitant after reading the blurb, the fact he arrests her seemed a little too heavy for me, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance! How that scene was written worked really well, and showed how much Trent accepted and admired her with zero judgement. It also showed how much he was willing to shield her and protect her from anything. I really wish Trent had come around to the idea of them sooner, but I think they both needed to go through life first. They were absolutely perfect together, and Trent was exactly the father Briar needed, and I’m glad we got to see a little bit of that. No cheating or OM/OW drama, lite breeding kink, dual POV, HEA and an epilogue in the future. I do wish we got to see a little bit more of what happened with Chris, but overall this book was a page turner for me. So much happened and oh so steamy! I don’t really like second chance romance, so I’m not sure how I’m going to feel about Johnny’s book coming up. From the preview he seems kind of like a jerk. But I felt the same thing about this one and really enjoyed it, so I’m keeping an open mind and looking forward to reading it!

This is book one in the author’s new Tangled in Temptation series. A series in which nine guys, friends since childhood, are still best friends and all co-own a business together. Not only that but the series is also loosely interconnected with the Rowdy Johnson Boys series and, I for one, am ecstatic, I was nowhere near ready to say goodbye.

Trent, one of the nine, is now a police officer and had always been attracted to Kennedy, one of his best friend’s little sister, but let her slip away. He’s got a second chance now and he’s not making that mistake again!

Oh my gosh, I loved this book!! Trent was uncompromising in his plan to claim Kennedy and not let her push him away but he does it in a way that didn’t have him behaving like an alpha a-hole and had me falling for him right along with Kennedy.

I don’t mind saying, Trent is one of my favorite MMCs; seriously, I could read about that man over and over and over. I think I’ve probably thought that about most all of the author’s heroes, but, in my defense, not a lot of authors can write an MMC like Ms. Baker—and there are a lot of fans out there who would agree.

I hope you’ll give it a try, see for yourself what all the fuss is about. 5 stars!

There is a group of nine men who grew up together in Whispering Oaks. They are all living back in town. Together, they own Jagged Edge Construction even though Jagger started the business and heads up all projects.

Kennedy Fontaine is a 33 year old single mother to 6 year old Briar. She is Asher’s younger sister. One night she worked late because Briar was at a sleepover with Kennedy’s mom and stepfather Mike. Her car starts acting up, but she manages to make it to the well-lit parking lot of a gas station.

Trent Hawthorne taps on her window. He is one of her brother Asher’s best friends. Trent is the one man that she has always wanted but can’t have. He is a 39 year old detective in the Oak County Police Department and happens to be getting gas. She gets out of her car and lies to him that she and the car are fine. They end up kissing and then Trent tells her to get in his car. He knows she lied and tells her that he will drive her home and have her car towed to Mike’s house.

Kennedy rents her soon to be sister in law Lennie’s house which is next door to Asher’s. It is three weeks later, and she has to temporarily use her mom’s car because hers can not be fixed. She wishes that Briar’s father Chris would be more consistent with child support payments because it would make her life easier. During the day, Kennedy works as a data entry clerk. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, her family thinks she works at a college bar. In reality, she is working as a stripper at The Velvet Lounge. The state of Florida does not allow full nudity while dancing in the main bar area and that is all Kennedy does. She does not do lap dances or do private dances in the back rooms. The extra money is great, and she almost has enough for a down payment for a used car and a little extra saved for emergencies.

Trent is working on a big case. The target, DeMarco, happens to own The Velvet Lounge. Kennedy is on stage when the authorities bust DeMarco and his top men. Trent puts Kennedy in handcuffs and puts her in the back of his cop car. He tells his captain who Kennedy is and the captain tells Trent to make sure to get her statement. Trent takes Kennedy to his house and tells her that he is the only one who will ever get to watch her dance like that especially on Valentine’s Day.

I loved how Trent took charge and protected Kennedy. It was obvious that these two were meant for each other and I loved that Trent wanted not only Kennedy but Briar to be his.

This book is tad angsty and super hot, like supernova hot. Trent and Kennedy have been dancing around each other for years, denying their feelings, and trying to hide them from both friends and family. She let one of his previous rejections send her into the arms of another which resulted in her daughter Briar, the one good thing to come out of that relationship. Now, Trent has kissed her passionately, only to reject her yet again. Kennedy is determined to avoid him or at least ice him out since he is close friends with her brother. Then an unexpected and dangerous incident has Trent rescuing Kennedy again, but this time he has decided it is finally time to claim her, regardless of any objections or disapproval from their close knit group. And claim her he does, rather thoroughly. It seems everyone has been waiting for him to get his act together because neither his nor Kennedy’s feelings and attraction have escaped their notice.

I love a growly, dominant and very protective hero, which describes Trent very well. His easy and comfortable interactions with young Briar tug at my heartstrings. He finally got out of his own way, set aside any guilt and regrets, and claimed the woman who has loved him for years. Kennedy is fiercely independent and loathes asking for or receiving help, even if she is drowning financially. That independence put her in a situation where she needed rescuing from Trent. When he finally makes a move to claim her, they certainly create plenty of heat and steam!

I am happy to recommend this sizzling book.

Can I have a Trent in my life please? Okay, hubbie wouldn't like that but it doesn't hurt to ask as he rolls his eyes at me. This really was one of those books where you can totally feel the tension, feel for the characters and comiserate that you have felt like this at least once in your life. Trent is her Brother's best friend. He feels like he would be crossing a line if he gave in to his love for Kennedy and Kennedy thinks he doesn't feel that way about her so she does the keep away avoidance thing.

Kennedy is incredibly independant, an independance you can admire, and tries her best to not rely on friends or family as she raises her daughter Briar. I loved the real feel that you get while reading about Kennedy. You completely understand why she does what she does. (I will not spoil it.)

Trent has held onto his want of Kennedy for what is probably years. There are lil bits of info throughout that shows how long and who knows about it (I will not spoilt it.)

Overall, this is a yes, read it from me. I know you will enjoy it. HEA guaranteed.

**Oh, I must point out that there are a lot of best friends in Kennedys brothers best friend group so hang on for the other books. Kennedy and Trent

From word go with this book I was excited, seeing these characters in other books of the authors I was ready for Kennedy’s happily ever after. Kennedy is a single mom to a beautiful little girl named Briar. She has had to put herself out there a lot more since Briar’s father isn’t in the picture. She works two jobs because things keep piling up around her but she doesnt like to ask for help or take offers from her friends and family.

Trent is a cop, he loves his family and loves his friends. He’s always had a soft spot for Kennedy and Briar but he’s never pushed it because he’s also best friend with her brother. Trent finds her on the side of the road one night on his way home and they have a moment that he pulls back from first and it sends their relationship in a bit of a downward spiral. Fast forward to Valentine’s Day and they both get the shock of the night. Not gonna lie though once they got past that and was at Trents home it was REAL HOT. The two care so much about each other that when things came out that they were together people just thought it was about time and it was inevitable.

A brother’s best friend that goes from that kiss was a mistake to mine, always you, and move on in, in an out of nowhere, a little embarrassing, and sweetly protective heartbeat! Trent’s been playing the we can’t he’s my best friend excuse for years and Kennedy has been completely trapped in a he doesn’t want me like that gotta get over my crush vicious cycle but one police take down and it is on. It’s single mom, I love them both, sexy, sweet, finally they’re together, small town romance fabulousness, and if that’s not enough, little Briar surely seals the deal on this being a completely heartwarming, fantastic read, when she puts her adorable art skills to work and makes it clear how she feels about things.
Love when a man finally sees everything clearly and all those little reasons he’s been holding back fly right out the window, and this one has that in spades. Trent sees the light, swoops on in, and then claims Kennedy’s heart and yours with lots of protectiveness, plenty of swoon, and some seriously cute, and you most definitely don’t want it back.

Watching her struggle with her independence while also wanting to be the best mom possible, Kennedy pushes through all the obstacles life has thrown her way—and somehow finds herself in deeper than she could have imagined. The tension between Kennedy and Trent grows more intense with each turn of the page, and then the blaze turns into a conflagration all bets are off. These two are absolute fire together—their chemistry and connection is intense and grows by the moment. I LOVE how author Tory Baker crafts her leading ladies as independent, self-sufficient, caring, and brilliant while her alpha-heroes are growly, protective, respectful, and filthy in the best ways. This short and hot novella is downright delicious!.

Undercover lovers book 2, We met Kennedy and Trent in book 1(Something to Talk About), she’s Asher’s sister and he’s one of his best friends. They always had chemistry, together for a brief period but the time wasn’t right therefore Kennedy moved on and had Briar. They were always meant to be together so when Kennedy finds herself in trouble Trent is the one who comes to her rescue. Will Trent wake up and realise she’s always meant to be his? This was a great read with wonderful MCs, Kennedy was sassy, a strong single mother with balls of steel that does anything for her daughter, a wonderful group of childhood friends and family, tinged with a little bit of sadness but a whole load of steam and the sweetest hea. The local detective is on fire for his best friend’s sister and together they sizzled. Can’t wait for Joseph’s story, having gotten a glimpse of his predicament at the end of this book.

Even the little girl.
You know, this head-in-the-sand attitude like ostrich does!

Furthermore, he's totally captivated by her,
he has that need to carry her burden,
he needs her by his side, with all his heart, for ever!

She, on the other hand, is also captivated by him.
She opens her heart and soul for him to see everything.
She's ecstatic they finally have an "us, we, together"...
and between the way he busted her ash that night which changed everything
and the gossip and teases from their family and friends
the best part is they finally will live for the three of them!!!

Kennedy has had feelings for her brother’s best friend Trent for years however he has made it clear that he may have feelings for her but he won’t act on them so instead she focuses on being a single mother to her daughter Briar. While working at a second job she finds herself in the middle of a raid which will force her and Trent to face their feelings for each other.

Trent has been denying his feelings for Kennedy and her daughter but when his job in law enforcement collides with her second job, he is no longer willing to stand on the sidelines but if determined to finally claim her as his own.

Once Trent decides he is in he is all in and isn’t about to let anything stand in their way. The chemistry between them is intense and the feeling heartfelt. I am looking forward to more stories centered around this captivating group of friends.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Trent and Kennedy. Trent is a police officer and Kennedy is Asher's sister, who we met in a previous book. Trent is also one of Asher's best friends and he is in love with Kennedy and her daughter. Kennedy is also in love with Trent, but he made it clear he couldn't be with her. Kennedy is trying to raise her daughter without help from anyone, so she decides to try stripping to make some money, only unknown to her, Trent and his fellow officers are watching the strip club for a case. When Trent raids the club, he is shocked to see Kennedy, Trent knows that it is time to claim Kennedy and he doesn't care who objects. I loved this story. I loved Trent and Kennedy together. I think they both knew it was time to be together. I love that he loved her daughter too. Another great one.

Woohoo i have been waiting for this book and let me tell you it was absolutely fantastic and you might want to have a tissue on hand at the end of this book. Trent has been fighting his feelings for a long time for his best friends sister, but when he catches her in a raid will he finally make his move? Kennedy has been through so much a single mom working 2 jobs and crushing on her brothers best friend but will she let her guard down when least expect it? It's such a great story that will definitely have you engrossed from the beginning until the end and you definitely connect with the characters pain and emotions that will have you feeling like part of the story. Absolutely loved it.

When we were first introduced to Kennedy and her daughter Briar in Kennedy’s brother’s book I was dying to get my hands on her story. Trent is best friends with Kennedy’s brother and has been in love with her for years. Kennedy is a single mom to an adorable daughter Briar. She is independent and almost always refuses help from her family. She is juggling two jobs trying to provide for her daughter.

When Trent’s job as a detective puts him right with Kennedy’s path unexpectedly, he finally realizes he can’t fight his feelings anymore. I loved how Trent was all Alpha but was also a cinnamon roll around Briar. Their story was fast paced, full of heat and heart.

I can’t wait for Johnny’s story next, that previous has me on the edge of my seat!!!!

I loved His Valentine Book 1 of Tangled in Temptation (Undercover Lovers, book 2). Trent has pushed Kennedy away again and he regrets it, he can’t do anything about it with his case right now but he will. Kennedy is just trying to keep her head above the water, she’s taken a job that her family wouldn’t be proud of but the money is helping. She’s avoiding Trent as much as she can, until she can’t and he basically has to save her. He’s don’t running away, he doesn’t care, he’s claiming his woman and her kid. Will Kennedy forgive him and is she ready to face the future with him? I loved the story and the characters. I would definitely recommend this book.

I love loosing myself in a romance with a HEA, especially when you get spice and the guy finally has the DUH moment.

As a single Mom, Kennedy will do anything for her daughter, and when money is tight she takes a job that earns her cash, but may not be something you put on your resume. She has been attracted to Trent for years but knows he doesn’t return her feelings, so a daughter and awful baby daddy later she resigns herself to friendship. Trent has one focus in life, his career. But after a run in with Kennedy he can’t hold back any longer, so when he handcuffs Kennedy at her job he isn’t planning on letting her go.

Love the story, the characters and a saucy six year old.

Tory Baker is one of my favorite authors and I love her books. This story is book 2 in her new Love Undercover series. Trent is best friends with Kennedy’s older brother, but they’ve had feelings for each other for years. Now Kennedy is a single mom and she’s working two jobs to get by since her ex never seems to be able to pay his child support. Trent is a detective and is finally ready to claim Kennedy as his woman…just as soon as his current case wraps up, only the first person he sees when they raid a strip joint is Kennedy on stage. Wow! Hot and sexy, these two really were meant to be. It’s a sweet story that includes 9 best friends and sweet little girl named Briar. Loved it! Can’t wait for Johnny’s story up next.

This book is a part of the Tangled in Temptation series and focuses on Trent and Kennedy. Kennedy is Asher’s (from Something to Talk About) younger sister and a single mom to an adorable daughter. She is fiercely independent and determined to make the best possible life for her daughter. She has wanted Trent for years and he has wanted her for just as long but he pushed her away due to his friendship with her brother. All it takes is one night for Trent to finally go after the woman that he has known was meant for him and make her his. He knows that Kennedy is his and he loves her daughter just like his own. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

Kennedy is a single mom with a cute, special darling for a daughter. She is loved by many. Kennedy married the wrong man. That’s an interesting story which you will hear about. It has made Kennedy stronger, more determined to succeed. She is living with her brother and his fiance’. She is working two jobs to try and get ahead so they can afford an apartment. One thing it has not done is make her stop loving the man she should have married - Trent. Trent wasn’t ready to get married when Kennedy was and now after her divorce - he is determined to let her know he is ready and he has always loved her. What he wasn’t counting on - grams getting weaker, working a stakeout, arresting Kennedy! It’s all such a good read! Trent and Kennedy have always loved each other. And who wouldn’t love the little sweetheart!.

An unexpected romance and unique proposal! This is about Kennedy, her daughter Briar, and her brother's best friend, Trent. Kennedy is a strong woman trying her best to be there for her daughter, but holding two jobs does not cut it when her car breaks down, and she refuses money from her family. She ends up taking another job that she doesn't want anyone finding out, but with her luck, the one that finds her is Trent, and he is done waiting around when a precious life is about to go, and he realizes that time is not on your side. The story's ending is so touching that it had me in tears, but the proposal had me balling the most. I love this story and can't wait to read about Johnny and Winnie!

I really liked the storyline, and the characters. Great main characters, and the rest of the characters. They all interact so well and they all are just great well thought out characters. Trent is a great character and really loves Kennedy but just thinking about what others think to do anything about it. His Nanna is such a sweet old lady and she really helped Trent when he needed it the most. Kennedy loves Trent and is scared that he doesn't like her. The lack of communication between them is stupid. Then the worst thing happens to Kennedy and Trent finally steps up and is all in finally. The rest of her family reactions are shocking to them and its great to read. Great book. loved it. recommend.

This is the first book in the new series Tangled in Temptation. We met Trent in the previous series, he and his nine best friends since childhood and also co-own a business together. He’s always had feelings for one of his best friend’s little sister, Kennedy. She’s had feelings for him too so when he doesn’t step up she kisses him. He tried to distance himself after that until he’s doing a raid and she’s in the middle of it. At this point, he realizes they have something special and he wants to step up and take care of her and her daughter and make them his own. Can’t wait to see what comes next in the series.

Tory always offers characters that have the kind of chemistry that literally jumps off the page and makes you feel invested in their story from the start. Trent and Kennedy have hidden feelings that burst forth when he has to arrest her. Kennedy is willing to do almost anything to keep her and her daughter afloat. Circumstances make everything clear to Trent and he will make sure Kennedy and Briar are his forever. Hot steam, lol moments, family, perseverance, acceptance, possessiveness and so much love lead to a wonderful HEA.
