No last names. No consequences. Just one hot escape from my life.
Nash Nightingale was devastating, intense, and made me forget I’d just caught my boyfriend cheating on me. I lied about everything to escape my misery. And when morning came and Nash found out… he threw me out.
I never expected to see him again…
Until Nash walked into my workplace and shattered me with a single proposition. He’s a billionaire developer who can have any woman he wants. He's calculating. Bossy. And he's offering me half a million dollars to become his wife on paper so he can collect a mysterious inheritance.
I know I should walk away. But when he lays out the contract—six months of playing pretend, public appearances, infrequent cuddling to sell the lie—I say yes.
Because my daughter deserves a future I can't give her on my own.
Because Nash looks at me like I'm still that woman from four years ago—the one who had him wrapped around her finger.
Six months. Half a million dollars. Carefully drawn rules to keep this business only.
What could possibly go wrong?
This is book #2 in the Nightingales of Wall Street series. If you like poor boys turned good billionaires fighting to make their corner of the world a better place while falling for stubborn and sassy heroines, then you’ll love this series. Each book has a HEA and can be read as a standalone though there is cumulative drama throughout the series.
Okay it was really good! This is the first time I've read a book of Ember and she did a pretty good job. The plot was nice and the characters, Nash and Clara were written really well. The miscommunication was..meh But overall, it's a decent read.
Thank you so much Ember and Quirky Heart PR for the ARC 🩷
Book 53✨ of the #2025readingchallenge is Bossy Billionaire by @emberleighauthor (and also an ARC as this baby releases tomorrow!) 👰🏻♀️💍💵
“I’m never going to be the waifish Hampton mom who goes to Pilates at seven a.m. and wears a size zero and has it all together. Even when I’m financially stable. I’m just not.” I held her arms, looking deep into her beautiful eyes. “I’m not asking you to be.”
I am so honoured to have been chosen to review this ARC! I fell absolutely head over heels for Nash and Clara and their insta love trope. Im gunna be honest, I also loved the billionaire trope too! It was my first and there’s just something about a financially stable guy taking care of a damsel in distress. The spice level was ideal but didn’t start until about half way through. I was obsessed with the fact that Clara is a woman with curves. It’s not often that the FMC is more than a size 2. It was especially fun reading how she incorporated this aspect into the spicy scenes. I have major respect for Ember showcasing all the body positivity! I will definitely be adding the remainder of this series to my never ending TBR. A perfect fluffy spicy read to finish the year off with. Thank you for the advanced copy @emberleighauthor 💕
I received and advanced copy of “Bossy Billionaire” from the author Nash and Clara met four years ago and shared a steamy one night with each other and when he found out she lied he loved her out. Nash ended up proposing that they help each other out because he needed her and she needed him since her ex was a jerk. They had several miscommunications but in the end worked it out and got their happily ever after and I can’t wait for the next book
I really enjoyed this book! It was such an easy read and although it was predictable it was fun. I enjoyed Clara & Nash’s story although ngl he stressed me out with his childish behaviour.
I loved all the little twists especially the ending! Although I would love to know how the committee found out about the contract.

Bossy Billionaire grabbed ahold of my heart and would not let go. This is book 2 in Ember Leigh’s series, The Nightingales of Wall Street. I had been craving this story since I finish the first book, Broken Bodyguard.
Ember DID NOT disappoint.
This story is about Nash Nightingale and Clara Whitehall.
Nash in my eyes is almost the perfect man. Loyal, determined, honest, faithful, protective, has strong morals, he’s an amazing brother. Insert all positive adjectives here. However he isn’t without flaws. Nash suffers from fear of abandonment. Stemming from a young age brought on by his biological father. This causes him to run from attachments. The I’ll leave them before they can leave me and I get hurt.
I fell in love with Nash almost instantly. The way Ember writes her MMCs, you just can’t help but fall hard and fast. Nash captured me a little more than other book boyfriends because I can relate to his abandonment issues. I just felt a deeper connection to him through this.
Clara is one amazing woman. Despite everything life has tossed at her and all the current struggles she is facing, she is determined to do whatever it takes to take care of her daughter. She refuses to quit.
Trust me when I say little Mia steals every scene she’s in.
4 years ago Nash and Clara meet at a hotel bar. A chance meeting. Nash is gearing up for a next day meeting and Clara has just caught her boyfriend cheating on her. They connect almost immediately and spend one amazing night together. But come morning, truths are revealed and feelings betrayed, they horribly part ways.
4 years later they happen upon another chance meeting. Clara is part of the staff at a celebration for Nash. Clara is once again down on her luck, this time with a horrible boss and a guest that let’s say isn’t very kind to her; and Nash steps in to help her out.
Now having been in contact with each other again even briefly that connection flares to life.
Nash and his twin brother own their own developers company and are in need to some desperate cash to help close some important deals. So when he is informed of an inheritance but with certain stipulations he turns to Clara for help.
Clara is in need of some desperate money herself to be able to financially continue to take care of Mia without working multiple jobs and still not quite making it. So when Nash offers half a million to become his legal wife, in which will no doubt get her beyond back on her feet, how can she say no.
Now they just have to prove to everyone their marriage is real. Can they keep things professional while pulling off the façade or will lines be crossed.
My emotions were all over the place and I might have gasped a little at a twist. Now that this has been devoured, I’m eagerly waiting for book 3 to release! It’s good to help strengthen my patience.
My favorite word in the whole book - Naff! ♥️
You need to read this! Once you do and you’re waiting for book 3 with me, you should read Ember’s The Bad Boys of Wall Street series if you haven’t already!
🌟 Thanks to @quirkychimera and @emberleighauthor for the ARC.
🔥“Don’t do that again, unless you’re okay with thirty strangers seeing you grabbing your ankles in this lobby.”
🔥 "Only the best for my girls."
🔥 "I love YOU. Your strength, your kindness, your limitless grace. That booty, too."
🔥 "Since day one, babe"
Trying to forgot about the betrayal from her cheating ex-boyfriend, Clara embarks in a passionate one-night stand with a handsome stranger - billionaire developer, Nash Nightingale. When he discovers she lied about her identity, he swiftly kicks her out the next morning. Four years later, Clara is now a single mom struggling to make ends meet. After getting fired from her latest job, she never expects to run into Nash. Although he still has trust issues when it comes to Clara's deceit all those years ago, he needs her help to obtain his inheritance. With a marriage contract that is mutually beneficial to both parties, will the pair be able to sell their marriage as authentic to the public while keeping their relationship as strictly business?
This is the second book in the "Nightingales of Wall Street" series and, in my typical fashion, this is the first I've read. I think this story can absolutely be read as a standalone but I do plan on going back and reading the first book - and can't wait to read the next in the series. I loved how the Nightingales aren't your typical billionaires and use their power and wealth to help underprivileged communities - while still being brutal businessmen. I appreciated that Clara wasn't just a damsel in distress and had knowledge in real estate and development and held her own in Nash's world. She did drive me a bit insane with some of her choices - trying not to include Mia in their scheme and the whole fiasco with the custody. Nash is a total sweetie at heart and his immediate connection to Clara's daughter, Mia, was a joy to read. However, his reaction to the custody issue almost made me change my mind about him but the resolution made up for it - and I can forgive him based on his past. The chemistry and banter between Nash and Clara was great and had me rooting for their second chance romance. The ending plot twist genuinely surprised me and has me excited for the next installment in the series.
💍 Marriage of Convenience 💕 Second Chance 😍 Plus Size FMC 💕 Single mom 🥺 Angst 💰 Billionaire Romance 🔥 Spice
WOWZA!! Ember just took me on one heck of a rollercoaster ride! I was drawn in from the first page and hated to put this book down. I fell in love with these characters so easily. This book had me laughing, swooning, smiling, getting mad, having some emotional moments but in the end left me with my JAW ON THE FLOOR!!! There was a twist at the end I didn't see coming! Thank you for that Ember!
Four years ago Nash and Clara have a one night stand but it doesn't end. well. Now four years later Nash and his twin brother Archer are having a corporation party and the woman he hasn't seen since that night four years ago is working here. As soon as he sees Clara he's drawn back to that night and the chemistry they shared together.
Clara is a single mom to a little girl named Mia. Her ex husband is an absentee father and is never around. Of course while she's trying to work her daughters daycare calls telling her that she's sick and need to go home. She's only had this job a few days but has no choice. Then an unfortunate situation takes place and they fire her anyway.
Now Nash and Archer get a call saying they will get an inheritance if he marries for love. So he reaches out to Clara to fake a marriage in return he will help her financially. But these two have such amazing chemistry that there is no faking this relationship. But as their relationship blossoms Nash's business is going down the drain thanks to a man named Cross. Everything's falling apart and he doesn't know how to deal with it all even with Clara being by his side.
This book will take you on one heck of a rollercoaster ride. There are a lot of ups and downs but it's worth all of it. These two have such great chemistry that no matter whats going on your rooting for these two! I HIGHLY recommend this book and I can't wait for Archer's story next!
Thank you Ember Leigh for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
If you like poor boys made millionaire and hint of Cinderella story then this one is the one. Nash and his twin brother Archer have worked their way up into making something of themselves. Nash is smart, calculated and lives to be in control. Clara is a single mum with a lazy ex that doesn't support her in any way. She gave up her career to be a mum. Trying to make end meet she is working many jobs, one of them was a catering job. This is where she meets her ONS from 4 years ago. The man she could never forget. The man that sent her away the next day. If there is one thing Nash despises is liars. Due to his abandonment by his father that lied about himself, that stings. So when he found out she gave him a fake persona he had to send her away despite feeling so much for her in one night. Now he has been given a mysterious inheritance with a stipulation of getting married for Love. He need that fund to fight off his enemy Sebastian. She needs help with rent etc. They have abundance of chemistry, so surely it won't be very hard to pull off? They were so good together and he definitely falls 1st and hard. But there is too many complications. Can they overcome it all and actually have what they want? I loved his bond and banter with his brother. Loved her little girl Mia and her relationship with 'Daddy Naff' (Nash). There is a lot of tension regarding their business, relationships, ex's and their own emotions. Lots of twist and that revelation at the end left me gobsmacked. I won't say much but I really loved the whole story. There is 3rd act break up but I don't think Nash should be fully to blame, Clara did make a big mistake too. I will let you decide. Now I can't wait for Archer's story and I'm intrigued about certain other character, who I won't name.
Bossy Billionaire follows Nash Nightingale, who after learning about a multiple billion dollar inheritance from a grandfather Nash and his twin brother, Archer Nightingale, never met - let alone knew about, Nash finds himself in need of a wife. For in order to secure his inheritance, he needs to marry by the 31st December.
I don’t think I could give enough justice of how much I enjoyed reading this book. The characters made the book so entertaining to read. As twins, Nash and Archer have the whole twin telepathy going on, as well as having a very strong relationship; which makes for some very entertaining moments between them, especially when teasing each other, as well as other people. Mixing in the intense chemistry between Nash and Clara made this a very enticing read.
It is very obvious from the beginning that Nash has abandonment issues, as such he correlates lying with being abandoned. Just like his father, who lied to his mother about who he was, only to find out that he was already married with children, and walked out when he found out that his mother was pregnant with them. Which is why, when he learns from Clara that she had lied about her name and career status, he cut her out completely - despite the way he felt about her.
As I reached the end of the book, I did have questions as to who the members of the committee are, who judged Nash and Clara’s relationship; as well as how Preston, and his legal team, came to questioning whether Clara had signed an NDA. As well as what is Preston’s link to Sebastian Cross, and/or the Cross family. But, seeing as this book is part of a series, I’m hoping that some of these lingering questions will get answered.
In all, Bossy Billionaire is well worth a read. Filled with passion and family. If you are looking for an intense romance read, this is one I would recommend.
I received an ARC from the author, and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Bossy Billionaire was one of those reads that had me smiling, sighing, and occasionally wanting to shake the characters... in the best way. I love a billionaire romance that is more than just money and power, and Ember Leigh gave us that. Nash is intense, determined, and absolutely stubborn, but there is softness underneath that sharp exterior that makes him incredibly easy to root for. Clara is a plus-size FMC who stands her ground, knows her worth even when life keeps knocking her down, and I adored how capable she was in her own career lane instead of being written as helpless.
Their tension feels real. Their banter is fun. And once the second-chance contract marriage arrangement kicks in, things get messy fast in the most addicting way. I loved that Nash stepped up as a father figure without hesitation and that Mia felt like part of the story instead of a prop. There were moments where I questioned a few decisions on both sides, but watching them work through trust, abandonment fears, and the weight of their pasts made their connection feel earned.
The spice hits at the right moments, not overly graphic but still satisfying, especially with Clara’s confidence and body positivity shining through. It is refreshing to see a romance where curves exist, are loved, and are celebrated.
Overall, this book gave me everything I wanted in a billionaire romance with heart. A little angsty, a little sweet, with a couple that fight, heal, and choose each other again. I will definitely be continuing this series.
Incredibly entertaining and heart-wrenching, with a three year old that steals the show, this book had me from the beginning and kept me hooked to the very last page.
Clara Whitehall was at the end of her rope trying to make ends meet to provide for her three year old daughter. Her ex, Preston, was a useless father causing her to lose several jobs. Then she runs into her one night stand from the night she learned of Preston’s infidelity. The man who kicked her out of their suite when he discovered her lies. Now, he suddenly has a proposal that can help them both financially. But, can she trust him?
Nash Nightingale owns Nightly Developments with his twin, Archer. Their goal is to help the lower and middle class folks in Manhattan by keeping their neighborhoods affordable. When they are contacted regarding the estate of a paternal grandfather they never knew, they were only mildly curious, until they suddenly find themselves in need of the money.
Surrounded by mounting problems requiring the kind of money even billionaire twins don’t have enough of, the Nightingale brothers come up with a plan that involves at least one of them finding a legitimate wife, and fast. But, secrets and lies may destroy so much more than business deals, especially when a three year old is involved.
Wow - loved it! Bossy Billionaire by Ember Leigh was definitely worth the read and it had me hooked pretty much from the get go. The plot was detailed and well constructed and suitably paced throughout with plenty of twists and turns to keep me turning the pages. The main characters, Nash and Clara, are engaging and well developed with their chemistry still sizzling even after a failed past encounter. The mutual attraction they both still harbour towards each other lends itself to some steamy interactions amongst all the personal issues and insecurities that Nash and Clara have to overcome to progress their relationship. The angst and drama they both feel and face along with the business challenges and villains they encounter ensured I was thoroughly invested in their HEA. The support characters, either family, friend or foe added another layer to the story which all contributed to the ups and downs of emotions that come with wanting and finding love, commitment, stability, and family. Overall Bossy Billionaire is a great, entertaining romance read delivering on the feel good factor and a satisfying HEA. I would recommend this book and look forward to the next title in the series to continue certain aspects of the drama explored here.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.
Tropes: One night stand Single mum OM drama/nasty ex Arranged marriage Marriage of convenience Second chance/redemption Protective hero
This was gorgeous… easily, one of my top reads for the year , and there’s not much time to knock it off…
You kind of know what’s coming, but you don’t know how, so you will find yourself second-guessing and even just trying to understand the underlying cause of certain events…. Spoiler: you won’t.
The chemistry is strong with them, however her ‘betrayal’ 4 years earlier is an absolutely contrived situation, and the hero was a bit of a zero based on his thoughts at that point. He did redeem… but unfortunately… 2 steps back… regularly.
Which brings me to the dreaded 3rd act breakup…. It was kind of needed for the storyline. Nash needed to get his head out of his you-know-what, and it was the only time I raged..
the saving point for him…. Little Mia loves her ‘Naff’, and he loves her right back. The constant ‘My girls’ was gorgeous, and the way he embraced Mia from the start…? Swoon….
Overall, twists and turns, secrets, betrayals, and ongoing storyline… With a twist!! I wondered…. and now I can’t wait for the next…. and for Sebastian to get a little comeuppance.
Absolutely giddy reading this!! A standalone in the Nightingales of Wall Street series, this is book 2 and the story of Nash Nightingale and Clara. At the heart of this story, is a marriage of convenience but not one you’re expecting. It’s a second chance, a redemption for Clara walking away, and family found for Nash. (FYI Mia is just the sweetest). I adored this book, the way Clara, despite her reservations, stood by Nash, silently supporting him in everything and the way Nash was so protective of his two girls…. My wife was used a lot! - hot! But I have to say, some of the best bits came from Nash and his twin Archers banter, ridiculously deadpan banter that’s impossible not to join in the laughter. Brilliant read and I’m already itching for Archer’s story! Come on Archie!
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own
Bossy Billionaire by Ember Leigh was my first book by this author. Wow! The characters of Nash and Emma were so easy to relate to and root for their happy ending. Their attraction just sizzled. Billionaire developer Nash wants to access an unexpected inheritance to keep an area from being regentrified. He and his brother both have the opportunity to get an inheritance and Nash commits. he runs into a previous one night stand, Cora and decides she can help him meet the requirements. Cora decides to go along because of her attraction and financial need to keep her and her 3 year old daughter afloat. The story is well written with no typos (Yay!!), well developed and the political machinations are interesting. The additional characters of the greedy developer Sebastian, Nash's twin brother Archer, and Cora's best friend Zoey help create a truly complete novel. This is not just a quick read, it is a true page turning enjoyment.
4.5 stars for Nash and Clara Another fabulous book in this series that can also stand alone. It's so easy to get immersed in Ember's books, I really have to make sure before I start to read them that I have no plans or I know I'll be late (or cancel). A little bit of mystery, some desperation, a lot of toddler cuteness, and tons of chemistry between the main characters going on in this story. The feelings in each scene are so relatable, even if the circumstances aren't. Plus, I love the way the brothers bicker so much, I can't wait to read the next book to see how much more they taunt each other!!!
I received an advanced copy of the book and am leaving an honest review.
My rating system: 5=will read again 4=recommend to everyone 3=recommend to anyone liking that particular writing style/trope 2=do not recommend 1=DNF
This book grabs your attention from the beginning and is a real page turner! Nash Nightingale and Clara Whitehall have a history and circumstances bring them back together. A lot has changed since their first encounter and they agree to a fake relationship that they believe will be beneficial for them both. The chemistry between them never diminished and there are plenty of steamy, sexy encounters! The challenges they both face on the personal and professional business side of their relationship brings the uncertainty and twists that keeps you engaged with what happens next. I definitely recommend this one! Looking forward to next book in the series.
I was provided an early copy for my honest review.
So Clara runs into her one night stand Nash while she was working (she was a caterer) at his new opening for his business. Nash made Clara a offer she couldn’t refuse: to be his fake wife for inheritance reasons
These two definitely have chemistry off the charts that didn’t stop when they met 4 years ago. I love how Nash is so passionate about Clara even though they are in an arrange marriage contract. Definitely makes me swoon how Nash is very patient with Clara’s little girl Mia like she’s his own.
Even when everything went wrong Nash knew he made a mistake and couldn’t live without Clara. That’s how strong their chemistry is and I LOVE IT
Wow the ending literal plot twist with my jaw dropping 🤯
When a single mom that is struggling comes face to face with the one night stand that actually made her feel something for the first time everything she knows will change. Nash needs an inheritance from some long lost family and Clara just needs some stability. What neither of them plan is for this marriage of convince to become the comfort they both desperately need. In good Ember Leigh fashion she rips your heart out with the little vulnerabilities and the small moments. The little cameos and the end that makes you dying for the next book. I cannot see how the story continues for the Nightingale brothers.
OMG I just fell in love with Nash and Clara and I was so sad when this book ended. A connection four years in the making and then when they finally meet again the old sparks come to life once more and when Nash is in a predicament, Clara is only too happy to help and fake a marriage in order of for Nash to obtain an inheritance. Their story is wild with so much going on and it feels that everyone is conspiring against them but the one thing that can’t be stopped is their true love for each other. The emotions were very high with this book but it was such a great story it made me believe in fairytales. Loved this book and I am so excited for the next in this amazing series.
Another amazing book from Ember. I loved the chemistry between Clara and Nash, they complimented each other perfectly. The rest of the characters were great too, especially Archer and little Mia (who I was very disappointed to find out wasn’t actually Nash’s). The final reveal I did guess, but was timed perfectly to set the scene for the next book (which I cannot wait for now) Anyone who likes a second chance, fake wedding romance will love this book. I was gifted a free ARC of the book by Ember, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Bossy Billionaire is an engaging read. I really liked the storyline and will definitely go back to read the first book in this series.
Clara and Nash are well written characters. She is a single mom struggling to make ends meet. So when Nash approaches her with a chance to help her life, she says yes. As they navigate a fake marriage, a few obstacles pop up but the way these two work together was sweet.
Between vulnerable moments and the found family, it was easy to enjoy these two. The banter between Nash and Archer was so much fun.
If you are looking for single mom, second chance romance billionaire MMC this book is for you! After finding out Clara lied about who she was and what she does Nash cuts her off completely.
Now as a single mom Clara barely got her stuff together when she ran into Nash who had a deal for her.
When nash sees Clara he has this sparks that never died, and seeing her again he knew the connection could fool the open eyes for his inheritance and so he came up with a deal for Clara. But along the way he falls for Clara and builds a bond with her Daughter.
Second chance with the hot and bossy billionaire !!
Clara meets Nash after she finds out her boyfriend has been cheating. After their ONS ends horribly the next morning and Nash throws her out. 4 years later they cross paths again. Nash needs a wife for his inheritance and he says that he could sell his feelings for Clara to the world for 6 months. Clara is struggling financially to maintain a life for her and her daughter Mia without working multiple jobs. Feelings get stronger day by day while outside forces try to tear Nash’s world apart. Angst, drama and spice 10 out 10 recommend
5 stars is not enough for this amazing book!!! Carly and Nash met 4 years ago and shared a 🔥🔥🔥 night before going their separate ways. A chance meeting at just the right time leads to a marriage of convenience that truly is so much more from moment one. Nash may be able to lie to himself but he is fooling no one with how incredibly devoted he is to both Carly and her daughter Mia. I couldn't get enough of how he just naturally put them first and fell so deeply for them. While this is the second book in the series it is easily a stand alone but the ending will have you anxiously awaiting book 3.
This was a great book! A LOT of heat between Nash and Clara. Clara’s daughter Mia was so sweet. I loved her relationship with “Naff”. I would give this book a 5 star review for the relationships, but would have liked Ember to make it make sense with a few more details on how the contract was leaked and the relationship with the grandpa. Why was he willing to give billions but never willing to reach out to get to know his grandson. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
A very engaging story about Clara and Nash. They had a one-night stand. She is now a single mom struggling to make ends meet. Nash offers her a way to help. He’s trying to get his inheritance, and she just lost her job and needs the money. They fake a marriage. The two have great chemistry and banter. They have a few obstacles to overcome to get to their HEA. You root for them all the way through. This is the second story in the series but it’s a standalone.
For me It started, like you miss the beginning, a bit strange. It did not grip me, I did not wanted to know what happened next. It wasn't a bad read, I don't know, wasn't for me. She was in a big financial situation, had an attractive wealthy man who wants to marry her, but still had her doubts. All in all an ok read , it had its moments, just not for me.
Sweet and spicy! Single mom Clara struggles to make a life for her little girl when she reconnects with Nash, a one night stand from four years previously. Nash has looks, money and needs a wife but strictly for business! Great story full of feelings and angst woven through a bigger story or rival real estate development.
Wow! What a whirlwind book. FMC (Female Main Character) is a struggling single mum when fate has and her steamy one night stand cross paths with her again, just when he needs her the most. MMC (Male Main Character) steps up until a petition for custody of the FMC’s child throws a spanner in the works. Very well written. Can’t wait to read more from this author!
