So there. I listened to the whole thing cover to cover and now I feel weird writing a review. I read so many leadership books, I figured this could be another guy's take on the subject.
Jesus was cool. I like his style and he made me laugh. He also made me quit feeling guilty for writing satire. His instructions to his disciples to explain things through parables in order to make the material more accessible to listeners was not what I expected, but yea! I'm assuming I'm not the first Bible reader who found it self-serving.
Sadly, those disciples didn't really listen to that advice. As soon as Jesus died (four times thanks to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), the apostles went to work scaring the bejesus out of readers and making us feel like we're a bunch of jerks. There wasn't a parable in sight. Not so much the love and patience of Christ, but more like the egos and ambition of the coworkers that inspire the satire I write. Let's all pray for the middle managers, folks.
Interesting "facts": Jesus treated women with respect. He seemed to be the only one. I didn't pick up on any anti-gay sentiments from Jesus. Jesus had the patience of a saint. Oh, wait. Oops, yeah. I know that didn't come out quite right.
Still feeling weird. How do you give the Bible 4 stars? Does this mean I'm going to hell? If I were to consult the experts...
Jesus: "No." Disciples: "Yes." Me: I'd better do more good deeds just to make sure I'm cool.
