The Darkness Without

A MISSING BOY, A RUSTY SWORD, AND A WAGON LOAD OF SECRETS.

Julian is the kind of guy who doesn’t expect much from life and receives even less. Ben is the kid next door who keeps kicking a soccer ball into his yard. When the neighbor’s house is destroyed, and a dying garden gnome reveals that Ben has been abducted into fairyland, Julian sets off to rescue him… reluctantly.
Despite the furry critters he encounters, this is no whimsical quest. What awaits is a world rife with danger, its beautiful lands ravaged by politics, betrayal, and a fire-breathing dragon.
The pursuit of the kidnapper, known only as ‘The Lion’, leads Julian toward more than just a missing boy. There’s a connection between this magical land and Julian’s forgotten past, an ugly one that threatens to destroy everything. It all comes down to one boy and an empty throne.

Julian must decide exactly what and who he is willing to sacrifice.

Fans of Narnia and Game of Thrones will love this gripping fantasy novella that keeps the reader guessing all the way.

A mysterious and entertaining story set in a fantasy realm. When a young boy is abducted, Julien races through a magical world full of danger in a frantic search. The story unfolds in two ways as the main character has to discover his own identity alongside searching for the kidnappers. Each chapter reveals secrets and action until the satisfying climax with an ending I didnt see coming.

It's a great short story. It's like he had packed it full, but it was the last few chapters of a novel. Well worth a read if you love fantasy and dragons. Another epic novel from R Tillsley. Thank you.
